Ping Pong

Ping pong originated in England in the 1880s and got its nicknames from the sound of the ball. It was first played with string balls but now uses celluloid balls. The game involves hitting a ball back and forth over a net using a paddle. It became an Olympic sport in 1988 and is popular in China because it is inexpensive and can be played anywhere.
