 The Lesson.
 Role-Playing.
 The tutorial(coaching).
 The Discussion.
 The Syndicate exercise.
 Learning packages.
 Learning journals.
 Computer-based training and online learning.
BASICALLY THERE ARE “TEN”
CONTENTS
There is little or no participation by the trainees until they are
invited to ask questions which is usually at the end.
 Advantages-
 The trainer has complete control over content and sequence in
which the material is presented.
 Large numbers of trainees can be catered for.
 Disadvantages-
 Not a method which can be used to teach skills.
 Skill demand on presenter very high.
THE LECTURE.
An illustration by live performance of a task, skill or procedure
accompanied by an explanation by the trainer or an assistant.
Advantages-
 Shows Relationship Between Different Activities Within a Task.
 Speed Can Be Adapted To Suit Pace Level Of Group.
Disadvantages-
 Needs Careful Preparation By Demonstrators To Ensure Correct
Model is Shown.
 Can be Time-consuming to obtain materials, set up and dismantle if
dedicated space is not available.
THE DEMONSTRATION.
The most used and most versatile tactic which the trainer has .
It can be used for teaching both facts and skills.
 Advantages-
 Ideal medium for teaching skills.
 High level of trainee participation.
 Disadvantage-
 Size of group must be limited to allow for participation
THE LESSON.
The presentation of job and task activities which as near as is
practicable replicate the essential features of the real
situation.
 Advantages-
 Introduces an element of realism.
 Involves high level of activity for trainees.
 Disadvantages-
 In-tray and case study material could need constant up-dating.
 High level of skill required by trainer to direct, manage and control
the exercises.
ROLE-PLAYING.
Structured training which is conducted on a one-to-one basis
between trainer and trainee.
 Advantages-
 Constant feedback for trainee.
 Job continues to function while training takes place.
 Disadvantages-
 Trainer and trainee must be compatible as a working pair.
 Time spent in preparation and training of one person is the same
as for training a group.
THE TUTORIAL(COACHING).
A group activity usually led by the trainer in which the
participants examine suggestions, attitudes, solutions to
problems , etc.
 Advantages-
 Opportunity for individuals to express opinions and to listen to the
views of others.
 High level of participation by trainees.
 Experience and knowledge of trainees can be drawn out.
 Disadvantages-
 Can be time-consuming if not properly structured.
 To be effective, no more than twelve should be allowed to
participate.
THE DISCUSSION.
The tactic can be used to give trainees the opportunity to work
in small groups, to put into practice or apply what they have
learnt ,or to draw upon existing knowledge to draw up lists od
ideas and thoughts on a particular topic.
 Advantages-
 Achieves activity.
 Provides a challenge.
 Can encourage teamwork.
 Disadvantages-
 Trainer could lose some control.
 Exercises need to be carefully structured.
 Demanding on trainer to monitor activity of groups.
THE SYNDICATE EXERCISE.
A collection of learning materials which could include directed
reading, activities, case studies, sound and video recording,
assignment , etc.
 Advantages-
 Self – pacing and trines may being at any time.
 Can be used with a widely dispersed target population.
 Disadvantages-
 Cannot be used effectively and safely for skill training.
 Assessing assignments and exercises can be difficult and time-
consuming.
LEARNING PACKAGES.
Whilst it cannot be regarded as a tactic used directly by the
trainer, encouraging the use of a learning journal or log has
proved to be an effective way of tracking personal
development through the tactics described but more
specifically placing an emphasis on unstructured, information
activities.
 Advantages-
 Records achievement.
 Records what has been learnt and put into practice.
 Encourages self-development.
 Disadvantages-
 Difficult to bring oneself to record negative experiences.
 Commitment needed to maintain to complete record.
LEARNING JOURNALS.
There is no doubt that the major innovations in training
delivery the last 25 years have involved the use of computers
and/ or telecommunications. The packages and strategies that
have become available employing these technologies provide
a wide range of learning opportunities to meet different needs.
 Advantages-
 Learners may begin at any time and learning is self-paced.
 Maximum involvement is responding to stimuli presented on the
screen.
 Material structured so that it is presented in digestible chunks.
 Disadvantages-
 High level of demand on the tutor to co-ordinate and involve
everyone.
 Non-verbal reactions cannot be expressed or picked up.
 If large numbers are involved, administration could be difficult.
COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING AND
ONLINE LEARNING.
Thankfully, there are a few common and lesser-
known techniques out there that have been proven to
increase an individual’s ability to remember crucial
information. Therefore, if you’re worried that
corporate training isn’t improving your workforce’s
performance, the following eLearning tactics should
provide some invaluable and useful insights.

The tactics or method’s used for training program

  • 1. Program - BBA, Department - HRM. Subject Name - Training and Management Development. Subject Code - B 4167. Batch No - 49th. WELCOME TO ASIAN UNIVERSITY OF BANGLADESH.
  • 3. DIAGRAM TO SHOW INTERACTION OF FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE DESIGN OF TRAINING.
  • 4. The Tactics or method’s used for Training program. TODAY MY PRESENTATION TOPIC ON:
  • 5.  The Lecture.  The demonstration.  The Lesson.  Role-Playing.  The tutorial(coaching).  The Discussion.  The Syndicate exercise.  Learning packages.  Learning journals.  Computer-based training and online learning. BASICALLY THERE ARE “TEN” CONTENTS
  • 6. There is little or no participation by the trainees until they are invited to ask questions which is usually at the end.  Advantages-  The trainer has complete control over content and sequence in which the material is presented.  Large numbers of trainees can be catered for.  Disadvantages-  Not a method which can be used to teach skills.  Skill demand on presenter very high. THE LECTURE.

An illustration by live performance of a task, skill or procedure accompanied by an explanation by the trainer or an assistant. Advantages-  Shows Relationship Between Different Activities Within a Task.  Speed Can Be Adapted To Suit Pace Level Of Group. Disadvantages-  Needs Careful Preparation By Demonstrators To Ensure Correct Model is Shown.  Can be Time-consuming to obtain materials, set up and dismantle if dedicated space is not available. THE DEMONSTRATION.
  • 8. The most used and most versatile tactic which the trainer has . It can be used for teaching both facts and skills.  Advantages-  Ideal medium for teaching skills.  High level of trainee participation.  Disadvantage-  Size of group must be limited to allow for participation THE LESSON.
  • 9. The presentation of job and task activities which as near as is practicable replicate the essential features of the real situation.  Advantages-  Introduces an element of realism.  Involves high level of activity for trainees.  Disadvantages-  In-tray and case study material could need constant up-dating.  High level of skill required by trainer to direct, manage and control the exercises. ROLE-PLAYING.

Structured training which is conducted on a one-to-one basis between trainer and trainee.  Advantages-  Constant feedback for trainee.  Job continues to function while training takes place.  Disadvantages-  Trainer and trainee must be compatible as a working pair.  Time spent in preparation and training of one person is the same as for training a group. THE TUTORIAL(COACHING).

A group activity usually led by the trainer in which the participants examine suggestions, attitudes, solutions to problems , etc.  Advantages-  Opportunity for individuals to express opinions and to listen to the views of others.  High level of participation by trainees.  Experience and knowledge of trainees can be drawn out.  Disadvantages-  Can be time-consuming if not properly structured.  To be effective, no more than twelve should be allowed to participate. THE DISCUSSION.

The tactic can be used to give trainees the opportunity to work in small groups, to put into practice or apply what they have learnt ,or to draw upon existing knowledge to draw up lists od ideas and thoughts on a particular topic.  Advantages-  Achieves activity.  Provides a challenge.  Can encourage teamwork.  Disadvantages-  Trainer could lose some control.  Exercises need to be carefully structured.  Demanding on trainer to monitor activity of groups. THE SYNDICATE EXERCISE.

A collection of learning materials which could include directed reading, activities, case studies, sound and video recording, assignment , etc.  Advantages-  Self – pacing and trines may being at any time.  Can be used with a widely dispersed target population.  Disadvantages-  Cannot be used effectively and safely for skill training.  Assessing assignments and exercises can be difficult and time- consuming. LEARNING PACKAGES.

Whilst it cannot be regarded as a tactic used directly by the trainer, encouraging the use of a learning journal or log has proved to be an effective way of tracking personal development through the tactics described but more specifically placing an emphasis on unstructured, information activities.  Advantages-  Records achievement.  Records what has been learnt and put into practice.  Encourages self-development.  Disadvantages-  Difficult to bring oneself to record negative experiences.  Commitment needed to maintain to complete record. LEARNING JOURNALS.
  • 15. There is no doubt that the major innovations in training delivery the last 25 years have involved the use of computers and/ or telecommunications. The packages and strategies that have become available employing these technologies provide a wide range of learning opportunities to meet different needs.  Advantages-  Learners may begin at any time and learning is self-paced.  Maximum involvement is responding to stimuli presented on the screen.  Material structured so that it is presented in digestible chunks.  Disadvantages-  High level of demand on the tutor to co-ordinate and involve everyone.  Non-verbal reactions cannot be expressed or picked up.  If large numbers are involved, administration could be difficult. COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING AND ONLINE LEARNING.
  • 16. Thankfully, there are a few common and lesser- known techniques out there that have been proven to increase an individual’s ability to remember crucial information.
