The social-cognitive theory presentation
1. The social-cognitive theory is a theoretical view in which learning by observing
others is the focus of study. Social cognitive theory states that people can learn by
observing others. Learners can acquire new behaviors and knowledge by simply
observing a model. A model is a person who demonstrates behaviour for someone
else. Furthermore, Albert Bandura (1977) states that behaviour is learned from the
environment through the process of observational learning.
Environment factor
Environment is the natural world, as a whole or in a particular geographical area. In
this context the environment is the classroom where the teacher presents a lesson to
the learners. The environment is the central factor because it is the factor that
influences the cognition of the student.
Personal factor
In the personal factor the students ask the teacher questions on the lesson
presented. This requires the students to use their minds in order to understand the
content thought, if they do not understand they need to raise their hands and ask
questions.
Behavior
The personal factor influences the behavior of the students on whether they
understand the lesson presented by the teacher. The teacher reviews the point
(behavior influences environment).
Curation tool
2. Scoop.it allows the user to be able to use unlimited amount of sources (websites,
RSS feeds, specific social media accounts, etc.). The tool will allow learners to get
extra information in order to gather information on the lesson presented by the
teacher, and the tool is easy to use.
