While in college he organized Disco Dandiya in his own locality first of its kind in south Mumbai. It
was first popular trend that he picked on early and was able to capitalize on it. So as one grows and
starts to learn and understand life, he starts to question as well. At a very early stage, one starts
creating mental models to interpret various observations. At that point if one finds that what he has
learnt on his own is different from what is being practiced in reality. He tries to distinguish the right
from the wrong. He soon starts to seek answer to everything and then life transforms. So attitude of
questioning is very important. Until one questions the establish way of doing things, one won t be able
to come up with something new. Thus he left his family business and started his own journey
entrepreneurial journey..... He kept looking for beachheads to realize his dreams. He tried multiple
things that could be ideal for new India that was emerging. 3. DREAM OF THE LEADER His dream
was to make a place on a simple idea: Rewrite rules, retain values. His fundamental belief created a
new kind of marketplace, forever transforming Indian retail. Today his core values continue to guide

Robin Morgan s Sisterhood
In Sisterhood is Powerful by a collection of women, which is a book of action, to which was
conceived, written, edited, copy edited, proofread, designed, and illustrated by women. These women
wanted to give concrete examples of their oppression, in regards to the book itself, this would not
simply have happened without the workings of different types of women in putting this collection
together. With women becoming more consciousness of the liberation, in cases where women wrote
articles for this book. There being many reprisals : five of personal relationships were severed, two
couples were divorced and one separated, one women was forced to withdraw her article, by the man
whom she was living with. While another s husband kept rewording her piece until it was
unrecognizable by her own writing. Throughout the introduction, Robin Morgan mentions things such
as the political change, where she regards the being and will be shared for other women and how it
should be explained. Though in Morgan s case what she meant is that she first began to work on this
book, as a self radical for woman who regarded to the Women s Liberation Movement as a key part in
the wing of the left. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have the right to decide whether or not we want children. As women we need to stand together and
demand the right to be able to have birth control information readily available and have the option to
free abortions for those who wish to. In the instance this quote best resembles how women should go
about fixing this illegitimacy , Women must now join together to demand equal pay for equal work,
subsidized child care facilities, an end of the absurdification of woman in the mass media, and repeal

The Federal Reserve Transparency Act
When discussing various issues affecting the federal government, transparency issues have to be put
on the front line because the Federal Reserve s should have one of the most transparent systems. The
Federal Reserve transparency act was formulated in order to ensure that there is transparency in the
federal reserves through making the federal government publicize most of the financial institutions
that it offers loans to and the organizations which use the open market operations in order to purchase
bonds. It s more likely to embarrass the central bank in the exposure of the federal transactions and
that can lead to political pressure in the congress. This study is aimed towards exploring the issue of
auditing the federal reserves or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the balance sheets concerning the federal government activities and the financial statements
have to be made clear to the public through auditing. This is because most of these reports are not
detailed in terms of the various transactions with the foreign governments in the US and the central
banks in the US. This forms a major concern in terms of auditing the federal reserves. With the proper
support of auditing the federal reserves, it can make the various reports to be conclusive in terms of
transactions carried out between the federal reserves and the other governments. Most of the working
balances dealing with the foreign currencies and offering contracts are not related to the monetary
policy operations in the FRBNY. In the financial statements, most of these incomes are recognized as
others. Most of the proponents in support of auditing want to know the why, the who and the how
much money was involved in such dealings. Greater details would be able to signify issues of
accountability and not indicating using one number, others in the financial statements.
There is less public knowledge in issues dealing with FOMC meetings and that has been able to affect
the issues of transparency in the monetary issues. Through the meetings, the monetary policies
regarding the global issues are discussed and therefore the public is entitled to now the progress of the
various meetings. This can be done through

Annals Of A Former World Essay
1. Annals of a Former World, by John McPhee
In patient, lyrical prose, McPhee takes the reader on a geologic journey through the United States.
This volume was originally published as 4 books; each is centered on a road trip the author took with a
geologist, observing the earth next to Eisenhower s great US highways for clues into its geologic past.
Annals has this no borders, idealistic, On the Road for geologists kind of feel (though a bit more
grown up.) I pick up Annals every once in a while when im in a relaxed mood, when im looking for a
good example of literary science writing. Highly recommended as a companion for camping trips, if
you can fit it into your pack.
2. Surely You re Joking, Mr, Feynman, by Richard Feynman
A string of excerpts from Feynman s life/career, Surely You re Joking is probably the popular science
book I have read through the most times, not because it is short, but because it is at once compelling,
understated, and full of indispensable scientific concepts. Richard Feynman has an uncanny ability to
make physics easily digestible, his lectures are a testament to that and Surely You re Joking is no
exception. Feynman s easy prose makes the reader feel like physics is understandable, as if he has laid
out a diagram of the universe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Enduring Love is a fiction book, partially written from the perspective of a former scientist, but more
importantly, it is a suspenseful story that lets the author s attitudes towards life bleed through each and
every page. Ian McEwan is a well know rationalist who believes that science is just as much a part of
culture as anything else a position with which I very much empathize. This is a literary tale, sure, but
McEwan manages to mention scientific ideas all over the place, integrating science and its ways of
thinking into the lives of his complex characters and slowly revealing situations. It s a

Analysis Of Everett Feruson s Church History Essay
Everett Feruson in Church History does a spendid work in coursing through church history until the
13th century. Ferguson s writing keeps the reader captivated, being witty at times, but overall being
very helpful, for example in defining the term simplex of Charles the Simple to mean without guile.
This is notable for he covers a wide swath of history with a life differing from ours while including a
review of culture, architecture and politics. His descriptions vividly portrait the faithfulness and the
struggles of the church. This strife was also within the church as striving in doctrine occurred, two
important areas were the fight against docetiscism and addressing sins occurring after baptism. We
appreciate the value of the installed leaders such as Ignatius and Irenaeus, to whom apostolic
succession meant a holy life with sound doctrine. Whether these or other church fathers of whom
some fragments of writings are extent we are thankful for (Kirby, 2016) such as Polycarp and Papias.
Papias has the credit of association with Polycarp, in the friendship of St. John himself, and of others
who had seen the Lord. He is said to have been bishop of Hierapolis, in Phrygia, and to have died
about the same time that Polycarp suffered; but even this is questioned. So little do we know of one
whose lost books, could they be recovered, might reverse the received judgment, and establish his
claim to the disputed tribute which makes him, like Apollos, an eloquent man, and

Health Spending Account
Any time that an avenue can be explored which benefits both sides of the aisle, it should be covered
completely, discussed, and questioned. One of those things is a Health Spending Account. This fringe
benefit offering can help everyone! Here are some quick facts to spark your interest: FUNDS ARE

the employer, who pays payroll taxes as well. This could be as much as a ten percent savings. OFTEN

The HAS is independent of the insurance plan, so it goes with the employee. If next year finds a better
plan with a savings for the parties involved, then pack up and move to that money saver, and be sure
to pack that HSA. If the whole purpose of using the HDHP is savings, then this is another incentive to
keep looking for better plans. INTEREST CREATED THROUGH THE INVESTMENTS OF THE
FUND ARE TAX FREE, ALSO. While your money sits, waiting to be used, it is invested, and any
interest is untaxed. This is another incentive for the employees to deposit monies into the funds.
HEALTH SPENDING ACCOUNTS ARE A GREAT PART OF A FRINGE PACKAGE WHICH

most qualified applicants and retain those already working. More people leave jobs based on fringes
than on salary. Addressing this with a great benefit package will help all involved. SPENDING
ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO INCREASE EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT IN THEIR

Gender Barriers For Men And Women
Today what a person says is closely looked at, and the way they look at the issues have different
standards for men and woman. Language can be a wide range of things from body language, tones and
word choices. Talking is a necessary part of life, one that no one can get away from it. Women can
never do something as well as a man can in some peoples mind. They take that thought of superiority
to bring women down. It can have harmful effects on women to where they go to change what they
believe is wrong with them. In Just don t do it the author says that girls have certain words they
constantly use (Cameron). The Times article states that the gender gap really is lessening with
linguistics and certain words are used by both genders. Language skills are a fundamental skill that
everyone should possess, and when people use those skills there could be a bias when judging their
skills between men and women.
Talking is an essential part of life everywhere in the world no matter where they are. Women they get
judged harshly on the way they talk and are prone to becoming generalized with the way they talk.
Women have been said to over apologize, though there is no evidence for that, some think that
because women supposedly apologize more that they are weaker because of it (Cameron). It makes
some think that certain things do not matter if a girl apologizes for it, because it is almost natural for
them to do so. In Stop Saying I Feel Like article though,

during one of the most exclusive communities in the American history. Dorothy Draper was the first to
professionalize the interior design and in 1923 established the first interior design company in the
united states. During this time, it was unheard of, and also at this time it was considered daring for
woman to go in the business. Carleton Varney wrote in his biography of his mentor. The Draper touch,

Taking English 1302 With Texas Tech University Essay
Taking English 1302 with Texas Tech University has been a highly rewarding experience. This class
focuses on literature reviews and researched arguments, but when I signed up for this class I did not
know the difference between the two. Now I know that literature reviews use sources to inform the
reader about current studies on a topic, while researched arguments use sources to support the author s
claim and persuade the reader. During this class I have learned how to write a literature review/
researched argument as well as many mechanics related to general writing. In English 1302, I was
instructed on how to write a literature review and a researched argument. While I found literature
reviews to be easier than researched arguments, I still learned how to synthesize sources and their
respective information. I realized that I did not need to put in much of my own commentary compared
to an argumentative paper. Initially, I could not see how subtopics and themes could connect several
pieces of writing just as much as the subject of the paper could. I also used to focus on the authors of
sources rather than the connected information written by the authors, but now I focus on the latter.
Taking this course made me realize that I had never used common ground while writing an argument,
but it is very critical for persuasion. For example, in my researched argument I wrote: ... you, as a
consumer, have been affected by robotics in more ways than you know; robots aid humans in many

Arthritis Experiments
Background/Introduction:
Arthritis patients has inflammation in their joints where chronic pain is a common symptom. Although
the mechanism linking pain with arthritis is unknown, it is suggested that the extension of autonomic
sympathetic fibers into the upper dermal layer of the skin may explain the sensation of chronic pain
that arthritis patients experience. Hence, the goal of Longo et al. s experiment was to investigate the
changes of innervations in the skin directly above the inflamed joints and how this change correlates
with the perception of pain. Additionally, the effects of guanethidine on pain, as well as, the changes
in protein levels of pro NGF (nerve growth factor) and mature NGF are also explored.
Materials and Methods:
To test their hypothesis, an experiment was conducted on male ... Show more content on

There was an significant increase of innervations of synovial membrane of joints with CFA induced
arthritis by sympathetic and peptidergic fibers, and these fibers were wrapping around each other.
Sympathetic fibers were found in close proximity with the peptidergic fibers in the upper dermis of
the paws with induced arthritis, and these fibers were present at levels 3 times the level found in rats
with mineral oil injections. Although the levels of pro NGF remained constant when comparing the
tissues of both the control and CFA treated rat s paws, there was a change in amount of mature NGF.
There was a significant increase in levels of mature NGF found in the tissues of the paws with CFA
induced arthritis. Finally, behavioral tests conducted in rats 4 weeks post CFA treatment showed that
rats with guanethidine injections had increased pain

Dbq Missouri Compromise
At first, the Compromise seemed to settle the issue; however, the alarming issue arose again when
Mexico ceded new territory to the Union. Differences between the views of the North and South led to
a deeper divide that eventually led to the Civil War. The Missouri controversy, an extremely heated
crisis between the North and South over slavery in the Louisiana territory, reached to new heights
almost as great as the time of secession in 1860. This huge debate showed just how slavery divided the
nation (Forbes). Many people knew the consequences of banning slavery, so they kept the Missouri
Compromise in place. Politicians dealt with the troubling issue carefully because it potentially could
separate the Union, and everyone knew the South would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tensions about what congress would do about slavery in the new territories increased rapidly. Lincoln,
during his presidency, explains the difference between anti and pro slavery people. He explains that
the selfish nature of man allows him to go towards slavery, but man s nature to be just and right allows
him to oppose slavery (Lincoln). Wilmot tried to pass a law called the Wilmot proviso, a law
forbidding slavery in the new territories ceded by Mexico. A wild debate over this law ensued between
the North and South (Remini). One congressman said that the House sounded like a bomb went off
because of all of the excitement in the room at the same time (Remini). Aggravated politicians got him
out of the House of Representatives for his radical law. Problems increased when California and New
Mexico wanted to enter the union, but California chose to enter the Union alone due to its increased
population. Henry Clay decided to step in and work his magic. Then he created the Compromise of
1850, which allowed the state to choose whether they will enter as a slave or free state, an idea known
as popular sovereignty (Remini). California entered as a free state, but the other territories from the
Mexican cession were allowed to choose. This new Compromise worked for the Mexican cession
territory, but the Louisiana territory still remained under the control of the Missouri Compromise.
After the repeal of the Missouri Compromise, violence between the North and the South ensued. In
1854, Congress passed the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854, which repealed the Missouri Compromise
(McGill). This Act established popular sovereignty for all of the territories that want to achieve
statehood. Nebraska would enter as a free state. Kansas still wavered back and forth, on whether it
should enter as a slave or free state. Settlers from both the North and South came to live in Kansas.

Essay About Music
The hole in the wall was teeming with teenagers and young adults, drenched in rain, and crowded
outside of Brooklyn s sealed off Baby s All Right . It was a rainy Saturday night and as soon as I
arrived at the address I knew I was at the right place. Baby s All Right is Williamsburg s venue for
underground and indie music, which also serves as a bar and restaurant; its stage and floor are situated
at the back. I joined the crowd and waited patiently in the downpour and just as the rain started to pour

group, he would play video games and talk about superheroes and wrestlers. With his popular group,
he frequented parties and concerts. He describes himself as caught in the middle of two worlds . But,
the constant between these two worlds was his interest in punk rock, especially Green Day. His love of
bands such as Green Day and The Ramones, along with his parents musical influence, motivated his
decision to learn how to play the guitar. This launched his interest of becoming a musician.
Oliver enjoyed the guitar, but he also took a liking to the way hip hop beats sounded. Because of this

being a guitarist, as he felt that his band mates weren t inspired to achieve anything greater than
making music solely as a hobby. Therefore, he decided to make a new Soundcloud where he would

Steam Engines in the Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution took place in the late 1700s and early 1800s. This event caused a plethora of
new inventions and a chain of events that led to betterment of the lives of people in this time. The
invention of the steam engine made the connection of areas easier, leading to a transportation
revolution, increased accessibility, cultural blending, and the spread of disease. began to use the steam
engine for power. Although no official accounts of the harnessing the power of steam existed until the
1600s, a man named Hero living in Alexandria, Egypt attempted to create a steam powered engine in
60 A.D (Hartman). Much later, Thomas Savery, in 1698, invented a hand powered pump utilizing the
vacuum created by condensing steam. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since more people were traveling, and more things were traveling, people wanted to be where the
goods went. People would start living along the railroads, the crossroads of railroads, and living near
the sea to buy and sell the newly transported goods, creating port cities in places of trade such as
Boston or New York. This led to the urbanization of England and Germany (Curth). A revolution is
defined as a dramatic change in how something is done or a change in people s ideas ( Revolution ).
These advances can be considered a revolution because so much change is happening, and the lives of
the people are improving. Revolutions are event in history for a positive cause, as the revolution in
transportation was for a positive cause. So many people were now realizing that transportation was
important and can be improved upon ad infinitum. Since the steam engine made travel easier, goods
and foods were able to be transported faster, causing an increased accessibility. A small problem in the
international use of steam engines was the dissimilarity in parts used. Certain parts of the engines
varied between companies, so only some trains could use the tracks (Ross). With all of the hype over
transportation, roads were starting to be built, making the accessibility of goods even easier. Raw
materials as well as manufactured goods were able to be traded at a faster rate, and making easier to
distribute these goods to the people easier.

Retail industry in India is at the crossroads. It has emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast paced
industries with several players entering the market. But because of the heavy initial investments
required, break even is difficult to achieve and many of these players have not tasted success so far.
However, the future is promising; the market is growing, government policies are becoming more
favorable and emerging technologies are facilitating operations. Retailing in India is gradually inching
its way towards becoming the next boom industry.
The whole concept of shopping has altered in terms of format and consumer buying behavior,
ushering in a revolution in shopping in India. Modern retail has entered India as seen in sprawling
shopping centers, multi storied malls and huge complexes offer shopping, entertainment and food all

Measuring 63.5 cm (25 in.) in length, the Toco toucan is the largest of all toucans. Its black body and
white throat are overshadowed by its most recognizable trait: a large colorful beak. The bright orange
beak is about 19 cm (8 in.) long one third of the bird s total length. But despite its substantial size, the
beak weighs less than you may think. Toco toucans also use their beaks to pluck and peel fruit, their
main source of food. In addition, the beak houses a flat tongue of the same length, which helps the
toucan catch insects, frogs, and reptiles. Toco toucans also occasionally eat the eggs of other birds.
Although they spend a lot of time in trees, they are not very good at flying. Toucans mainly travel

The Importance Of Print Media Advertising
Today, the increase in the popularity of social networking has changed advertisements on the internet.
We are seeing new forms of advertising taking place in the form of apps for phones which are
connected to online websites. With advertising seemingly expanding every day businesses wonder, is
print media advertising still effective?
The facts seem to point toward print media advertising still being very effective depending on the
company s goal. According to Ian Linton from Chron.com and Manohar (2013), Print media
advertising is a form of advertising that uses physically printed media, such as magazines and
newspapers, to reach consumers, business customers and prospects.
With its many forms it is no wonder why print media is still used by many companies, although it has
seen a significant decrease. In fact, nowadays it would seem that newspapers and other forms of print
media would not be the way to advertise for your company, but a key idea is missing. According to an
article found on contentmanagementsoftwares.net, there are over 1,600 different national newspapers
in circulation every day plus all of the local newspapers. This is a downside because there is a huge
velocity of advertisements, but it is still a cheap and effective way to reach the consumer.
Rebecca Harnden, CEO of Humboldt Light Dep, LLC, offers this tip to get new small businesses in
front of pre qualified leads cheaper than regular print runs.
Contact your local newspaper and ask if they have any upcoming special event features. Newspapers
run special inserts during the weeks of special events. The cost for printing in one of these special
inserts or handouts is usually much less expensive than running an ad in the regular newspaper, since
less people will see it. However, the people who do see it will be interested in your product or service.
She offers this example, if you are a wedding planner, run an ad in a seasonal industry specific
newspaper insert or in a newspaper produced program distributed at a bridal fair. You know the people

Edwin Hubble Research Paper
As you look into the night sky, what do you see? Little bright dots that you can barely see? Edwin
Hubble invented the Hubble Space Telescope that helped scientists around the world observe space. In
this Essay, I will be covering who Edwin Hubble is, what exactly his revolutionary telescope is, his
key discovers, and also the implications of his discoveries.
Edwin Hubble was an American Astronomer and Scientist that lived from 1889 1953. As a kid he
began reading science fiction novels and fell in love. In 1906, Hubble attended the University of
Chicago where he studied law philosophy. He graduated three years later with a bachelor s degree in
jurisprudence. Not long after he decided to attend the University of Chicago once again and study
Astronomy. He graduated from the University of Chicago and immediately served in WWI before
pursuing the field of astrophysics. Then, California s Mount Wilson Observatory recruited him to help

In 1920, Hubble noticed a pulsating star with a Cepheid variable inside each one. He then calculated
how far away each Cepheid laid as well as how far to each nebula and discovered they were too
distant to be inside the Milky Way. Due to this, he realized that there indeed was galaxies outside of
the Milky Way. Lastly, Hubble discovered the Big Bang Theory. He studied ancient light and
concluded about 13.7 billion years ago nothing existed. All matter and energy in the universe was
compressed into an extremely small volume. 13 years ago it exploded and expanded in all directions.
The support to back this up is light from other galaxies and how the spectral lines almost shifted
towards the red end of the spectrum as red shift galaxies are moving away, making Earth expand.
Hubble s key discoveries have helped many scientists conclude exactly how our universe started out

Jump racing is another form that mostly caters to Thoroughbred horses, and is considerably more
hazardous that flat racing due to the company of obstacles that horses has to leap over. These obstacles
mostly include hurdles, fences, or ditches. The increased risks have led to it being banned in some
countries like Australia. It is still a popular form of race in Europe and the US, where it is recognized

In the UK and Ireland, it s known as National Hunt racing and there are two codes hurdles and

Traditional chinesse medicine Essay
TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Traditional Chinese medicine has a history of thousands of years. Its use spread throughout the Han
society, with different treatment systems developed for the noble, peasant, worker and merchant

My Ethical Qualms With The Toilet
Initial interest and topic expansion
This paper started as a way to talk about my ethical qualms with the toilet and see if there was a
scientific basis to back them up. More than a history or philosophy of how the modern toilet came to
be, I wanted to see if there is scientific evidence to back up my idea of toilets and the modern sewage
treatment systems as wasteful. In order to understand the wastefulness, or efficiency, of the toilet
however, I had to answer the question, what happens when we flush? This may not be the most
interesting or sexiest information about waste, but it is an important look into a part of the waste
stream we contribute to daily, in fact, according to the American Water Works Association, an average

Modern sewage formed in response to the 1858 Great Stink of London. The Great Stink was a product
of many factors. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber pots increased
water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for excess rainwater
collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating the city before its
ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage along with its
tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial growth, a rancid
odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London build thousands of miles of
underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [2].
Two categories of sewage treatment
Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [3].
Storm sewers
Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and parking
lots, get less treatment or sometimes none at all. Sometimes it may be processed to remove stuff like
car oil [3].
Sanitary sewers
Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of dealing
with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three stage sewage
treatment system. In this essay I will look at this three step method system as well

It Aint Easy Being Bisexual On TV By Amy Zimmerman
A Rhetorical Analysis of It Ain t Easy Being Bisexual on TV The representation of the LGBT
community in the film industry has long been a topic of much debate. In her article, It Ain t Easy
Being Bisexual on TV, Amy Zimmerman addresses this topic with specific interest on bisexual
representation. By appealing to the logic of her audience, using an informal tone, and referring to
relatable content, Zimmerman constructs an argument which persuades readers of The Daily Beast
that the film industry is unfairly and inaccurately representing bisexuals. However, her argument holds
little influence over those who are not movie fans or The Daily Beast readers. Zimmerman begins

To support this opinion, Zimmerman immediately clarifies why she believes this, stating that Martell
is presented by Game of Thrones as someone with an insatiable appetite (Zimmerman 565) instead of
a dissimilar sexuality. This has the result of devaluing his bisexuality and reframing it as masculine
libertine (Zimmerman 565). Unfortunately, statistics and logic are rarely enough to persuade an
audience about a topic, especially if that topic is emotional. Zimmerman handles this by using
rhetorical examples which appeal to the audience s emotions to her advantage. Specifically, she
includes characters, titles, and quotes from movies. This works because many members of
Zimmerman s audience are movie enthusiasts, which is reasonable to conclude since The Daily Beast
delivers award winning original reporting and sharp opinion in the arena of . . . pop culture ( About Us
). For instance, consider the statement that, when even a show like Glee . . . makes fun of the myth of
bisexuality, it s clear that bisexual representation . . . is still stuck in the dark ages (Zimmerman 565).
By using Glee as an example in this quote, Zimmerman creates a feeling of relatability with the Glee
fan base while also showing them how a movie they love is unfairly representing bisexuals. This
feeling of relatability makes the audience more receptive to Zimmerman s argument. In addition to
using rhetorical examples, Zimmerman also utilizes an informal tone to make herself more

Energy efficiency is key to the success of the program, because the system provides safe economic

Theme Of Death In King Lear
Of the deaths in Shakespeare s King Lear, the death of Cordelia and King Lear at the end of Act V are
most significant in revealing the development of Lear and how his development contributes to the
theme surrounding it. The dynamic King Lear is a tragic hero whose fatal flaw, arrogance, prompts his
removal from power and eventually the death of both himself and Cordelia. However, by the time of
King Lear s death, his arrogance has been replaced with a compassion which allows him to mourn the
death of Cordelia and die from his own grief. Besides redeeming himself for his flawed judgement,
the compassionate King Lear of Act V recognizes the loyalty in characters like Kent and Cordelia,
while also seeing through the dishonesty of Regan and Goneril which fools the King Lear of Act I.
King Lear s transition from disowning Cordelia because of his arrogance to recognizing her as his
only faithful daughter is demonstrated through Lear s death, which serves as the culmination of his
development and a reversal of his character. Furthermore, his death elaborates the theme of how
someone s arrogance may blind them from the reality of others intentions, which can be seen through
a more compassionate and humble lens. In King Lear, Lear s conflict of power with his daughters is
brought about by his own arrogance, which flaws his judgement and propels his change of heart.
When Lear parcels out his kingdom to his daughters, he finds the honesty of Cordelia s praise to be
ungrateful and

threat; prior to purchasing a gun, rather than on their proper paperwork and qualifications. During this
process criminals are still obtaining weapons illegally and using them. The laws which prevent
personal protection with a gun most be changed in order to control and deter the increasing threat from

Stability In Brave New World
The novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley under takes the cost of stability, and explores what is
sacrificed for utopia. London is one of the many utopian societies in the Brave New World, built on
the values of Community, Identity, and Stability. In a contradictory fashion the outlier, Identity, is
sacrificed for stability. Society and class structure, are devoid of identity and community, a stable
system built for the superficial pleasures of life and control at the cost of freedom. This debate of cost
vs benefits is the philosophical battle the characters endure in the Brave New World. Through the
revelations and experiences the characters face, stability and cost of it are not worth the results.
The brave new world s primary objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Science provides truth, sometimes uncomfortable truths; science is outlawed because of the truth
seeking ideology, not the science that enables the world controllers build their utopia. We don t want
to change. Every change is a menace to stability. That s another reason why we re so chary of applying
new inventions. Every discovery in pure science is potentially subversive; even science must
sometimes be treated as a possible enemy. Yes, even science. (154). Science threatens the utopian
society; it can provide views and facts that contradict the world state. A society that outlaws science
can never grow and will fail to progress, the reason for stability is for effective progress but it is no
longer possible through the world controllers means and methods. Religion provides morals and
ethics, consolation, and purpose, religion provides an ideology that suggests something even greater
than the society. Religion was a method to deal with the anxiety of death and purpose, in the brave
new world religion was dealt with through soma. In the past you could only accomplish these things
by making a great effort and after years of hard moral training. Now, you swallow two or three half
gramme tablets, and there you are. Anybody can be virtuous now. You can carry at least half your

Final Research Paper
From the election of a new middle class government and the declaration of the Second Spanish
Republic in 1931 until the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, Spanish society struggled to
establish a stable, representative democracy for only the second time in its long political history. With
the spread of industrialization, the rise of a new working class, and the emergence of a new era of
political movements, ideals, and philosophical ideologies or isms throughout Europe and the United
States communism, socialism, marxism, anarchism, fascism, etc., Spanish society grappled to find
common ground between more traditional and conservative political groups the Catholic church, the ...

The war also embroiled many other European and world nations and pitted supporters and opponents
of democracy, fascism, communism, and anarchy against each other in what many critics have labeled
a prelude to World War II. The Spanish Civil War, choking the unity of the United States, exacerbated
already present political and public rifts of the nation, bringing into question the claimed neutrality of
America throughout the three year war. Although the Spanish Republican government had been
democratically elected and the Nationalist side was allied with and receiving support from Mussolini s
Italy and Hitler s Germany, who guaranteed a Franco victory along as a result of their support rather
than supporting the Republic, the American government approved an official Act of Neutralityi. US
diplomatic officials in Spain were even told to refrain from any interference with the unfortunate
Spanish situation.ii The United States viewed their role in the conflict as one of keeping Democratic
European nations from embarrassing themselves in the attempt to localize the Spanish Civil War. iii
Although Germany and Italy officially agreed to this stance of non intervention, German aircraft was
used to bomb the innocent Republican town of Guernica, murdering 800 townsfolk, mostly women
and children, while the majority of the town s men were away working in the fields.iv The city, too

Traditional Japanese landscapes can be divided into 3 types: Tsukiyama Gardens (hill type garden)
Karesansui Gardens (dry garden) and Chaniwa Gardens (tea garden).
Tsukiyama Gardens: ponds, hills, rocks, trees, flowers, bridges and paths are used to create a
miniature reproduction of a natural landscape that is often famous in China or Japan. The name
Tsukiyama refers to the creation of artificial hills.
Karesansui Gardens illustrate natural landscapes in a more abstract way, using stones, sand and some
paths bags for the most representative mountains, islands, rivers and seas. The gardens are strongly
influenced by Zen Buddhism and used for meditation.
Sakura and the Cherry Blossom Festival
Sakura (cherry blossom) is Japan s unofficial national flower. It is celebrated for centuries and has a
well defined place in Japanese culture. There are many varieties of cherry trees in Japan, most
blooming only for a few days in the spring. The Japanese celebrate that time of the year with Hanami
(admire the cherry blossoms) giving parties under the blooming trees. There are several types of

Analysis Of Nruda s The Egoist By Pablo Neruda
Philosophers as ancient as Plato and Socrates have pondered the soul for millennia. After all, every
person appears to have an unchanging self. Why else would languages universally utilize the
pronouns, I and, you? However, other theorists such as David Hume and Buddha, pondering what one
can truly classify as their persona, have opined the self an illusion; though humans naturally
experience it, the soul does not actually exist. Pablo Neruda espouses a similar view in his poem, The
Egoist, written in 1973 as a part of Neruda s posthumous collection Winter Garden. Throughout the
work, Neruda contrasts the concept of personal identity with the natural world, deeming abandoning
one s individuality a necessary step to obtaining lasting satisfaction with existence. Neruda conveys
his idea as a physician would a diagnosis: first identifying the problem s nature, then outlining its
effects and solution.
Truth cannot contradict itself; thus, to recognize a fictitious entity, one must first analyze the
apparently existent. Accordingly, The Egoist s first stanzas portray the individual ego as mythical and
ghostlike by discriminating it from the natural world. Instantaneously, Neruda boldly asserts, Nobody
is missing from the garden. Nobody is here: / only the green and black winter (Neruda, 1 2). Repeating
nobody is intimates the flowers lack of self. Likewise, Neruda connoting green and black in the
subsequent line signifies nature s holism. Green, reflecting

Subject: Scope Marketing Strategy
Date: 1/5/1991
The current strategic efforts for the Scope brand are successful, but a competitive threat has brought
about concerns as to whether Scope can continue to be profitable in the marketplace. An emerging
segment of prebrush rinse users has created questions as to whether the Scope brand should consider
this segment as a viable target. The Scope brand has consistently focused its efforts on the benefits of
great taste and fresh breath, while the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this appears somewhat insignificant in comparison because Scope (32%) still holds twice as
much market share as Listerine (16%) and over three times as much market share as Plax (10%).
Listermint s share decreased as well as Cepacol, Colgate oral rinse, and other miscellaneous brands.
The mouthwash market can be segmented into three groups, based on the frequency of use:
1. heavy users: use the product once per day or more and constitute 40% of the market; heavy users
most likely want the basic features of a mouthwash that allow for their basic oral hygiene; their
knowledge of the product is not necessarily extensive, but since they use the product so frequently
they want the most benefit for the amount that they are spending on the product and price is probably
an important consideration in their purchasing decision.
2. medium users: use the product 2 6 times a week and represent 45% of the market; similar to the
heavy users, the medium users use the product consistently and are seeking the basic benefits of a
mouthwash as a part of their hygiene habits; they are concerned with the price of the product since
they buy it relatively frequently, and will most likely purchase a product that provides the most value
for their money.
3. light users: use the product less than 1 time a week and make up only 15% of the market; these
users make up a comparatively small segment of the market and do not buy or use the product as
frequently as the other segments;

Main Themes Of Dissatisfaction In The Mayor Of Casterbridge
The Mayor of Casterbridge has two main themes. One theme is dissatisfaction, which is a main reason
when the characters end relationships with each other. The other theme is the indelibility of the past.
Some characters had long term effects when their past was learned by other characters. People were
not forgiven for their past as easy in the early nineteenth as they are today. The author used these
themes very well, for people to assert into their life.
Dissatisfaction is very major in The Mayor of Casterbridge because many relationships are broken and
mended in the book. Those characters are dissatisfied with their current state of being, so they move
on to a different stage in their life, which can lead to other relationships being repaired. The author is
teaching the readers to move on, if something in their life is dissatisfying them.
One example of a character being dissatisfied is when Newson fakes his death because he knows
Susan is not satisfied and wants to go back to Michael Henchard. Susan found out that she didn t have
to stay with Newson, so she wanted to go back to Henchard. Susan became unpleasant to be around,
and Newson knew she wanted to go back to Henchard. On page 288, in The Mayor of Casterbridge,
Newson says Since I m here, here I ll bide, I thought to myself; twill be most kindness to her, now she
s taken against me, to let her believe me lost; for, I thought while she supposes us both alive she ll be
miserable; but if she thinks me dead she ll go back to him, and the child will have a home. Newson
faked his death to satisfy Susan and bring happiness in her life.
When Lucetta met Farfrae, she became dissatisfied with Henchard. To Lucetta, Farfrae was a younger
and better version of Henchard. Lucetta was going to marry Henchard, but she knew that she should
would not be happy with him. Lucetta also found out about Henchard s past, and she was dissatisfied
with the way he treated his first wife. On page 209, Lucetta says I learnt of the rumor that you had ⎯
sold your first wife at a fair, like a horse or cow. How could I keep my promise after hearing that?
Lucetta knew she was not going to be satisfied with Henchard if she married him, so she moved on
with her life.

The details that Sandra Cisneros chooses to include in The House on Mango Street are both effective
and appropriate. Most of the details revolve around interactions Esperanza has with the other
characters, her neighbors, and demonstrate who Esperanza is, and how she changes. Each interaction
teaches Esperanza a new lesson that she can and will use later on in her life, and the lessons the young
girl learns are also important for readers, especially other young girls, as they are applicable to
everyday life. All of the details are very appropriate to the setting and plot of the story because
Esperanza can use each lesson she learns, so they are not pointless. The details Cisneros includes are
all important in many ways, and are very effective in communicating lessons and themes to readers. ...

The Federal Reserve transparency act was formulated in order to ensure that there is transparency in the federal reserves through making the federal government publicize most of the financial institutions that it offers loans to and the organizations which use the open market operations in order to purchase bonds. It s more likely to embarrass the central bank in the exposure of the federal transactions and that can lead to political pressure in the congress. Most of the balance sheets concerning the federal government activities and the financial statements have to be made clear to the public through auditing. This is because most of these reports are not detailed in terms of the various transactions with the foreign governments in the US and the central banks in the US. This forms a major concern in terms of auditing the federal reserves. With the proper support of auditing the federal reserves, it can make the various reports to be conclusive in terms of transactions carried out between the federal reserves and the other governments. Most of the working balances dealing with the foreign currencies and offering contracts are not related to the monetary policy operations in the FRBNY. In the financial statements, most of these incomes are recognized as others. Most of the proponents in support of auditing want to know the why, the who and the how much money was involved in such dealings. Greater details would be able to signify issues of accountability and not indicating using one number, others in the financial statements. There is less public knowledge in issues dealing with FOMC meetings and that has been able to affect the issues of transparency in the monetary issues. • 6. Annals Of A Former World Essay 1. Annals of a Former World, by John McPhee In patient, lyrical prose, McPhee takes the reader on a geologic journey through the United States. This volume was originally published as 4 books; each is centered on a road trip the author took with a geologist, observing the earth next to Eisenhower s great US highways for clues into its geologic past. Annals has this no borders, idealistic, On the Road for geologists kind of feel (though a bit more grown up.) Ferguson s writing keeps the reader captivated, being witty at times, but overall being very helpful, for example in defining the term simplex of Charles the Simple to mean without guile. This is notable for he covers a wide swath of history with a life differing from ours while including a review of culture, architecture and politics. His descriptions vividly portrait the faithfulness and the struggles of the church. This strife was also within the church as striving in doctrine occurred, two important areas were the fight against docetiscism and addressing sins occurring after baptism. We appreciate the value of the installed leaders such as Ignatius and Irenaeus, to whom apostolic succession meant a holy life with sound doctrine. Whether these or other church fathers of whom some fragments of writings are extent we are thankful for (Kirby, 2016) such as Polycarp and Papias. Papias has the credit of association with Polycarp, in the friendship of St. John himself, and of others who had seen the Lord. He is said to have been bishop of Hierapolis, in Phrygia, and to have died about the same time that Polycarp suffered; but even this is questioned. Language can be a wide range of things from body language, tones and word choices. Talking is a necessary part of life, one that no one can get away from it. Women can never do something as well as a man can in some peoples mind. They take that thought of superiority to bring women down. It can have harmful effects on women to where they go to change what they believe is wrong with them. In Just don t do it the author says that girls have certain words they constantly use (Cameron). This class focuses on literature reviews and researched arguments, but when I signed up for this class I did not know the difference between the two. Now I know that literature reviews use sources to inform the reader about current studies on a topic, while researched arguments use sources to support the author s claim and persuade the reader. During this class I have learned how to write a literature review/ researched argument as well as many mechanics related to general writing. In English 1302, I was instructed on how to write a literature review and a researched argument. While I found literature reviews to be easier than researched arguments, I still learned how to synthesize sources and their respective information. I realized that I did not need to put in much of my own commentary compared to an argumentative paper. Initially, I could not see how subtopics and themes could connect several pieces of writing just as much as the subject of the paper could. I also used to focus on the authors of sources rather than the connected information written by the authors, but now I focus on the latter. Taking this course made me realize that I had never used common ground while writing an argument, but it is very critical for persuasion. He explains that the selfish nature of man allows him to go towards slavery, but man s nature to be just and right allows him to oppose slavery (Lincoln). Wilmot tried to pass a law called the Wilmot proviso, a law forbidding slavery in the new territories ceded by Mexico. A wild debate over this law ensued between the North and South (Remini). One congressman said that the House sounded like a bomb went off because of all of the excitement in the room at the same time (Remini). Aggravated politicians got him out of the House of Representatives for his radical law. Problems increased when California and New Mexico wanted to enter the union, but California chose to enter the Union alone due to its increased population. Henry Clay decided to step in and work his magic. Then he created the Compromise of 1850, which allowed the state to choose whether they will enter as a slave or free state, an idea known as popular sovereignty (Remini). After the repeal of the Missouri Compromise, violence between the North and the South ensued. With advertising seemingly expanding every day businesses wonder, is print media advertising still effective? The facts seem to point toward print media advertising still being very effective depending on the company s goal. According to Ian Linton from Chron.com and Manohar (2013), Print media advertising is a form of advertising that uses physically printed media, such as magazines and newspapers, to reach consumers, business customers and prospects. With its many forms it is no wonder why print media is still used by many companies, although it has seen a significant decrease. In fact, nowadays it would seem that newspapers and other forms of print media would not be the way to advertise for your company, but a key idea is missing. According to an article found on contentmanagementsoftwares.net, there are over 1,600 different national newspapers in circulation every day plus all of the local newspapers. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber pots increased water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for excess rainwater collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating the city before its ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage along with its tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial growth, a rancid odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London build thousands of miles of underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [2]. Two categories of sewage treatment Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [3]. Storm sewers Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and parking lots, get less treatment or sometimes none at all. Sometimes it may be processed to remove stuff like car oil [3]. Sanitary sewers Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of dealing with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three stage sewage treatment system. It Aint Easy Being Bisexual On TV By Amy Zimmerman A Rhetorical Analysis of It Ain t Easy Being Bisexual on TV The representation of the LGBT community in the film industry has long been a topic of much debate. In her article, It Ain t Easy Being Bisexual on TV, Amy Zimmerman addresses this topic with specific interest on bisexual representation. By appealing to the logic of her audience, using an informal tone, and referring to relatable content, Zimmerman constructs an argument which persuades readers of The Daily Beast that the film industry is unfairly and inaccurately representing bisexuals. However, her argument holds little influence over those who are not movie fans or The Daily Beast readers. Zimmerman begins developing her persuasive argument at the beginning of her article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To support this opinion, Zimmerman immediately clarifies why she believes this, stating that Martell is presented by Game of Thrones as someone with an insatiable appetite (Zimmerman 565) instead of a dissimilar sexuality. This has the result of devaluing his bisexuality and reframing it as masculine libertine (Zimmerman 565). Unfortunately, statistics and logic are rarely enough to persuade an audience about a topic, especially if that topic is emotional. Zimmerman handles this by using rhetorical examples which appeal to the audience s emotions to her advantage. Specifically, she includes characters, titles, and quotes from movies. This works because many members of Zimmerman s audience are movie enthusiasts, which is reasonable to conclude since The Daily Beast delivers award winning original reporting and sharp opinion in the arena of . . . pop culture ( About Us ). For instance, consider the statement that, when even a show like Glee . . . makes fun of the myth of bisexuality, it s clear that bisexual representation . . . is still stuck in the dark ages (Zimmerman 565). By using Glee as an example in this quote, Zimmerman creates a feeling of relatability with the Glee fan base while also showing them how a movie they love is unfairly representing bisexuals. This feeling of relatability makes the audience more receptive to Zimmerman s argument. In addition to using rhetorical examples, Zimmerman also utilizes an informal tone to make herself more ... Theme Of Death In King Lear Of the deaths in Shakespeare s King Lear, the death of Cordelia and King Lear at the end of Act V are most significant in revealing the development of Lear and how his development contributes to the theme surrounding it. The dynamic King Lear is a tragic hero whose fatal flaw, arrogance, prompts his removal from power and eventually the death of both himself and Cordelia. However, by the time of King Lear s death, his arrogance has been replaced with a compassion which allows him to mourn the death of Cordelia and die from his own grief. King Lear s transition from disowning Cordelia because of his arrogance to recognizing her as his only faithful daughter is demonstrated through Lear s death, which serves as the culmination of his development and a reversal of his character. Furthermore, his death elaborates the theme of how someone s arrogance may blind them from the reality of others intentions, which can be seen through a more compassionate and humble lens. • 46. Analysis Of Nruda s The Egoist By Pablo Neruda Philosophers as ancient as Plato and Socrates have pondered the soul for millennia. After all, every person appears to have an unchanging self. Why else would languages universally utilize the pronouns, I and, you? However, other theorists such as David Hume and Buddha, pondering what one can truly classify as their persona, have opined the self an illusion; though humans naturally experience it, the soul does not actually exist. Pablo Neruda espouses a similar view in his poem, The Egoist, written in 1973 as a part of Neruda s posthumous collection Winter Garden. Throughout the work, Neruda contrasts the concept of personal identity with the natural world, deeming abandoning one s individuality a necessary step to obtaining lasting satisfaction with existence. Neruda conveys his idea as a physician would a diagnosis: first identifying the problem s nature, then outlining its effects and solution. Truth cannot contradict itself; thus, to recognize a fictitious entity, one must first analyze the apparently existent. Accordingly, The Egoist s first stanzas portray the individual ego as mythical and ghostlike by discriminating it from the natural world. Instantaneously, Neruda boldly asserts, Nobody is missing from the garden. Nobody is here: / only the green and black winter (Neruda, 1 2). Repeating nobody is intimates the flowers lack of self. Likewise, Neruda connoting green and black in the subsequent line signifies nature s holism. Green, reflecting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Listermint s share decreased as well as Cepacol, Colgate oral rinse, and other miscellaneous brands. The mouthwash market can be segmented into three groups, based on the frequency of use: 1. heavy users: use the product once per day or more and constitute 40% of the market; heavy users most likely want the basic features of a mouthwash that allow for their basic oral hygiene; their knowledge of the product is not necessarily extensive, but since they use the product so frequently they want the most benefit for the amount that they are spending on the product and price is probably an important consideration in their purchasing decision. 2. medium users: use the product 2 6 times a week and represent 45% of the market; similar to the heavy users, the medium users use the product consistently and are seeking the basic benefits of a mouthwash as a part of their hygiene habits; they are concerned with the price of the product since they buy it relatively frequently, and will most likely purchase a product that provides the most value for their money. 3. light users: use the product less than 1 time a week and make up only 15% of the market; these users make up a comparatively small segment of the market and do not buy or use the product as frequently as the other segments; ... • 48. Main Themes Of Dissatisfaction In The Mayor Of Casterbridge The Mayor of Casterbridge has two main themes. One theme is dissatisfaction, which is a main reason when the characters end relationships with each other. The other theme is the indelibility of the past. Some characters had long term effects when their past was learned by other characters. People were not forgiven for their past as easy in the early nineteenth as they are today. The author used these themes very well, for people to assert into their life. Dissatisfaction is very major in The Mayor of Casterbridge because many relationships are broken and mended in the book. Those characters are dissatisfied with their current state of being, so they move on to a different stage in their life, which can lead to other relationships being repaired. The author is teaching the readers to move on, if something in their life is dissatisfying them. One example of a character being dissatisfied is when Newson fakes his death because he knows Susan is not satisfied and wants to go back to Michael Henchard. Susan found out that she didn t have to stay with Newson, so she wanted to go back to Henchard. Susan became unpleasant to be around, and Newson knew she wanted to go back to Henchard. Newson faked his death to satisfy Susan and bring happiness in her life. When Lucetta met Farfrae, she became dissatisfied with Henchard. To Lucetta, Farfrae was a younger and better version of Henchard. Lucetta was going to marry Henchard, but she knew that she should would not be happy with him.
