Growing food year-round indoors is challenging due to the heat and high costs of traditional lighting systems. New LED grow lights called "garden UFO lights" produce much less heat while using 90% less energy than old high-intensity discharge bulbs. They can pay for themselves within 1-2 years and provide high-quality artificial sunlight that allows plants to thrive similar to natural conditions. These advances in lighting technology enabled by LEDs help people access fresh produce year-round more sustainably.
