The document discusses emerging trends in technology including the exponential pace of change, the rise of mobile devices, virtual and augmented reality, the internet of things, robots, big data, and opportunities in life sciences. It notes that what was once science fiction is now reality and within 40 years many predictions about advancements in areas like 3D printed organs may come to pass. The presentation encourages attendees to consider how these trends could impact their organizations and to have a mobile first policy.
We are currently living in times of great transformation. As the smartphone revolution ends, the next set of revolutions are starting. One of these revolutions is We have over the last couple of decade seen the Internet become the most powerful disrupting force in the world, connecting everyone and transforming businesses. Now everyday objects - things we use are getting smart with sensors and software. And they are connecting. What does this mean?
In this lecture we explore the Internet of Things, IoT or Internet of Everything
Find out what's next for technology in 2014 from leading futurist Dr. James Canton, CEO Institute for Global Futures. Cloud computing, analytics, social media, computing, mobile web, augmented reality, drones, bit coin, mobile commerce, robots, cognitive computers, evolutionary networks.
Local is the Lo in SoLoMo, the buzz word. Local is not only about location, it´s also about your digital track record. Over 70% of Netflix users watch the films recommend. Mining data to understand people´s behaviour is getting to be a huge and valuable business. Advertisers see opportunities in getting direct to their target groups. Predictive intelligence is also about where you will be at some time in the future, and where somebody you know will be.
The world is about to get really scary.

In 2011 a new app called FourSqure became wildly popular. It allowed people to "check-in" to a location so other could see where you are. This might be a stupid service to provide, but still 55 millions people signed up generating over 6 millions of check-ins. Think about all the data that got created about places and people.
Local is the Lo in SoLoMo, the buzz word. Local is not only about location, it´s also about your digital track record. Over 70% of Netflix users watch the films recommend. Facebook and Google customize the content the provide to you, presumably to create a better user experience. However, there are some problems with filtering too much. We might get stuck in a bubble and never exposed to new ideas.
Everything we do is tracked, creating digital footprint. Mining data to understand people´s behaviour is getting to be a huge and valuable business. Advertisers see opportunities in getting direct to their target groups.

Every market has infrastructure -- physical assets needed for the operation of an enterprise. And every piece of infrastructure will be impacted by the Internet of Things -- physical "dumb" objects, embedded with sensors, connected to the internet, communicating with one another and people. Understanding this collision of the Internet and Infrastructure is important for the future of both. This is a slideshow of articles I've curated on the topic.

We hear specific technology terms more frequently, however some individuals may not know what they mean.
My goal is to help you understand the topics that are changing our world and will most likely continue to play an integral part in how we interact with technology.
Computer science is faced with many challenges as the digital universe expands. From mobile and cloud computing to data security, addressing these issues can require large, structural changes, but an examination of these problems can lead to organizational solutions and improvements in the world.
Staring with an brief overview of the changing role of the CIO between 2018 and 2020, then moving into the technology landscape, here are 10 use cases across the new three: AI, IoT and Blockchain (and in many cases an overlap of them)

We have never lived in a world of faster and more wide-reaching technology innovations.
Our jobs, businesses, and how we operate as societies are being transformed by
technology, and the current global pandemic is only fast-tracking the digital
transformation. With this post, I want to delve into the top 10 tech trends that are driving the 4th Industrial Revolution, and that will define the next decade.
It has been said that Mobiles +Cloud + Social + Big Data = Better Run The World. IBM has invested over $20 billion since 2005 to grow its analytics business, many companies will invest more than $120 billion by 2015 on analytics, hardware, software and services critical in almost every industry like ; Healthcare, media, sports, finance, government, etc.
It has been estimated that there is a shortage of 140,000 – 190,000 people with deep analytical skills to fill the demand of jobs in the U.S. by 2018.
Decoding the human genome originally took 10 years to process; now it can be achieved in one week with the power of Analytic and BI (Business Intelligence). This lecture’s Key Messages is that Analytics provide a competitive edge to individuals , companies and institutions and that Analytics and BI are often critical to the success of any organization.
Methodology used is to teach analytic techniques through real world examples and real data with this goal to convince audience of the Analytics Edge and power of BI, and inspire them to use analytics and BI in their career and their life.
“ Artificial intelligence and Big Data are two burgeoning technologies, full of promise for businesses in all industries. However, the real revolutionary potential of these two technologies is probably their convergence. Discover the possibilities offered by the alliance between Big Data and AI. “

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

54. In summary, the current empirical
research on gamification largely
supports the popular view that,
indeed, gamification does produce
positive effects, but many caveats
exist (see e.g. Hamari 2013)
55. Most frequently, the studies bring
forth three categories of caveats:
the context of gamification,
qualities of the users using the
system and possible novelty effects.
62. When learning from
real life is dangerous
• Earthquakes and explosions
causing mass casualty
• Chemical and biological
hazards that imperil the rescuer
• New infections that cross the
globe in a day
- use simulation to
present authentic work
environments
63. When the information
is critical but routine
• Roll out a change in infection
prevention policy to 10,000
nurses in your clinics
• Teach pre-surgery patients how
to bathe to prevent hospital-
acquired infection
• Show nurses a structured
communication that maximizes
transfer of relevant information
to physicians
- use simulation to
engage them in action
64. When communication
is critical but difficult
• Giving bad news
• Working with a difficult patient
• Handoff at shift change
• Reporting up the hierarchy
• Asserting a concern
- use simulation to role
play during dialog
practice
