Dear Hiring Manager,
Thank you for considering my application for the office Manager position. My name is Toni Belanger, and I have
worked in the medical field for over 20 years with most of it being an office manager of some sort. I have done both “front
office” and “back office” tasks. At times, I have also functioned as a medical assistant,doing basic casting,stitch removal,
staple removal, shot administration, etc. I take tremendous pride in my work, and I don’t like to leave any details left
unattended. In my most recent position as Medical Office Manager for Craig C. Callewart MD, I was responsible for
supervising,hiring, firing, and training of all employees as well as completing and discussing performance evaluations. I
ordered supplies for the office and food for lunches. I scheduled all surgeries, obtained pre-certification of all testing and
surgery, and was his administrative assistant. I provided and taught excellent customer service and compliance with all
government rules and regulations. I am well-versed in medical terminology and insurances (HMO, PPO, POS, and Medicare
& Medicaid), and I have experience with Centricity, electronic RX, and Microsoft programs. Prior to that position, I have
owned my own business which was a bakery in North Carolina. I brought that experience to my recent position with Dr.
Callewart, and I made his practice more efficient and successfulthrough improvements in workflow, detail-oriented process
changes,and focus on customer satisfaction. Within 6 months,his practice profit increased with simple improvements in
billing/collecting and precertification. His practice actually merged with my husband’s group and due to corporate policy I
could no longer work for him.
My husband &I went on a 3 week medical mission trip to Ethiopia last year. This was one of the most fulfilling
things I have ever done.He has gone every year, this was my first year going. While there, I functioned as his PA, scrub
tech, photographer,physicaltherapist, nurse, pharmacist, and radiology tech. This has further enriched my perspective and
experience in health care. I plan to go again this year in May for charity.
I moved to Texas with my family in 2010 from North Carolina. My husband,Ted, is an orthopedic spine surgeon,
and he was offered a position at the prestigious Texas Back Institute. It has been the best move of our lives. Our daughter
Lauren, 19, is in college at the University of Alabama, and son Dash, 22, married and is stationed at Nellis Air Force base in
Las Vegas. I am so proud of them.
