Tragedy Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of tragedy can prove to be a daunting task, as it demands a
delicate balance between analytical depth and emotional sensitivity. Delving into the
complexities of tragedy requires a nuanced understanding of literary, historical, or philosophical
contexts, depending on the scope of the essay. The challenge lies not only in presenting a
coherent and well-structured argument but also in capturing the essence of tragic narratives,
which often grapple with profound human experiences.
One must navigate through the intricate web of tragic elements, exploring the depth of
characters, the evolution of plotlines, and the underlying philosophical themes. Moreover, the
emotional resonance associated with tragic narratives necessitates a careful exploration of human
suffering, loss, and the inevitable confrontation with mortality. It is a task that demands the
ability to empathize with the characters and the capacity to convey their struggles with
authenticity.
The research involved in constructing a tragedy essay adds another layer of complexity.
Engaging with scholarly works, critical analyses, and historical perspectives is essential to
provide a well-informed and comprehensive discussion. This research process can be time-
consuming and requires a discerning eye to select relevant sources that contribute to the overall
narrative.
Furthermore, the task is not confined to the academic realm; a successful tragedy essay must
also resonate with readers on a personal and emotional level. Balancing intellectual rigor with a
human connection is a delicate art, requiring the writer to convey the profound impact of tragic
narratives without losing the analytical thread.
In conclusion, the challenge of writing a tragedy essay lies in the intricate interplay between
intellectual depth, emotional resonance, and effective communication. It demands a writer's
ability to navigate through complex narratives, engage with scholarly perspectives, and convey
the universal aspects of human suffering. Despite the difficulty, a well-crafted tragedy essay can
offer valuable insights into the human condition, leaving a lasting impact on both the writer and
the reader.

An Insight Into The Monetary Profits Made From Legal
And...
The purpose of this report is to provide an insight into the monetary profits made
from legal and illegal drugs and truly how profitable are these industries. Such
areas as gangs, pharmacies, and governmental agencies will be viewed for the
money made from the drugs they deal with. Questions such as: who do private
companies make their money off of and how much is being made? Should the
government support the taxation of legal as well as controversial illegal drugs? What
can be done to stop the drugs or control the drugpusher s profit? Finally, should the
United States government legalize it to collect on the money being made? The
answers to these questions will provide the reader with enough information to provide
an informed view on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drug Cartels gauge their actions based on this criteria. This paper explores the
history of drugs, both legal and illegal, the profitability of both the legal industry
and illegal enterprise. It will also look at what is being done to combat the illegal
aspect of the issue as well what is being done to keep the margins up and the coffers
filled. Drugs, illegal and legal, have been a part of the history of the United States for
almost three centuries. From the time when the 19th century began, Americans went
from alcohol as the preferred mood altering substance to a new realm of addiction.
During this time Americans were acquaint with wonder drugs such as morphine,
heroin, and cocaine. Since that discovery, our society has confronted the problems of
drug abuse and addiction (DEA, 2015). Once the 20th century began, the United
States, contending with its first drug epidemic in the country s short history,
progressively started effective limitations to combat the epidemic. In the United
States through internal law enforcement they began to fight the issue domestically.
Through cooperation and sometimes without the United States began spearheading
a world crusade to limit opium and coca crops (DEA, 2015). By World War II, the
use of drugs in America had declined significantly enough for it to no longer be
considered a significant issue. It was then seen as a borderline social problem and

Summary Of The Response To Intervention
Chapter 3 The Response to Intervention, Referral, and Placement Process Reflection
and Summary By: S. Elizabeth Jackson Examining the Response to Intervention
(RTI) ProcessResponse to Intervention (RTI) is an in school service program
designed to guarantee that all students are getting a high quality education. Before
students are referred for special education services, it is essential that they receive
effective teaching designed to meet their own learning requirements. All students in
public schools are required to be included in the RTI program. While the different
program may vary from state to state, the basis of the models are the same. The RTI
process has three tiers. In tier one is labeled curriculum based classroom... Show more

Teachers, during tier one, should closely follow the GREAT guidelines. Teachers
are also expected to differentiate instruction for those who are struggling. Tier two
teachers expected to collect extensive data on the at risk student. Teachers are to
collect data not only on information the student got wrong, but also when they were
correct. This aids in a more correct placement, if needed. The final tier of the RTI
process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into play. In order for a
student to be admitted into tier three, there has to be adequate evidence to support
this claim. The teacher needs to continue to collect data to provide information on
whether or not the student has made progress with the interventions in place. The
teacher may asked to organize the data collected during the previous interventions.
The text suggest that the teacher may be asked to collect this data in the form of a
visual aid, such as a bar graph. Process of Determining if a Student has a Disability
and the Responsibilities of the Teacher When all the tiers of RTI have been utilized,
the Students Support Team (SST) decides if the next appropriate step for the student
is a referral to special education. Biased on the information gathered during the RTI
process, the SST will appraise and see if the student meets the criteria for one of the
IDEA categories of disability. The disability or impairment must have an unwanted

education is required. The employee should have the proper training too. In order to

Hand Hygiene Research Paper

Infection Control: Hand Hygiene
Introduction
Hand washing is an easy and effective way to help prevent infection. Hand hygiene is
done frequently throughout the day at ChildServe. This paper will explore the non
compliance of performing hand hygiene to maximize its effectiveness of infection
prevention, and the proper ways to do so. It will also discuss how this practice is
implemented at ChildServe.
Article Summary One The article written by Atici et al. (2014) studied compliance of
hand hygiene of healthcare workers in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit
in a hospital in Istanbul (p. 1). This study observed the compliance of hand ... Show

This article explores the non compliance among practitioners and the negative
effects from it. Hand hygiene non compliance may increase patient mortality and
morbidity rates, and raise healthcare costs (Mortell, 2012, p. 1011). Multiple
infection prevention and control programs to improve hand hygiene among staff
have been utilized and yet these all appear to have failed to achieve the required
and desired compliance in hand hygiene (Mortell, 2012, p. 1011). Throughout the
whole article Mortell emphasizes that hand hygiene evidence and advice has been
continuously disregarded by clinicians. We have all seen educated and
knowledgeable clinicians fail to practice their organization s hand hygiene
recommendations. One possible explanation for this is that there is an ethical gap
(Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). This article discusses a study on hand hygiene
compliance for 2010 and 2011 in a cardiac surgical intensive care unit; which was
measured by observational surveillance and audited daily. During the first year of
the study, the nurses in that unit provided the doctors and other paramedical staff
with continual education of the WHO (2009) recommendations, training and
observational surveillance feedback. By doing so, hand hygiene compliance was
maintained at greater than 70% (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). During the following
year, doctors were not receptive to nursing requests to comply with WHO
requirements, which made the nurses stop providing ongoing support to doctors as
they had in 2010. The outcome observed was that physician compliance fell to 60%
or less (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). Only the nurses and paramedics kept up with
compliance of greater than 80% because of ongoing education, observation, feedback
and a genuine belief in the benefits of hand hygiene to patient safety (Mortell, 2012,
p. 1012). Mortell (2012) states that given that most clinicians
Ambiguity In Hamlet
Madness is considered a key theme in William Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, which
is believed to be the most powerful and significant tragedy among Shakespearean
works. The theme of Prince Hamlet s madness occupies the whole picture of the
play although there is no certainty about if Prince Hamlet is real mad or he pretends
to be mad, as the playitself is sophisticated and incomprehensible. Any reader of
Hamletwill notice that this play evokes a lot of endless questions, and the issue of
the certainty of Prince Hamlet s madness is one of these questions. Therefore,
Shakespeare puts us as an audience in an endless circle of ambiguity through reading
his play. The mad role Prince Hamlet plays in Hamlet creates a confusion about
whether his madness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We notice at the first that Hamlet s madness is just feigned in order to distance
himself from any expected threat might he receive from the King, and thus he can
take the revenge. Nevertheless, our first impression about Hamlet s sanity changes as
the following scene indicates that Hamlet s madness seems to be unfeigned. In this
scene Hamlet reveal his mental disorder by admitting that the Ghost he met is just a

Vulnerabilities Amoung Poor Women and Children
I wish to discuss about women and children being the most endangered amongst the
poor. In the essay, I will analyze their problems, examine their susceptibility to
poverty and discuss on how to eradicate or reduce to the barest women these issues.
Women and children are the most susceptible class amidst the povertystricken because
of the following reasons they do not have opportunities to access essential social
services such as education and health, lower or no recruitment chances, no access to
loan facilities and they are usually excluded from society, war and natural calamities
such as the Rwandan genocide, floods, and earthqu akes amongst other examples .
UNIFEM: 2000 recognized that the disparity amongst men and women entangled in
the wheel of impoverishment has continuously increased in the past decade, a
prodigy generally referred to as the feminization of poverty .
The specific problems faced by poor women are lack of resources as a consequence
of their earning less salary than men even if they possess the same eligibity and
work for the same total number of hours, they are restricted to jobs that pays meager
salaries such as cooks, cleaners, nannies, secretaries etc, they spend extra hours
providing voluntary care giving than men especially in the African culture where it is
imposed on the woman that if any family member is indisposed, it is her
responsibility to cater for that person, they carry the major responsibility of bringing

Changes In The Sun Also Rises By Ernest Hemingway
War Breeds Destruction The outcome and brutality of the Great War causes the
change and promotion of many things in Ernest Hemingway s novel, The Sun Also
Rises. Some of the most evident changes the Great War causes are the changes in
the traditional roles of men and women and in the promotion in the use of alcohol.
Hemingway expresses these changes through the actions of some of the books main
characters, most notably Jake and Brett. The novel s characters perform these taboo
and abnormal actions in response to the Great War and the war s impact on the
characters. The Great War changes the traditional roles for Jake because he got hurt
in that war. (Hemingway 24) The Great War causes Jake to become impotent, and the

The alcohol allows the characters to forget their problems. Under the wine I lost
the disgusted feeling and was happy. (150) Jake abuses the alcohol to forget all his
troubles which come from his medical injury of impotency. Sadly turning to
alcohol never attempts to resolve the troubles of Jake. Much like certain dinners
[Jake] [remembers] from the war , alcohol did little to deter things from happening,
alcohol just made them careless; alcohol allows them to escape their troubles. Not
only does the alcohol allow the characters of the novel to forget their problems, the
alcohol is a source of destruction for the characters of the novel. Majority of the
time when Jake or his friends are under the influence, they end up getting into a
fight. These fights can either be physical altercations or verbal altercations. These
altercations bring out the worst in the characters. One altercation in particular Jake
and his friends project their anger and frustration onto Cohn. Cohn is basically told
he is a complete waste and is told he is just like a steer because he follows Brett
and Jake. Alcohols uses are for coping and for destruction. This abuse of alcohol is
seen as foreign in society. The consumption of alcohol is an occasional thing in
society, not a form of therapy for
My Sassy Girl As A Hero s Journey
The Hero s Journey is an observation of the hero archetype in literature, as well as a
story template and idea. John Campbell s The Hero with a Thousand Faces details
each step a hero may pass through during his adventure. The book contains detailed
descriptions of each of the twenty one steps. Although, these can be summarized into
five basic steps: Call to Adventure, Refusal of the Call, Crossing the Threshold
/Passage into the Realm, The Road of Trials, and Return to the World of the Common
Day. The Heros Journey archetype is represented heavily in popular culture. My Sassy

The Girl throws up and passes out on the train due to excess alcohol consumption.
This is where Gyeon woo s journey begins. His call to adventure is the choice to
either help or not help The Girl. He initially dumps her at the subway but he turns
around, picks her up, and takes her to a motel. These are the steps Refusal of the
Call and Passage into the Realm respectively. The majority of the film takes place
during The Road of Trials step. This is the step that Gyeon woo articulates his
journeys goal besides finding love. He is continually surprised at The Girl s
beauty, brazenness and lack of respect for him. Even more odd, The Girl forces
Gyeon woo on a sequence of bizarre dates despite her flippant nature. After one of
these dates again ends in Gyeon woo carrying her back to the motel, he vows to,

him, allows her to forget her boyfriend s death. His refusal to quit after suffering

Blood And Inheritance Patterns
Humans can only have one of the following four types of blood: A, B, AB, or O. A
and B are codominant alleles, and O is a recessive allele. The type of blood a
person inherits depends on the blood type of their parents. Humans get one allele
from their mom and one allele from their dad. The presence or absence of certain
types of antibodies and antigens determines the different blood types. People have
different types and combinations of antibodies and antigens. The goal of this
investigation was to test different blood samples to figure out which father each of
the three children belonged to. To do this, the group had to figure out the possible
genotypes the children could of inherited from the possible pairs of parents. Using
this knowledge, conclusions had to be made relating to who the father was of each of
the children, either Mr. Johnson or Mr. Wilson. The... Show more content on

Johnson s children his biological offspring? This question relates to all of this
background information because in order to answer it, the group had to use all of
their prior knowledge of blood and inheritance patterns. During this experiment, it
was vital to follow all safety instructions. The procedures used during the
experiment are as follows. First, two drops of Child 1 s blood sample was added
to well A and well B of a blood typing slide. Then, the group stirred in the Anti A
serum with the sample in well A for ten seconds with a clean toothpick. Also, the
Anti B serum was stirred in, using a clean toothpick, with the blood sample in well
B for ten seconds. The lab group observed the effects of the blood sample to
determine what type of blood the sample contained. The key factor was to watch to
see whether or not the blood clumped together (aggulation).
Hippocrates Temperaments
Hippocrates, also known as the father of medicine, studied cadavers as part of his
work and came up with four different temperaments based on what fluid he saw
inside the bodies. He decided that if he saw blood inside, the person must have been
sanguine. If he saw yellow bile, it would mean that the person had lived his or her
life as a choleric. When Hippocratessaw phlegm in the cadaver s abdominal cavity,
he concluded the person must have been a phlegmatic. The fourth and final
temperament he came up with was the temperament of a melancholic, who had black
bile in his or her body. As I have learned what each of these temperaments mean, I
have put them in the order that I think best describes me.

temperament fits my personality the most because I tend to feel sympathy towards

would say that about 40% of my personality is sanguine because of how much I like
being around others and spending time helping them. However, as much as I do like
being social, there are times that I enjoy being by myself and out of the center of

The second most dominant temperament in my own psyche is the phlegmatic

like to be social and talk to others, but I don t particularly care to get into arguments

However, I do try to live up to the standards I set for myself, which can sometimes

Positive airway pressure (PAP) is the standard treatment for patients with moderate
to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA); a sleep related breathing disorder (SRBD)
characterized by episodic complete or partial upper airway occlusion during sleep.1
Over the past years, the relationship between SRBD and cardiac arrhythmias have
been thoroughly investigated.2 7 Previous studies have shown that obstructive sleep

the cardiac autonomic function and such impairment correlated with the severity of

Legalizing Marijuana, An Ethical Perspective
Legalizing Marijuana: An Ethical Perspective
In today s society, many ethical concerns arise on a daily basis, especially when it
comes to the topic of legalizing marijuana. Many individuals have relied on the fact
that marijuana was illegal, when determining whether smoking it should be
considered unethical. However, many studies have shown that the effects of
marijuana are not as detrimental as they were once made out to be. Legalizing
marijuana can be an extremely controversial topic because several people have
strong beliefs concerning why it should not be legalized, while a significant amount
of people have stronger arguments, as to why it should be legalized. When it comes
to looking at the ethical standpoint of legalizing ... Show more content on

Another principle includes restrictions on driving while under the influence of
marijuana. NORML stated, Although cannabisis said by most experts to be safer
than alcohol and many prescription drugs with motorists, responsible cannabis
consumers never operate motor vehicles in an impaired condition (NORML, 1996,
para, 6). Therefore, the no driving principle is implied. These are two of the most
significant principles presented by NORML.
The next principle is described as set and setting. The NORML organization states,
The responsible cannabis user will carefully consider his/her set and setting,
regulating use accordingly (NORML, 1996, para. 7). Meaning, adults should be
responsible enough, when using marijuana, to take into consideration several
different aspects of one s life. For instance, it is important for marijuana users to
consider his or her set, meaning the individual s attitude, personality, and
experience. The term setting refers to an individual s physical and social condition
or circumstances (NORML, 1996, para. 8). Therefore, individuals should consider
and analyze a number of factors before choosing to smoke or just choosing to just
say no. Two other principles presented by NORML include resisting abuse and
respecting the rights of others. Therefore, individuals should steer clear of any sign
of abuse and should not violate the rights of others when
Technology And The Future Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
The package comes, but there is no deliverer. A tractor is plowing the field after a
successful harvest, but there is no driver. This is the future of technology, and more
specifically, unmanned aerial vehicles. UAVs, more commonly referred to as drones,
have been advancing for decades now. Their advancement has not come without
opposition though, and while this argument is concentrated behind drones role in
technologies machination over society, the true reality is a shift to mechanization, a
progression the United Stateshas seen before. Historically, many economic shifts have

In addition, farmers who are subject to working conditions along with the simple
nature of human abilities which detract from their ability to inspect a field compared
to technology, are eliminated in UAV practices of inspection. The benefit transfers
down the line of agriculture when the product the farmer was able to grow has ended
up at the grocery store, and by the same means, the support for the drones integration
is bound to follow.
More acute compared to the agricultural and rural sectors, is the commercial
interest of drones through manufacturers and retailers like Amazon. These have
come in headlines labeled as an innovation and as an intrusion, bringing more
opposition than other areas of use. In an article by Trevir Nath, it is estimated that
every year integration is delayed; the US loses $10 billion in financial growth
(Nath 2). This is undermined by the citizens of Syracuse who believe that as the
nation becomes more accustomed to drones...fewer people will oppose their use in
war and in commercial application that intrude upon American s privacy (Semuels
2). Such strong arguments have came to light because of the growing drone hub in
their area. They worry about the local economy as well, and more importantly jobs.
Dave Kashmer, a protestor, falls under the opposition, and stated It s not going to
produce jobs for a Syracusan... These arguments lend to a primary consequence of a
shift to drone technology a job market shift. Syracusans

The Social and Cultural Implications of Internet to our Society This research paper
aims to make readers understand the implications of having internet in our society. It
will further enhance the knowledge that we have on having the Internet part of each
and everyone s life, may it be good or bad. Although it benefits most of us, this
paper will also show the bad effects of the Internet. It will show different factors on
to which the Internet can be beneficiary or disadvantageous. It will also relate the
benefits and disadvantages to our society today. People, nowadays, turn to the Internet
to assist us with our needs, may it be big or small. It has effectively changed the life
and the way the world communicates through the media. Internet access can be
acquired by anyone. We have grown dependent on it, thus, making it part of our
society. But the question here is, what are the consequences of our continuous
dependency? Will it affect how people view certain things? With the wide array of
information on the internet, will the millions of information help in sustaining the
evolution of our society? During the start of the Internet in 1981, it received
numerous criticisms in terms of its role in the growth and well being of our society.
It was praised and at the same time, criticized all
Antonio Vivaldi Accomplishments
Antonio Vivaldi, a major composer during the Baroque period, made significant
changes during his time, from numerous works to a teacher at the Pieta to a priest.
Vivaldi excelled writing in many genres; however, he is known mainly for his
concertos (Hanning Burkholder 264). In the case of the Baroqueera, Antonio Vivaldi s
contributions profoundly impacted music for the violin, ushering in a period of
popularity for the instrument. I will talk about four issues that need to be
addressed in order to perform early music today: tempo, material, articulation, and
ornamentation. I will discuss what tempo meant during the Baroque period, the
material required for the Baroque tone, how articulation was handled, as well as
the purpose of ornamentation. Vivaldi composed a multitude of works, comprising
over 350 solo concertos with over 230 of those concertos for violin alone (Talbot).
He worked at the Pieta, an orphanage and school for girls (Hanning Burkholder
265). Vivaldi s concertos imbued qualities of fresh melodies, clarity of form, and
color between the solo and orchestra (Hanning Burkholder 264). His Concertoin A
Minor, Op. 3, No. 6. demonstrates the virtuosity of the violin. The idea of the
concerto is still upheld today, showcasing the soloist s ability. The first point I like to
examine is tempo. Tempo, in the Baroque period, did not necessarily indicate the
speed of rate at which notes move. Rather, instead of actual beats per minute, tempo
referred to the
Franz Fanon Decolonization
1) According to Frantz Fanon decolonization is a violent event. Explain what this
claim means along with why Fanon supports it. According to Fanon, decolonization
is the substitution of one species of mankind by another . (Fanon, 1) By species,
Fanon refers to the colonist and another are the colonized. It is a violent event
because it is the processes when colonized become independent from the colonizers.
The consciousness of the colonized demands freedom and change of order. At the

By this logic, only philosophers can become a ruling class of the society because

Sorrowful Black Death is Not a Hot Ticket and Seduction and Betrayal
Toni Morrison and bell hooks share the same views on how white America
envisions blacks. In bell hooks essays Seduction and Betrayal and Sorrowful Black
Death is Not a Hot Ticket she focuses in on the portrayal of African Americans on the
big screen. In Seduction and Betrayal hooks uses Spike Lee s Crooklyn to
demonstrate how invaluable the life of a black person is. In Sorrowful Black
Death Is Not a Hot Ticket she claims the Bodyguard and The Crying Game illustrate
the notion that blacks, especially black females, are inferior to whites. In Toni

hooks feels that in our culture a white life has more value then a black one; and
therefore audiences are more willing to accept the worthlessness of black life.
hooks goes on to state, There is collective cultural agreement that black death is
inevitable, meaningless, not worth much. That there is nothing to mourn (100).
Americans as a whole do not take black life seriously (hooks, 100). Through her
review of Crooklyn, hooks is able to reinstate her idea: white America sees blacks
as worthless. hooks selects the movie Crooklyn to illustrate America s views on
how worthless black life is. In this film the mother dies, but the audience is not
aware of this until the children are found discussing the funeral, Carolyn s death is
treated in a matter of fact manner....We never see the family grieve (hooks, 105).
Instead of crying, the daughter throws up, again showing how even a family

addressing of a black death. This target audience has preconceived
Essay on Model for Perception
Model for Perception
Most people assume everyone sees the world the same way. This can be expected
because people are not able to compare what they see to what someone else sees
(using language to describe visuals is inherently biased). This widely accepted
assumption, however, is inaccurate. There is evidence that each person s perception
of the world is different if only in minor ways. For example, a perception
discrepancy can be found when comparing how people suffering from anorexia
nervosa see their bodies and how other people see the anorexics bodies. Even though
this distortion is an extreme perception difference that can actually be documented
(most perception differences can not even be verbalized), analyzing the distorted ...

The biological process of perception can help explain this definition; what exactly
does it mean that the brain interprets stimuli from the environment and makes it into
what we see and hear? According to biologists, the process begins with stimuli,
usually in the form of photons, vibrations or chemical reactions from the outside
world, being picked up by the sensory systems. The stimuli is detected by a sensory
neuron located on the surface of the body. This neuron converts the stimuli s light,
sound, heat, etc. into action potentials. The action potential changes the membrane
permeability of the neuron which allows it to transform into electric signs. The signs
are conducted to a primary processing area and elaborated on eventually being
converted into corresponding information regarding color, shape, shade, etc. Next,
this new information is brought to the thalamus (usually) where it is linked to older
data containing similar experiences to form a complete message. The message is
carried to its specific cortical center to become perception. Therefore, perception is
actually a message constructed using outside inputs, inner neuron processes and past,
relevant information stored in the brain.
Although it is not possible to know the conscience perception of victims of anorexia,
there is a wealth of data on these patients allowing experts to make conservative
assumptions on their perceptions. Based on this data, anorexics see a distorted image

Uncle Tom s Cabin one of the most popular book in nineteenth century, was written
by Harriet Beecher Stowe after the Fugitive Slave Act, which also had a significant
influence on abolishing movement of slavery in America. This book can be
mainly separated into 2 parts the slaves struggles for freedom, and Uncle Tom s
ups and downs in his whole life. In Uncle Tom s Cabin, Mrs. Stowe used great
number of contrasts between different characters in the book. For example,
characteristics of the most male characters (except uncle Tom) and female
characters in the book were dramatically different males in the book are generally

The CSI Effect Essay

any if the other forensic and criminal investigation related television show each week
(CJSG). Since then, the number of viewers has increased rapidly, as well as the
amount of television shows with the same type of theme. As a result of the increase
of these television programs, researchers are discovering a new phenomenon called

In the past, the jury learned from the forensic scientists testimony; but now, they re
learning from television and a lot of reality shows. Consequently, what they re

jurors who watch criminal investigation television shows do believe that what they
re seeing on TV is what does go on in real life and they expect to see it in court.
This is because, according to Shelton, the more frequently jurors watched a given
program, the more accurate they perceived it to be. Unfortunately, these shows also
create a false expectation that clear and definite evidence can be shown for any
case, which is not true. Jurors expect every case to have thorough scientific evidence

Analysis of Graphic Design
GRAPHIC DESIGN ISP INTRODUCTION Art is a form of expression that dates
back to the beginning of time. Since then it has evolved and changed to adapt to
modern times. Whether that be through a shift in style, in medium, or technology.
Graphic design, contrary to popular belief, actually began in 1922, to define graphic
art across time. Since the introduction of the modern computer and graphic design
software, it has evolved into an n art style that is present everywhere in the modern
world. Graphic design has many different styles just as normal art does, ranging from
the minimalism of Apple, to the typographic nature of many modern advertisements.

concepts work together to create the concept of visual identity . Visual identity is
a term coined by Abduzeedo (world renown Brazilian graphic designer), meaning
simply the definitive element within the design process used across all
applications and branding materials . As discussed above this could be as simple
as the apple logo, or even as complex as a stamp. Most large organizations have a

Government for example could be the American flag, or the bald eagle, as this is
present throughout their entire brand line. During 2008, President Obama used the
concept of the visual identity, but took it one step further and used the verbal
identity . He associated the word change with his campaign so that this would
become an integral part of it. By utilizing the word change he essentially created a
memorable center point for his campaign messages by which people could remember
and associate with him. (Abduzeedo The Makery Visual Identity ) A problem that

Compare And Contrast The Truman Show And Animal
Farm
The Truman Show , directed by Peter Weir and Animal Farm , written by George
Orwell both explore the ideas of the good life, how the main characters of both texts
have a lack of the good life. Control, the animals and Truman being controlled
without them knowing it. Freedom, and how the main characters do not have a great
deal of it. These views have been displayed in both The Truman Showand Animal
Farm. These ideas are presented through the characters and events throughout both
texts, they are used in different ways, yet mainly turn out to be not very good things.
The good life, the life one would like to live, does not always turn out the way one
would wish it to. Look at that sunset, Truman. It s perfect . In the opinion of
everyone, Truman s life is perfect. Seahaven was built for Truman to live the good
life, the life that everyone desired. In the eyes of Truman, his opinions are
different. Seahaven was built for him, in the eyes of someone else s idea of a good
life, not his own. Truman wants to go to Fiji and be with Sylvia, his idea of the good
life is different to what he currently lives. Likewise to Truman wanting the good life,
the animals desire the good life. They come together as animals, working together
and agreeing to the seven commandments to build the life they all would like to live,
all of them being equal. All animals are equal . Despite wanting to have equality, they
do not reach their goal of equality as along the way the commandment changes.

He preferred the distinction because of what it implies. It implies a structure, a kind
of analysis, as well as a kind of tradition behind it. In 1945 John Entenza, using his
magazine Art Architecture, started the Case Study HousesProgram as part of his
attempts to further modernism. The Case Study Houses aimed to produce
contemporary solutions to house design and to offer prototypes from which low and
medium cost housing could be developed. Charles was involved in designing two
Case Study Houses, both located in Pacific Palisades, his own house as well as John
Entenza s. The Eames house was designed with Ray, with initial contributions from
Eero, and the second Entenza house was fabricated through contributions of both
Charles and Eero Saarinen. They created two houses that shared a site, architect, and
basic steel frame, but differed completely in form. They have been called
technological twins but architectural opposites.
The Eames house focused on the American Dream of anyone having the ability to

housing was starting to develop, using prefabricated steel to develop one of the first
houses of its kind. It reflected so much of Charles and Ray Eames. In their brief of the

Essay about Baldrige Criterion
To many people, strategic planning is something meant only for big businesses, but it
is equally applicable to any type of business entity or organization. Strategic planning
is matching the strengths of an organization to available opportunities. To do this
effectively, an organization need to collect, screen, and analyze information about its
environment. The organization also needs to have a clear understanding of its
strengths and weaknesses and develop a clear mission, goals, and objectives
(Wikipedia, n.d.). Acquiring this understanding often involves more work than
expected. The organization must realistically assess its current state and device a

By clearly defining what their goals and needs are, both universities mirrored the
Baldrige criteria for strategic planning. Secondly, one of the ten questions asked in
Baldridge criteria for strategic planning is how do you ensure that financial, human,
and other resources are available to support the accomplishment of your action
plans? In other words, how do the universities convert their strategic objectives into
action plans through resource allocations? UC Boulder satisfied that question by
having approximately 300 employees in the Information Technology Services. In
addition, UC Boulder has also clearly defined how they will allocate their IT
resources to ensure they meet their strategic goals. According to the website UC
Boulder s IT allocation is as follows:
1. Campus programs and projects (28%)
2. Academic technologies and spaces (25%)
3. Support, operations, and services (including network and telephony) (42%)
4. Administration amp; support (5%)
With UC Berkeley, however, it paints a different picture. UC Berkeley did have an

and were not at all defined as compared to UC Boulder. Their means of resource
support simply stated: Researchers and research support staff across disciplines
require a minimum level of research support with technical compatibility to facilitate

Why I Want To Go Back To College
College can be scary and intimidating. I have said that many times. Therefore, a lot
of people rely on friends and people from their high school when they arrive to
college because this is comfortable to them. They are familiar with these people,
and it is easy to talk to them and be around them. A lot of people are scared to be on
their own or talk to new people. A lot of people are absolutely terrified of change.
Independency is intimidating and so is branching out to new people. However, if
you re looking for a chance to change and start something new, freshman year is the
time and the place. Everything is new, and going into it entirely single and on my

lead to showing me who I wanted to be around and what I look for in another person.

Prufrock in the poem The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock...
Question
Who is Prufrock?
The modern propensity for excessive introspection prevents people from living full,
active lives.
Is this true of Prufrock? Refer to examples from the poem to support your opinion.
Answer
It is obvious that the excessive and obsessive reflection of self that Prufrock
undergoes in the poem, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock written by T.S. Eliot,
prevents him from living to his true potential, and this is shown through the poet?s
language and his use of poetic devices.

I suppose Eliot realised the propensity of man is to analyse themselves up against
the things that we value and dream of to acquire. Therefore I deem Eliot to have
tried to rid this common perception and teach us that this view hinders us from
living full, active lives. I presume T.S. Eliot replaces his perception with
Prufrock?s, which is ultimately the theme of the poem. However this is unclear,
because T.S. Eliot might have replaced Prufrock with his view on the typical
individual that he despises. It is quite evident that Prufrock has qualities derived
from both these two examples. For example, Prufrock is obsessed with his
appearance, age and things which have no lifelong value, and this ultimately leads
Prufrock to individual isolation and a perpetual loathing of mankind, and this
negatively affects him. Although this is the case, Prufrock also has wisdom of the
superficiality of people in the modern world. So it is unclear who Prufrock is, in
terms of if he is Eliot?s perception of the typical man or if he is the typical man that
Eliot despises, or both.
Regardless of this, I believe that Eliot is trying to convey an examination of the
tortured psyche of the prototypical modern man, a prototypical man who is
overeducated, eloquent and neurotic, like Prufrock, who is often moody, indecisive,
isolated, but yet a sensitive thinker. Prufrock is lacking in direction and is searching
for order and a point to his life. I believe it was a design choice that
Essay about Lack of Vision in Carver s Cathedral
Lack of Vision in Cathedral
The narrator in Raymond Carver s Cathedral is not a particularly sensitive man. I
might describe him as self centered, superficial, and egotistical. And while his actions
certainly speak to these points, it is his misunderstanding of the people and the
relationships presented to him in this story which show most clearly his tragic flaw:
while Robert is physically blind, it is the narrator who cannot clearly see the world
around him.
In the eyes of the narrator, Robert s blindness is his defining characteristic. The
opening line of Cathedral reads, This blind man, an old friend of my wife s, he was

The narrator s naivete leaves him amazed by Robert, who does things which the
narrator would view as atypical of the blind. This reinforces the idea that the narrator
is blind to the reality of the world.
The narrator s blindness is certainly not limited to Robert he no better understands the
relationship between his wife and the blind man:
They d become good friends, my wife and the blind man. . . . On her last day in the
office, the blind man asked if he could touch her face . . . .She told me he touched
his fingers to every part of her face . . . .She never forgot it. She even tried to write
a poem about it . . . .She wrote a poem or two every year, usually after something
really important had happened to her. When we first started going out together, she
showed me the poem . . . I can remember I didn t think much of the poem . . .
Maybe I just don t understand poetry (Carver 1053).
While the narrator realizes that his wife s relationship with Robert is important to
her, he cannot understand why. Under other circumstances, the narrator s wife s
descriptions of experiences that summer and Robert s friendship and advice through
her marriages might have left him enlightened as to the depth of their relationship.
But here, despite all evidence to the contrary, the narrator (ultimately because of his
prejudice) has ruled out Robert as a thoughtful, consequential person. He cannot
comprehend that a blind man is capable of touching
Media Manipulation
Does Media Educate or Manipulate Racism?
Individuals can easily access so much information with a flip of a switch and by
turning to social media. The media exists to benefit our world; to study the facts, to
connect and/or to entertain its audience. Our culture in the United States is
encouraged to believe and view headlines as truth and fact; it is for this reason I
believe that news and social media has a manner of manipulating and influencing
their audience s attention. My own view is that media educates people with or
without credible knowledge, especially in the topic of racial inequality. Racism is
defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a
different race based on the belief that one s own race is superior (Oxford). In the
different ways that media chooses to portray knowledge to their audience is how
media manipulates what their viewers see. The media falls short of telling the
whole story; in addition, many times they display African Americans in a negative
way. Media manipulates and pushes the agenda of the black minority, such as in the
case of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. Although Zimmerman was of
Hispanic descent and not Caucasian, this story was widely publicized on social and
news media. The so called mainstream media rolled out ... Trayvon as the latest
iconic martyr in America s supposedly endless stream of systemic racial oppression
... [and portrayed] white Hispanic George Zimmerman ... described

Becoming A Professional Electrical Electronics Engineer
We ve made great advances in the last century, innovating at an astonishing speed.
But unfortunately, it seems as if in the last decade, the rate of innovation has
slowed down considerably. Every new product is just an iteration of the last
iteration, with no defining jumps in technology but only incremental changes.
With the snail paced recovery of the economy and a looming global warming crisis,
America needs more engineers if it wants to stay the dominant nation that it is
today and if it wants to make sure that the future of its children is safe, prosperous,
and pollutant free. None too often it is the small ideas from engineers that create
sparks in the economy and keep this great nation of ours going. As distinguished
professor Michael Schiffer would say, engineers have the ability to symbolize
technological prowess and modernity (4). I plan on joining this distinguished group
of innovators. I want to become a professional electrical electronics engineer, to
acquire the knowledge and the skills to be able to run my own consumer electronics
company one day; Becoming a professional electrical electronics engineer will allow
me to work on providing clean energy for my parents hometown of New Takoradi.
Becoming a professional electronics electrical engineer is not an easy task
whatsoever. Although this process is challenging and time consuming, I know I have
the patience, the discipline, and the determination to make it through. Based on the
strict and fairly difficult
The Dark Side Of Mexico

Professor Daniel Horan
English 1A
25 October, 2015 The dark side of Mexico El Narco, a nonfiction book, describes
the drug war in Mexico that has continued and intensified in the past couple of
decades. Criminal activities of drug traffickers have resulted in instability of
Mexican citizens. Some casualties in the past decade have been more than 34,000
due to the drug war. The drug war is still ongoing between numerous Mexican drug
cartels and the Mexican government. Because of Mexican drug war between the

Mainly, Medellin and Colombia Cali were known to be established drug cartels. Since
their demise in the early 1990s, Mexican drug cartels dominated the illegal drug
market and controlled more than 90% of cocaine supply in the United States. In
2006, government intervention against such cartels resulted in arresting key cartels
such as Gulf and Tijuana, which ultimately resulted in drug violence. These cartels
continued their fight for gaining control of trafficking routes into the United States
against their Mexican government. The ambushes triggered the nationwide violence
and at present, the government is nowhere close to invading country s cartels and
drug traffickers. The situation has gotten even worse at the moment (Grillo).
Throughout this timeline, the government had kept an approach of arresting the high
profile cartel leaders, but this kingpin strategy has not been sufficient. It brought
security at streets of Mexico. The strategy of taking down top level drug cartels
contributed to the cartels fragmentation with divided leaders and same business.
Which emerged to the rise of more violent, militaristic groups. These groups
straightway targeted the Mexican military. Hence, cartel members and the Mexican
military have continuously battled each other numerous times and resulted in mass
homicides. From the perspective of government intervention techniques, the Mexican

The Colonization Of Uganda And Kenya
1.Introduction
The colonization of Uganda and Kenya is the reason why they are bilateral countries
meaning they share many of the same interest such as political interest, economic
interests etc... Being colonized by the United Kingdom has affected their history
forever, and has made it extremely difficult to be in the same state as the rest of the
world but also allowed both countries to be close with each other as they shared the
same experiences. As they gained their independence, they later formed an East
African Community along with Tanzania who was also colonized by the UK which
created many benefits in the long run. In this paper, I will investigate the benefits of
the East African Community over time specifically with Kenya s and Uganda s trade
with coffee.
1.1.Coffee History
Coffee trees were first introduced by the French which were located near the
capital of Kenya, Nairobi. Nairobi was used as the nucleus around which Kenyan
coffee growing developed. The British and European farmers became rich by
farming coffee on the backs of the Kenyan workers. With more experience, Kenyan
farmers became more and more powerful. With over 1 million Kikuyu tribe members
calling it home they had real land claims according to the Europeans.
While Arabica was introduced at the beginning of the 1900 s, Robusta coffee is
indigenous to the country, and has been a part of Ugandan life for centuries. Over
time growing coffee was not seen as a job but more of a fun activity to do
Divorce Essay
Divorce can destroy family
Not too long ago, divorce was forbidden, unaccepted, unheard of, difficult to get,
and considered as an act of sin among married couples. Many changes in the last
fifty years have affected marriage and divorce rates. The rise of the women s
liberation movement, the advent of the sexual revolution, and an increase in women
s labor force participation altered perceptions of gender roles. As of today, in modern
society divorce has become more acceptable. The guilt and shame of the old
divorce laws are gone. More couples are separated and divorcing is becoming part
of the norm. (MLR) Divorce can be one of the most painful topics and the most
talked about in the modern world. When a marriage is not working, ... Show more

The effects of a divorce can take an emotional toll on a person as much as a financial
burden. There can be temporary effects to long lasting effects on the family. Divorce
is emotionally devastating for most people. It forces us to kill our dreams when
we are married to our mate. Often at times, we envision the white picket fence and
growing old with that person and we never see divorce as an option. So, when the
end result is divorce it can be the ultimate rejection, because we feel like we are
being rejected by the one person that would never hurt us . Divorce is a type of
death, and we need to grieve the loss such as we do a death. In a divorce, we can
also lose our confidence. At times, we often feel like we have failed as a wife or
husband, and that sometimes leads to rebound relationships where we can fall
into a relationship right away, not choosing someone that is healthy. (Swaity)
When getting a divorce, it can also lead to loss of friends and family. When you
get a divorce, you are also divorcing your partner s family. Divorce often makes
your family and friends feel like they need to choose and take sides. Married
couples often have couple friends that you usually do stuff with, so when a divorce
happens they don t know what to say so they stay away. Divorce is expensive in
many ways. There are legal costs of obtaining a divorce. While married, couples
usually accumulate assets so that has to be divided. And when there are children
Unreliable Narrator In The Collector
When someone tells a story, if it ever sounds prolonged or even slightly
exaggerated the person telling the story might be stretching the truth. This is
because everyone who ever tells you a story is a unreliable narrator. Most people
do this without realizing it either to make to story more interesting, or just improve
the overall story. An unreliable narrator is someone who has limited knowledge,
acts or creates a suspectius tone, is uncredible and gives information that is
incomplete or inaccurate. Fredrik Clegg and Miranda Grey are two examples of
unreliable narrators. Clegg is an undiagnosed Sociopath and Miranda is a selfish
upper class citizen. In the book, The Collector by John Fowles each of these
characters are considered unreliable for the suspicious and uncrediable behavior....

In Miranda s part of the book she is trapped in a basement sub room with no doors
or windows. In the beginning miranda seems okay but as the reader continues her
mental state can be seen slowly decreasing. Miranda tells the readers that she is
writing just to keep her sane but it does not seem to be working, Miranda writes, I
m on edge. I m nowhere near as clam as i seem (when I read what I ve written). It s
just that there s so much time to get through. Endless endless endless time. What I
write isn t natural (Fowles 136). From this quote the reader can see that Miranda is
not okay, she is becoming restless. When someone becomes restless with nothing to
do it can cause the mind to start creating things that are not actually there. By
Miranda telling us she is on edge, proves that her mental state is depleting and she is
becoming an uncredible source information. Therefore, because of her mental state
Miranda is an unreliable
How Weather Conditions Affect Health and Well-Being in...
How Weather Conditions Affects Health and Well Being Singapore is an island lying
north of the Equator. Because it lies in the tropics, it receives sufficient sunlight, has
mostly uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity and abundant rainfall.
Singapore s climate can be categorized into two main monsoonseasons.
During the Northeast Monsoon season, from December to early March, northeast
winds prevail. It is cloudy with frequent afternoon rain in the early part of this
season. From late March to May, winds and showers are present mostly during
afternoon and early evening. The Southwest Monsoon season, from June to
September, has more isolated showers in the late morning and early afternoon. From

Cold weather contracts blood vessels. Hence, heart attacks, migraines, and high
blood pressure, caused by constriction of blood vessels and insufficient blood flow,
can be triggered by cold weather. According to research conducted by the New
England Center for Headache, as many as half of all migraines are triggered by
weather conditions. This applies for Raynaud s phenomenon where the blood vessels
dilate and blood flow is disrupted.
Cold weather increases joint stiffness and affects people with arthritis. Arthritis
patients believe that the lower the barometric pressure, the greater the pain in the
joints. An example is that the residents at the North Shore Hotel note when the
barometric pressure goes down, their pain goes up. Their arthritis goes into overdrive
before a storm.
Nerve fiber coverings break down more easily, causing Multiple sclerosis to happen
more frequently in cold weather. For Fibromyalgia Syndrome, a 1981 survey reported
that more than 90% of the patients felt worse in cold and humid weather. Changes in
barometric pressure affected those with the syndrome.
Sinus headaches are caused by barometric pressure as the nasal cavities are not able
to adapt quickly to the change in air pressure. Asthma is often caused by high winds
as these bring pollen and particles which some have allergies to.
In our research, we have also found out that sunlight can be both beneficial and
harmful to the human body. The
Giovanni s Room By James Baldwin
The two novels Giovanni s Room by James Baldwin published in 1956 and Price of
Salt by Patricia Highsmith published in 1956 share the interest of both the main
characters having trouble publicizing their sexual orientation due to the way
society would view them. There location of living have a big impact on their
actions of expressing their sexuality towards other people or themselves. During
the 1950 s, homosexual activity was prohibited. People who were found having an
affair with the same sex was often given a consequence for their actions. Even
though, gay men were given more of an punishment, lesbianism was not supported
or approved of by the public eye. Regardless of the danger, gay men and women were

He met Giovanni in a gay bar that was owned by one of his friends named
Guillaume. David kindly offered to buy Giovanni a drink and they hit it off with
each other since then. Paris was known for having a high population in the LGBT
community. There was a lot of bars, clubs, restaurants, and shops (Wikipedia 2015,
para. 2). When David bought Giovanni drinks at Guillaume s bar, other men took
notice of their interaction with each other. It wasn t hard to tell that they had an
instant attraction towards each other. Once he noticed that people were looking at
them, he stopped instantly. Though David was already publicizing his sexual
orientation from being in the bar, he couldn t come to realization for himself nor to
others. As he stated to Giovanni, It is a crime in my country, and, after all, I didn t
grow up here, I grew up there (Baldwin 45). Though David was in Paris where it
wasn t looked upon as much, he still believed that it was morally wrong for two
same sex genders to be together; especially since he knew his family wouldn t accept
him for it. David showed his lack of acceptance through the rejection of Giovanni s
affection.
Since Paris was known for city life and being accompanied by a lot of people, there
was various amounts of transportations. David and Giovanni mainly took cabs/taxis
as there way around to places. One of the few places
How Did The British Invasion Influence People
The British are coming! The British are coming! The Rolling Stones rolled right into
into America during the British invasion with The Beatles and The Who. The Rolling
Stones made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and are still touring after about
fifty years from coming to America during the British invasion.
People wonder how the Rolling Stones came to be. The Rolling Stones former
members included Bill Wyman playing the bass, Brian Jones playing guitar as well
as Mick Taylor. The current members of the Rolling Stones are Kieth Richard
playing the guitar, and singing. Mick Jagger, and Ron wood singing also, Charlie
Watts plays the drums. In 1993, after the Steel Wheels/ Urban Jungle tour, Bill
decided it was time for him to retire from the group, he was tired of touring (Loss,
2004). Brian Jones stepped down from his position of the Rolling Stones leader as
Mick Jagger had taken over. Since then, the band got their first U.S. hit in 1964
with a cover for Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly (Norman, 1998). Select critics
followed the British invasion to change the favorite genre of music for American
teens. The British Invasion was a slang term to express the generation of British
bands that were popular in America following The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones in
success. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones were different from other rock ... Show

Tragedy Essay.pdf

  • 1. Tragedy Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of tragedy can prove to be a daunting task, as it demands a delicate balance between analytical depth and emotional sensitivity. Delving into the complexities of tragedy requires a nuanced understanding of literary, historical, or philosophical contexts, depending on the scope of the essay. The challenge lies not only in presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in capturing the essence of tragic narratives, which often grapple with profound human experiences. One must navigate through the intricate web of tragic elements, exploring the depth of characters, the evolution of plotlines, and the underlying philosophical themes. Moreover, the emotional resonance associated with tragic narratives necessitates a careful exploration of human suffering, loss, and the inevitable confrontation with mortality. It is a task that demands the ability to empathize with the characters and the capacity to convey their struggles with authenticity. The research involved in constructing a tragedy essay adds another layer of complexity. Engaging with scholarly works, critical analyses, and historical perspectives is essential to provide a well-informed and comprehensive discussion. This research process can be time- consuming and requires a discerning eye to select relevant sources that contribute to the overall narrative. Furthermore, the task is not confined to the academic realm; a successful tragedy essay must also resonate with readers on a personal and emotional level. Balancing intellectual rigor with a human connection is a delicate art, requiring the writer to convey the profound impact of tragic narratives without losing the analytical thread. In conclusion, the challenge of writing a tragedy essay lies in the intricate interplay between intellectual depth, emotional resonance, and effective communication. It demands a writer's ability to navigate through complex narratives, engage with scholarly perspectives, and convey the universal aspects of human suffering. Despite the difficulty, a well-crafted tragedy essay can offer valuable insights into the human condition, leaving a lasting impact on both the writer and the reader. Such areas as gangs, pharmacies, and governmental agencies will be viewed for the money made from the drugs they deal with. Questions such as: who do private companies make their money off of and how much is being made? Should the government support the taxation of legal as well as controversial illegal drugs? Drug Cartels gauge their actions based on this criteria. This paper explores the history of drugs, both legal and illegal, the profitability of both the legal industry and illegal enterprise. It will also look at what is being done to combat the illegal aspect of the issue as well what is being done to keep the margins up and the coffers filled. Drugs, illegal and legal, have been a part of the history of the United States for almost three centuries. From the time when the 19th century began, Americans went from alcohol as the preferred mood altering substance to a new realm of addiction. During this time Americans were acquaint with wonder drugs such as morphine, heroin, and cocaine. Since that discovery, our society has confronted the problems of drug abuse and addiction (DEA, 2015). Once the 20th century began, the United States, contending with its first drug epidemic in the country s short history, progressively started effective limitations to combat the epidemic. In the United States through internal law enforcement they began to fight the issue domestically. Through cooperation and sometimes without the United States began spearheading a world crusade to limit opium and coca crops (DEA, 2015). By World War II, the use of drugs in America had declined significantly enough for it to no longer be considered a significant issue. It was then seen as a borderline social problem and pushed

Elizabeth Jackson Examining the Response to Intervention (RTI) ProcessResponse to Intervention (RTI) is an in school service program designed to guarantee that all students are getting a high quality education. Before students are referred for special education services, it is essential that they receive effective teaching designed to meet their own learning requirements. All students in public schools are required to be included in the RTI program. While the different program may vary from state to state, the basis of the models are the same. The RTI process has three tiers. In tier one is labeled curriculum based classroom... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teachers, during tier one, should closely follow the GREAT guidelines. Teachers are also expected to differentiate instruction for those who are struggling. Tier two teachers expected to collect extensive data on the at risk student. Teachers are to collect data not only on information the student got wrong, but also when they were correct. This aids in a more correct placement, if needed. The final tier of the RTI process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into play. In order for a student to be admitted into tier three, there has to be adequate evidence to support this claim. The teacher needs to continue to collect data to provide information on whether or not the student has made progress with the interventions in place. The teacher may asked to organize the data collected during the previous interventions. The text suggest that the teacher may be asked to collect this data in the form of a visual aid, such as a bar graph. Process of Determining if a Student has a Disability and the Responsibilities of the Teacher When all the tiers of RTI have been utilized, the Students Support Team (SST) decides if the next appropriate step for the student is a referral to special education. Biased on the information gathered during the RTI process, the SST will appraise and see if the student meets the criteria for one of the IDEA categories of disability. The disability or impairment must have an unwanted

Hand Hygiene Research Paper Infection Control: Hand Hygiene Sidney Sheerin Mercy College of Health Sciences Infection Control: Hand Hygiene Introduction Hand washing is an easy and effective way to help prevent infection. Hand hygiene is done frequently throughout the day at ChildServe. This paper will explore the non compliance of performing hand hygiene to maximize its effectiveness of infection prevention, and the proper ways to do so. It will also discuss how this practice is implemented at ChildServe. Article Summary One The article written by Atici et al. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This article explores the non compliance among practitioners and the negative effects from it. Hand hygiene non compliance may increase patient mortality and morbidity rates, and raise healthcare costs (Mortell, 2012, p. 1011). Multiple infection prevention and control programs to improve hand hygiene among staff have been utilized and yet these all appear to have failed to achieve the required and desired compliance in hand hygiene (Mortell, 2012, p. 1011). Throughout the whole article Mortell emphasizes that hand hygiene evidence and advice has been continuously disregarded by clinicians. We have all seen educated and knowledgeable clinicians fail to practice their organization s hand hygiene recommendations. One possible explanation for this is that there is an ethical gap (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). This article discusses a study on hand hygiene compliance for 2010 and 2011 in a cardiac surgical intensive care unit; which was measured by observational surveillance and audited daily. During the first year of the study, the nurses in that unit provided the doctors and other paramedical staff with continual education of the WHO (2009) recommendations, training and observational surveillance feedback. By doing so, hand hygiene compliance was maintained at greater than 70% (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). During the following year, doctors were not receptive to nursing requests to comply with WHO requirements, which made the nurses stop providing ongoing support to doctors as they had in 2010. The outcome observed was that physician compliance fell to 60% or less (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). Only the nurses and paramedics kept up with compliance of greater than 80% because of ongoing education, observation, feedback and a genuine belief in the benefits of hand hygiene to patient safety (Mortell, 2012, p. 1012). Mortell (2012) states that given that most clinicians

The theme of Prince Hamlet s madness occupies the whole picture of the play although there is no certainty about if Prince Hamlet is real mad or he pretends to be mad, as the playitself is sophisticated and incomprehensible. Any reader of Hamletwill notice that this play evokes a lot of endless questions, and the issue of the certainty of Prince Hamlet s madness is one of these questions. In the essay, I will analyze their problems, examine their susceptibility to poverty and discuss on how to eradicate or reduce to the barest women these issues. Women and children are the most susceptible class amidst the povertystricken because of the following reasons they do not have opportunities to access essential social services such as education and health, lower or no recruitment chances, no access to loan facilities and they are usually excluded from society, war and natural calamities such as the Rwandan genocide, floods, and earthqu akes amongst other examples . UNIFEM: 2000 recognized that the disparity amongst men and women entangled in the wheel of impoverishment has continuously increased in the past decade, a prodigy generally referred to as the feminization of poverty . The specific problems faced by poor women are lack of resources as a consequence of their earning less salary than men even if they possess the same eligibity and work for the same total number of hours, they are restricted to jobs that pays meager salaries such as cooks, cleaners, nannies, secretaries etc, they spend extra hours providing voluntary care giving than men especially in the African culture where it is imposed on the woman that if any family member is indisposed, it is her responsibility to cater for that person, they carry the major responsibility of bringing up children child

Some of the most evident changes the Great War causes are the changes in the traditional roles of men and women and in the promotion in the use of alcohol. Hemingway expresses these changes through the actions of some of the books main characters, most notably Jake and Brett. The novel s characters perform these taboo and abnormal actions in response to the Great War and the war s impact on the characters. Not only does the alcohol allow the characters of the novel to forget their problems, the alcohol is a source of destruction for the characters of the novel. Majority of the time when Jake or his friends are under the influence, they end up getting into a fight. These fights can either be physical altercations or verbal altercations. These altercations bring out the worst in the characters. One altercation in particular Jake and his friends project their anger and frustration onto Cohn. Cohn is basically told he is a complete waste and is told he is just like a steer because he follows Brett and Jake. Alcohols uses are for coping and for destruction. This abuse of alcohol is seen as foreign in society. The consumption of alcohol is an occasional thing in society, not a form of therapy for

The presence or absence of certain types of antibodies and antigens determines the different blood types. People have different types and combinations of antibodies and antigens. The goal of this investigation was to test different blood samples to figure out which father each of the three children belonged to. Therefore, the no driving principle is implied. These are two of the most significant principles presented by NORML. The next principle is described as set and setting. The NORML organization states, The responsible cannabis user will carefully consider his/her set and setting, regulating use accordingly (NORML, 1996, para. 7). Meaning, adults should be responsible enough, when using marijuana, to take into consideration several different aspects of one s life. For instance, it is important for marijuana users to consider his or her set, meaning the individual s attitude, personality, and experience. The term setting refers to an individual s physical and social condition or circumstances (NORML, 1996, para. 8). Therefore, individuals should consider and analyze a number of factors before choosing to smoke or just choosing to just say no. Two other principles presented by NORML include resisting abuse and respecting the rights of others. Therefore, individuals should steer clear of any sign of abuse and should not violate the rights of others when

This is the future of technology, and more specifically, unmanned aerial vehicles. UAVs, more commonly referred to as drones, have been advancing for decades now. Their advancement has not come without opposition though, and while this argument is concentrated behind drones role in technologies machination over society, the true reality is a shift to mechanization, a progression the United Stateshas seen before. Historically, many economic shifts have affected the US, including the shift from agrarian society to industrialization in the Gilded Age, periods which allowed the US to dominate the world economy,... The benefit transfers down the line of agriculture when the product the farmer was able to grow has ended up at the grocery store, and by the same means, the support for the drones integration is bound to follow. More acute compared to the agricultural and rural sectors, is the commercial interest of drones through manufacturers and retailers like Amazon. These have come in headlines labeled as an innovation and as an intrusion, bringing more opposition than other areas of use. In an article by Trevir Nath, it is estimated that every year integration is delayed; the US loses $10 billion in financial growth (Nath 2). This is undermined by the citizens of Syracuse who believe that as the nation becomes more accustomed to drones...fewer people will oppose their use in war and in commercial application that intrude upon American s privacy (Semuels 2). Antonio Vivaldi Accomplishments Antonio Vivaldi, a major composer during the Baroque period, made significant changes during his time, from numerous works to a teacher at the Pieta to a priest. Vivaldi excelled writing in many genres; however, he is known mainly for his concertos (Hanning Burkholder 264). In the case of the Baroqueera, Antonio Vivaldi s contributions profoundly impacted music for the violin, ushering in a period of popularity for the instrument. I will talk about four issues that need to be addressed in order to perform early music today: tempo, material, articulation, and ornamentation. I will discuss what tempo meant during the Baroque period, the material required for the Baroque tone, how articulation was handled, as well as the purpose of ornamentation. Vivaldi composed a multitude of works, comprising over 350 solo concertos with over 230 of those concertos for violin alone (Talbot). He worked at the Pieta, an orphanage and school for girls (Hanning Burkholder 265). Vivaldi s concertos imbued qualities of fresh melodies, clarity of form, and color between the solo and orchestra (Hanning Burkholder 264). His Concertoin A Minor, Op. 3, No. 6. demonstrates the virtuosity of the violin. The idea of the concerto is still upheld today, showcasing the soloist s ability. The first point I like to examine is tempo. Tempo, in the Baroque period, did not necessarily indicate the speed of rate at which notes move. Rather, instead of actual beats per minute, tempo referred to the

This can be expected because people are not able to compare what they see to what someone else sees (using language to describe visuals is inherently biased). This widely accepted assumption, however, is inaccurate. There is evidence that each person s perception of the world is different if only in minor ways. For example, a perception discrepancy can be found when comparing how people suffering from anorexia nervosa see their bodies and how other people see the anorexics bodies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biological process of perception can help explain this definition; what exactly does it mean that the brain interprets stimuli from the environment and makes it into what we see and hear? According to biologists, the process begins with stimuli, usually in the form of photons, vibrations or chemical reactions from the outside world, being picked up by the sensory systems. The stimuli is detected by a sensory neuron located on the surface of the body. This neuron converts the stimuli s light, sound, heat, etc. into action potentials. The action potential changes the membrane permeability of the neuron which allows it to transform into electric signs. The signs are conducted to a primary processing area and elaborated on eventually being converted into corresponding information regarding color, shape, shade, etc. Next, this new information is brought to the thalamus (usually) where it is linked to older data containing similar experiences to form a complete message. The message is carried to its specific cortical center to become perception. Therefore, perception is actually a message constructed using outside inputs, inner neuron processes and past, relevant information stored in the brain. Although it is not possible to know the conscience perception of victims of anorexia, there is a wealth of data on these patients allowing experts to make conservative assumptions on their perceptions. Based on this data, anorexics see a distorted image of

She comes to realize love is all that matters; that love is something you hold onto, fight for, and never let go of. Delirium is a story that teaches a valuable life lesson that holds true even for today s teenager: following your heart can set you free. In the novel Delirium, the author uses conflict to teach us that following your heart can set you free. For example, Lena is trying to acquiesce that she is in loveand that the government has deceived everyone. The government coerced her to believe that love was

In most cases labor unions are born out of unfair working conditions and wages were salaries that may be minimal. One might not think of poor working conditions minimal salary when it comes to the three major sports of professional baseball professional basketball in the National Football League. You look at athletes like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning, and Alex Rodriguez and see the amount of money that these individual have earned through the years of playing professional sports you would have a hard time finding anyone feeling sorry for them. When it comes to these perks that today s professional athletes enjoy is do to those who came before them that had the audacity to challenge the owners. What is diplomacy, knowing how to deal with people in a particular way to ultimately get what you want. That s my interpretation of the diplomacy as it pertains to negotiations. In sports one may ask how negotiations spiral out of control to the point where you get some type of work stoppage by strike or by lockout. Fans are getting upset and disgruntled and question, it s all about greed millionaires battling billionaires. What could be leading to the lockouts what factors would get in the way of some tough but rational negotiations. Fundamentally when it comes to the sports leagues work stoppages usually come from economical or aggregate

He is a well off man of a disgusting corporation, but a man of independent and modern thoughts who channels one s inner beliefs and ultimately follows his heart. His most controversial parts revolve around his religious beliefs and morality, as well as his profession. My morality my religion must have a place for cannons and torpedoes in it (page 71; Act 1). It is fairly obvious that Undershaft adores his work and is very proud of what he has accomplished. It is Undershaft s religious beliefs that first strike a negative chord with his son, Stephen. As a very traditional man in the early twentieth century, Stephen scolds Undershaft for his religious beliefs, specifically when Andrew exclaims that one s religious beliefs can differ from someone else s. However, Andrew Undershaft retorts that [for me] there is only one true morality; but it might not fit you, as you do not manufacture aerial battleships. There is only one true morality for every man; but every man has not the same true morality (page 71; Act 1). Andrew Undershaft is a man who is consistently trying to push his beliefs on others, but not in a pressured fashion. He pushes the idea of independent thoughts, creation, and considering what one sees as the best thing to do, instead of what others before have taught him to believe. He wants others to put meaning to their feelings. For a man who is constantly being degraded for his religious beliefs, Andrew Undershaft preaches gospels that can be used in every day
  • 39. Prufrock in the poem The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock... Question Who is Prufrock? The modern propensity for excessive introspection prevents people from living full, active lives. Is this true of Prufrock? Refer to examples from the poem to support your opinion. Answer It is obvious that the excessive and obsessive reflection of self that Prufrock undergoes in the poem, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock written by T.S. Eliot, prevents him from living to his true potential, and this is shown through the poet?s language and his use of poetic devices. ?The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock? has some immaculate imagery. T.S. Eliot uses figurative diction to create almost cinematic images in the readers mind, almost like a memory of their own. The imagery creates an incredible mood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I suppose Eliot realised the propensity of man is to analyse themselves up against the things that we value and dream of to acquire. Therefore I deem Eliot to have tried to rid this common perception and teach us that this view hinders us from living full, active lives. I presume T.S. Eliot replaces his perception with Prufrock?s, which is ultimately the theme of the poem. However this is unclear, because T.S. Eliot might have replaced Prufrock with his view on the typical individual that he despises. It is quite evident that Prufrock has qualities derived from both these two examples. For example, Prufrock is obsessed with his appearance, age and things which have no lifelong value, and this ultimately leads Prufrock to individual isolation and a perpetual loathing of mankind, and this negatively affects him. Although this is the case, Prufrock also has wisdom of the superficiality of people in the modern world. So it is unclear who Prufrock is, in terms of if he is Eliot?s perception of the typical man or if he is the typical man that Eliot despises, or both. Regardless of this, I believe that Eliot is trying to convey an examination of the tortured psyche of the prototypical modern man, a prototypical man who is overeducated, eloquent and neurotic, like Prufrock, who is often moody, indecisive, isolated, but yet a sensitive thinker. Prufrock is lacking in direction and is searching for order and a point to his life. I believe it was a design choice that
  • 40. Essay about Lack of Vision in Carver s Cathedral Lack of Vision in Cathedral The narrator in Raymond Carver s Cathedral is not a particularly sensitive man. I might describe him as self centered, superficial, and egotistical. And while his actions certainly speak to these points, it is his misunderstanding of the people and the relationships presented to him in this story which show most clearly his tragic flaw: while Robert is physically blind, it is the narrator who cannot clearly see the world around him. In the eyes of the narrator, Robert s blindness is his defining characteristic. The opening line of Cathedral reads, This blind man, an old friend of my wife s, he was on his way to spend the night (1052). Clearly, the narrator cannot see past Robert s disability; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The narrator s naivete leaves him amazed by Robert, who does things which the narrator would view as atypical of the blind. This reinforces the idea that the narrator is blind to the reality of the world. The narrator s blindness is certainly not limited to Robert he no better understands the relationship between his wife and the blind man: They d become good friends, my wife and the blind man. . . . On her last day in the office, the blind man asked if he could touch her face . . . .She told me he touched his fingers to every part of her face . . . .She never forgot it. She even tried to write a poem about it . . . .She wrote a poem or two every year, usually after something really important had happened to her. When we first started going out together, she showed me the poem . . . I can remember I didn t think much of the poem . . . Maybe I just don t understand poetry (Carver 1053). While the narrator realizes that his wife s relationship with Robert is important to her, he cannot understand why. Under other circumstances, the narrator s wife s descriptions of experiences that summer and Robert s friendship and advice through her marriages might have left him enlightened as to the depth of their relationship. But here, despite all evidence to the contrary, the narrator (ultimately because of his prejudice) has ruled out Robert as a thoughtful, consequential person. He cannot comprehend that a blind man is capable of touching
  • 41. Media Manipulation Does Media Educate or Manipulate Racism? Individuals can easily access so much information with a flip of a switch and by turning to social media. The media exists to benefit our world; to study the facts, to connect and/or to entertain its audience. Our culture in the United States is encouraged to believe and view headlines as truth and fact; it is for this reason I believe that news and social media has a manner of manipulating and influencing their audience s attention. My own view is that media educates people with or without credible knowledge, especially in the topic of racial inequality. Racism is defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one s own race is superior (Oxford). In the different ways that media chooses to portray knowledge to their audience is how media manipulates what their viewers see. The media falls short of telling the whole story; in addition, many times they display African Americans in a negative way. Media manipulates and pushes the agenda of the black minority, such as in the case of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. Although Zimmerman was of Hispanic descent and not Caucasian, this story was widely publicized on social and news media. The so called mainstream media rolled out ... But unfortunately, it seems as if in the last decade, the rate of innovation has slowed down considerably. Every new product is just an iteration of the last iteration, with no defining jumps in technology but only incremental changes. With the snail paced recovery of the economy and a looming global warming crisis, America needs more engineers if it wants to stay the dominant nation that it is today and if it wants to make sure that the future of its children is safe, prosperous, and pollutant free. None too often it is the small ideas from engineers that create sparks in the economy and keep this great nation of ours going. In 2006, government intervention against such cartels resulted in arresting key cartels such as Gulf and Tijuana, which ultimately resulted in drug violence. These cartels continued their fight for gaining control of trafficking routes into the United States against their Mexican government. The ambushes triggered the nationwide violence and at present, the government is nowhere close to invading country s cartels and drug traffickers. The situation has gotten even worse at the moment (Grillo). Throughout this timeline, the government had kept an approach of arresting the high profile cartel leaders, but this kingpin strategy has not been sufficient. It brought security at streets of Mexico. The strategy of taking down top level drug cartels contributed to the cartels fragmentation with divided leaders and same business. The Colonization Of Uganda And Kenya 1.Introduction The colonization of Uganda and Kenya is the reason why they are bilateral countries meaning they share many of the same interest such as political interest, economic interests etc... Being colonized by the United Kingdom has affected their history forever, and has made it extremely difficult to be in the same state as the rest of the world but also allowed both countries to be close with each other as they shared the same experiences. As they gained their independence, they later formed an East African Community along with Tanzania who was also colonized by the UK which created many benefits in the long run. In this paper, I will investigate the benefits of the East African Community over time specifically with Kenya s and Uganda s trade with coffee. 1.1.Coffee History Coffee trees were first introduced by the French which were located near the capital of Kenya, Nairobi. Nairobi was used as the nucleus around which Kenyan coffee growing developed. The British and European farmers became rich by farming coffee on the backs of the Kenyan workers. With more experience, Kenyan farmers became more and more powerful. With over 1 million Kikuyu tribe members calling it home they had real land claims according to the Europeans. While Arabica was introduced at the beginning of the 1900 s, Robusta coffee is indigenous to the country, and has been a part of Ugandan life for centuries. Over time growing coffee was not seen as a job but more of a fun activity to do

The effects of a divorce can take an emotional toll on a person as much as a financial burden. There can be temporary effects to long lasting effects on the family. Divorce is emotionally devastating for most people. It forces us to kill our dreams when we are married to our mate. Often at times, we envision the white picket fence and growing old with that person and we never see divorce as an option. So, when the end result is divorce it can be the ultimate rejection, because we feel like we are being rejected by the one person that would never hurt us . Divorce is a type of death, and we need to grieve the loss such as we do a death. In a divorce, we can also lose our confidence. At times, we often feel like we have failed as a wife or husband, and that sometimes leads to rebound relationships where we can fall into a relationship right away, not choosing someone that is healthy. (Swaity) When getting a divorce, it can also lead to loss of friends and family. When you get a divorce, you are also divorcing your partner s family. Divorce often makes your family and friends feel like they need to choose and take sides. There are legal costs of obtaining a divorce. While married, couples usually accumulate assets so that has to be divided. And when there are children

This is because everyone who ever tells you a story is a unreliable narrator. Most people do this without realizing it either to make to story more interesting, or just improve the overall story. According to research conducted by the New England Center for Headache, as many as half of all migraines are triggered by weather conditions. This applies for Raynaud s phenomenon where the blood vessels dilate and blood flow is disrupted. Cold weather increases joint stiffness and affects people with arthritis. Arthritis patients believe that the lower the barometric pressure, the greater the pain in the joints. An example is that the residents at the North Shore Hotel note when the barometric pressure goes down, their pain goes up. Their arthritis goes into overdrive before a storm. Nerve fiber coverings break down more easily, causing Multiple sclerosis to happen more frequently in cold weather. For Fibromyalgia Syndrome, a 1981 survey reported that more than 90% of the patients felt worse in cold and humid weather. Changes in barometric pressure affected those with the syndrome. Sinus headaches are caused by barometric pressure as the nasal cavities are not able to adapt quickly to the change in air pressure. Asthma is often caused by high winds as these bring pollen and particles which some have allergies to.
