Unemployment dos donts
1. ☺ Have a positive attitude (if necessary read positive books, or positive thinking
articles).
☺ Keep up to date regarding job offers: look at the internet, go to the local library
to check ads, …
☺Concentrate on your good points (whether is your kindness, intelligence,
.creativity, sense of organization,…)
☺ Invest in your education /refreshment courses,…
☺Try to keep in shape-it will help you to stay confident and feel better.
☺Look for positive people –they will help you to see things from a different
perspective.
☺Attend social meetings (it’s important to keep in touch with your social
network).
☺Keep your curriculum updated.
Attach a positive thought to your fridge so you can look at when feeling down
or anxious.
2. Don’t read depressing news.
Don’t stay closed at home (it will make you sad and things can’t get better this
way).
Don’t say everyone “I’m out of work”. Say instead: I’m looking for an
opportunity. It makes all the difference.
Don’t feel pity for yourself. Remember: you have more time for yourself
Don’t think this is the end of the world. There’s a solution for everything !
Don’t underestimate yourself. You’re a person with a good potential. Make the
most of it!
Don’t spend your money unwisely. It’s time to save.
Don’t give up from doing things which please you.T here are free ways of
having a good time(going for a walk,going to library…)
Don’t feel a victim of the circunstances. You can change them.
Don’t socialize with negative people.
Don’t underestimate your health.
Don’t panic. You’ll find something sooner or later.
Ask for help if needed. It’s no shame….everyone needs to be supported now
and then!
