In order to make the found poem as close to the original as possible, I intended to add in very few
words that were not in chapter five, the chapter I chose to use as the source for my poem. I also
intended to include Gothic elements which were included in the first few lines when I wrote: It was a
dreary night, Dismal and wet, The rain poured from a black and comfortless sky. I had worked hard. A
dark stormy night is a Gothic element as it exhibits the metonymy of gloom and horror that was

entails. Today on this stage, I would like to not only show my story of academic success, but also how
it has inherently moulded my personality and my perception of myself.

struggled with reading and retention. I did very well in other subjects, but it always bothered me that I

different country, France and though educated still had language barrier issues and my father was a

Experiences
My interest in community organizing and building began with the passion and knowledge for the well
being of others my father instilled in my life. My father was the late Chief Elmer Manatowa Jr of the
Sac and Fox Nation, Native Tribe of Oklahoma. I have been an active Governing Council member (all
adult members) of my Tribe for many years. I landed my first real job, Planning Department secretary,
after taking a business course at the local technical .school. In that position, I had the opportunity to
attend a Tribal Sovereignty Symposium organized by the Federal, State, and Tribal organizations. This
was my first taste of community organizing and community building. It was the fourth symposium of
its kind. The topics included Indian law, environmental issues, law enforcement, juvenile justice, arts,
taxation, spirituality, preservation, state compacts, and Tribal immunity. There were two Senate Bills,
299 and 667. Bill 299 allowed certain protections for protecting land royalties and mineral rights. The
protections included oil and mineral operator s exclusion from drilling on individually owned Indian
Country lands. Bill 667 referred to the health and human service regarding Indians.
When my father died, I stepped up my participation in order to fill in the gap left without his presence.
I have been advocating for social change the Tribal government level by actively listening to the

Main Features Of The September Guarantee Scheme
In the past young people who were 16 years and over were expected to either leave school and start
their employment or remain in school and continue their formal education. However it was noticed
that there was a high level of unemployment in the age bracket of 16 24 years. To change the situation
the government started a new arrangement called the September guarantee. This was aimed at young
people who were aged 14 18 years old.
The main features of the September guarantee scheme are as follows: â€¢ The participation age for
this scheme is presently up to the age of 18. â€¢ Young people can now continue with full time studies
in school or college or with an independent training provider. It also includes a sixth form college. â€¢
They can also take a full time job or a volunteering role although these must be for 20 hours per week
or more in conjunction with part time training or education. â€¢ They can also get an apprenticeship or
a traineeship, which must include both a job/ work placement as well as a training element. â€¢ It also
apples to teenagers who leave school and complete a short course but change their mind. The
September Guarantee ensures that they are able to move to a different course they are interested in
pursuing.
To make sure all of these facilities are available to the young people the local authority makes a good
overview of the options available and identifies any gaps. They then make all this information

society and the difficulties they face. This play demonstrates how women in Elizabethan society were
expected to behave in a passive manner, how the men s opinion was accepted over the females and

There have been many debates and studies conducted on aggression in children and if video games are
a major factor in cultivating that aggression. Determining the cause for aggression in children is a
huge concern within the psychological community and the idea that video games could be behind it is

With the development of cloning, the idea of cloning humans became an option and with that came the
possibility of bringing deceased relatives back to life. At the end of reading this sentence, the authors
want the readers to think of their family members who have already taken their last breath. They want
their audience to feel an emotion, any emotion, rather it be the joy of seeing their lost loved one or

From my research I discovered three conflicting themes, and my theory behind these themes is based
upon structural analysis. This ethnography will also reveal some of the methodological questions
discussed in class, specifically, replicability, critical dialogue, reflexivity, and globalization.

Do humans think of their parents as warm and comfortable when they look at them? Harry Harlow s
experiment with infant monkeys put this idea to the test to see if humans do rely on the importance of
warm contact (king,2017), or if it is simply the emotion of loving someone. Many of the existing
theories of love centered on the idea that the earliest attachment between a mother and child was
merely a means for the child to obtain food, relieve thirst, and avoid pain (Cherry,2017). This

in the workplace, with 1 in 4 visible minority workers who reported that they had experienced racial
harassment or discrimination in the workplace [3]. In this essay, I will be discussing the social history
of racism in the workplace, the nature of racism in the labour force, motives and factors, immigration
policies, temporary programs and exploitation of employment, the de skilling of individuals and non
recognition of foreign credentials, the social history of racism in the workplace, racism in the
sociological conflict theory paradigm, and finally, policy recommendations to aimed to eliminate and

In the book Confessions by Saint Augustine, there are several themes throughout that describes
Augustine s thoughts and opinions of how to live responsibly. Augustine believes that God is the
reason for everything good that happens to one s life, which you are to praise him for. Augustine goes
through some tough situations, which he uses his life as a standard way of living or an example of
what others go through in their lifetime. He plainly states on several occasions that in everything you
do needs to be for the glory of God. This essay will outline the main themes referred in the passage of
Book X, which are find God later in one s life, seeking pleasure in worldly things, and understanding
where the beauty of the world comes from. Also, the essay will analyze his worldview that you
shouldn t find pleasure in worldly possessions and to praise God, and how it helps others live or have
a responsible life.
There are several themes within the passage that shows Augustine s worldview. For example, in the
first line of the passage, he understands the concept of loving God later in life: I have learnt to love
you late (Conf. X.27). This quote suggests that Augustine is now able to see why is mother was so
skeptical in giving him is baptism early in his childhood. He commits to sin on numerous occasions,
but comes back to find God again. In Book II, Augustine s actions are paralleled with the prodigal son:
I strayed still farther from you and you did not restrain me.

(Conf. II.1). Augustine acted just as the prodigal son did by straying from God and being taken over
by worldly pleasures. As in the story, Augustine does come back to God and devotes himself to Him
more than ever. It can be reasonably inferred that God rejoices more in the people who were lost and
then found their salvation than to always be faithful towards Him. This suggests that God wants
people to try and do it on their own, making mistakes after mistakes, and then hitting rock bottom to
perhaps humble one in order to get their full attention to be placed on Him; this is what a responsible
