What is User Acceptance Testing? Also known as UAT or UAT testing. it's basically, a process of verifying that a solution works for the user. And the key word here, is user. This is crucial, because they’re the people who will use the software on a daily basis. There are many aspects to consider with respect to software functionality. There’s unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, and system testing, amongst many others. What Is User Acceptance Testing? I’ll keep it simple; according to Techopedia, UAT (some people call it UAT testing as well) is: User acceptance testing (UAT) is the last phase of the software testing process. During UAT, actual software users test the software to make sure it can handle required tasks in real-world scenarios, according to specifications. UAT is one of the final and critical software project procedures that must occur before newly developed software is rolled out to the market. User acceptance testing (UAT), otherwise known as Beta, Application, or End-User Testing, is often considered the last phase in the web development process, the one before final installation of the software on the client site, or final distribution of it.

Running head: SIMPLIFIED PROJECT PLAN 1 SIMPLIFIED PROJECT PLAN 2 Simplified Project Plan Name Institution The project to be implemented involves the development of Bank Management Software and entails the use of the waterfall model. Selecting a methodology is essential since it gives a framework of the overall process and associated project documents as well as the deliverables that will control the project development cycle from start to close. The waterfall model ensures that the development phases flow seamlessly and is subdivided into separate sequential stages where the result of the preceding phase becomes the input of the succeeding phase. In the waterfall model, the development team moves through the stages of development. The phases include; Analysis, Requirements Specification, Design, Coding, and Implementation, Testing and integration. The sequence flow from one phase to another in a top to bottom fashion. Theoretically, all the requirements are initially specified as well as the scope of the project. The app is designed according to the requirements where it is implemented and tested devoid of any modifications. The final product is then delivered to the customer. Development phases for the project include: · Requirements gathering and elicitation where the system requirement objectives are met. The user requirements for the system will entail Financial / Management Accounting, Treasury and Risk Management as well as Bank Communication Management. · The system design phase will enable proper determination of the hardware and software requirements that describes the entire system architecture. · The Implementation phase involves the development of application modules which are tested separately to establish their functionality. · The Integration and Testing phase will entail the integration of the individual modules into a single system which is then tested as a single system. Also, user acceptance testing is done at this phase · System implementation phase. This phase follows the successful integration and testing phase where it is deployed. · The maintenance phase occurs after the system is implemented to correct or add new modules to meet customer’s changing needs or scope creep. Traditionally, test management has focused on two areas—test planning and test execution. Test planning creates the test strategy and prepares test cases. Test execution focuses on who is responsible for and assigned to executing the respective test cases and logging defects. These views, however, are not inclusive of everything a tester does. For example, the work of team members must be coordinated, environments made ready, and test data prepared. For this reason, Jim Trentadue says the testing effort should be managed by dependencies—not activities. Jim shares logical models for managing the activities your testers are—and should be—doing to support testing efforts. Learn how to create and manage the relationships between common testing deliverables, such as test cases with dependencies on test data or defects affected by build and environment management work. By focusing on testing activities’ dependencies and relationships, you will be able to better manage your testing efforts across the various testing phases.
