TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Performed initial, visual, detailed Inspection for all Electrical, instrument and
Telecom equipment as per the project specification.
2) Expertise for the selection of equipment in the hazardous areas in all zones as per
the project specifications.
3) Competent to verify the original IECEX/ATEX certification of the hazardous
area certified equipment.
4) Ensure the successful inspection and completion of the Hazardous Area electrical
and instrumentation equipment from stages selection, preservation, installation
and mechanical completion inspection in accordance to IEC-60079-14 and IEC-
60079-17.
5) EX equipment data collection and inventory build EX register to hold full
technical and maintenance data on all EX equipment which fully reflect the
actual condition and whereabouts of all installed EX equipment and generate an
EX Dossier.
6) Raise the certification issue with the vendor or manufacturer for the particular
equipment.
7) E&I material inspection at source and prepare punch list and clearance. Perform
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for Electrical and
Instrument systems.
8) Inspection of Hazardous Area Equipment in Drilling Rigs Drill Floor, Mud Pit
Room, Mud processing and shale shaker areas.
9) Follow up with the MC team for the Re-Inspection of the equipment for the
punch clearance.
10) Maintain all certified equipment data base after completing the inspection.
11) Installation, testing, loop checking and verification via related P & ID drawings
and documents per field condition prior to Commissioning and Functional
Testing.
12) Thorough understanding of all aspects of electrical engineering in terms of
Electrical & control system, upgrade, maintenance and project management.
13) Testing and commissioning of Pumps, Motors, Generators and Control system
panels.

3. 14) Inspection and commissioning of Fire & Gas System in the Field such as Push
Button, Horn & Beacon Fire Detection, Field instruments and CCTV & PAGA
system.
15) Frequently visit and liaise with Contractor personnel on site to keep the QA/QC
manager informed with all on going and forecasted activities related to the work.
16) Establish close communication and teamwork with other disciplines to endure
overall successful completion.
17) Participate in walk downs of completed electrical and instrumentation system for
punch-out and approval of “Red Lined” as built drawings of installation.
