The document describes the process of choosing a title for a school magazine. A survey was conducted asking subjects for title suggestions, including some of the author's ideas. The most popular choice from the responses was "Daily Idsall", inspired by the popular British newspaper "Daily Mail" for its informative and positive messaging. The first draft title design directly copies the front cover mock-up and uses the school's green and white colors. It takes the form of a banner for a unique look compared to other school magazines that simply use the school name. Shadow layers were added to the 3D title to make it stand out while still looking appealing.

1. TITLE EVALUATION
During the questionnaire phase of my course work I asked the subjects
what the magazine should be called with a few of my own suggestions,
and a place for them to insert their own name. The results came back
with 5 out of the 10 that answered opting for the title name “Daily Idsall”
which was a copy of the national newspaper “Daily Mail”, which I chose
to copy become of its popularity and how it is renowned for being
informative and spreading a positive message. Below is the first draft for
my school magazine title/head mast:

2. The colour scheme of the title is green and white, like the school colours. This
colour scheme will be apparent throughout the magazine.
The design of the title is like that of a banner, it’s a very different approach
from all school magazines I’ve looked at and I believe it will give my magazine
a edge that will attract students. Most title, or head masts, are dull and boring
and just simply use the school’s name, mine on the other hand is development
on the school name with a mix of a the well know newspapers.
To make the title stand out more I have used a 3D technique that uses
shadows or duplicate layers in a darker colour to give off the idea that it is
being caught by the light and has a shadow of its own. This design technique
will also make my magazine design unique as no other magazine does it, but
its not too far out there that it is weird and people won’t buy it.
