Enteritis is inflammation of the small intestine that is usually caused by contaminated food or drink, but can also be caused by drugs, radiation therapy, or autoimmune diseases like Crohn's disease and celiac disease. Symptoms of enteritis include abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, dehydration, and fever. Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, while ulcerative colitis results in inflammation and ulcers of the colon and rectum. Ulcerative proctitis and ulcerative rectosigmoiditis are mild forms of ulcerative colitis that specifically affect the rectum.
A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection anywhere in the urinary tract that can cause symptoms like burning pain when urinating, cloudy or bloody urine, and low fever. UTIs are usually treated with antibiotics that must be taken as prescribed until finished to cure the infection. Chronic renal failure (CRF) is the slow loss of kidney function over time that causes symptoms like fatigue, itching, and nausea. A retrograde pyelogram uses dye to look for blockages in the urinary tract like kidney stones. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy uses shock waves to break up kidney stones into smaller pieces that can pass through the urinary tract. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN
Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver that can be caused by viruses. Viral hepatitis means a specific virus is causing liver inflammation. Hepatitis C affects many people worldwide with varying symptoms ranging from fatigue and nausea to jaundice. Risk factors include sharing drug equipment or personal hygiene items with blood. Prevention involves not sharing these items and properly handling needles. Hepatitis C is tested through antibody and PCR tests and treated through combination therapy of pegylated interferon and ribavirin injections and tablets for 6-12 months.

Typhoid fever is caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi, which spreads through contaminated food, water, or drink. It causes symptoms like high fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The bacteria enters the intestines and bloodstream. It is diagnosed through blood tests and cultures. Typhoid fever is treated with antibiotics and fluids, though antibiotic resistance is increasing. With treatment, symptoms usually improve within 2-4 weeks, but complications can occur like intestinal bleeding or perforation. Vaccination is recommended for travel to areas where typhoid fever is common.
Typhoid fever is an infection caused by the Salmonella Typhi bacteria that causes diarrhea, fever, and rash. It spreads through contaminated food or water and symptoms include abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, and possible complications like intestinal bleeding or kidney failure. Prevention includes vaccines, water treatment, and food safety like boiling, cooking, peeling or avoiding raw foods that could become contaminated.
Typhoid fever is caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi, which is transmitted through the fecal-oral route. It initially causes inflammation and ulceration of the lymphoid tissue in the small intestine. Clinical features include a sustained fever along with relative bradycardia, abdominal discomfort, and a rose-colored rash. Untreated, it can lead to complications like intestinal perforation or hemorrhage. Diagnosis is made through blood or stool cultures. Treatment involves antibiotics like ciprofloxacin for at least two weeks, though fever and other symptoms may persist after treatment begins.
The document discusses several infectious diseases including meningitis, typhoid, leprosy, tuberculosis, and urinary tract infections. It provides information on the pathophysiology, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment for each disease. Meningitis is an inflammation of the meninges surrounding the brain and spinal cord that is usually caused by infection. Common symptoms include sudden onset of fever, headache, and stiff neck. Bacterial meningitis requires intravenous antibiotics treatment. Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria and spreads through contaminated food or water. It causes symptoms like sustained fever and abdominal pain. Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae that mainly affects the skin
Typhoid fever is caused by the Salmonella Typhi bacteria and spreads through contaminated food or water. It causes a sustained fever and can lead to serious complications without treatment. The bacteria infect the intestines and spreads through the lymphatic system. Symptoms progress over weeks from fever to abdominal pain and possible rash. Untreated it can lead to intestinal bleeding or perforation. Diagnosis involves blood or stool cultures and serologic tests. Treatment is with antibiotics like fluoroquinolones for 2 weeks. Hospitalization may be needed for serious cases or complications. With proper treatment, mortality is less than 1% but resistant strains are a global concern.
Typhoid fever, also known as enteric fever, is a potentially fatal multisystemic illness caused primarily by Salmonella enterica, subspecies enterica serovar typhi and, to a lesser extent, related serovars paratyphi A, B, and C.
The protean manifestations of typhoid fever make this disease a true diagnostic challenge. The classic presentation includes fever, malaise, diffuse abdominal pain, and constipation. Untreated, typhoid fever is a grueling illness that may progress to delirium, obtundation, intestinal hemorrhage, bowel perforation, and death within 1 month of onset. Survivors may be left with long-term or permanent neuropsychiatric complications.
Typhoid fever is the bacterial disease caused by the ingestion of food or water
contaminated with bacterium, Salmonella typhi. The typhoid fever is also called
typhoid. Typhoid fever is diagnosed by detection of Salmonella typhi in the stool
sample. Typhoid responds to anti-biotic treatment. Approximately (3-5) % of the
people becomes carrier after acute illness. Typhoid fever is gastric fever,
abdominal typhus, infantile remittent fever, slow fever, nervous fever and
pathogenic fever.
The document provides details on evaluating a patient presenting with fever. It includes sections on taking a thorough history with perspectives on biomedical factors, the patient's experience, and contextual background. A review of systems explores all major organ systems for localizing symptoms. The physical exam findings note vital signs and examination of different body systems. Analyzing symptoms like fever patterns, associated issues, and past medical history are essential for determining the underlying cause.
Typhoid fever progresses through four stages over 4 weeks. In the first week, symptoms include rising fever and headaches. The second week brings high spiking fevers, delirium, and a characteristic rash. Complications can occur in the third week such as intestinal bleeding or perforation. Transmission is usually through contaminated food or water. Diagnosis involves blood or stool cultures while treatment consists of antibiotics and rehydration.
Typhoid is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhimurium. It causes symptoms like high fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. The bacteria spreads through contaminated food or water. It infects the small intestine and bloodstream before multiplying in organs like the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. This causes fever and other symptoms. The only effective treatment is antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, though some strains are becoming resistant. Preventing typhoid requires proper sanitation and handwashing to avoid contaminated substances.
The document describes symptoms and treatments for several tropical diseases and illnesses. It provides information on Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid Fever, Malaria, Dengue Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Meningitis, Rabies, Tetanus, Intestinal Parasites, Cholera, and Tuberculosis. For each disease, it lists common symptoms and then provides a brief overview of causes, prognosis, and typical treatments. The document serves as a reference for understanding and managing various infectious tropical diseases.
Bangungot, also known as sudden unexpected death syndrome (SUDS), refers to sudden unexpected death during sleep, particularly in adolescents and adults. It has been linked to genetic mutations affecting the cardiac sodium channel and can run in families. The condition is characterized by abnormal electrocardiogram readings and an increased risk of ventricular fibrillation leading to sudden cardiac death. The Brugada syndrome is a genetic cause of SUDS defined by distinct electrocardiogram changes and is the most common cause of sudden death in young men in Thailand and Laos without known heart disease.
Typhoid fever, also known as enteric fever, is caused by the Salmonella Typhi bacteria which is typically spread through contaminated food or water. It causes a systemic infection and symptoms include a sustained fever along with abdominal pain. Without treatment, it can cause severe complications and even death. The disease is diagnosed through blood, stool, or urine cultures and treated with antibiotics like fluoroquinolones for at least two weeks. Prevention involves handwashing, drinking boiled water, and getting vaccinated which is especially important for those traveling to areas where typhoid is common.
The document discusses dengue, its causative virus, transmission, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management in children. It provides details on:
- The dengue virus having 4 serotypes and being transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
- The replication and transmission cycle between humans and mosquitoes.
- Clinical manifestations ranging from dengue fever to the more severe dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome.
- Diagnosis involving laboratory tests and clinical criteria.
- A stepwise approach to patient assessment and management categorized into outpatient, inpatient, and emergency groups.
Typhoid fever is caused by infection from the Salmonella typhi bacteria. It is spread through contaminated food or water. Symptoms include a sustained fever, abdominal pain, and headache. Without treatment, some patients may develop severe complications like intestinal bleeding or perforation. Diagnosis involves blood or stool cultures. Treatment is with antibiotics like fluoroquinolones for 2 weeks. A small percentage of patients become chronic carriers even after treatment.
4 n transmissible diseases and non transmissible diseasesAlicia Yee
The document discusses transmissible and non-transmissible diseases. It defines transmissible diseases as those spread between people via pathogens, and lists influenza, SARS, and dengue fever as examples. Non-transmissible diseases are not infectious or spread between people, and examples given are colon cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The document also discusses disease prevention measures like hygiene, lifestyle, and checkups. Hereditary diseases are described as passed down through genes from parents, with sickle cell anemia and thalassemia provided as examples.
This document discusses the syndromic approach to diagnosing viral infections. It defines a syndrome as a set of signs and symptoms that are correlated. There is no single test to diagnose viral diseases, so syndromic testing looks at patterns of symptoms. Major clinical syndromes presented include fever, influenza-like illness, respiratory illness, rash, and others. For each syndrome, typical viral causes are outlined. The syndromic approach guides diagnosis of viral diseases based on presenting symptoms.
The document discusses dengue, its causative virus, transmission cycle, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management in children. It describes how the dengue virus is transmitted between humans and mosquitoes, the four serotypes of the virus, and the typical 3 phase clinical course of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever. It provides guidelines for classifying and managing patients based on symptoms and severity, including outpatient and inpatient treatment and criteria for discharge.

Children with low self-esteem often have feelings of worthlessness and lack confidence in their own judgment and abilities. This can be caused when children are overprotected and do not learn to make their own decisions for fear of making mistakes, or when they are neglected and get the message that they are not worthy of attention. To build confidence, parents should allow children to make choices and learn from mistakes, avoid labeling them negatively, and promote feelings of acceptance so children feel free to make choices without fear of criticism.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
1. TYPHOID
Typhoid fever is an acute illness associated with fever that is most
often caused by the Salmonella typhi bacteria. It can also be caused
by Salmonella paratyphi, a related bacterium that usually leads to a
less severe illness. The bacteria are deposited in water or food by a
human carrier and are then spread to other people in the area.
Symptoms
Early symptoms include fever, general ill-feeling and abdominal
pain. A high (over 103 degrees) fever and severe diarrhea occur as
the disease gets worse.
Some people with typhoid fever develop a rash called "rose spots,"
which are small red spots on the belly and chest.
Other symptoms that occur include:
• Abdominal tenderness
• Agitation
• Bloody stools
• Chills
• Confusion
• Difficulty paying attention
• Delirium
• Fluctuating mood
• Hallucinations
• Nosebleeds
• Severe fatigue
• Slow, sluggish, lethargic feeling
• Weakness
Exams and Tests
2. A complete blood count (CBC) will show a high number of white
blood cells.
A blood culture during first week of the fever can show S. typhi
bacteria
Other tests that can help diagnose this condition include:
• Stool culture
• ELISA urine test to look for the bacteria that causes Typhoid
fever
• Platelet count (platelet count will be low)
• Fluorescent antibody study to look for substances specific to
Typhoid bacteria
TREATMENT
Typhoid fever can be treated with antibiotics. However, resistance
to common antimicrobials is widespread. Healthy carriers should
be excluded from handling food.
