Jesus lived in Palestine, now known as Israel or the Holy Land, around 2000 years ago. The main areas of Palestine were Galilee, Samaria, and Judea. Jesus grew up in Nazareth and spent much of his ministry in Capernaum near the Sea of Galilee, where he performed many miracles. He was also born in Bethlehem and crucified in Jerusalem, the holy city that is still sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims today as it contains the Temple.
