#Forest inside the university
Establishing a small Mediterranean forest within the university. It will be a
complex, multi-layered layered system composed of drought-resistant species.

interactive elements within the forest. Foster an active citizen role in promoting and

Creating a green space that is adapted to extreme climatic conditions resulting from
climate change.
Walking through dense vegetation helps reconnect with nature. Such green spaces
reduce stress and improve concentration.
Implementing the project in stages based on the growth of the trees.
Allowing wildlife to move through the UAB campus to the surrounding forests, creating a
biodiversity hotspot and connecting it to the Collserola Park.
This “greening” model ensures climate resilience. The project can be replicated in other
areas of Barcelona and in other semi-arid regions in need of climatic refuges.
