Hello panel members, I would like to answer question number A, among the
listed set in the slide format.
QUESTION A : If you had the opportunity, what actions would you demand
of the United Nations Secretary General & why ?
RESPONSE A : Please see the below slide
UNITED NATIONS ORGARNIZATION
(An International organization to promote international co-operation)
UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION
UN General
Assembly
UN
Secretariat
UN Security
Council
UN
Economic
& Social
Council
UN
Trusteeship
Council
International
Court of
Justice
UN SECRETARY GENERAL
(Leader, Spokesperson, Advocate, Administrator & C.E.O of UNO)
Roles & Power :
 Administrative – Responsible for proper administration of all operations
related to UNO & its different organs
 Peacekeeping – Maintain international peace
 Mediation – Work as an mediator to resolve international disputes
 Human Resources – Responsible for hiring of under-secretaries overseeing
various job roles falling under different organs of UNO
VITAL AREAS OF CONCERN & UNDERGOING PROBLEM FOR UNO
RESPRESENTATIVE (As per my view) :
1. TERRORISM
Foremost obstacle
towards international
peaceful development.
Almost every country is
suffering from this cancer,
causing tremendous
outflow of money, human
lives and resources. Basic
problem :
 Lack of co-ordination
and communication
between countries
 Delay in passing of
verdict against
terrorists
2. OVERPOPULATION
After terrorism, increasing
population is the biggest
problem needing some
practical and thoughtful
resolution. Causing shortage
of resources, opportunities,
insufficient distribution of
wealth etc. Basic problem :
 Insufficient or lack of laws
to control population
 Orthodox & outdated
thoughts amongst
different religions
regarding child birth
3. THIRD WORLD NATIONS
Undeveloped countries or third
world nations are becoming ideal
wombs to above two problems.
Frankly, no one would like to live in
a country lacking in almost every
sector in the world. Causing
wastage of land, resources,
improper distribution of population,
lack of future development etc.
Basic problem:
 Brain drain
 Lack of proper management &
technologies to use available
funds & resources
 Disinterest among locals towards
nation development
Problem 1 : Terrorism
UN Security Council
1. Direct control by UNO, establishing more
transparency & sharing of data relevant to
international peace among different
countries
International
Court of
Justice
1. All terrorists should be presented
before an international court established
separately for this, irrespective of his
nationality, caste & religion.
2. All verdicts should be passed within a
month time to increase trust & reliability
of UNO among people
Responsible Organs & Possible actions should be pursued by UN
Secretary General
Problem 2 : Overpopulation
UN
General
Assembly
1. Set up a parameter to calculate overpopulation
index as per available resources, current status &
possible future developments of a country to monitor
its population statistics.
2. Discuss with all the nations & propose them to offer
a population control strategy and making sure its
application and submission of its timely results &
reports to UNO.
International
Court of
Justice
1. Set up an international law restricting numbers of
children per couple irrespective of religion, country,
caste etc.
2. Deploying people from overpopulated areas,
training them and offer them to work in third world
nations & their development.
Responsible Organs & Possible actions should be pursued by UN
Secretary General
Problem 3 : Third World Nations
UN
Economic
& Social
Council
1. Set up international colleges specifically
for young talents from these undeveloped
nations. Teach them, train them as
engineers, scientists, doctors & managers
and absorb them as UN employees &
international developers.
2. Offer these people to work in their nations
& give them command to develop their
nation under different fields.
3. Ask developed nations to invest here,
share their scientific knowhow & research
with them, help them in creation of new
jobs as a mandatory provision.
4. Make them responsible for application &
investment of international funds trusted on
them.
Responsible Organs & Possible actions should be conveyed by UN
Secretary General
