The course will cover 5,000 years of architectural history in Pakistan, from the Indus Valley civilization to modern and contemporary styles. It will examine the influences of Hindu, Buddhist, Mughal, British colonial, and other styles. The goals are to understand Pakistan's historical background, the origins and timeline of its architecture, and analyze prominent examples and architects. Assessment includes assignments, quizzes, and midterm and final exams. Recommended additional readings on specific periods are also listed.
