Blue s Clues Research Paper
As a kid, one of the most exciting things to see on the television was the start of a Blue s Clues
episode. The yellow story book with a big, blue paw print on the cover opening and leading you
to the home of Blue, the famous show s spotted dog, and her owner, Steve, played by Steve
Burns. On September 8, 1996, Blue s Clues debuted on the Nickelodeon channel. Kids would
watch Blue leave her paw prints as clues all over the house, leaving Steve and the viewers to solve
a puzzle or mystery. The show became a hit and over time became of the most recognized children
s televisionshows. After seven years and over 100 episodes, Burns announced in 2002 he would be
leaving the show. In an article from Spin, show producer and co creator Traci

1. The Commonwealth They Served
The weather was seasonally cold in Pennsylvania s Capitol late in 1914. On Sunday morning,
December 27, the temperature was 1 degree Fahrenheit. This reading was the lowest ever registered
in the last month of the year during the almost three decade history of the Harrisburg weather
station. Nevertheless, the cold did not dim the spirit of the holiday season as the Harrisburg
Evening Telegraph newspaper cheerfully proclaimed, Perfect Christmas Makes City Happy.
During that week, Governor John K. Tener, in the last month of his term, released a legislatively
mandated report that made history. The Report of the Economy and Efficiency Commission, for
one of the very few times in Pennsylvania s Chronicle, provided the public with a roster of all 5,152
state employees. The release of this document was a key milestone in the Commonwealth s early
20th century effort to improve its personnel management practices.
By listing names, this document provides an opportunity to recognize the often unheralded
contributions of selected state employees assigned to organizations under the general supervision of
the Governor. The register also affords an invaluable chance to appreciate how the offices, bureaus,
and divisions make Pennsylvania work. Researching their efforts brought to light a collective
commitment to assist the public. This attribute is a common virtue among Pennsylvania state
employees, both past and present. It is the one thing

If earnings are expected to grow in the future, the estimated P/E will be lower than the current P
/E. This measure is also used to compare one company to another with a forward looking focus.
Earnings per share reflects the profitability of the business. This rate indicates the profit per
share created. The higher EPS, the more profit created. However, the low EPS doesn t
necessarily mean the business has performed badly. Although Tesla s EPS growth rate ( 193.6%
EPS for the current year) is low, Tesla is seen as a prospective business. The reason is the
business earns and reinvest its earning back to other field for business development. And the
next year expected high EPS growth (135.47%) can also be the fully illustration on this. Return
on assets (ROA) measures how profitability a business relates to its total assets. Generally, ROA
needs to be positive if the business is growing. However, not all companies with negative ROAs
are always bad investments. Tesla s negative ROA are interpreted that high risk project (trade to
fuel) have been reinvested. Although this investment is expected to have a negative ROA after one
year or an initial period, but improve over time. When investing in a new area, it takes several years
to turn a profit on its initial investment. Current ratio and quick

Punk Rock And Punk Music
In the 70s and 80s punk music emerged. It was a style that was derived from rock music, and
similarly to rock, it defied hierarchies. However, punk rock defied hierarchies in a more extremist
level than how rock did it, it promoted anarchy, which means that it was against any type of
government (Davies 1 2), Most people can probably recognize the Sex Pistols, the Clash, and
the Ramones, as the most popular bands. The Sex Pistols only lasted three years as a band and
recorded only one album, but they are the ones that caused a bigger impact, since they were the
personification of punk rock. For example, the Sex Pistols protested against the Queen of
England in many of their songs. In the 90s punk evolved into other styles, such as alternative and
grunge, that still hold liberal ideals but not as extremist as punk rock. In the 00s and present
society musicians still use their music as a way of protest of towards authority, voicing and
uniting the oppressed. But even though they do support similar ideals, they don t express them at
with the same aggressiveness and extremism that punk rock possessed. There have been many
other movements in addition to the ones I have mentioned, one of the most recent ones took place
in Egypt. Mark LeVine, author of Music and the Aura of Revolution , informs us that [t]unisian
rapper El GГ©nГ©ral (born Hamada bin (Amr) and Egyptian singer Ramy Essam are two of the

Religious Tolerance In Chaim Potok s The Chosen
In 1620 a group of protestant pilgrims left England aboard the Mayflower because they could not
practice Christianity the way they wanted. They made a pact to not oppress one another based on
religious practices. During the forming of the United States, the government declared freedom of
religion throughout the US. This meant that no one could force another to follow a specific religion.
Chaim Potok s weaves the theme of religious tolerance in his novel, The Chosen. Tony Savo, Reb
Saunders, and Reuven all reveal the theme of religious endurence within the book.
First off, Tony Savo demonstrates tolerance with Reuven s staunch Judaism during their stay at
the hospital. Tony s bed sits next to Reuven s so they have each other as company for a week.
The book suggests that Tony believes in atheism, not in any super natural deity. Tony remarks one
night You re a real religious kid, there, Bobby boy, after Reuven begins to pray with his tefillin
(56). Over the week, Tony had plenty of time to taunt Reuven for sticking to his faith throughout the
hospital stay. Tony also could have ignored Reuven after learning of his Jewish faith. Instead, he

How Men Respond To Women In Red
There are no signs that the battle of the sexes will slow down anytime soon. And now, women can
quote psychology when the urge to call men animals become irresistible.
Interestingly, the evidence that men could be animals, after all, relies on how men respond to
women in red.
According to experimental psychology, men love ladies in red. Well, you knew that already, didn t
you? What you may not know are the reasons why men find women in red so attractive and
sexually desirable.
For the longest time, we assumed that pure social conditioning was why red was such a hit. We
lazily blamed Hollywood and Saint Valentine. But now, researchers have demonstrated that there
are biological reasons why red is the color of love, romance, sex and lust. ... Show more content on

In yet another study, they changed the frame of the picture into different colors. In all presentations
where there was some red, men rated the woman as more attractive and more sexually desirable. In
the red shirt and blue shirt study, when the researchers included a query on dating, men found the
lady in red more dateable. They were also willing to spend more money on her than when she was
in blue.
To rule out social conditioning, the researchers tested whether color red influenced the men s
ratings. The men were unaware of the role of color in their decision. They believed that their
judgments were thoughtful and sophisticated. Conversely, the researchers described the men s
choice as automatic and rather primitive. The men were even unaware that the photos belonged to
the same woman.
Remarkably, the red effect clouded men s judgments only when they were rating the woman s
attractiveness and sexual desirability. It did not influence them when they were assessing the
woman s friendliness, kindness, and intelligence. Also, women who participated in the lady in red
study did not exhibit the color bias. The red effect is therefore limited to males and

Industrial Economy During The Gilded Age
Peter Nguyen
Hartlaub
Modern U.S.
5/12/16
At the turn of the 19th century also known as the Gilded Age, many immigrants came to the
United States looking for opportunities to live a new life that they were not able to live back
home. Many of them may have had hopes of finding a miraculous career that would bring them
fame and fortune just like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Morgan did. But in reality it was not as
glamorous and prosperous as it may have seemed to be. Instead it was filled with greed and
corruption. Although the United States experienced an economic boom, it created an extremely
wealthy upper class. Thus only widening the wealth gap between the rich and poor during this era.
Near the last decades of the 19th century, America s industrial economy skyrocketed. As these
industrial leaders like Carnegie and Rockefeller not only lead the expansion through their respective
industries, but revolutionized businesses while crushing free market competition in the process. As

Tombstone Massacre Essay
I m going to talk about what happened that day of death in Tombstone, Arizona. And what really
happened to end up in a massacre in a little town in Arizona. The shootout is famous for the
Mclaury gang and the Earp brothers ending a feud in bullets and blood. What people don t
believe is that Wyatt Earp was scared to kill a man as a child. So I m going to talk about the
beginning, way before the feud.
Wyatt was born March 19, 1848 in a small town in Illinois called Monmouth. He was the third
born son out of five from Nicholas and Virginia Earp. Wyatt was never fond of being around the
house. He was caught time after time trying to run off and fight the civil war with his brothers

Wyatt was informed that Ike, Billy Clanton and Tom, Frank Mclaury and Wes Fuller were
causing a commotion at the end of town. Wyatt got together Virgil, Morgan, and Doc together to
go end the violence that the gang has created. The Earps and Doc were not expecting there to be
a gun fight, as both Wyatt and Virgil had their guns put in the back holster and pushed to the side,
as if they were not going to be used. When the Earps first get to the men Virgil noticed that all
them were armed and ready to fight. Both Wyatt and Virgil yelled at the men to drop their
weapons. The thing that s the biggest mystery still today is who took the first shot. What the men
say is that two shots went off at the same time. One was from Billy Clanton at Wyatt Earp, and the
other shot was Wyatt s shot at Frank

The law is a powerful tool for the disfranchised and disadvantaged. It can be very difficult to

in situations with school issues that could have had a legal approach but most often parents were

I began by researching and creating presentations and informative packets for parents of skills they
could apply in their daily lives. Aware of the tiring and backbreaking labor parents endured daily, I
was not discouraged by the low attendance during the meetings as informing some was better than
none. It was time consuming process and people asked where I got the energy, as creating letters for
meetings, presentations, buying snacks, and assuring that information be beneficial for parents in
attendance to implement. Having the desire, conviction, and bringing a sense of hope by informing
parents of their rights and answering questions created an caring identity that brought admiration
and respect. That admiration boosted my confidence and energy to move forward to do more, the
view of hope and confidence on parents faces who are informed willing to stand up encourages to
continue on that path. It was hope and encouragement from parents that led me to apply to parent
state conferences in where I would present to a larger audience only energized to continue on this
path of informing parents of their legal rights. Nervous and excited were common feelings at each
presentation hoping the information presented would help bring hope and encouragement for

The History Of Pizza By Matt Lezotte
The History of Pizza By Matt Lezotte
Pepperoni? Sausage? Olive? It seems like everyone likes pizza whether its one way or another.
Pizza has become the most common favorite food among Americans and you can see it s
popularity all over the world. People crave it so much that now you don t need to leave your home
to get a slice of pie. Even in Italy pizza vending machines are starting to appear. Every second
about 300 pizza slices are about to be eaten. The trend has no end in sight and with chains like
pizza hut finding ways to reinvent the pizza people will likely keep buying those delicious slices of
joy. But where did pizza begin? Many know it started in Italy but most just assume it has been
around forever. The early ideas of pizza didn t even come to be since the 1700 s. Pizza started in
Naples. Soon immigrants lead to the first sightings of pizza in America. Then New York wanted
to make pizza easy and inexpensive. Chicago reinvented it so one could eat with a fork and
knife. Pizza keeps evolving and growing and it is truly one of the best inventions ever to exist.
But it started as something only a poor man would eat. The origins of pizza trace back to around
the late 1700 s. People ate flat bread with cheese on it and sometimes a sauce was added. This
was mildly popular but often the flatbread would contain fancy oils and herbs with fine cheese on
top. Many higher ranked Italiens would eat flatbread but with oils and herbs on top to make it taste

What Is The Theme Of Mushrooms By Sylvia Plath
A quiet revolution: perhaps oxymoronic sounding upon first glance. However, the poem
Mushrooms by Sylvia Plath paints a picture of a story about exactly that, doing so through a
subtle metaphor and simple but powerful visual imagery. Though a poem about the oppression of
a group of people, it does not tell a story of despair. In fact, it s quite the opposite, speaking instead
of an uprising of a different sort, of a hope as modest as the mushrooms themselves.
Mushrooms may seem at first like a very peculiar thing to base an entire poem around. However, the
author leaves scattered hints throughout the stanzas that this may be about more than a bunch of
timid fungi. The first hint of this is in the second stanza: our toes, our noses / take ... Show more

Talk of how they were earless and voiceless certainly doesn t seem to paint a particularly cheerful
picture. And though I agree that cheerful wouldn t be an appropriate adjective to use, there is a
glimmer of hope poking out like the cap of a mushroom at dusk that, once grasped, becomes the
dominant mood. Picking out specific lines from the poem, you can tell that this is a poem of
triumph, one disguised as a story of oppression much like how the simple mushrooms are
disguised as soft and non intimidating. Nobody sees us / stops us, betrays us / the small grains
make room. These lines on stanza three show the beginning of the mushrooms presence on the
Earth, as grains of dirt part to let them through. This is only the first indication of the beginning of
a revolution. One that only grows as they grow, So many of us! So many of us! the author cheers in
stanza eight. By sheer number and by sheer will, the mushrooms continue to take over unnoticed,
unannounced. And by the poem s end, a battle had been won. And this is naturally something to
take pride in. A quiet pride, as it is in the mushroom s nature to be humble. But pride

It wasn t just schools that got hit by the segregation; it was everything, water fountains, stores,
even toilets. The hatred of black people was widespread. It was universally; even some black
people started hating themselves for their skin color. There were two psychologists that did a
study on children and they had picked some white kids and some black kids and given two dolls
a white one and a black one. The psychologists would watch and take notes on how the kids
would treat the dolls, their studied showed that the white doll were well kept, clean and the one

wanted to take care of the white baby doll and didn t care about that black one. The psychologist
urged that the kid were being deprived of self respect from segregation and that it invited their
learning ability. The case won, and made it so all public schools had to desegregate. But people
didn t like the decision that was made and fought back. The case seemed that did not succeed in
completely desegregating public schools, the case did get some schools to desegregate but not all

Heartbreak Research Paper
Heartbreak can physically and emotionally hurt someone. I believe 100 percent that a broken heart
and emotional pain can negatively affect physical health, says Courtney Nesbitt, L.C.S.W.
Research has shown that when someone has been through a breakup they have similar brain
activity as when they are shown a picture of a loved one. Researchers concluded that rejection,
emotional and physical pain are all processed in the same places of the brain. When both the
parasympathetic system (part of the nervous system) and the sympathetic nervous system are both
turned on, you can experience chest pains and discomfort, says Meghan Laslocky.

Personal Computer Impact
Throughout history, new technology has always had an economic impact, each technology
differing in significance of impact. In some cases this impact may not be as drastic as it appears at
first glance, and in others, it may be more so. The personal computer, first introduced in 1975, has
certainly had an impact on the economy of the developed world in which it is, including the United
States. However, there are those out three who believe that the personal computerhas not had as
great an impact on economics in the United States as it would appear at first glance. The personal
computerhas certainly affected the economy, but the questions of How much? , and Who remain.
When the personal computer first came onto the scene in the 1970s, many companies tried to
jump into the new market. Some of the names involved are still familiar household names even
still today, but some failed in this new market quickly after joining. One name that is still easily
recognizable today is Apple. In 1976, Apple designed and released the Apple I. However, it wasn t
until 1980 that personal computers became affordable enough that they could be used at home. In
that year, Commodore released a personal computer that only cost consumers $299, which was

The Stages Of An Unreflective Thinker
Critical thinking is being able to evaluate an issue or situation to form a judgment. Having the
ability to think clearly and rationally, being able to have an argument and understand the main
concept and question any doubts you have and making your own conclusion. Being a good
critical thinker can help you in a lot of ways professionally and personally. Employers often want
to see someone that can think rationally and that is able to make their business grow and develop
they want someone that will take initiative in crucial situations. In our personal lives, it is
important so we learn how to distinguish the main facts about an argument and learn to analyze
the problem and make a conclusion of what needs to be done to help solve and prevent any future
problems. According to Linda Elder and Richard Paul, there are six stages of a critical thinker the
unreflective thinker, the challenged thinker, the beginning thinker, the advanced thinker, and
finally the accomplished thinker which is where we would all want to be in. (The Critical
Thinking Community , 2010) Stage one the unreflective thinker is simply someone that is
unaware of what role thinking is playing in their lives. I think we are all born as an unreflective
thinker and some people don t know the useful conception of what thinking really is and they don t
develop better thinking skills and end up dying the same way. Being an unreflective thinker means
that you know you have a problem but don t take the time or don t

Stability Operations Essay
Stability operations are an important function of the military arm of national power after a period
of conflict. Stability operations by definition assist in supporting the host nation government by
establishing civil security, civil control, supporting the host nation government (HN), restoring
essential services, and assisting in infrastructure and economic improvements. In order for stability
operations to be effective, there must be a complete and thorough analysis of the lines of effort
(LOE), identification of risks and mitigation techniques with the intention of advance the desired
end state. The LOE Establish Civil Security advances the desired end state of creating a Safe and

Dead Sea Scrolls Essay
The Dead Sea Scrolls
In 1947 in a cave near the Dead sea in the Jordan Desert, a fifteen year old boy chased after one of
his goats that wandered off. This boy s name was Muhammad adh Dhib. While going after his goat,
the boy stumbled upon perhaps the greatest religious discovery of the modern era. Inside the cave,
he found broken jars that contained scrolls written in a strange language, wrapped in linen cloth
and leather. These scrolls would later become known as the Dead Sea Scrolls. This first discovery
produced seven scrolls and started an archaeological search that produced thousands of scroll
fragments in eleven caves.

John Trever of the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research was allowed to investigate
the scrolls and was stunned to find that the scrolls closely resemble the Nash Papyrus, the once
known oldest fragment of the Hebrew Bible dated at or around 150 BC. One of the scrolls was a
complete copy of the book of the prophet Isaiah. Trever also examined three other scrolls; the
Manual of Discipline, a commentary on the book of Habbakuk, and one called the Genesis
Apocryphon. Trever took photographs of the texts to William Foxwell Albright of John Hopkins
University in Baltimore, who declared the scrolls dated back to around 100 BC.

Haitian revolution Essay
In 1791 revolution broke out in the French colony of Saint Domingue, later called Haiti. The
Haitian Revolution resounded in communities surrounding the Atlantic Ocean. One of the
wealthiest European outposts in the New World, the Caribbean island s western third had some
of the largest and most brutal slave plantations. Slave laborers cultivated sugar, coffee, indigo,
and cotton, and they endured horrible death rates, requiring constant infusions of slaves from
Africa. In 1789 roughly 465,000 black slaves lived in the French colony on the island, along with
fewer than 31,000 whites. In addition, there were about 23,000 free blacks and mixed race people

The war became more complicated in 1793 when the British invaded Saint Domingue. The
Spanish, who had a colony on the eastern two thirds of Hispaniola, also entered the fray by
supporting armies of escaped slaves, including a force under the command of an ex slave named
Toussaint Louverture. Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger
Felicte Sonthonax in the northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to
every slave in summer and autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the
French National Convention abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794.This
action transformed the conflict. Louverture abandoned the Spanish and began to fight for the
French and the freedom of his people. Over the next couple of years, Louverture consolidated
power on the island and created rigid rules that compelled ex slaves to work on plantations so as
to make the island productive again. In 1795, because of events in Europe, the Spanish signed a
peace treaty that ceded their colony on the island to the French. In 1798 Louverture negotiated a
treaty with the British, convincing them to leave the island and promising not to support any slave
rebellions in British colonies. He also sought to develop commercial relations with the United
States, even as the Quasi War (1798 1800) broke out with France, by sending Joseph Bunel to
Philadelphia. Bunel was so successful that he dined

Adversity In Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin In The Sun
People constantly determine that hardships prepare them for an anomalous triumph and that
without adversity they will not have the strength to excel. However, in trying to achieve
adversity people damage their psychological well being, just like the Tuskegee Airmen who
faced racial discrimination for serving their country. Although this may be true, the Roman poet
Horace elucidates that Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous
circumstances would have lain dormant . This is often exemplified in A Raisin in the Sun and
through Cristian Mariano Deppeler. To initiate, if it wasn t for the hardships that adversity
exposes people to, then many would not see meaning in their life, and in some cases, end up
putting and end to it. For instance, the story of Cristian Mariano Deppeler, a social
communicator that is known today for his video on YouTube in which he shocked the world and
affirmed that he is not disabled . Even though the doctors said that Deppeler was going to be a

How Does Magic Play In A Midsummer Night s Dream
A dream is an unrealistic or self deluding fantasy. A Midsummer Night s Dream is a romantic
comedy that is written by William Shakespeare. It was one of the most popular plays written during
that time. In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare discusses the importance of magic
in dreams, nightmares the actors have while sleeping, and how love can persuade the actor having
the dream.
In the play A Midsummer Night s Dream, magic plays a big role in Titania and Bottom s dream.
When Oberon found out that Titania is raising a foster child, he sprinkles a magic love potion on
her eyes while she sleeps. This love potion will make her fall in love with the first thing that she
sees when she wakes. Meanwhile, Bottom and others gather in the woods to practice a play to
perform for King Theseus. As Bottom was waiting for his cue, Puck transforms his head into the
head of an ass. After the men saw Bottom, they ran with fear. All alone, Bottom started to sing to
prove he was not afraid. As he started to sing, Titania woke with the question What angel wakes
me from my flowery bed? As Titania falls in love with Bottom, Oberon takes the child for his own.

Political Philosophy Of Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century philosopher who is regarded as one of the forefathers of modern
political philosophy was born on April 5, 1588 in Westport, near Malmesbury, Wiltshire in
England. The unique mind of Thomas Hobbes found profound interest in disciplines like
geometry, physics and math, and studied at Magdalen Hall in Oxford. Hobbes is popularly
known for his masterpiece The Leviathan, his book that was published in the year of 1651 .
Hobbes is well known for being an atheist and for the fruition of what we now know as the social
contract theory which was the method of justifying political principles or arrangements by appeal
to the agreement that would be made among suitably situated rational, free, and equal persons
(Hobbes, 1651). He is infamous for having used the social contract method to arrive at the
astounding conclusion that we ought to submit to the authority of an undivided and unlimited
sovereign power (Hobbes 1651) . Though Hobbes had formed ideologies and applicable viewpoints
on both moral and political philosophy, his conceptualization of moral philosophy has been less
influential than his political philosophy, because the theory was rather ambivalent for the content to
be agreed upon by the general public of the 17th Century. Hobbes had many arguments of why
human beings disobey the law.
One argument that Hobbes uses to illustrate his generalized idea of man is metaphysical: the theory
that only bodies in motion are real and

The Punk Subculture
The punk subculture was one of the influential revolutions on the 20th century, which originated in
in the 1970s and spread across countries that included the United Kingdom, the United States of
America and Australia. This subculture was based on a loud, aggressive genre of music called
punk rock, and it intended to gain individual freedom for the working class. This essay explains the
journey from the evolution and widespread of the punk subculture in the UK in 1980s. As the title
suggests, punk fashionhas been ruptured, tweaked and re interpreted by individuals and fashion
designers over and over again, and its style has been re adapted to juxtapose on contemporary
trends.
The term subculture refers to a group of people who have similarities between them, and these
similarities distinguish them significantly from other social groups. The similarities do not mean
religious or political affiliation. These groups have different beliefs than the main culture and are
youth oriented. These subcultures have their own styles of music, ideology, ... Show more content

Enough With The Blame Game
ENOUGH WITH THE BLAME GAME
So, it a Thursday morning and I am at work reading News Papers. I always want to be up to date
with current affairs in my country Uganda and all over the world. Politics interest me, and it
always makes headlines. If you looked at today s New Papers, you would see what I am saying.
These stories will either be good or bad, depending on a particular News Paper s ideology or
conception of the events. Yes, they take sides too; which is okay, don t we all?
Speaking of taking sides, why do we always take our side? Why do we always blame our failures
and all the mischief in this world on other people? Why are we always right and others wrong?
Sometimes I want to think it is instinct; that we are born with an inherent aspiration to choose our
side over anyone else s; that we are supposed to be our own defenders, at all material times and that
we never go wrong in our own eyes, but is this so?
The world has very many problems right now; problems that affect each one of us, in one way or
another, regardless of where we are. We are aware of this, but do we care? Or if we do, do we care
enough?
I believe we will register milestone achievement in solving the world s biggest problems if we all
felt responsible for them in one way or the other. There is war, xenophobia, racism, terrorism,
illiteracy, poverty, hunger, I could go on and on. Each one of us can do something that can or has

Western Influence on Kuwait
Kuwait and Western influence Over the past decades, Kuwait, like most Islamic countries have
practiced strict measures in terms of their governance system with lots of times the religious
aspect influencing greatly the kind of government in place and the type of governance that is used
within Kuwait. This resulted in a closed, less democratic, religious, stereotypical and generally
patriarchal society. This has however undergone a lot of change particularly with the embracing of
the Western culture that is more open, diverse and liberal in nature. Positives of western culture

of lives of the Kuwaiti in the sense that people have become more open minded and the society
has turned from suppressing the women, both domestically and socially, to embracing them and
liberating them to make choices and participate in social events like men do. Ladies currently
enjoy a lot of freedom with regard to what they put on and how they express themselves. Kuwaitis
have also adopted modern pop culture something that was unheard of in the past. They have
developed a sense of taste for whatever they buy, whatever they listen to, what they eat, watch, what
they do on their bodies, hair and teeth. It is paradoxical that when Kuwait gained her independence
from the United Kingdom in 1961, her citizens proclaimed liberation, when in actual sense there

In the pleasant description, I discussed the chirping of birds. I have discussed the sounds of water in
the fountain and the rustling of leaves due to cool breeze. This description emphasizes the fact that
the weather out there is very pleasant and the people sitting there are relishing the moments. While
the leaves rustling was creating an amazing environment, there were also some dead leaves in the
fountain decaying over days and months contaminating the environment.
I also skipped some details in order to maintain the mood and tone. In my pleasant description, I
skipped the dead and decaying leaves settled in the fountain bottom, while discussing the stream of
water rising from the fountain. The reader could have got a negative impact of a good place had I
mentioned the garbage details in the positive description.
Similes and metaphors also helped me writing the description. The water from fountain crafting a
magical melody depicts the beautiful environment out there. The rustle of leaves portrays the grace
of nature. The bright colors of flowers have strong resemblance with juvenile period of human
being, which makes the description more pleasant. Similarly, gloominess specifies sadness in the

Human Nature In Shakespeare s Hamlet
To, be or not to be, is one of William Shakespeare s most notable inquiries regarding the self in the
tragedy Hamlet (3.1.56). Hamlet is one of Shakespeare s most complicated characters, in that the
audience is able to view Hamlet s internal struggle. By orchestrating chaos, Shakespeare creates an
environment in which the male characters; Hamletand Claudius, are free to contemplate and express
their respective nature. However, when it comes to Gertrude; Hamlet s mother and initial instigator
of Hamlet s conflict, there is no interior examination. There is only recognition of her sexuality, and
the chaos that ensues from her decision to lay with Claudius. So why does someone so interested in

84). Already the concept of human nature alludes to a hierarchy. Those of a wealthier status are
more capable of attainting culture, and therefore able to cultivate their nature. This may be one of
the reasons why women, who were seen as imperfect men, did not have the freedom to explore
their interiority (Marquis 1257). Women were not made in the image of God, but rather: she is the
image of man in a restrictive and analogical sense, because woman was made from man, after man,
inferior to him and his likeness (Farber). Women were by design lower in the hierarchy. Not only
did the Renaissance now contemplate the self, but they also found celebration of the self. Cultural
historian, Jacob Burckhardt, argues that: In the Middle Ages, man was conscious of himself only
as a member of a race, people, party, family or corporation only through some general category
(Burke 193). During the Renaissance, however: ...this veil first melted into air...man became a
spiritual individual, and recognized himself as such (193). Man could now be a spiritual individual
outside of the theological realm because of this humanist movement of the Renaissance. This idea
was simplified by the Renaissance Italian philosopher, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, in his work
Oration on the Dignity of Man. He believed that

This disassociation allows for the whole sale slaughter of people with moral justification. The
unforeseen byproduct of this disassociation, as Cameron points out, can be seen in the 1950 s
and 1960 s, when many veterans consigned their wives to the kitchen. The intended product of
this disassociation, however, was to kill Japanese soldiers. The Marines would reap the benefits
of this first in the Guadalcanal campaign of 1942. With the U.S. Marines of First Division
engaged in a life or death struggle against their Japanese opponents, the cartoonish portraits of
four eyed, slow Japanese soldiers burned into the American Marine s mind kept them from
thinking about the enemy as men who are carrying pictures of their families eerily similar to the
pictures that were carried by Americans. Using the invasion of Peleliu as a backdrop for his
analysis, Cameron expands upon his analysis of the individual Marine to the collective thought of
the organization. The U.S. Marine self image caused Marine units on Peleliu to charge head first
into the waiting Japanese defense with foolhardy, head on assaults which they stubbornly pressed.
The Marine Corps, even through their hyper masculine indoctrination, had not prepared their

Gallipoli Movie Review Essay
The film Gallipoli takes place during World War I s Gallipoli campaign in 1915. The two main
characters in the film are Archy and Frank. Archy and Frank are from Western Australia and they
both enlist to fight in Gallipoli. Archy is an extremely fast runner who meets Frank at an athletics
competition. We can see from the beginning that Archy is eager to join the war. After being turned
down because he was underage, he goes to Perth, anxious for someone to accept him into the light
horsemen. Frank, however, is skeptical about Australians wanting to join the war. He tells Archy
that it s not our war to fight . Despite this statement, Frank eventually joins up into the Infantry.
The story revolves around Frank and Archy s experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Archy and Frank stick together through all of the war training exercises in Egypt and they fight
together on the front at Gallipoli.
Another element of mate ship is shown in the last part of the film. When the final battle of
Gallipoli approaches, Archy persuades Major Barton to assign Frank as his runner because Archy
knows that Frank does not have as much commitment as he does on the fighting service. Archy
gets Frank a safer position and decided to sacrifice his own life for his best mate. (Gammage)
Some more ideals that are glorified in the film are bravery and honor. The experiences at Gallipoli
gave Australians a new identity which made them distinguishable from any other nation. At the
start of the film we see that almost everyone wants to enlist in the war. Although many Australian
men enlist totally naive to the dangers awaiting them, once they are in Gallipoli they fight
fearlessly, with the attitude that they are doing it for their country. Anyone who is studying
Australian history would do well to watch this film. The film is historically accurate which means
that students can use it as a direct source of information and evidence. The fact that the film is
portrayed as a dramatized story makes the many aspects of Australia and its participation of World
War I much easier to understand than a any text book would. (Broadbent)
The film creates a feeling of empathy which

Water Scarcity in History
Natural ecosystems require water for the survival of the plants and animals that live within them.
These ecosystems help to regulate water quality and quantity of water. Wetlands hold water in
periods of high rainfall, slowly releasing it during dryer periods, and purify it of heavy metals and
other contaminants. Forests recharge our groundwater, which can be used elsewhere for drinking
or irrigation. (Bergkamp 1) Natural ecosystems can help to prevent floods, provide shelter and
millions of people are able to get their food, water, and fuel from these areas. As the world
population continues to expand people are overusing water and destroying many natural resources.
By destroying these ecosystems, more that 3,500 species are threatened... Show more content on

Desert areas have a short supply of water, the climate is very dry and frequently there are long
periods of drought. In some areas of Africa there are very few water sources even available.
Africa is home to 6.3 percent of the world s population, but it contains only 1.4 percent of the
world s renewable fresh water. Water shortages, polluted water and poor water managementare
causing serious public health problems in Africa. Water related diseases such as malaria, cholera,
schistosomiasis and dysentery harm or kill millions of people each year. People are not able to
maintain a minimum standard of personal hygiene and are forced out of necessity to drink water
that has been contaminated by human, animal or other types of waste. Since there is no medical
treatment for these diseases, the only answer is a safe water supply. Some of these diseases in hot
climates are not only caused by bad sanitation, but by the presence of water. Insects and parasites
breed in standing water, so water that is transported from one place to another may be spreading
disease. In these underdeveloped countries there is not enough money to install safe water
supplies. In areas where water is not readily available the women and children carry water long
distances to their homes. As the population in Africa increases, so does the demand for water.
Experts measure water availability in terms of the amount of annual

In between the youngest member of the family asks a serious of question that is than answer
through the reciting of the Haggadah. Every year at the end of December we celebrate New
Year s Day in the American culture, but in Judaism they have a day called Rosh Hashanah. This
is the New Year for the Jews. It is a solemn and holy time of the year. Starting on the first and
second day of September or October. This day is also known as the Day of Remembrance and
the Day of Judgment. These days are a reminder of how God created the world and responsibility
that God has appointed them. Another reason is that they believe during this time is when God
judges their fate for the next year. So they use these days to overlook their life and repair their
relationship with God. An important part of this day is to sound the Shofar, which is horn that is
blasted in the book of Leviticus and Numbers. A total of 100 blows through the horn from the
synagogue would be sounded each day. Any kind of work is not allowed on this day, but they are
to spend it in the synagogue.
During Rosh Hashanah they do not have a big feast like during the Passover celebration, but
they would eat apples and bread dipped in honey. This symbolizes a sweet new year. After eating
this they would say a blessing followed by a prayer. Challah is a bread that is braided together this

The Fair Tax Is A Proposed Tax Reform
The Fair TaxВ® is a proposed tax reform to the current taxation process of the federal government
in the United States. Written by John Linder and first introduced to Congress in 1999, the Fair
TaxВ® is a proposition for the federal government to get rid of all current taxes (including federal
income taxes, estate taxes, payroll taxes, etc.) and taxonly the purchasing of goods and services for
personal consumption. Instead of taxes being applied to income, each individual would receive
their full paycheck with no federal taxes deducted and instead a 23% sales tax ($0.23 for every
$1.00) would be included in the price of an item. This translates to about a 30% sales tax ($0.23
on top of every $0.77) today, because instead of the item being $1.00 it would be sold for $0.77
with a $0.23 tax on top, whereas the price under the Fair TaxВ® would be $1.00 with the tax
included in the price. This percentage would be adjusted each year based on the government s
revenue in the previous fiscal year. To make up for the large tax on sales, each citizen would
receive a prebate or annual consumption allowance check that should negate the sales tax on
purchases that are essential for living. The prebate would be given to each individual based on the
poverty level. (1) There are several points made opposing the Fair TaxВ®, but in this paper I will
mainly be discussing the supporting points and how it would benefit our country s citizens,
businesses, economy, and government. During the first

Some Siding Materials You May Want To Consider Before Choosing New Siding For Your Home
Choosing new siding for your house is a big decision because you ll have to live with the siding
for years to come. The first step is deciding on the siding material you like best. Your siding
contractor can also help you choose the best siding for your home s architecture and neighborhood.
Here are some possible options.
Affordable Siding Options
If price is a major consideration, then aluminum or vinyl siding could be good choices. These are
popular with homeowners because they are durable and affordable. Choosing between the two is a
matter of which look you like best because they both require very little maintenance. Aluminum has
the potential to dent when struck with enough force and vinyl has the potential to melt or crack in
extreme temperatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All it requires is the right color and a surface texture applied that looks like wood grain. While
vinyl and fiber cement siding can mimic wood and provide the benefit of less maintenance, they
don t look exactly like wood up close. If you want the classic look of wood siding, you can
choose wood boards, logs, or shingles. If you want the look of wood without as much
maintenance, then you can choose engineered wood that is made from real wood so it looks
natural. However, engineered wood is less expensive, more durable, and needs less maintenance.
Stone And Brick Options
Stone is another good siding material to consider. Stone and brick are among the most
expensive siding materials and the labor costs to install them can be higher too since they
require special skills to install. However, brick and stone are very durable and usually require
very little maintenance. If you love the look of stone, but can t afford it, you may want a stone
veneer applied instead. It costs much less, but it is also much less durable and won t last nearly as
long.

Togo s Economy
Years after independence, the politico economic system of Togo was strongly influenced by French
settlers, not only in the field of foreign trade and investment in export goods but also in the
monetary and budgetary policies. At that time, Togo s economy was prosperous and its
macroeconomic aggregates showed signs of growth.
Afterward in the 1980 90s, exogenous and endogenous factors had caused Togo s economy to
stagnate. Among these factors were the deterioration of the terms of trade, the suspension of
development aid from Bretton Woods Institutions (BWIs), the CFA franc devaluation and the socio
economic crisis, just to mention a few. The failure of the four (4) consecutive five year plans had
been a determining factor to this economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, many researches show the intrinsic link between Economic Development Patterns
(EDPs) and the reduction of the poverty rate. HPAEs most successful economies, especially China,
have attested of this correlation meaning that EDPs impact positively on economic growth cutting
down the incidence of poverty. To corroborate this argument as an example, the modeling of
Chinese economy in the 1978 s reforms had greatly contributed to the economic recovery of China.
Therefore, beyond the economic cooperation that links Togo and China in the areas of trade and
Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs), China s EDP might be one of the solution approaches to solve
development challenges that Togo faces.
Nevertheless, it is obvious that differences may exist between China and Togo, not only in the size
of the economy but also in the political and economic systems. Should these differences be relevant

Comparing Euro Disney s Fiscal Of Spending Patterns Of...
1.How could the company have erred so badly in its estimates of spending patterns of European
customers?
In my opinion, these are three main reasons attributing to Euro Disney fail. Firstly, the lack of prior
market research and study for European lifestyle and cultural before European Disney built. Euro
Disney chose to spend excessive expenditures on the establishmentпјЊbut Euro Disney did not
recognize the geographic and cultural differences between Europeans and Americans. For
exampleпјЊmost of Europeans will not notice leather wallpaper when they had their lunch in
DisneyпјЊand most Europeans are not used to stay overnight in the theme park, so the heavy
investment in hotels will bring more risk for Euro Disney. Secondly, higher price did... Show more

The attitude of Disney management is confidently dismissive making them appear out of touch
with the cultural differences.
2. Could a better reading of the impact of cultural differences on revenues have been achieved?

Culture difference will influence the number of tourists and the acceptance level of customers. Euro
Disney followed the brand policies to the English instructions only, no wine providing in the theme
park, high price of ticket, and standardized merchandise and food itemsпјЊconsequently wide
spread dissatisfaction among the customers. When a new brand enters different cultures, it is
inevitable for customers in new market to repel it or spend much time to accept itпјЊso the new
brand should be brought closer to local culture by providing a platform to interact with the brand in
customer s terms. Also culture different will bring different consumption patterns, Europeans are
likely to spend reasonable price on entertainment, so the price of Euro Disney will be too high to
accept and decrease the number of tourists in Euro Disney. Different culture has different drinking
and eating habitsпјЊEuro Disney forbad drinking wine in lunch timeпјЊbut most French like to
drink wine when they enjoy their meal. All of these elements deriving from culture difference will
influence the revenue of Euro Disney and even result in the failure of Euro Disney.

  • 3. The United States Essay 1. The Commonwealth They Served The weather was seasonally cold in Pennsylvania s Capitol late in 1914. On Sunday morning, December 27, the temperature was 1 degree Fahrenheit. This reading was the lowest ever registered in the last month of the year during the almost three decade history of the Harrisburg weather station. Nevertheless, the cold did not dim the spirit of the holiday season as the Harrisburg Evening Telegraph newspaper cheerfully proclaimed, Perfect Christmas Makes City Happy. During that week, Governor John K. Tener, in the last month of his term, released a legislatively mandated report that made history. The Report of the Economy and Efficiency Commission, for one of the very few times in Pennsylvania s Chronicle, provided the public with a roster of all 5,152 state employees. The release of this document was a key milestone in the Commonwealth s early 20th century effort to improve its personnel management practices. By listing names, this document provides an opportunity to recognize the often unheralded contributions of selected state employees assigned to organizations under the general supervision of the Governor. The register also affords an invaluable chance to appreciate how the offices, bureaus, and divisions make Pennsylvania work. Researching their efforts brought to light a collective commitment to assist the public. This attribute is a common virtue among Pennsylvania state employees, both past and present. It is the one thing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If earnings are expected to grow in the future, the estimated P/E will be lower than the current P /E. This measure is also used to compare one company to another with a forward looking focus. Earnings per share reflects the profitability of the business. This rate indicates the profit per share created. The higher EPS, the more profit created. However, the low EPS doesn t necessarily mean the business has performed badly. Although Tesla s EPS growth rate ( 193.6% EPS for the current year) is low, Tesla is seen as a prospective business. The reason is the business earns and reinvest its earning back to other field for business development. And the next year expected high EPS growth (135.47%) can also be the fully illustration on this. Return on assets (ROA) measures how profitability a business relates to its total assets. Generally, ROA needs to be positive if the business is growing. However, not all companies with negative ROAs are always bad investments. Tesla s negative ROA are interpreted that high risk project (trade to fuel) have been reinvested. • 8. Punk Rock And Punk Music In the 70s and 80s punk music emerged. It was a style that was derived from rock music, and similarly to rock, it defied hierarchies. However, punk rock defied hierarchies in a more extremist level than how rock did it, it promoted anarchy, which means that it was against any type of government (Davies 1 2), Most people can probably recognize the Sex Pistols, the Clash, and the Ramones, as the most popular bands. The Sex Pistols only lasted three years as a band and recorded only one album, but they are the ones that caused a bigger impact, since they were the personification of punk rock. For example, the Sex Pistols protested against the Queen of England in many of their songs. In the 90s punk evolved into other styles, such as alternative and grunge, that still hold liberal ideals but not as extremist as punk rock. In the 00s and present society musicians still use their music as a way of protest of towards authority, voicing and uniting the oppressed. But even though they do support similar ideals, they don t express them at with the same aggressiveness and extremism that punk rock possessed. There have been many other movements in addition to the ones I have mentioned, one of the most recent ones took place in Egypt. Mark LeVine, author of Music and the Aura of Revolution , informs us that [t]unisian rapper El GГ©nГ©ral (born Hamada bin (Amr) and Egyptian singer Ramy Essam are two of the most well known examples of how music has challenged the social, ... And now, women can quote psychology when the urge to call men animals become irresistible. Interestingly, the evidence that men could be animals, after all, relies on how men respond to women in red. According to experimental psychology, men love ladies in red. Well, you knew that already, didn t you? What you may not know are the reasons why men find women in red so attractive and sexually desirable. For the longest time, we assumed that pure social conditioning was why red was such a hit. We lazily blamed Hollywood and Saint Valentine. But now, researchers have demonstrated that there are biological reasons why red is the color of love, romance, sex and lust. ... In all presentations where there was some red, men rated the woman as more attractive and more sexually desirable. In the red shirt and blue shirt study, when the researchers included a query on dating, men found the lady in red more dateable. They were also willing to spend more money on her than when she was in blue. To rule out social conditioning, the researchers tested whether color red influenced the men s ratings. The men were unaware of the role of color in their decision. They believed that their judgments were thoughtful and sophisticated. Conversely, the researchers described the men s choice as automatic and rather primitive. The men were even unaware that the photos belonged to the same woman. Remarkably, the red effect clouded men s judgments only when they were rating the woman s attractiveness and sexual desirability. It did not influence them when they were assessing the woman s friendliness, kindness, and intelligence. Also, women who participated in the lady in red study did not exhibit the color bias. Pizza has become the most common favorite food among Americans and you can see it s popularity all over the world. People crave it so much that now you don t need to leave your home to get a slice of pie. Even in Italy pizza vending machines are starting to appear. Every second about 300 pizza slices are about to be eaten. The trend has no end in sight and with chains like pizza hut finding ways to reinvent the pizza people will likely keep buying those delicious slices of joy. But where did pizza begin? Many know it started in Italy but most just assume it has been around forever. The early ideas of pizza didn t even come to be since the 1700 s. Pizza started in Naples. • 17. What Is The Theme Of Mushrooms By Sylvia Plath A quiet revolution: perhaps oxymoronic sounding upon first glance. However, the poem Mushrooms by Sylvia Plath paints a picture of a story about exactly that, doing so through a subtle metaphor and simple but powerful visual imagery. Though a poem about the oppression of a group of people, it does not tell a story of despair. In fact, it s quite the opposite, speaking instead of an uprising of a different sort, of a hope as modest as the mushrooms themselves. Mushrooms may seem at first like a very peculiar thing to base an entire poem around. However, the author leaves scattered hints throughout the stanzas that this may be about more than a bunch of timid fungi. The first hint of this is in the second stanza: our toes, our noses / take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Picking out specific lines from the poem, you can tell that this is a poem of triumph, one disguised as a story of oppression much like how the simple mushrooms are disguised as soft and non intimidating. Nobody sees us / stops us, betrays us / the small grains make room. These lines on stanza three show the beginning of the mushrooms presence on the Earth, as grains of dirt part to let them through. This is only the first indication of the beginning of a revolution. One that only grows as they grow, So many of us! So many of us! the author cheers in stanza eight. By sheer number and by sheer will, the mushrooms continue to take over unnoticed, unannounced. And by the poem s end, a battle had been won. And this is naturally something to take pride in. There were two psychologists that did a study on children and they had picked some white kids and some black kids and given two dolls a white one and a black one. The psychologists would watch and take notes on how the kids would treat the dolls, their studied showed that the white doll were well kept, clean and the one that was taken care of. The black doll on the other hand was tossed away and forgotten; the kids wanted to take care of the white baby doll and didn t care about that black one. The psychologist urged that the kid were being deprived of self respect from segregation and that it invited their learning ability. The case won, and made it so all public schools had to desegregate. But people didn t like the decision that was made and fought back. The case seemed that did not succeed in completely desegregating public schools, the case did get some schools to desegregate but not all in the United States in the 1960 s. The parents had gotten their wishes and their kids could go to an all white public school. The personal computer, first introduced in 1975, has certainly had an impact on the economy of the developed world in which it is, including the United States. However, there are those out three who believe that the personal computerhas not had as great an impact on economics in the United States as it would appear at first glance. The personal computerhas certainly affected the economy, but the questions of How much? , and Who remain. When the personal computer first came onto the scene in the 1970s, many companies tried to jump into the new market. Some of the names involved are still familiar household names even still today, but some failed in this new market quickly after joining. One name that is still easily recognizable today is Apple. In 1976, Apple designed and released the Apple I. However, it wasn t until 1980 that personal computers became affordable enough that they could be used at home. In that year, Commodore released a personal computer that only cost consumers $299, which was more affordable to the average consumer than previous computer prices had been. Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger Felicte Sonthonax in the northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to every slave in summer and autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the French National Convention abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794.This action transformed the conflict. • 29. Political Philosophy Of Thomas Hobbes Thomas Hobbes Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century philosopher who is regarded as one of the forefathers of modern political philosophy was born on April 5, 1588 in Westport, near Malmesbury, Wiltshire in England. The unique mind of Thomas Hobbes found profound interest in disciplines like geometry, physics and math, and studied at Magdalen Hall in Oxford. Hobbes is popularly known for his masterpiece The Leviathan, his book that was published in the year of 1651 . Hobbes is well known for being an atheist and for the fruition of what we now know as the social contract theory which was the method of justifying political principles or arrangements by appeal to the agreement that would be made among suitably situated rational, free, and equal persons (Hobbes, 1651). He is infamous for having used the social contract method to arrive at the astounding conclusion that we ought to submit to the authority of an undivided and unlimited sovereign power (Hobbes 1651) . Though Hobbes had formed ideologies and applicable viewpoints on both moral and political philosophy, his conceptualization of moral philosophy has been less influential than his political philosophy, because the theory was rather ambivalent for the content to be agreed upon by the general public of the 17th Century. Hobbes had many arguments of why human beings disobey the law. By orchestrating chaos, Shakespeare creates an environment in which the male characters; Hamletand Claudius, are free to contemplate and express their respective nature. Those of a wealthier status are more capable of attainting culture, and therefore able to cultivate their nature. This may be one of the reasons why women, who were seen as imperfect men, did not have the freedom to explore their interiority (Marquis 1257). Women were not made in the image of God, but rather: she is the image of man in a restrictive and analogical sense, because woman was made from man, after man, inferior to him and his likeness (Farber). Women were by design lower in the hierarchy. Not only did the Renaissance now contemplate the self, but they also found celebration of the self. Cultural historian, Jacob Burckhardt, argues that: In the Middle Ages, man was conscious of himself only as a member of a race, people, party, family or corporation only through some general category (Burke 193). During the Renaissance, however: ...this veil first melted into air...man became a spiritual individual, and recognized himself as such (193). The warrior code that they embodied and the myth of the samurai warrior are still alive in modern Japan today. In his book American Samurai: Myth and Imagination in the Conduct of Battle in the First Marine Division 1941 1951, Craig Cameron draws parallels between the United States Marine Corps and the feudal Japanese samurai. The unforeseen byproduct of this disassociation, as Cameron points out, can be seen in the 1950 s and 1960 s, when many veterans consigned their wives to the kitchen. The intended product of this disassociation, however, was to kill Japanese soldiers. The Marines would reap the benefits of this first in the Guadalcanal campaign of 1942. With the U.S. Marines of First Division engaged in a life or death struggle against their Japanese opponents, the cartoonish portraits of four eyed, slow Japanese soldiers burned into the American Marine s mind kept them from thinking about the enemy as men who are carrying pictures of their families eerily similar to the pictures that were carried by Americans. Using the invasion of Peleliu as a backdrop for his analysis, Cameron expands upon his analysis of the individual Marine to the collective thought of the organization. The U.S. Marine self image caused Marine units on Peleliu to charge head first into the waiting Japanese defense with foolhardy, head on assaults which they stubbornly pressed. The Marine Corps, even through their hyper masculine indoctrination, had not prepared their Marines any better than their U.S. Army counterparts on the island. Before Peleliu, the perception of combat had been that of a clean affair due to the romanticized images of World War I. After, due to Tom Lea s reporting of events, the ... Argumentative Essay On Safe Driving Overall, this new law does reflect the values of society and addresses the changing concerns over safe driving in the era of smartphones, although driver reactions were mixed. To accurately measure usage and the societal mood on this issue, the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) conducted a series of five surveys before the law was introduced. The last four surveys (2008 2011) included a question measuring community attitudes in relation to the (then hypothetical) introduction of a new law banning the use of hands free mobile phones while driving. This hypothetical law attracted 39% community support. This was largely because: People clearly believed that their chances of having an accident would increase if they were using a mobile phone while driving. Another element of mate ship is shown in the last part of the film. When the final battle of Gallipoli approaches, Archy persuades Major Barton to assign Frank as his runner because Archy knows that Frank does not have as much commitment as he does on the fighting service. Archy gets Frank a safer position and decided to sacrifice his own life for his best mate. (Gammage) Some more ideals that are glorified in the film are bravery and honor. The experiences at Gallipoli gave Australians a new identity which made them distinguishable from any other nation. At the start of the film we see that almost everyone wants to enlist in the war. Although many Australian men enlist totally naive to the dangers awaiting them, once they are in Gallipoli they fight fearlessly, with the attitude that they are doing it for their country. Anyone who is studying Australian history would do well to watch this film. The film is historically accurate which means that students can use it as a direct source of information and evidence. The fact that the film is portrayed as a dramatized story makes the many aspects of Australia and its participation of World War I much easier to understand than a any text book would. • 46. The Fair Tax Is A Proposed Tax Reform The Fair TaxВ® is a proposed tax reform to the current taxation process of the federal government in the United States. Written by John Linder and first introduced to Congress in 1999, the Fair TaxВ® is a proposition for the federal government to get rid of all current taxes (including federal income taxes, estate taxes, payroll taxes, etc.) and taxonly the purchasing of goods and services for personal consumption. Instead of taxes being applied to income, each individual would receive their full paycheck with no federal taxes deducted and instead a 23% sales tax ($0.23 for every $1.00) would be included in the price of an item. This translates to about a 30% sales tax ($0.23 on top of every $0.77) today, because instead of the item being $1.00 it would be sold for $0.77 with a $0.23 tax on top, whereas the price under the Fair TaxВ® would be $1.00 with the tax included in the price. This percentage would be adjusted each year based on the government s revenue in the previous fiscal year. To make up for the large tax on sales, each citizen would receive a prebate or annual consumption allowance check that should negate the sales tax on purchases that are essential for living. The prebate would be given to each individual based on the poverty level. (1) There are several points made opposing the Fair TaxВ®, but in this paper I will mainly be discussing the supporting points and how it would benefit our country s citizens, businesses, economy, and government. Pros And Cons Of Lloding Some Siding Materials You May Want To Consider Before Choosing New Siding For Your Home Choosing new siding for your house is a big decision because you ll have to live with the siding for years to come. The first step is deciding on the siding material you like best. Your siding contractor can also help you choose the best siding for your home s architecture and neighborhood. Here are some possible options. Affordable Siding Options If price is a major consideration, then aluminum or vinyl siding could be good choices. These are popular with homeowners because they are durable and affordable. Choosing between the two is a matter of which look you like best because they both require very little maintenance. Aluminum has the potential to dent when struck with enough force and vinyl has the potential to melt or crack in extreme temperatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All it requires is the right color and a surface texture applied that looks like wood grain. While vinyl and fiber cement siding can mimic wood and provide the benefit of less maintenance, they don t look exactly like wood up close. If you want the classic look of wood siding, you can choose wood boards, logs, or shingles. If you want the look of wood without as much maintenance, then you can choose engineered wood that is made from real wood so it looks natural. However, engineered wood is less expensive, more durable, and needs less maintenance. Stone And Brick Options Stone is another good siding material to consider. Stone and brick are among the most expensive siding materials and the labor costs to install them can be higher too since they require special skills to install. However, brick and stone are very durable and usually require very little maintenance. If you love the look of stone, but can t afford it, you may want a stone veneer applied instead. Culture difference will influence the number of tourists and the acceptance level of customers. Euro Disney followed the brand policies to the English instructions only, no wine providing in the theme park, high price of ticket, and standardized merchandise and food itemsпјЊconsequently wide spread dissatisfaction among the customers. When a new brand enters different cultures, it is inevitable for customers in new market to repel it or spend much time to accept itпјЊso the new brand should be brought closer to local culture by providing a platform to interact with the brand in customer s terms.
