The Green Campus Challenge – An inclusive approach towards fostering energy ...Green Campus
Around 30 teams composed by students, faculty and technical staff from several
Portuguese universities created energy efficiency plans to their campuses buildings and
12 finalists were selected. When compared to the present situation, the implementation
of the 12 finalists’ projects would result in annual energy savings of 1.9 GWh and 1.09
ton CO2 avoided. Economic analysis shows that the majority of the suggested actions
are cost effective, with an average return period of 5 years.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Anniversary Master Plan
This plan focuses on sustainable development and the
importance of maintaining the quality of the university’s
grounds and environment. The development strategy for
this plan comprises five main points as follows:
1. Land Use
2. Space Allocation and Landscape
3. Building Maintenance and Art &Cultural Promotion
4. Traffic and Parking
5. University Central Service Center
4
Setting & Infrastructure
8. Land Use
• Use the university grounds
appropriately as there is very limited
open space.
• Land should be allocated to answer
the demands of the majority and
needs of the university as a whole.
• As an institute of higher learning,
Chula must also work to serve and
integrate well with the surrounding
community.
• New buildings should be designed to
best relate to and interact with
nearby buildings to create the most
impressive esthetics.
