• It is a type of field conservation of
some horticultural species and
cultivars which subjected to the
optimum condition to preserve it as
longer as possible.
1) It is a cheap method for keeping important
items of horticultural species and cultivars .
2) It is effective method to evaluate those
cultivars under controlled conditions.
3) Studying the specific and interaction effects
between those cultivars and the
environmental conditions.
4. It serve as a certified center for supplying the
farmers with important cultivars.
5. Applying many morphological, physiological,
and genetic studies on many groups of cultivars
in the same place and the same time.
6. Inserting those cultivars in some genetic
development programs for improving their
performance.
• These field collection was cultivated in 1996 by
many of cultivars such as Aswad Lybia, Itrana,
Coratina, Techernuola, Bella di Spagna, Tanch,
Manzanillo, Chiperssino, Karidalya, Nabali
Saadeh, Jolit, Conservollia, Nabali Mohassan,
Picholine, Jabaa, Douaibly, Mawi Abou Shoka,
Sorany and Kaissy….
• Theses cultivars were obtained from ACSAD, and
many other local cultivars were cultivated in the
field gene bank.
• These cultivars act as propagation material to
produce adapted seedlings for farmers.
• There are different morphological, physiological
, and genetic evaluation studies were applied on
these cultivars.
• Different parameters were studied to evaluate
the olive field collection such as vegetative
characteristics, flowering habit, blooming in
relation to chilling, fruit physical and chemical
characteristics and productivity.
• These cultivars are namely Wonderfull, Manfaloty,
Nap El-Gaml, Saedy, Bany Rafea Morakab, Bany
Rafea Ahmer, Wardy, Asutty, Banatty, Montakhab
araby.
• These cultivars inserted in evaluation program
under regulated Deficit irrigation treatments.
• These cultivars act as propagation material to
produce adapted seedlings for farmers.
• Many of morphological, physiological , and genetic
evaluation studies where applied on these cultivars.
• There are different evaluation studies were
applied on these cultivars in the field collection
which named Non Pareil, Texas Mission,
Peerless, IXL, Neplusultra, Jordanello, Jordans,
drake, Eureke, Ivola.
• The selected Almond cultivars subjected to
many of studies to solve the problem of self in-
compatibility and cross in-compatibility to select
the perfect group to obtain the best tree yield.
• The selected Almond cultivars subjected to
many of drought treatments in relation with
many kinds of rootstocks such as Better
Almond, Nemagard, Wildpeach, and Sweet
almond.
• These cultivars act as propagation material to
produce adapted seedlings for farmers.
