The first person I followed on Twitter was Tom Altepeter. His twitter name now is
@tomaltepeter. Tom likes to tweet about topics concerning humanity. Tweets concerning
Nelson Mandela. One of his quotes was “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Tom
concerns himself with how racism affects the world and how if we want to change the world we
must change it ourselves. Another tweet that stood out was how love unites the world. He seems
like a good moral person and isn’t about violence or war. He, in my words, is a lover not a
fighter. He seems very concerned on how humanity is today and that we do not need racism in
the world. Tom also wonders why he is followed by the majority of Marshall students; probably
from the video we must watch. He seems like he’s all about equality, not fighting, and feels
strongly about racism (which we all should). He is also a Notre Dame fan.
Aviva Dunsiger
The second person I followed was Aviva Dunsiger. She is a teacher who taught
kindergarten through second grade for 11 years. She is now teaching the 5th
grade. She is all
about posting pictures and tweeting about what her students did that day. She seems very
motivated and concerned about how her students turn out. She wants them to succeed in life and
is proud to show people on twitter about how well they are doing. Pretty much all of her tweets

2. are about what her students did that day and how well they did. One of the most interesting
picture she posted was about the kindergarteners doing some sort of skateboarding project. They
have a big ramp up looking like they are going to ramp small skateboards. She’s a very
passionate about “hands-on” learning. Her class seems very exciting because the kids are always
smiling while they do a lot of projects together in class. Her style of teaching isn’t like a lot of
other teachers. It seems that she doesn’t really use text books because the students are always
standing doing some project. I wish I had a teacher like that in elementary school.
PernilleRipp
The third person I followed was PernilleRipp. She is a 5th
grade teacher and a mother of
four. She is the creator of the Global Read Aloud and an author. PernilleRipp is a big reader. She
enjoys books, considering she is an author. She is passionate about getting her students to read.
She seems like a big blogger. Like other teachers, she is big into hands on projects. In her
pictures that she tweets, her students are never using text books. They are engaging in exciting
project and using technology. In one picture, her students are presenting something to another
class on the computer. I feel she seems to really care about her students and how they will turn
out in life. She also seems like a committed parent and wife.
Chris Wejr
The fourth person I followed was Chris Wejr. Chris is a K-5 principal and teacher. He’s a
big sports fan. He’s also a husband and father of three year old twin girls. Chris seems like he’s
all about leadership and reaching your goals. A lot of his tweets are about leadership and even
says it in his bio. He feels strongly about education and has his students do many projects. A lot
of his pictures are PowerPoints. He seems more of a visual teacher showing his students slides

3. on different information. He mostly just tweets about education considering education is his life.
He feels that school should not be like work and prepare student for the future. Making school
feel like work in not preparation. He also tweeted that the purpose of school and the purpose of
work are two different things, yet we hear direct comparisons over and over again.
