This document outlines a generic change management and engagement process for an IPTel business change project. It discusses facilitating user uptake to achieve benefits, keeping stakeholders informed and building positive expectations. The starting point is defining what will change with the new IP and data phone system compared to the old copper/PABX system. It identifies key stakeholder groups and their needs. Considerations for the change process include testing the approach during a pilot phase and gaining commitment from local management and partners. Potential risks are noted if not enough flexibility, support or accountability exists. Sites are asked to appoint partners, communicate about the project, and support the rollout process.
