This study examines tobacco smoking among school children in Colombo District, Sri Lanka. The study aims to understand how school children become addicted to tobacco and examines potential relationships between peer/parental smoking and the child's smoking habits. The study also examines whether studying non-science subjects is associated with higher smoking rates. The study surveyed students in grades 10 and 12 from over 400 schools in Colombo District, collecting data through classroom questionnaires. The data was analyzed using statistical software to test the study's hypotheses.
