A common misconception:
§ “Mainframe data is difficult to access”
§ “I want to discover my own services”
§ “I don’t want to be bound by formalised COBOL (or even XML!) data structures”
§ “Solution: let’s hold the data with easier access… maybe a cache/ noSQL DB?”
Certainly not true or necessary!
