This document discusses using Twitter for teaching and learning. It provides several benefits of using Twitter such as increasing student engagement, diversifying class discussions, and allowing students to continue conversations after class. Research studies have found that Twitter can increase student engagement and performance. However, the document also notes there may be downsides to using Twitter in the classroom such as distractions. Overall, the document promotes experimenting with Twitter as a tool to facilitate informal learning and increase participation in and out of the classroom.
