Wanner Engineering manufactures Stan-Cor centrifugal pumps that can handle abrasive fluids, reaching head heights of 350 feet and flow rates of 700 gallons per minute. Centrifugal pumps contain an impeller that uses backward curved plates to create centrifugal force and kinetic energy when rotated, building up both pressure and flow in the system. The impeller is housed inside a casing that collects the liquid and pushes it in the direction of impeller rotation, reducing velocity and increasing static pressure needed to overcome system pressure.
