Editor's Notes

  • #2 Thanks to Steve for inviting….. Asked to speak about my experience of Top Talent, Our National Project My learnings
  • #3 Describe the IS team Previous experience – BA background Line Management experience
  • #4 First meeting May 2014 Most IT, some HR and Customer Services
  • #5  Range of experience – some very unsure of themselves, some not so much! Talk about the exercises Robin’s brain! Brainstormed potential projects Social aspect Took away ideas to try Johari window – open person but recognised not good at seeing what other people see in me Team Away day – good timing
  • #6 Met the night before for dinner - No progress on project Mixed feelings – talk about this Group therapy session – turning point – massive trust, open, respect Reflected on things that had happened since How coaching was going…etc Proposed project put forward Brainstormed in the room Came away with initial actions and follow up teleconference plan Renewed enthusiasm
  • #7 Project identified was…. Discussion with parents in the room – identified issues Inconsistencies Lack of info Agreed there was enough there to investigate but not sure where we would get to
  • #8 Used our own networks to identify who we had access to Devised a set of questions for each stakeholder group - Collated results Looked at web Gave a feel for the size of the problem and already identified potential opportunities for improvement We continued on!
  • #9 Problem initially had been communication Trello turned out to be part of the solution- easy to use platform is key Teleconferences to keep up momentum - planned actions and dates spread out the jobs, those with no contacts facilitated or took minutes to keep involved - Some did not, of course - Making time is difficult. Extra meeting in inverness allowed us to really focus and determine what final outputs we could deliver and how we were going to present at SOCITM
  • #10 Real key was that different people led at different times Group comfortable and allowed to happen Very much a we did rather than I did attitude Whole group accountable for delivery and rewarded for contribution This allowed folks to drop in and out as time allowed
  • #11 Development of: single process Functional requirement Data sharing protocols Comms strategy Single development/shared costs
  • #12 Being me good enough! Authentic, true to yourself, not having to try and be someone else Picture of other people far more professional than me!
  • #13 BCC show – speech to 500 people, no nerves! Boss & orher colleagues have noted and stated that they have seen a huge change in my confidence and how I conduct myself at work Even hubby – relay conversation Bigger picture – gave me a better feel for where I want to go next Having the belief that I am capable – speaking out at large events – Digital Scotland Putting forward suggestions for change No move or promotion yet, but have a plan and a purpose.
  • #14 Fantastic experience Get out what you put in Hope you enjoy and best of luck!
