3. Introduction
CET, Oda Bultum University
Launched in 2002E.C, with departments COTM and Surveying
Engineering
By the year 2003E.C, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer
Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs are started.
Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the 6 department in
CET including a lately started Hydraulic and Water Resource
Engineering.
The program duration is 5 years for UG students, who are expected
to start taking exit exam at the end of this year.
4. Meaning of Head of Department
An academic leadership and lower level management responsible
to coordinate/ run the department as per our university legislation.
It is required to lead, manage and develop the department to ensure
and achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its
activities.

6. Goal of the department
To prepare professionals with the capability of following the current and
future developments in the field and related applications.
To provide opportunity for workers to upgrade their knowledge.
Encourage staff to involve in research that offers solutions to technical
problems
To produce technically and practically competent engineers global
standard.
To offer consultancy service to government, industry and society.
Provide community services aimed at capacity development and
contribution to national development objectives.

Produce highly competent, problem-solving and ethical professionals
that would work for the accomplishment of national goals.

Academic Related
Follow course progress as per academic calendar
Follow Student advisement and class schedule planning
Program review and curriculum development
Coordinating committees at department level for different duties.
General supervision of the teaching and related scholarly activities of the
department.

Administrative Related
Control and Manage all the University properties under the department
Carry out routine office work upon exchange of official letters with
concerned offices
Dispatch and share all the information (Guideline & opportunities) from
college to the staff
Prepare and organize a report for different tasks performed in our
department quarterly, half-year and yearly.
