Editor's Notes

  1. Hey there my awesome viewers! Lets read the two types of sentences type -1- father is riding a scooter. Mother is carrying presents
  2. Type -2 the sun is shining brightly . grandfather is sleeping on the chair.
  3. In type 1 sentences the sentence structure is father subject is riding –verb and what is he riding –scooter so scooter is object-we use the word ‘object’ to talk about the thing/person that the action is done to. We ca figure out the direct object by using this question format- the subject did what?or the subject (verb)what? In this case-……….. Sometimes a verb can take more than one object. As in the second sentence there is one direct object and one indirect object. We can figure out the indirect object by asking the question for whom or to whom.
  4. so the verbs that need an object be it any noun or pronoun to complete its meaning are called transitive verbs. As in in type 1 sentences if we remove the object the meaning is incomplete-the fater is riding what- a bike,a scooter,a horse what. The mother is carrying what- shopping bags, baby, umbrella what…. The sentence is incomplete or incorrect. So the verbs that require an object-be it any noun or pronoun are called transitive verbs. Here the verbs riding and carrying are transitive verbs
  5. While in type 2 here the sun is subject is shining is verb and how is it shining brightly so it is giving the answer of how its adding meaning to the verb so it is adverb.no oject is there.the sun is shining independently .it doesn’t need any object to shine. Simi grand sub what action is he doing sleeping so sleeping is verb and where is he sleeping on the chair this on the chair is preposition phrase.its giving the answer of where. Here too the verb sleeping doesn’t need any object .
  6. Where as in type 2 sentences And the verbs that don’t require any object to complete their meaning -the effect of verb is on the subject not the object .such verbs are called intransitive verbs.so here the verbs shining and sleeping are intransitive verbs. And that is our today topic tran
  7. Now lets see what happens in the intransitive verbs.unlike their counterpart ,they don’t require any object to make sense.they stand independently and simply accomplish the action.watch this fox- the fox is jumping..the verb jump is a classic example of intransitive verb. You can say the fox jumped into the well. and the sentence is complete without any direct object.
  8. These verbs always have someone or something receiving the action.just like the super hero sacrificing themselves for an object. Opposite to their counterparts these independent spirits can stand alone without needing any object.like a solo artist captivating the audience, they shine bright on their own. Now that we have a grasp on the concept, lets explore some fascinating examples of transitive and intransitive verbs. verbs
  9. Distinguishing between transitive and intransitive verbs can sometimes be challenging.but Fear not .i will give you some secret tips to distinguish them effortlessly.firstly ask what or whom after the verb, the answer will indicate the recipient of the action i.e. direct or indirect object. …… on the other hand intransitive verbs rarely hv direct object and they answer the question where, how when etc.
  10. Alright lets address the common mistakes that many English learners make.sometimes,a verb can be both transitive and intransitive ,depending on how its used in a sentence. Just like a chameleon adapting to its surrounding ,some verbs have dual nature.
  11. Transitive and intransitive verbs= we are here to demystify the the realm of transitive and intransitive verbs.-so grab your favourite beverage, sit back and lets dive into the captivating wold of English grammar
