Handball is a team sport played on a 40 by 20 meter court where two teams of 7 players each try to score goals by throwing the ball into the opponent's goal. Players are not allowed to run with the ball and can only take 3 steps before passing or shooting. Fouls inside the 9 meter line result in a penalty shot for the opposing team from the 7 meter line. Different player positions like pivots, centers, and extremes have specialized roles in ball movement and scoring.
