Tantalizing Fragments Of A Lost Whole Analysis
Visiting a Charlatan, A brief summary of David Mathisen s Article, Tantalizing Fragments of a Lost
Whole : The ancient myths of humanity begin to yield their secrets. This article is written by David
Mathisen, the author of a series of books Stars Myths of the World, and How to Interpret Them
(Hancock and Mathisen, Warner n.d.). Upon first glimpse of this article, the reader gets the feeling
that the author may have evidence or insight into something new and mysterious. Upon further
examination, logical fallacies, ink blotting and cherry picking become obvious ( Carl Sagan Presents
His quot;Baloney Detection Kit quot;: 8 Tools for Skeptical Thinking | Open Culture n.d.). The lack of

Sharing ideas, stories and origin myths, would have been a widely used form of communication,
especially with the possibility of language barriers. The stories that make up the Christian bible for
example, have roots in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Greece (Campbell 1959). These cultures did
interact with one another, and Mathisen does nothing to scientifically prove his assertion that all
cultures stemmed from a mother civilization and the entire shared language was based on the

Introduction The MBT, the NEO ipip Big Five Personality, and the VIA Character Strengths Survey

Power And Power Of Women In Lysistrata By Aristophanes
Aristophanes is thought to have been born between 447 and 445 BC in Athens, during a period in
which Athens had cultural and political dominance in Greece. In Athens during the year 411, the
disapproval of the war by wealthy citizens led to the destruction of the democracy and the creation of
an oligarchy. Aristophanes wrote Lysistrata during this time of political strife. Lysistrata is a play
about a Lysistrata, an Athenian matron, that asks all the women of Greece to refrain from having sex
with their husbands until the men sign a peace treaty to end the Peloponnesian war. The women s
power and leadership displayed in the play was in direct contrast with the legitimate role of women in
Ancient Greece. Lysistrata shows women of strength, power, and determination. Although,
Aristophanes occasionally presents the women in a stereotypical manner, his positive portrayals of
women overwhelms this, whereas the men in his play are never shown in a favorable fashion.
Regardless of Aristophanes s intent, I argue that the ancient Greek play, Lysistrata, empowers women
even to this day.
Aristophanes shows the intelligence and power of women in his play Lysistrata. The women in
Ancient Greece had little rights, especially in politics. Women stayed at home and were kept separate
from society. Their primary role was to birth and care for children. However, in Lysistrata, the women
are intervening in politics, and Lysistrata works as the leader that bands the women of Greece
together.

Representation Of Helen In Euripides Women Of Troy
The representation of Helen in Homer s work and with how she is depicted in Euripides Women of
Troy enables the reader to understand different perspectives of Helen s personality seen throughout
both texts. Furthermore, these comparative methods in both texts will raise questions and awareness to
the depiction of Helen. In this essay, I will explore the perspective of how Euripides displays a harsher
judgement of Helen than in Homer s text.
Firstly, Helen was one of the most inspired characters in The Iliad. Helen was depicted as powerless,
beautiful and an object. After Paris taking Helen home, she realizes that Paris is not able to realize the
consequences of her disobedience. Homer allows the reader to understand that Helen s decisions are
made for her. For instance, Aphrodite s involvement in the duel on Helen s behalf triggered Helen s
thoughts on blaming the g ds for the war. By blaming Aphrodite, Helen shows her disrespect for the g
ds. However, Helen does not have a choice when she faces her decisions. For example, Aphrodite s
ordered her to return to the bedroom and make love with Paris. Helen rebelled and later on, Aphrodite
enraged told her to not provoke [her]... or in [her] immortal rage [she] may just toss [her] over, hate
[her] as [she] adores [her] with a vengeance (Iliad, 3. 480 482). Secondly, Homer enables the reader to
understand that Helen s guilt and terrible beauty is cursed and he is not depicting her harshly. In
addition, the g ds did not allow

Comparison Between Hamlet And Hamlet
Hamlet Vs. Hamlet: A Comparison Between Films
Laurence Olivier (1948) and Kenneth Branagh (1996) both created films about the Shakespearean
play Hamlet, yet they are both very different. The two films were created fifty years apart and present
their film using their own perspectives and interpretations of Shakespeare s Hamlet while using the
same themes Shakespeare had. Two important themes are the use of technology and treatment of
women.
In Laurence Olivier s 1948 film, women are objectified; this reflects on the year of production. The
abuse in the character roles were more admissibly shown by gender roles. Hamlet is presented as a
very controlling person and is very controlling of Ophelia. He manipulates her into having sex with
him and shows other forms of relentless abuse towards Ophelia. Furthermore, Hamlet reveals no other
signs of affection for her other those of lust. Unlike the version filmed by Kenneth Branagh in 1996,
the date filmed is an important factor, as it demonstrated how men interacted with women. In Olivier s
film, Hamlet is stereotypically masculine monotonous and aggressive. In the beginning of the first
scene, Hamlet appears to be emotionless, until he abruptly points to Claudius and aggressively yells
All but one! The scene ends with Hamlet exerting his power over Ophelia by throwing Ophelia to the
ground and leaving her on the steps to lure Polonius and Claudius out from behind the curtain. Hamlet
realizes what he has done to Ophelia, but leaves the room without helping her up or apologizes for
what he has done, even though his plan had failed. It is clear that Hamlet s plan to use Ophelia as bait
had failed because they could not have seen him or Ophelia from their side of the curtain. Polonius
confirms this when he says, No need to tell us, we have heard it all . In contrast, Kenneth s Hamlet
stops once he sees what he had done to Ophelia and goes back to her. Kenneth s Hamlet is more
emotional. He sheds tears, expresses pain in his voice, deeply sighs, and overall is less physical with
Ophelia. These differences between Kenneth and Olivier s versions of the character Hamlet reflect the
era of which they were created. In Olivier s time, abuse of women was permitted; a man

The Effect of the Death Penalty in Texas
The Effect of the Death Penalty in Texas
Introduction
A lot of heat and controversy surrounds capital punishment in today s society. The death penalty was
built into the Texas justice system in 1835 and has retained most of its strength compared to the rest of
the states. The famous motto Don t Mess with Texas stands true when concerning the death penalty; In
Kenneth William s article, Texas: Tough on Murderers or on Fairness?. Williams states, No one
promotes this message [Don t Mess with Texas] more than Texas prosecutors with their use of the
death penalty. While the nation as a whole has become somewhat ambivalent about capital
punishment, Texas prosecutors continue to seek death sentences on a regular basis, and the state ...

They randomly selected address throughout Texas and sent them a questionnaire filled with questions
such as, Do you support the death penalty? , Should there be a waiting period to ensure an innocent
life is not taken? , and Do you have confidence in the death penalty system? Their research found that
the majority of Texans still support the death penalty, yet they have little confidence in the system. The
subjects surveyed expressed concern with the due process in which it is administered to inmates.
Alternative Research
However, In Morgan Reynolds online article, Fair and Effective in Texas on the Heartland Institute
website, she states that she believes the death penalty in Texas does serve as a deterrent. She states that
in Texas the death penalty is saved for the worst criminals who are truly deserving. She says that
crime rates in Texas have fallen nearly sixty percent since the state started using the sentence for
selective crimes in the 1990 s. She also states that if there is no death penalty than what value you are
putting on the life of the victim. On the website Waco Trib, Tommy Witherspoon writes in his article
Pursuit of death penalty slows in McLennan County, Texas , that the amount of inmates being
sentences to death row is dwindling each year in Texas because of the new law enacting the option of
life without parole. Life without parole is becoming popular

Teenage Pregnancy In El Paso, Texas
The discussion of why El Paso. Texas has one of the highest teenage pregnancy is a challenging one.
Is teenage pregnancy cause by lack of sex education, abstinence teaching or birth control accessibility.
I believe that the answer to teenage pregnancy is a truly difficult subject to tackle, due to the many
missing variables. Nevertheless, I think that the reason why El Paso, Texas has a high teenage
pregnancy because of the disagreement between the education system and parent s belief s on when to
teach young kids about their bodies. First, many parents believe that sex education in an early age
awakens the curiosity in young boys and girls, especially in a stage in their life when they are not
responsible enough. I believe in sex

Learning Asl After The Classroom
Introduction As a hispanic, it is a rite of passage to speak Spanish. With two full time working parents,
I learned Spanish from my care takers in a home environment. Having care takers that are immigrants
and not highly educated, grammar is not a strong suit and so it was not focused on when I was
learning. Since it was not a school environment, basic grammar rules were memorized through
examples not written and explained. In high school, I took half a year of American Sign Language.
Learning ASL after the critical age in a classroom, made it difficult for me to memorize the grammar
rules. On the first day of class, the professor came in and only communicated through sign language.
After explaining the expectations of the curriculum, she highly encouraged the class to speak in sign
language for the semester. My professor stressed vocabulary and word order and spent very little time
on facial expressions, which effect the meanings of signs. Along with ASL, I took two years of
Spanish in high school. Having two teachers, I had different experiences in the classroom. My first
teacher solely taught the class on memorization, minimal rules were mentioned and accents were not
addressed in class. Much of the class was taught in English and my teachers Spanish was not the best.
My second teacher challenged the students, he required all responses to be in Spanish, active
participation and daily homework. He focused on grammar rules and applying them in different
situations,

The Development Process In Human Development
The development process in Human Development begins in before conception with heredity. The next
important stage in development is prenatal development. The is the stage of growth after conception
and before birth. In this stage, there are many risk factors to consider that can affect the development
of an embryo either during the pregnancy or after the pregnancy. A very well known risk factor during
this time is smoking, drink and the use of drugs. Teratogen is the different agents such as, drug,
alcohol, and tobacco that can cause different development problems at birth. I conducted a research
experiment to see how women felt about these activities they partake in, and if they know the danger it
producing toward the normal development of a fetus. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss how I
conducted this experiment, and what my finding produced about the matter. Process:
The first and hardest part of this experiment was finding women friend of mine that did not have
children already and used drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. I don t have many women friends that don t have
kids or are into drugs/alcohol/tobacco. After going down my phone list I could not easily find 4 female
friends who meet the qualification to participate in this research assignment. For the privacy of my
friends, I will name each participant after the first four letter of the alphabet (A, B, C, D). When
formulating the questions to gain the information needed upon this topic, I came up with 8 different

Parent Child Relationships In King Lear
At the core heart of King Lear, we get to see the relationship between father and child. The double plot
of King Lear consists of parallel stories of two hapless old fathers and of their children. Regan and
Goneril speaks eloquently about the vastness of the love that they hold for their father, though they are
speaking falsely, each attempting to appear the most loving and as a result they gain more territory. On
the other hand Cordelia refuses to stoop to such pandering stating instead she shows her love through
her deeds and which does not possess the oily, flattering ways of her sisters. The major characters
involved in parent/child relationships in King Lear are King Lear and his three daughters, Regan,
Goneril, and Cordelia (the true and the faithful one), and the other Gloucester and his two sons, Edgar
(the legitimate son) and Edmund (the illegitimate son). The octogenarian Lear proposes ... Show more

s expectations, he disinherits her. At Cordelia s loss, Goneril and Regan were very quick to take
advantage. They would have genuinely loved their father at one time, but now they seem tired of
having been passed over in favour of their younger sister. When Lear states his obvious preference for
Cordelia, her sisters feels free to seek their revenge, turning the family s natural order on its ear. At the

child, setting in motion the disaster that follows. Then Lear places a competition between sisters that

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn s Faith
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn is a professed Christian. However, according to some critics, this does not
necessarily make his writings quot;Christian quot; (Schmemann 39). Biblical principles can clearly be
identified in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. They can be seen through Solzhenitsyn s views
on the world as a divine creation, the nature of evil, and faith in the future.
The Christian faith is rooted in the belief that God created everything, and that it is good. According to
Christian belief, God has a plan for His creation, and therefore there is no need to be pessimistic. At
first, this Christian view seems an unlikely fit with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shukhov s attribution of nature to a divine Creator is a fundamental Christian belief (Zamoyska 216).
The nature of evil, from the Christian standpoint, is that all evil comes from man s sin. This makes
evil a very personal force, rather than something abstract. Schmemann describes the Christian idea of
evil as a fall. He states that evil is quot;this fall from on high and the horror, grief and suffering it
evokes quot; (41). Evil, or sin, is controlled by the individual. Each person has the ability to choose
between right and wrong. In many parts of the novel, prisoners must decide whether or not to help
their prison mates. When Shukhov goes to the infirmary, his fellow prisoners save his rations, so he
may eat (Solzhenitsyn 25). Later, Tsezar decides to give Shukhov the rest of his cigarette instead of
giving it to Fetyukov (31). The Russian authorities and guards have made the decision to carry out the
injustices of the prison camp. The freedom of the individual to choose right from wrong, an important
idea in Christianity, is obviously present in this novel.
Finally, Solzhenitsyn s novel expresses one of the most important Christian principles, hope for the
future. In Christianity, since Christ paid the price for the sins of the world, there are no lost causes.
Christians have faith that Christ will return someday and that there will be a heaven. In the same way,
in the midst of the terrible conditions of the prison camp, Shukhov can be pleased at

Ethical Dilemma And Moral Dilemma
GNED 212 Jorawar Singh 30877727 Section 004 Date/Time of Class Wednesday 3:30 PM Part 1
Ethical/Moral Dilemma: Defination Ethical dilemma or moral dilemma is a scenario in which a person
has to make choices/decisions depending on the situation or by keeping the net happiness in his mind.
He also thinks about the consequences of the decision he will make. In this scenario, I will be
describing an ethical dilemma that I faced when I worked with an IT firm. My team leader was
stealing from the company. He used to steal the network cable and other networking tools from the
company storage unit. I started to dig this matter and I came to know that after stealing, he was selling
that tools into local market. It was his side business and he was earning pretty good. But one day, there
was a surprise inventory check conducted by our manager. In that report a huge amount of losses were
there. So a notice was issued to all employee regarding the inside stealing and we were asked to give
the other person name and our name would be not disclosed. At that point of time I faced an ethical
dilemma, whether to give the name of my team leader with a fear of losing my job or whether to keep
quiet and let him steal more stuff till no one catches him. Part 2 Philosophical model: To solve my
ethical dilemma, I will be using Deontology as my philosophical model. Deontology is a Greek word

Lack of Funding for the Arts
In recent times, the economy has plummeted at a horrific rate. We can see it in our everyday life, from
how much our produce costs to the price we pay for gas. But one thing that we may not see until it s to
late is the damage caused by the funding cuts for the arts programs and education in America. In
addition to impeding American children s educational and moral development, we revert to a poor
cultural quality by lowering our standards of arts education due to the poor economic condition of our
nation. Even though this should be one of the more important programs for our government s
Department of Education to devote their time and efforts to, it has been severely neglected.

How Different Colors Radiate Heat
Aim: To compare how different colours radiate heat.
Hypothesis:
The hypothesis is that the black can will radiate the least heat meaning that the temperature within the
can will stay the highest, while the exterior temperature will be the lowest, with the silver can
radiating the most heat and the white can being somewhere in between.
Independent Variable:
Colour of Aluminium can
Dependent Variable:
Temperature of water surrounding can after a period of time.
Control Variables (at least 3 plus how they are controlled):
Time the water is kept in the cans, amount of water, size and material of cans
These variables will all be controlled. The time that the water is kept in the can will be controlled by
using a stopwatch to time it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The can may also have sharp rims, which could be dangerous, but if caution is taken this risk can be

Results:
How Different Cans Radiate Heat over Time Based on Colour
(Measured by interior and exterior water temperature)
Time (minutes) Temperature inside Silver Can (°C) Temperature outside of Silver Can (°C)
Temperature inside Black Can (°C) Temperature outside of Black Can (°C) Temperature inside White

Discussion:
The results accept the hypothesis and show that the Black can is the least efficient at radiating heat,
with a starting exterior temperature of 18°C and a concluding exterior temperature of 25°C (difference
of 7°C). While the silver can (most efficient at radiating heat) started with an exterior temperature of

between the two other cans starting with an exterior temperature of 18°C and finishing at 27°C
(difference of 9°C).
The black, silver and white cans all started with an interior temperature of 80°C but concluded with
interior temperatures of 40°C, 33°C and 32°C respectively. At any given point in the experiment you

The Mormon Belief System
The Mormon belief system has many different principles that are unique and set themselves apart
from other world religions, one of which being their views on cosmology. The Mormon cosmology
belief is the description of the physical and metaphysical universe. Their beliefs on the subject are
deeply engrained in the religion s basic faith; cosmology is related to the church s views on divinity,
extraterrestrial life, pre mortal existence, and the afterlife. Mormon divinity revolves around the core
beliefs in exaltation and eternal progression: the idea that mortals will be given an opportunity to have
leading roles in other heavenly kingdoms, themselves. One of the key goals in Mormonism is to
achieve exaltation through Jesus s atonement; as a result they inherit godly attributes. Mormonism
holds the belief that people who follow God s example will become like gods in the afterlife, having
all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge (LDS Church 227). This belief that people may one day
become god like figures in the afterlife leads to the assumption that Mormons believe in the existence
of other worlds like the one that we live in, that exalted people would be able to rule over. The
teachings of Mormonism also include that the exalted will live with their earthly families in the next

Comparing To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell and Sonnet...
Comparing To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell and Sonnet 138 by William Shakespeare
I am comparing To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell (1640) and Sonnet 138 by William
Shakespeare (1590). The similarities between both poems are that they both use a certain amount of
syllables throughout each poem. To His Coy Mistress uses 8 syllables per line, and Sonnet 138 uses 10
syllables per line. Another obvious similarity is that they both end with a couplet. They both also tell a
story. The differences in the poems are that To His Coy Mistress is arguing why they should get on
with life, and Carpe diem whereas Sonnet 138 is telling us about how he doesn t trust her, yet he loves
her. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

flattering you until you were content. I would spend all my life giving you everything you deserve and
you could be in one place and me in another, but it wouldn t matter as time will never run out and we
will always be in love. Marvell then goes on to say that he would have loved her before God sent the
flood and that she could refuse him forever if that was what she wanted.

This quote shows that she could say no to him for as long as she wanted, even until all the Jews were
converted to be a Roman Catholic. At the time this seemed very unlikely, as Jews were being
persecuted for their beliefs and refused to change their religion. Marvell then tells his lady that his
love for her would grow and grow without ever dying out.
My vegetable love should grow
Vaster than empires, and more slow
In this line My vegetable love is a double entendre, because he is talking about himself but he is also
saying that their love would develop naturally and grow to be bigger than the empire, but, it would be
taken nice and slowly. In the next few lines he starts to praise her body by starting at the top. He

Analysis Of Orange Is The New Black By Piper Kerman
We were a clan of doctors and lawyers and teachers, with the odd nurse, poet, or judge thrown into the
mix. (Kerman, 5). Piper Kerman came from a family that resident from Boston, Massachusetts with no
intention of returning home Kerman started her adventure. Graduating from Smith College with a
degree in Theater she was already going against the norms for her family. With no set plans after her
graduation, the involvement of drug smuggling influenced her life by being incarcerated for the crime.
Within the memoir, Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, symbolism is used through everyday
items to represent the awareness of human character and allowing the prisoners to latch onto and
allow them to keep some value of their life. Memoirs are written to tell the unfiltered story of an event
in an individual s life. Every memoir is written differently occurring to how the individual would like
to focus his or her story. Kerman s idea of a memoir differs from the previous memoir we recently
read. The idea of telling not only her story but also the stories of the individuals that are also being
incarcerated with her. With that being said, it seems that Kerman s audience consists of any person
who is not incarcerated, any person who isn t behind bars. She really focuses on stories that truly
define how the prisoners are treated and what they experience during their sentencing. It is important
to Kerman and the other inmates that people hear the truth of what is really happening

The Case Study On Leanne It
After reading the case study on Leanne it is quite easy to highlight where her stress may be coming
from. Leanne is a single mum to three youngsters that all deliver some sort of learning difficulty or
additional needs. Since the birth of her youngest son Luke, who was born with cerebral palsy, Leanne
s life has changed dramatically. The birth of a child to any parent can be traumatic, but to have a
difficult labour, resulting in a child having a disability, is challenging in more than one way. Since the
birth of Luke, Leanne s stress seems to have gone from bad to worse. Leanne left her job to look after
her disable son Luke, meaning she no longer could enjoy the social aspects that came with her job.

If you score 150 300 units, this implies you have a 50% chance of suffering from a major breakdown
in the next 2 years and anything over 300 raises the odds to about 80% (Holmes and Rahe, 1967). In
retrospect to Leanne, I have only so far mentioned a few of the stressful life events that are occurring
and if I was to add up her units with just these few events, she would be scoring 65 units for a marital
separation, 44 units for a major change in the health or behaviour of a family member, 18 units for
major change in social activities. 29 for major changes in work and 38 in major changes in financial
state. These alone without all her other problems and issues add up to 194 units; meaning per Holmes
Rahe model, she is more likely to have a breakdown in the next 2 years. Even though the SRRS does
not take into consideration the individual differences in this model and the data does not prove that
stress causes illness, therefore we cannot say that life changes cause illness. However, there appears to
be a relationship between life changes and illness; consequently, giving you an insight into just how
stressful Leanne s life is. Additionally, Leanne is also facing daily hassles in her life. Research shows
that daily hassles affect our long term health and mood and may take more of a toll on our health than
even major life events, like bereavement; due to the frequency of the stressors occurring. Leanne is
facing the same

Luke 15:8 (NIV) Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn t she light a lamp,

Of silver. In Psalms 68:30 signifies as fragments, and not properly money.
Psalms 68:30 (KJV) Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of
the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in

Olive oil was in abundance and therefore the oil was not costly.
We have the luxury of electricity today. Unfortunately, she did not have any electricity.
Most homes at that time would contain several oil lamps and the inside of the home was about as dim
as a 40 watt light bulb.
Still she did not take a lax attitude towards her lost possession. She knew if she was going to find this
coin.
1. You have to stay focused. She did not allow the lighting in the house to stop her. She was not
focused on how dim the house may have been. Her mindset was to find the coin.
2. Use what you got. There is a time when you will not have all the tools you feel you need. It should
not cause you to give in. This woman did not have proper lighting, but she stayed focused and worked
diligently.
If you are going to find your way out, maybe, you will have to sweep your house clean.
The woman swept the house. She uses her broom to reach into corners and under tables, areas where
she could not see. Something you must go beyond the normal.

What Is Cleopatra A Role Model
Cleopatra was born in 69 BC in Alexandria, Egypt and died on August 30th, 30 BC.
She was born an Egyptian princess who was the most loved child in the Greek Macedonian family.
When Cleopatra was eighteen years old her father Ptolemy X11 passed away and she became ruler of
Egypt with her younger brother Ptolemy X111 who was only ten years old. She married him even
though she did not get along with him. In Egypt at that time it was tradition to marry family so that the
blood line would continue throughout the generations.
Cleopatra was very well educated, charming, cunning and clever. She was one of the most powerful
Egyptian rulers in history. She was able to speak in several languages including her native Greek and
fluent Egyptian. She was one of the most popular Egyptian queens and the last pharaoh of Egypt.
Cleopatra was also the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty, a Greek Macedonian who ruled Egypt.
One of Cleopatra s greatest achievements was to improve the role of woman within her society.
Through her own daily life she inspired many women to see marriage as a partnership where each
person in the marriage had their own responsibilities that needed to be satisfied. Cleopatra was a
successful queen who became a role model to all women in her time. ... Show more content on

Literary Analysis of Dr Heidegger s Experiment
In the short story Dr. Heidegger s Experiment by Nathaniel Hawthorne, there is a great deal of literary
elements used to enhance the story. For example, imagery is used to draw the reader s attention further
into the story by having them see it happening in their head and allegory is used to pull the reader
away from the story by referencing things that happened somewhere else. While these two literary
elements are both used to magnify different parts of the story, as well as counterbalance each other, the
literary device that this essay will be focused on is symbolism. While it appears in many parts of the
story one of the most obvious uses of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nathaniel Hawthorne introduces him by stating that he had wasted his best years, and his health and
substance, in the pursuit of sinful pleasures. So what immoral acts did he commit? It is never
outrightly stated but through his actions the reader can assume that in his prime he chased after
women like some people chase after their dreams and after he got tired of running, he used alcohol to
rehydrate. Due to these characteristics the Colonel represents lust. Immediately after the fountain
water takes its effect on the group, Colonel Killigrew turns his attention to the female potion drinker.
After ogling at her he remarks My dear widow, you are charming! It is stated that all of the men once
pined for her but their newfound youth gives them a newfound strength and also helps them to forget
everything they learned by growing old. A fight erupts over who will win the lady s favor. The fight
soon ends with no winner but it does not really matter because the men were only fighting due to their
characteristics of greed, lust, and arrogance.
The next visitor to be described was a Mr. Gascoigne. It is said that Mr. Gascoigne was a ruined
politician, a man of evil fame. Following the initial disbelief, he drank the water from the fountain of
youth and found that it brought back the body, mind, and beliefs of his younger self. While he did
spend a few moments looking at the newly transformed female guest, he almost immediately turned

The Impact Of Internet On Politics In The United States
What are the impacts of the internet on politics in the United States?
Throughout the years the impact of the internet on society has evolved in many different ways. Since
the creation of the internet its purpose in society has also evolved in various ways. At its simplest the
internet is a tool that can be used for communication. As many of us know the internet is a flexible
tool unlike any others that one can shape to fulfill their vision. In recent years the internet has emerged

Due to the increase in the media s use of the internet, the internet has resulted in an increase of
influence over politics in the United States. Due to the current influence the Internet has over the
American society it has caused the open freedom of the internet to influence politics, led to fake news
stories which can effect public opinion, , and a rise of social media which results in a rise to political
opinions. The internet has resulted in an incomparable freedom for Americans which is the ability to
put anything that one wants on the internet. This freedom is given to Americans through the first
Amendment of the right to free speech. Everyday Americans take advantage of the first Amendment.
Due to the creation of the internet Americans can now voice their opinion to millions of others. The
medium of the internet has caused a modern interpretation of the First Amendment. The Internet has
led to an increase in Independent websites, or blogs, which report the news outside of the mainstream
media. These blogs are not tied to journalistic standards of reporting. Some in the media feel that the

Please whatever you do don t let the depressing facts about the dollar keep you from making money in
2008. What the pessimistic press isn t telling you is how you can profit from the lowest dollar in 15
years. There is a extraordinary opportunity heading your way if you know how to seize it.
But first let me explain how the falling dollar really works. Then you ll see with your own eyes how
you can profit. A falling dollar does two things:
* Makes foreign imports more expensive
* Makes US exports cheaper on the world market
The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more jobs
for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S. multinationals.
And that s just the half of it.
Because a cheaper dollar makes foreign products more expensive, Americans buy more American
goods as well creating even more U.S. jobs. On a purely psychological level, it does even more than
that: It creates greater investor and consumer confidence, as more Americans are working, more
consumers are

How Muscoskeletal Systems Affect The Running Speed Of Homo...
Juan Vielma

How Muscoskeletal systems affect the running speed of Homo sapiens Acinonyx jubatus Why do
cheetahs run faster than humans for short intervals but humans run for a longer time? The cause of this
is because the cheetah and human contain different muscle fibers in their body. The different muscle
fiber results in the muscles being used differently depending on the situation. In this research we will
identify what the different muscle fibers are and how they work in each organism. The A. jubatus and
the H. sapiens have completely different body structures when compared to each other. The reason as
to which they are being compared is to identity the similarities and differences in muscle and muscle
tissue. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objective of the experiment is to understand why the A. jubatus and H. sapiens common ability to
run differs greatly. The experiment will analyze the different type of muscle tissue that each organism
has in their muscles and why the muscle tissues behave differently for each organism. My hypothesis
is that A. jubatus will have a greater amount of a specific muscle fiber in their muscles when
compared to the H. Sapiens. A way to look at the muscle tissue of the A. jubatus is to look at the fiber
composition of the muscles and categorize them. By identifying the fiber composition we will be able
to investigate what each muscle fiber does and what its action is. It is known that skeletal muscles
contain different types of muscle fibers (Burke, 1981). Muscle fibers can be classified into Type I,
Type IIa, Type IIb, and Type IIx by staining them with monoclonal antibody for each myosin heavy
chain isoform and metabolic enzyme activities (Pette and Staron, 1993, 1997) For H. sapiens, there are
two main types of fast contracting muscle fibers which are Type II and those are subdivided into Type
IIa and Type IIb. These type of muscle fibers have different resistances to fatigue. Resistance to
fatigue contributes to how effectively the muscle fibers access energy. The reason H. sapiens are able
to run for much longer is because their leg muscles contain the muscle fibers IIa and IIb. The IIa
muscle fibers have a high capacity for

How Change is Important to Grow Essay
The area of study: change, has helped me deepened my understanding on the different forms of
change and how change can affect people in different way. During my study of Tim Winton s book
The Turning and Michael Jackson s song Man in the Mirror ,I have learnt that change is important in
order for a person to grow and can take many forms in any aspect of our lives. Tim Winton s Big
World has helped me understand a new face of change. The change in the story is about the changing
relationship between the narrator and his best friend Biggie and the narrator s own outlook it in life.
Winton expresses the idea of their changing relationship through secrecy, loyalty, sacrifice and
betrayal and elucidates the principle of relationship by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

from a person who believes that his future is bleak to a person who opened his mind to new
possibilities, which he has gained from his past failures and from his relationship with Biggie.
Tim Winton portrayal of changing relationship in Big World has helped me understand how the
dejection we get from a commensalistic relationship can conclude with a positive perspective on how
relationships are a learning curve for change and experience.
Change plays an important role in constructing emphasis of one s changing perspective and it has
shown how significant one s view is in shaping one s identity and personality that was shown in Tim
Winton s On Her Knees .
In On Her Knees it show s Vic change of perspective and attitudes towards his mother s principle and
work ethic, through his narration in describing his mother without glamour or sugar coating, creating a

due to her manual career. He has a very superficial comprehension and outlook of

Specialized Connective Tissue Analysis
There is another type of dense fibrous connective tissue called aponeurosis. Its tendon like and helps
anchor and move muscles. The structure is similar to tendons and ligaments, there are bundles of
collagenous fibers with lots of fibroblasts ( Aponeurosis , 2015). The fibers run in several directions.
In the knee joint the interosseous membrane of the leg is an aponeurosis that creates a space for the
vessels to run through. Specialized connective tissue consists of bone, cartilage, blood and adipose
tissue. When looking at bone as a tissue we see that it is composed of an extracellular matrix, a variety
of cells, and minerals (Dunleavy, 2015). The extracellular matrix is calcified, and most of the fibers

A beautiful flower with delicate petals sits in a lush green jungle. As a violent storm with fierce winds

innocence from Mary Anne and the devastation becomes engrained to her soul. The Vietnamese

Transformational And Charismatic Leader Grander Than Oprah...
be improving professionally and personally that inspires people to consider her advice. There are
several focal leadership qualities that Oprah Winfrey possesses. You change yourself, you change the
world. Oprah exclaimed, The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can revolutionize his future
by merely changing his attitude (Namin Hedayati, 2013).
Charismatic leaders act in unique ways that have specific charismatic effects on their followers
(Northouse, 2013, pg. 188). Charismatic leaders are strong role models for the beliefs and values they
aspire their followers to adopt. They are identified to be dominant and have a strong desire to
influence others. They also are self confident and have a strong sense of one s own moral values.
No one fits the above description of a transformational and charismatic leader grander than Oprah
Winfrey. Oprah Winfrey acknowledged all over the world by her first name was born in rural
Mississippi and raised by her grandmother until age six when she went to live with her maid mother.
Winfrey overcame countless challenges including being sexually abused at age 9, to become one of
the most dominant media personalities of modern America. As a transformational leader Oprah
Winfrey had a clear vision and mission best seen in her multi award show the Oprah Winfrey Show
whereby she influenced and inspired millions worldwide to dream big. Time magazine named her one

A Critical Analysis Of Jackson Pollock And Steve Jobs
All individuals living within a community, are constantly being influenced by others while they
develop their personalities, habits, and morals. Some people are naturally inclined to follow and others
are confident enough in their own thinking to lead. A leader must think for themselves, allowing their
uniqueness to translate into creative solutions. An individual s decision to follow an unpopular path
will always be either applauded or scrutinized by others, which can be discouraging. It is important for
individuals to both listen to what others have to say about their work, while also remaining confident
in their abilities. Trailblazers like Jackson Pollock and Steve Jobs show that in order for an individual
to successfully take their own path in life and perpetuate it, they must find their calling, be confident
in their abilities, and listen to other s critiques without allowing themselves to become filled with
pressure or self doubt. Jackson Pollock succeeded in developing a new artistic technique to depict the
world by accepting culture s initial reactions understandingly and remaining confident in himself.
Pollock broadly describes the origin of his use of abstract expressionism in a 1949 interview with
William Wright. He explains how he practiced many of the great historical art techniques in school,
but felt that the modern painter cannot express this age, the airplane, the atom bomb, the radio, in the
old forms of the Renaissance or of any other past culture

  • 2. Tantalizing Fragments Of A Lost Whole Analysis Visiting a Charlatan, A brief summary of David Mathisen s Article, Tantalizing Fragments of a Lost Whole : The ancient myths of humanity begin to yield their secrets. This article is written by David Mathisen, the author of a series of books Stars Myths of the World, and How to Interpret Them (Hancock and Mathisen, Warner n.d.). Upon first glimpse of this article, the reader gets the feeling that the author may have evidence or insight into something new and mysterious. Upon further examination, logical fallacies, ink blotting and cherry picking become obvious ( Carl Sagan Presents His quot;Baloney Detection Kit quot;: 8 Tools for Skeptical Thinking | Open Culture n.d.). The lack of scientific evidence, peer revision or comprehensive language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sharing ideas, stories and origin myths, would have been a widely used form of communication, especially with the possibility of language barriers. The stories that make up the Christian bible for example, have roots in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Greece (Campbell 1959). These cultures did interact with one another, and Mathisen does nothing to scientifically prove his assertion that all cultures stemmed from a mother civilization and the entire shared language was based on the ... • 4. Power And Power Of Women In Lysistrata By Aristophanes Aristophanes is thought to have been born between 447 and 445 BC in Athens, during a period in which Athens had cultural and political dominance in Greece. In Athens during the year 411, the disapproval of the war by wealthy citizens led to the destruction of the democracy and the creation of an oligarchy. Aristophanes wrote Lysistrata during this time of political strife. Lysistrata is a play about a Lysistrata, an Athenian matron, that asks all the women of Greece to refrain from having sex with their husbands until the men sign a peace treaty to end the Peloponnesian war. The women s power and leadership displayed in the play was in direct contrast with the legitimate role of women in Ancient Greece. Lysistrata shows women of strength, power, and determination. Although, Aristophanes occasionally presents the women in a stereotypical manner, his positive portrayals of women overwhelms this, whereas the men in his play are never shown in a favorable fashion. Regardless of Aristophanes s intent, I argue that the ancient Greek play, Lysistrata, empowers women even to this day. Aristophanes shows the intelligence and power of women in his play Lysistrata. The women in Ancient Greece had little rights, especially in politics. Women stayed at home and were kept separate from society. Their primary role was to birth and care for children. However, in Lysistrata, the women are intervening in politics, and Lysistrata works as the leader that bands the women of Greece together. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Representation Of Helen In Euripides Women Of Troy The representation of Helen in Homer s work and with how she is depicted in Euripides Women of Troy enables the reader to understand different perspectives of Helen s personality seen throughout both texts. Furthermore, these comparative methods in both texts will raise questions and awareness to the depiction of Helen. In this essay, I will explore the perspective of how Euripides displays a harsher judgement of Helen than in Homer s text. Firstly, Helen was one of the most inspired characters in The Iliad. Helen was depicted as powerless, beautiful and an object. After Paris taking Helen home, she realizes that Paris is not able to realize the consequences of her disobedience. Homer allows the reader to understand that Helen s decisions are made for her. For instance, Aphrodite s involvement in the duel on Helen s behalf triggered Helen s thoughts on blaming the g ds for the war. By blaming Aphrodite, Helen shows her disrespect for the g ds. However, Helen does not have a choice when she faces her decisions. For example, Aphrodite s ordered her to return to the bedroom and make love with Paris. Helen rebelled and later on, Aphrodite enraged told her to not provoke [her]... or in [her] immortal rage [she] may just toss [her] over, hate [her] as [she] adores [her] with a vengeance (Iliad, 3. 480 482). Secondly, Homer enables the reader to understand that Helen s guilt and terrible beauty is cursed and he is not depicting her harshly. In addition, the g ds did not allow ... • 6. Comparison Between Hamlet And Hamlet Hamlet Vs. Hamlet: A Comparison Between Films Laurence Olivier (1948) and Kenneth Branagh (1996) both created films about the Shakespearean play Hamlet, yet they are both very different. The two films were created fifty years apart and present their film using their own perspectives and interpretations of Shakespeare s Hamlet while using the same themes Shakespeare had. Two important themes are the use of technology and treatment of women. In Laurence Olivier s 1948 film, women are objectified; this reflects on the year of production. The abuse in the character roles were more admissibly shown by gender roles. Hamlet is presented as a very controlling person and is very controlling of Ophelia. He manipulates her into having sex with him and shows other forms of relentless abuse towards Ophelia. Furthermore, Hamlet reveals no other signs of affection for her other those of lust. Unlike the version filmed by Kenneth Branagh in 1996, the date filmed is an important factor, as it demonstrated how men interacted with women. In Olivier s film, Hamlet is stereotypically masculine monotonous and aggressive. In the beginning of the first scene, Hamlet appears to be emotionless, until he abruptly points to Claudius and aggressively yells All but one! The scene ends with Hamlet exerting his power over Ophelia by throwing Ophelia to the ground and leaving her on the steps to lure Polonius and Claudius out from behind the curtain. Hamlet realizes what he has done to Ophelia, but leaves the room without helping her up or apologizes for what he has done, even though his plan had failed. It is clear that Hamlet s plan to use Ophelia as bait had failed because they could not have seen him or Ophelia from their side of the curtain. Polonius confirms this when he says, No need to tell us, we have heard it all . In contrast, Kenneth s Hamlet stops once he sees what he had done to Ophelia and goes back to her. Kenneth s Hamlet is more emotional. He sheds tears, expresses pain in his voice, deeply sighs, and overall is less physical with Ophelia. These differences between Kenneth and Olivier s versions of the character Hamlet reflect the era of which they were created. In Olivier s time, abuse of women was permitted; a man ... • 7. The Effect of the Death Penalty in Texas The Effect of the Death Penalty in Texas Introduction A lot of heat and controversy surrounds capital punishment in today s society. The death penalty was built into the Texas justice system in 1835 and has retained most of its strength compared to the rest of the states. The famous motto Don t Mess with Texas stands true when concerning the death penalty; In Kenneth William s article, Texas: Tough on Murderers or on Fairness?. Williams states, No one promotes this message [Don t Mess with Texas] more than Texas prosecutors with their use of the death penalty. While the nation as a whole has become somewhat ambivalent about capital punishment, Texas prosecutors continue to seek death sentences on a regular basis, and the state ... They randomly selected address throughout Texas and sent them a questionnaire filled with questions such as, Do you support the death penalty? , Should there be a waiting period to ensure an innocent life is not taken? , and Do you have confidence in the death penalty system? Their research found that the majority of Texans still support the death penalty, yet they have little confidence in the system. The subjects surveyed expressed concern with the due process in which it is administered to inmates. Alternative Research However, In Morgan Reynolds online article, Fair and Effective in Texas on the Heartland Institute website, she states that she believes the death penalty in Texas does serve as a deterrent. She states that in Texas the death penalty is saved for the worst criminals who are truly deserving. She says that crime rates in Texas have fallen nearly sixty percent since the state started using the sentence for selective crimes in the 1990 s. She also states that if there is no death penalty than what value you are putting on the life of the victim. On the website Waco Trib, Tommy Witherspoon writes in his article Pursuit of death penalty slows in McLennan County, Texas , that the amount of inmates being sentences to death row is dwindling each year in Texas because of the new law enacting the option of life without parole. • 8. Teenage Pregnancy In El Paso, Texas The discussion of why El Paso. Texas has one of the highest teenage pregnancy is a challenging one. Is teenage pregnancy cause by lack of sex education, abstinence teaching or birth control accessibility. I believe that the answer to teenage pregnancy is a truly difficult subject to tackle, due to the many missing variables. Nevertheless, I think that the reason why El Paso, Texas has a high teenage pregnancy because of the disagreement between the education system and parent s belief s on when to teach young kids about their bodies. First, many parents believe that sex education in an early age awakens the curiosity in young boys and girls, especially in a stage in their life when they are not responsible enough. • 9. Learning Asl After The Classroom Introduction As a hispanic, it is a rite of passage to speak Spanish. With two full time working parents, I learned Spanish from my care takers in a home environment. Having care takers that are immigrants and not highly educated, grammar is not a strong suit and so it was not focused on when I was learning. Since it was not a school environment, basic grammar rules were memorized through examples not written and explained. In high school, I took half a year of American Sign Language. Learning ASL after the critical age in a classroom, made it difficult for me to memorize the grammar rules. On the first day of class, the professor came in and only communicated through sign language. After explaining the expectations of the curriculum, she highly encouraged the class to speak in sign language for the semester. My professor stressed vocabulary and word order and spent very little time on facial expressions, which effect the meanings of signs. Along with ASL, I took two years of Spanish in high school. Having two teachers, I had different experiences in the classroom. My first teacher solely taught the class on memorization, minimal rules were mentioned and accents were not addressed in class. Much of the class was taught in English and my teachers Spanish was not the best. My second teacher challenged the students, he required all responses to be in Spanish, active participation and daily homework. He focused on grammar rules and applying them in different situations, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Development Process In Human Development The development process in Human Development begins in before conception with heredity. The next important stage in development is prenatal development. The is the stage of growth after conception and before birth. In this stage, there are many risk factors to consider that can affect the development of an embryo either during the pregnancy or after the pregnancy. A very well known risk factor during this time is smoking, drink and the use of drugs. Teratogen is the different agents such as, drug, alcohol, and tobacco that can cause different development problems at birth. I conducted a research experiment to see how women felt about these activities they partake in, and if they know the danger it producing toward the normal development of a fetus. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss how I conducted this experiment, and what my finding produced about the matter. Process: The first and hardest part of this experiment was finding women friend of mine that did not have children already and used drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. I don t have many women friends that don t have kids or are into drugs/alcohol/tobacco. After going down my phone list I could not easily find 4 female friends who meet the qualification to participate in this research assignment. • 11. Parent Child Relationships In King Lear At the core heart of King Lear, we get to see the relationship between father and child. The double plot of King Lear consists of parallel stories of two hapless old fathers and of their children. Regan and Goneril speaks eloquently about the vastness of the love that they hold for their father, though they are speaking falsely, each attempting to appear the most loving and as a result they gain more territory. On the other hand Cordelia refuses to stoop to such pandering stating instead she shows her love through her deeds and which does not possess the oily, flattering ways of her sisters. The major characters involved in parent/child relationships in King Lear are King Lear and his three daughters, Regan, Goneril, and Cordelia (the true and the faithful one), and the other Gloucester and his two sons, Edgar (the legitimate son) and Edmund (the illegitimate son). The octogenarian Lear proposes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They would have genuinely loved their father at one time, but now they seem tired of having been passed over in favour of their younger sister. When Lear states his obvious preference for Cordelia, her sisters feels free to seek their revenge, turning the family s natural order on its ear. Biblical principles can clearly be identified in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. They can be seen through Solzhenitsyn s views on the world as a divine creation, the nature of evil, and faith in the future. The Christian faith is rooted in the belief that God created everything, and that it is good. According to Christian belief, God has a plan for His creation, and therefore there is no need to be pessimistic. At first, this Christian view seems an unlikely fit with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shukhov s attribution of nature to a divine Creator is a fundamental Christian belief (Zamoyska 216). The nature of evil, from the Christian standpoint, is that all evil comes from man s sin. This makes evil a very personal force, rather than something abstract. Schmemann describes the Christian idea of evil as a fall. He states that evil is quot;this fall from on high and the horror, grief and suffering it evokes quot; (41). Evil, or sin, is controlled by the individual. Each person has the ability to choose between right and wrong. In many parts of the novel, prisoners must decide whether or not to help their prison mates. When Shukhov goes to the infirmary, his fellow prisoners save his rations, so he may eat (Solzhenitsyn 25). Later, Tsezar decides to give Shukhov the rest of his cigarette instead of giving it to Fetyukov (31). The Russian authorities and guards have made the decision to carry out the injustices of the prison camp. The freedom of the individual to choose right from wrong, an important idea in Christianity, is obviously present in this novel. Finally, Solzhenitsyn s novel expresses one of the most important Christian principles, hope for the future. In Christianity, since Christ paid the price for the sins of the world, there are no lost causes. Christians have faith that Christ will return someday and that there will be a heaven. Ethical Dilemma And Moral Dilemma GNED 212 Jorawar Singh 30877727 Section 004 Date/Time of Class Wednesday 3:30 PM Part 1 Ethical/Moral Dilemma: Defination Ethical dilemma or moral dilemma is a scenario in which a person has to make choices/decisions depending on the situation or by keeping the net happiness in his mind. He also thinks about the consequences of the decision he will make. In this scenario, I will be describing an ethical dilemma that I faced when I worked with an IT firm. I started to dig this matter and I came to know that after stealing, he was selling that tools into local market. It was his side business and he was earning pretty good. But one day, there was a surprise inventory check conducted by our manager. In that report a huge amount of losses were there. So a notice was issued to all employee regarding the inside stealing and we were asked to give the other person name and our name would be not disclosed. At that point of time I faced an ethical dilemma, whether to give the name of my team leader with a fear of losing my job or whether to keep quiet and let him steal more stuff till no one catches him. The Mormon Belief System The Mormon belief system has many different principles that are unique and set themselves apart from other world religions, one of which being their views on cosmology. The Mormon cosmology belief is the description of the physical and metaphysical universe. Their beliefs on the subject are deeply engrained in the religion s basic faith; cosmology is related to the church s views on divinity, extraterrestrial life, pre mortal existence, and the afterlife. Mormon divinity revolves around the core beliefs in exaltation and eternal progression: the idea that mortals will be given an opportunity to have leading roles in other heavenly kingdoms, themselves. One of the key goals in Mormonism is to achieve exaltation through Jesus s atonement; as a result they inherit godly attributes. Mormonism holds the belief that people who follow God s example will become like gods in the afterlife, having all power, glory, dominion, and knowledge (LDS Church 227). This belief that people may one day become god like figures in the afterlife leads to the assumption that Mormons believe in the existence of other worlds like the one that we live in, that exalted people would be able to rule over. The teachings of Mormonism also include that the exalted will live with their earthly families in the next life and have spirit children (LDS Church 11), continuing the growth of their families. Memoirs are written to tell the unfiltered story of an event in an individual s life. Every memoir is written differently occurring to how the individual would like to focus his or her story. Kerman s idea of a memoir differs from the previous memoir we recently read. The idea of telling not only her story but also the stories of the individuals that are also being incarcerated with her. With that being said, it seems that Kerman s audience consists of any person who is not incarcerated, any person who isn t behind bars. In retrospect to Leanne, I have only so far mentioned a few of the stressful life events that are occurring and if I was to add up her units with just these few events, she would be scoring 65 units for a marital separation, 44 units for a major change in the health or behaviour of a family member, 18 units for major change in social activities. 29 for major changes in work and 38 in major changes in financial state. These alone without all her other problems and issues add up to 194 units; meaning per Holmes Rahe model, she is more likely to have a breakdown in the next 2 years. The objective of the experiment is to understand why the A. jubatus and H. sapiens common ability to run differs greatly. The experiment will analyze the different type of muscle tissue that each organism has in their muscles and why the muscle tissues behave differently for each organism. My hypothesis is that A. jubatus will have a greater amount of a specific muscle fiber in their muscles when compared to the H. Sapiens. A way to look at the muscle tissue of the A. jubatus is to look at the fiber composition of the muscles and categorize them. By identifying the fiber composition we will be able to investigate what each muscle fiber does and what its action is. It is known that skeletal muscles contain different types of muscle fibers (Burke, 1981). Muscle fibers can be classified into Type I, Type IIa, Type IIb, and Type IIx by staining them with monoclonal antibody for each myosin heavy chain isoform and metabolic enzyme activities (Pette and Staron, 1993, 1997) For H. sapiens, there are two main types of fast contracting muscle fibers which are Type II and those are subdivided into Type IIa and Type IIb. These type of muscle fibers have different resistances to fatigue. Resistance to fatigue contributes to how effectively the muscle fibers access energy. The reason H. sapiens are able to run for much longer is because their leg muscles contain the muscle fibers IIa and IIb. The IIa muscle fibers have a high capacity for ... Mary Anne so naive and inexperienced in the world; she wants to embrace it and feel it all full force yielding to the strong winds and giving to its strength. A Critical Analysis Of Jackson Pollock And Steve Jobs All individuals living within a community, are constantly being influenced by others while they develop their personalities, habits, and morals. Some people are naturally inclined to follow and others are confident enough in their own thinking to lead. A leader must think for themselves, allowing their uniqueness to translate into creative solutions. An individual s decision to follow an unpopular path will always be either applauded or scrutinized by others, which can be discouraging. It is important for individuals to both listen to what others have to say about their work, while also remaining confident in their abilities. Trailblazers like Jackson Pollock and Steve Jobs show that in order for an individual to successfully take their own path in life and perpetuate it, they must find their calling, be confident in their abilities, and listen to other s critiques without allowing themselves to become filled with pressure or self doubt.
