2. 1. Seesaw
Seesaw is an app that simulates a social media platform but for the
classroom. In this app students can post questions, pictures of their
assignments as well as making videos and conversing with others.
Parents can even see their child’s work that gets posted to Seesaw.
Seesaw allows students to integrate their normal classwork into a similar
platform that adults use on a daily basis. It helps prepare them for the real
world which is very digitized. It also helps take their thinking to the next level
by giving them the opportunity to experiment with things like stop motion
videos and slide shows of their work.
Ease of Use
Students: This app may be too hard for kindergarten or first graders to use,
but any grades higher than that should be able to use it just fine. The app
guides you through how to use it for both teachers and students.
Teachers: The app walks teachers through with tips and videos how to put
together their classroom page and also how to use it. It is very easy and
effective.
3. Privacy: The teacher is completely in control of the class' page. They can delete
any posts that are made. They can also make posts of students work so only they
can see them. Parents can only see their child’s work and only after the teacher
approves that work for parent viewing.
Skills Connected to Standards: This app's purpose is more the encouragement of
learning and taking pride in your work and community building rather than
content. It does not teach a specific content area, but serves as an exciting way
for students to work together and grow as a class.
4. 2. Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a digital classroom set up where students and teachers can
ask questions and talk like on social media. Students can also submit assignments
and get instruction from their teachers.
Students can integrate their classroom learning with the ever progressing online world.
Every job out there uses some sort of online communication and processing systems.
This puts students into that world now so they are prepared for the future.
Ease of Use
Students: This app is very straight forward and is very familiar since most students have
had access to google and the google format for their whole lives.
Teachers: This app is very easy since we as a society are very familiar with googles
formatting. However, giving student access to the classroom and having so many
different things on google may become confusing when tryinig to find things you
need.
5. Privacy: Although teachers do have total control over the app, the privacy level
is not high since it is through google.
Skills Connected to Standards: This app's purpose is communication and
submitting of assignments and less on instruction. However teachers can post
videos and help on their classroom page.

Prodigy is another math and videogame combination. It combines a
virtual world and games for students to learn math. It also keeps track of
their work and has the ability to give teacher created assessments.
There is also a feature where students can use virtual manipulatives if
they are struggling with a concept.
Prodigy meets students where they are at and gives them virual curriculum
based help in math. Students are able to move at their own pace and play
games, but are also given mini lessons if they are not succeeding in a topic.
Ease of Use
Students: Prodigy is easy for students because it is a similar layout to a
videogame and also has video tutorials if they are struggling.
Teachers: This game has many step by step instructions for teachers as well
as high quality tutorials. It may look like a videogame on the end of the
student, but it looks very professional and easy on the end of the teacher.
11. Privacy: Teachers have full control over what their students are doing and
working on in the game. They must have the teachers class code to log in and
can only stay in that specific game. Teachers can see all statistics of their
students progress as well as ask their own questions to students in the game while
they are playing.
Skills Connected to Standards: The questions and games in Prodigy are all math
curriculum based. They can also be changed by the teacher if needed based
on their specific needs.
12. 6. Kahoot
Kahoot is an app that turns your class into an interactive game
show. There are many different set ups for different styles of games
and questions that can serve a variety of subjects and classrooms.
Kahoot is a way of checking your students progress without necessarily
giving them an exam or a test.
Ease of Use
Students: This app is easy for students. All they need is the teachers
code for the quiz to join. However, it may be a bit more complicated for
teachers who are less familiar with technology.
Teachers: They instructions are easy for students to comprehend since it
is like a game show. It also only allows one way through the activity so
there is less confusion.
13. Privacy: Kahoot is good for privacy because students cannot go to any other
page besides the quiz/game that they are playing as a class while on the app.
Since you have to type in a class code when logging on, it keeps them in the
same place as everyone else. There are also no pop-up adds during the games
since it is made for mass use in the classroom.
Skills Connected to Standards: Since each quiz/game is made by the teacher it is
up to them to connect it to their standards. There are already preloaded quizzes
and games that teachers can use, but they are able to pick and choose what
they would like to use.

GoNoodle's mission is to get kids moving to be their strongest, bravest,
silliest, smartest, best selves. The video content in GoNoodle is designed
to encourage and inspire that movement. The content is age-
appropriate (age 5-12) and promotes a healthy lifestyle through
movement videos.
GoNoodle supports higher learning by allowing students to strech their brains
through movement. The videos are fun for kids and appeal to kid sensibilities.
The topic of the video could be related to any of the common core content
areas.
Ease of Use
Students: GoNoodle is easy to navigate for teachers to find a movement
video that matches their lesson. The app is kid-friendly with fun videos to
keep students engaged in learning.
Teachers: GoNoodle has easy to follow instructions and the app is very user-
friendly. You can search for videos based on subject content.
15. Privacy: GoNoodle is committed to safety for students. All of the content is rated
G and does not include specific endorsements of religious or political views.
Sponsored content is always labeled and teachers have the ability to choose
whether or not to show those videos.
Skills Connected to Standards: GoNoodle is not necessarily built on common
core standards but is research based on exercise science to give students
activities that are healthy for the body, engaging for attention, and beneficial to

Stop Motion Studio is a great app for teachers who are looking for
something new and creative for students to do in their classroom. This

great for a station during small group time in class and even as a
homework assignment.

knowledge in a new and fun way. They can be as straight forward or as

and teachers.

Students: This app is very simple and easy to use. It is suitable for first grade

Teachers: This app is very easy for teacher because it is very much up to the
student. The format is also very straight forward if the student needs any
help.
17. Privacy: The app is a creation app so there is no need to worry about students
doing anything that they aren't supposed to. They have no way of
communicating through the app itself.
Skills Connected to Standards: This app can take the place of an assessment or
activity in any subject. It would be a great activity to put into stations during small
groups.
18. 9. Unimersiv
Unimersiv is a virtual reality app that shows students things that they
may never get to see in their lifetime. Whether that be the pyramids
in Egypt, Rome or the Titanic. This app takes learning about history to
the next level.
Unimersiv takes students knowledge of hisory to the next level. History
can often become boring and forgettable, but with virtual reality on the
side of education it will be hard to forget. It gives students the
opportunity to experience amazing things without ever leaving the
classroom.
Ease of Use
Students: Unimersiv is very easy to use, but does require some extra
technology since you are using virtual reality.
Teachers: This app might take some playing with for the teacher who is
unfamiliar with virtual reality, but can be a lot of fun and very simple.
19. Privacy: Since students are in a virtual reality they have to stay in the path laid
ahead for them. They can't stray from the preplanned lesson.
Skills Connected to Standards: Unimersiv is preplanned and curriculum based. It
also has a constanly growing archive of lessons and experiences for students.
20. 10. Stack the States/Stack the
Countries
Stack the States/Countries is a game used for students learning
about geography. It helps students learn about the shapes of states
and countries, where they are in the world and what they are
known for.
This app is a great alternative to using just a map to teach geography.
Ease of Use
Students: These two apps are super easy to use and give students fun
games with the same goal in mind of learning their states/countries
Teachers: This app is very hands off and easy for teachers to use. They
do not have to worry about creating or monitoring anything within the
game.
21. Privacy: Both of these apps are played by just the individual and don't have any
in app purchases for teachers to worry about.

standard in elementary school. This app can help teach that in a new and
exciting way.
