A methodology has been developed for making low compressive strength cores that
will be used to experimentally examine the Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand
(CHOPS) process occurring in unconsolidated oil reservoirs. The main objective is to
experimentally model wormhole (high permeability channel) development during
CHOPS and investigate the effect of various flow parameters such as core
permeability and porosity, compressive strength, oil/water viscosity contrast,
confining pressure and injection rate. Modeling the wormhole development and
propagation will enable us be able to developing approximate Inflow Performance
Relationship (IPR) curves.
Sands blends have been developed by varying the ratios of aggregate, cementing
material and water to prepare synthetic cores of compressive strength, permeability
and porosity ranging from 500 1500 psi, 0.5 1.5 Darcy and 20 30% respectively.
Experimental setup is developed to simulate wormhole propagation during CHOPS
process. In this process water is injected at varying range of 0.1 to 10 ml/min using
a syringe pump into floating piston accumulator to drive the oil ahead of piston to 2
x 4 synthetic core in core holder at a confining pressure of 500 1500 psi. The
differential pressure across the core is monitored throughout the process. LabVIEW
is used for data acquisition, instrument control, measurement analysis and data
presentation.

the performance was that it seemed to be a traditional drumming ensemble by just

OlabisiOnabanjo University Main Campus was surveyed usingelectrical resistivity
method to unravel the competent depth for structures foundation. The research was
also aim to delineate the lithological arrangement of the soil using this method.
The study area lies between Longitude N06В°55.389кћЊ N06В°55.384кћЊ and
Latitude E003В°55.001кћЊ and E003В°54.959кћЊ respectively. It lies in the Pre
Cambrian basement complex terrain of South western Nigeria. The rocks present in
Precambrian basement complex are mainly Granodiorite, Porphyroblastic Granite,
Migmatite Gneisses, Biotite Gneisses and Hornblende Gneiss. The Gneisses
constitute the major rocks by the other groups of rocks. The basement complex is one
of the three major litho petrologic components that make up the geology of Nigeria.
The study makes use of both Horizontal Resistivity Profiling (HRP) and Vertical

Wacky Week Analysis
We can t believe how quickly week 4 has passed at camp with group 34!! We
started off our week by learning about some differences between machines and
robots before exploring various accessories and having a robot battle in Lego
Robotics and we topped off our busy Monday with an amazing trip the HKC
Petting Zoo, where we played with the adorable bunnies and goats, watched the pig
cool down in his pool, and picked up some flapping chickens! When we came back
on Tuesday, we momentarily joined the NBA and played in a heated gameof knockout
at Basketball and we kicked off our shoes and ran around for a few crazy games
during Krav Maga. This week s Wacky Wednesday was fairy tale themed, so on top
of learning some really cool choreography and playing

An Essay On Sea Otters
An endangered species is a species that is most likely to become extinct in the
future. Just like being listed under the Endangered Species Act, or any act or treaty,
is beneficial because you are protected by the government by law, it also has some
downfall to it. Being a species listed under these acts is going to make you the main
target for hunting. There are many endangered speciesall around the world but if we
have to pick an important one, it would be the Sea Otter. The Sea Otter is, what we
call, a keystone speciesbecause it helps maintain balance in their ecosystem. Sea
Otters can be on land but they mostly spend their time in the ocean, where they live

In 1911, the United States and other countries signed the Treaty of the Preservation
andProtection of Fur Seals. About a thousand to two thousand Sea Otters remain and
are being protected by the Endangered Species Act. Not only is biodiversity being lost
in its ecosystem because of the fur trade, it is also getting lost because of oil
spillage. Oil spillage is also a huge contribution on why Sea Otters, or any marine
animal, are endangered species. The Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989 killed hundreds
and thousands of Sea Otters and oil is still lingering in the area to this day, which is
causing pollution. When there s a oil or gas spillage, it gets into the Sea Otter s fur,
which makes it very hard for them to groom themselves. They rely on their fur so
much that when it soaks up all theoil, their fur can t breath thus causing them to have
hypothermia. Breathing in the fumes of theoil can cause them to have kidney and
lung damage. Pollution on land can contaminate the ocean, causing their habitat to
get destroyed and polluted as well. According to Defenders of Wildlife, Sea Otters are
often contaminated with toxic pollutants disease

Good Journalism and Citizenship
The world is a hectic mess today. News is happening all around us, and the only
source that acts as a filter between the chaos and ourselves is the media. The media,
journalists especially, must hold upon themselves a great responsibility when they are
acting as this filtering apparatus between the ordered and unordered. But is that the
only thing journalismdoes: make sense of the news? No, it does much more than that.
Good journalism is working, with help from the citizenry, to create an enlightened
Republic filled with citizens who will be well informed of the events which intersect
their lives. There are a number of measures, though, that journalists must take before

And this is not only a discussion between citizens and citizens or leaders and
leaders but rather between citizens and leaders; the press simply acts as a medium.
Justice Douglas wrote in New York Times Co. v. United States that [o]pen debate
and discussion of public issues are vital to our national health. On public questions
there should be uninhibited, robust, and wide open debate. Although debate and
discussion are vital to the Republic, maybe society should rethink about how
uninhibited, robust, and wide open those debates really are. Society today tends to
think of debates as two opposing ideas battling each other out in order to ascertain
which idea comes out in first, and, as Kovach and Rosenstiel point out, a debate
focused only on the extremes of argument does not serve the public but instead
leaves most citizens out (167). The problem with this is that there are not only one
or two given positions on any given issue, but there are many positions. In the
debates that go on today, those positions which are often left out are often those
which are also most agreeable with each other. So instead of letting debates focus
only on the extremes, [t]he public forum must include the broad areas of agreement,
where most of the public resides and where the solutions to society s problems are
