1. CBSE has implemented a uniform assessment system for classes 6-9 with two term tests per year to replace the previous CCE system, effective from the 2017-2018 academic year. 2. For classes 6-8, the assessment includes one periodic test and one term test per semester, with the annual exam focusing on the second half of the year syllabus. Class 9 assessment is similar to class 10 boards with three periodic tests and one final annual exam. 3. For classes 11, there are two periodic tests, a half-yearly exam, and a final session-ending exam, with different weightage and passing criteria for practical and non-practical subjects.

2. UNIFORM ASSESMENT BY CBSE/KVS
CBSE implemented a 'uniform system of
assessment, examination and report card' for
students of classes 6 to 9, effectively replacing CCE
s.
We all have to follow this format from the academic
session 2017-2018, as per a circular dated March
21.

3. 10 IMPORTANT POINTS OF UNIFORM
ASSESMENT
1. Students of classes 6 to 8 will now follow a
uniform assessment scheme with a two-
semester system that will include Term 1 Test
and Term 2 Test .
2. The assessment, examination and report card
patterns for class 9 students will be similar to
that of class 10 Board students.

4.  In first term there will be one Periodic Tests of 40
marks converted to 10 for classes 6 to 8.
 Term 1(half yearly) Test will carry 80 marks. Similarly
 In second term again there will be one periodic test of
40 marks converted to 10.
 Term 2 (yearly) Test will carry 80 marks again

5. ASSESMENT SCHEME FOR VI-VIII

6. 4.The NCERT syllabus needs to be followed by schools in the
upper primary classes.
5. Students of classes 6 to 8 will need to study mathematics,
science and social science, along with three languages and
one other subject.
6. In classes 6 to 8, the annual exams i.e. Term 2 Test will be
based on the syllabus of the second half of the year, along
with a certain percentage of the half yearly syllabus. For
class 6, 10 per cent of the half yearly syllabus will be
included in the annuals, while for classes 7 and 8, the
percentage of half yearly syllabus to be included in the final
examination is 20 per cent and 30 per cent respectively

7.  Grading will be carried out separately for scholastic
(academic) and non-scholastic (co-curricular) activities.

8. 8. Students of classes 6 to 8 will graded on a three-point scale in the
non-scholastic activities of Work Education, Art Education, and
Health and Physical Education. The factors on which they will be
graded are regularity, participation, output and teamwork.
Students will also receive marks for submission of notebooks.

B- VERY GOOD
C- FAIR
9. Report cards issued by all CBSE schools will need to carry both
the logos of the school and the CBSE.
10. The new report card design for students of classes 6 to 8, and
for class 9 students can be checked in the official circular.

9. ASSESMENT SCHEME FOR IX AND X CLASS
 CBSE has restored the yearly (Board) exam system in class X.
 KVS has also introduced yearly (Board) exam for class IX. This
means now there will be only one final examination in the month of
March 2018 of 80 marks for all the subjects covering the whole
syllabus.
 No half yearly exam will be held.
 In between there will be three periodic test of 40 marks in August,
80 marks in first week of October and 80 marks test in the second
week of January 2018. These periodic test (best two ) will have 10%
weightage ,
 Note books also will be given the weight-age of 5% and subject
content enrichment( activities) will also carry 5% weight-age.
 This distribution of marks is common for class IX and X.

12. ASSESMENT SCHEME FOR XI CLASS
 For XI Class there will be two periodic test of 50
marks , half yearly of 100 marks and session ending
exam of 100 marks.
 No assignment and project marks will be for periodic
tests and no practical exam for half yearly
 SEE will be of 100 marks for non practical subjects
and for practical subjects theory paper will be of
70/80/90 and practical exam will be of 30/20/10
according to subject.

15. PROMOTION POLICY
 Student has to get at least 33% to get pass in a
subject.
 Student must get pass in theory and practical
separately.
 Student getting fail in only one subject will have
comportment . Fail in more than one subjects means
that the student is detained.
 For passing a student must be present in SEE. No
retest will be conducted except for genuine and
medical cases.
