Project Details Twinbrooke Shopping Centre Emergency Sewer Repair Capital Facilities/Wastewater Design and Construction Division/Collections Branch Project Overview: • Coordination of work with Twinbrooke Shopping Centre owner and businesses. • Sewer cleaning and internal Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Inspection to determine extent of failure and repair needed • Relocation of water service and associated isolation gate valve • Excavation and installation of about 17’ section of PVC pipe repair to remove damaged sagging pipe • Generate new as-built • Site cleanup and restoration Project Team: • Wastewater Collection Division – WCD Pipe Inspection Crew, Thomas Richardson • Wastewater Design and Construction Division – Agata Fallon, Thomas Grala • Contractor: Patriot Development Corporation Project Description: During a routine cleaning and inspection operation our flushing equipment became lodged in a section of pipe and could not be removed. Upon further investigation it was determined that the flushing equipment became stuck in a damaged section of pipe. Given the pipes proximity to a nearby building and the presence of storm water and water utilities in the area, one of our emergency contractors was mobilized to assist with this repair. The flushing equipment was located and recovered. The condition of the existing pipe was investigated further and repairs for this project included relocation of water service, the associated isolation gate valve, excavation and installation of a 17 foot section of PVC Pipe. This project was substantially complete on November 24, 2020.
