Kho kho is a traditional tag game originating from India. It is played between two teams of 12 players each on a rectangular field. One team acts as chasers who must try to touch members of the defending team before time runs out. Kho kho improves physical fitness and social skills while preserving local cultural heritage. The game is played in Maharashtra, India where it remains an important part of the culture and tradition.

9. HOW IS KHO KHO PLAYED?
• KHO KHO is played in two teams. There is a defending and the chasing team.
Each must have 12 players but only 9 members are allowed to enter the field.
• The 8 members of the chasing team must sit in the field (each 4 facing different
directions). The last member of the chasing team must chase 3 members of the
defending team.
• The chasing team must catch all the 3 members of the defending team before
times runs out and the defending team must ensure that they avoid getting
caught.
