House of Tudor, an English royal dynasty of Welsh origin
which gave five sovereigns to England: Henry VII. (reigned 1485–1509);
his son, Henry VIII. (1509–47); followed by Henry VIII’s three children,
Edward VI. (1547–53), Mary I. (1553–58), and Elizabeth I. (1558–1603).
The origins of the Tudors can be traced to the 13th century.
