This document compares two houses in Lahore, Pakistan with respect to their bioclimatic characteristics. The new house was constructed in 2005 in Gulshan Ravi using modern materials like cement and plaster. The old house was constructed during Akbar's time in Hakiman Bazar and renovated in 1860 using traditional materials like brick, limestone, and mud. Temperature and humidity readings were taken in different rooms of each house in early June, finding the old house stayed closer to the comfort zone due to its thicker masonry walls and traditional materials despite being renovated. Both houses have good ventilation but the traditional materials of the old house are no longer easily available.
