This document outlines the schedule and objectives for a course on computer game story development. The schedule includes exploring genre, symbolism, and plot devices in different media. It will cover understanding narrative for games, producing a story and dialogue for a game, and reflecting on one's own narrative work. Some topics to be discussed are the establishment of conflicts and story direction within the first 20 minutes and 2 hours of a narrative, using examples from X-Men and Elfen Lied. Relationship dynamics, scene setting, and plot styles will be examined across genres. Students will analyze and compare narratives through discussion and brief homework assignments.
