 Green energy comes from natural sources such as
sunlight, wind, rain, tides, plants, algae and geothermal
heat.
# These energy resources are renewable, meaning
they're naturally replenished.
 Reasons for the Need of Green Energy
1: Natural resources used in the energy generation
process is on the decline.
2: Increasing pollution caused by the non renewable
sources.

Solar power -
Solar energy technologies use the energy of the sun to light homes,
heat water and generate electricity.
 Solar Energy Is an Abundant Energy Source.
 Solar Energy Is Renewable.
 Solar Energy Is Safe to Produce.

 Solar Energy Is Applicable Everywhere.

WIND POWER-
Use the energy of the wind to generate electricity. One of
the oldest and the most efficient energy of all renewable
energies.

 Wind Energy Is Renewable.
 Wind Energy Is Safe to Produce.
 Low Maintenance and Running Costs.
 Contributes to sustainable development

Hydroelectric energy-
 Called hydroelectric power or hydropower.
 Uses the energy of moving water.
 Generates electricity by harnessing the gravitational force
of falling water.
Biomass energy-
 Biomass is organic material that comes from plants and
animals.
 It is also a Is Renewable source of energy.
 Less expensive than fossil fuels.
GREEN BUILDING
Green building is the structures that are
environmentally responsible and resource-efficient
throughout a building's life-cycle from siting to design,
construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and
deconstruction.
Advantages
 Less energy consumption than a building of
comparable size.
 Saves more potable water demands than a normal
building of same size.
 Reduces cost of operation in the long term.
 Consumers now more environment conscious.
GREEN PURCHASING
Product
 Product dimension includes providing and using engineering
with market-driven trends for green product attributes such
as energy savings, organic clothing, low volatile organic
compounds, green chemicals etc.
 Greener selection and use of resources results in savings from
less waste, less chemicals and less processing.
 Wal-Mart has made tremendous strides in greening their
transportation, energy usage, facility design and adoption of
some greener products such as organic clothing.
GREEN CHEMISTRY
 Use of safe, environment-benign substances,
including solvents, whenever possible.
 Design of processes to maximize the amount of raw
material that ends up in the product.
 Design of energy efficient processes.
 Best form of waste disposal, not to create it in the
first place.
GREEN NANOTECHNOLOGY
 It will help provide clean water to billions.
 Ability to recycle after use.
 Nanotechnology can also help in waste
management and environmental remediation.
 A large number of efficiency issues stopping the
extensive use of renewable energy generation can
be solved by using nanotechnology.

 Can bring economic benefits to certain areas.
 Requires less maintenance so you don’t have to shell
out a lot of money to operate it.
 Renewable which means we will never run out.
 Does not emit anything harmful into the air.

Kaptai Dam
 Construction was completed in 1962.
 It is the only hydroelectric power station in
Bangladesh.
 The water storage capacity of the Kaptai dam is
11000 km2.
 The dam has five units with a total capacity of 230
MW and it produces approximately 2.92% of
the electricity consumed in Bangladesh.

industrialization with

ranked Green
Factories.
Green Technology in ICT sector of
Bangladesh
ICT sector can greatly benefited from green innovation.
Because it generates more and more e-waste such as
used batteries, appliances and cellphones.
If we use Green Technology in this sector-
 Use power more efficiently.
 Reduce waste.
 Limit the use of hazardous materials.
 Create eco-friendly products.
 Be sustainable.
Use of Green Product in
Bangladesh
Recently Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan, chief scientific
officer at Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation discovered
‘Jute poly bag’ which could begin a new era of reviving
jute.Because,
 Jute bags are ecological.
 Jute bags are durable.
 Jute has a low ecologic footprint.
 Jute has a low water footprint.
 Jute bags are extremely strong.
 Jute bags can be reused and are thus very
environmentally friendly.
What we should do now?
 Rethink about the way we live….
 Reducing Exhaustion.
 Recycle Waste.
 Renew Energy.
 Buy and use green product.
 Build new Green factory or building.
 Think about Green invention.
 Try to invent or discover green technology.
CONCLUSION
 Global warming and energy crisis cannot be solved
with one or two years. So we should start using green
technology.
 It really requires our determination and continue
effort in improving the situation.
 Green technology will definitely be the solution that
gets the potential in helping us to solve those
problems and improve our environment .

GREEN ENERGY  Green energy comes from natural sources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, plants, algae and geothermal heat. # These energy resources are renewable, meaning they're naturally replenished.  Reasons for the Need of Green Energy 1: Natural resources used in the energy generation process is on the decline. 2: Increasing pollution caused by the non renewable sources.

Types of GREEN ENERGY Solar power - Solar energy technologies use the energy of the sun to light homes, heat water and generate electricity.  Solar Energy Is an Abundant Energy Source.  Solar Energy Is Renewable.  Solar Energy Is Safe to Produce.  Low Maintenance and Running Costs  Solar Energy Is Applicable Everywhere. 

Types of GREEN ENERGY Hydroelectric energy-  Called hydroelectric power or hydropower.  Uses the energy of moving water.  Generates electricity by harnessing the gravitational force of falling water. Biomass energy-  Biomass is organic material that comes from plants and animals.  It is also a Is Renewable source of energy.  Less expensive than fossil fuels.

GREEN BUILDING Green building is the structures that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and deconstruction. Advantages  Less energy consumption than a building of comparable size.  Saves more potable water demands than a normal building of same size.  Reduces cost of operation in the long term.  Consumers now more environment conscious.

GREEN PURCHASING Product  Product dimension includes providing and using engineering with market-driven trends for green product attributes such as energy savings, organic clothing, low volatile organic compounds, green chemicals etc.  Greener selection and use of resources results in savings from less waste, less chemicals and less processing.  Wal-Mart has made tremendous strides in greening their transportation, energy usage, facility design and adoption of some greener products such as organic clothing.

GREEN CHEMISTRY  Use of safe, environment-benign substances, including solvents, whenever possible.  Design of processes to maximize the amount of raw material that ends up in the product.  Design of energy efficient processes.  Best form of waste disposal, not to create it in the first place.

GREEN NANOTECHNOLOGY  It will help provide clean water to billions.  Ability to recycle after use.  Nanotechnology can also help in waste management and environmental remediation.  A large number of efficiency issues stopping the extensive use of renewable energy generation can be solved by using nanotechnology.

The Positive Effects of GREEN TECHNOLOGY  Can bring economic benefits to certain areas.  Requires less maintenance so you don’t have to shell out a lot of money to operate it.  Renewable which means we will never run out.  Does not emit anything harmful into the air.  Reduce the amount of waste and pollution.  Can slow the effects of global warming by reducing CO2 Emissions.
  • 19. Green innovation in Bangladesh  Use of GREEN ENERGY in Bangladesh.  Use of full Green Factory in Readymade Garments(RMG) sectors.  Use of Green Technology in new industries like ICT.  Invention of new Green Product.

Green Energy in Bangladesh Kaptai Dam  Construction was completed in 1962.  It is the only hydroelectric power station in Bangladesh.  The water storage capacity of the Kaptai dam is 11000 km2.  The dam has five units with a total capacity of 230 MW and it produces approximately 2.92% of the electricity consumed in Bangladesh.
  • 21. Green Factory in Bangladesh Bangladesh has taken a leading position in sustainable green industrialization with the world’s several top ranked Green Factories.
  • 22. Green Technology in ICT sector of Bangladesh ICT sector can greatly benefited from green innovation. Because it generates more and more e-waste such as used batteries, appliances and cellphones. If we use Green Technology in this sector-  Use power more efficiently.  Reduce waste.  Limit the use of hazardous materials.  Create eco-friendly products.  Be sustainable.
  • 23. Use of Green Product in Bangladesh Recently Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan, chief scientific officer at Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation discovered ‘Jute poly bag’ which could begin a new era of reviving jute.Because,  Jute bags are ecological.  Jute bags are durable.  Jute has a low ecologic footprint.  Jute has a low water footprint.  Jute bags are extremely strong.  Jute bags can be reused and are thus very environmentally friendly.
  • 24. What we should do now?  Rethink about the way we live….  Reducing Exhaustion.  Recycle Waste.  Renew Energy.  Buy and use green product.  Build new Green factory or building.  Think about Green invention.  Try to invent or discover green technology.
  • 25. CONCLUSION  Global warming and energy crisis cannot be solved with one or two years. So we should start using green technology.  It really requires our determination and continue effort in improving the situation.  Green technology will definitely be the solution that gets the potential in helping us to solve those problems and improve our environment .
