10. It is therefore important to have substantial
knowledge of the subject to be covered and
consider all possible questions that might be
posed.
11. The third “P”, positive thinking, can convert a
mediocre performance to one of excellence as
the use of positive affirmations can provide
the necessary confidence for the event.
12. Of equal importance are the 3C’s (control,
commitment and challenge) which are
promoted by S. Maddi and S. Kobasa.
14. Therefore, persons have the power to determine
whether a future event will be negative or
positive.
15. This is endorsed by Celine Dion’s song, “The
Power of the Dream”, in which it states that:
“…your fate is all your own creation”.
16. The next “C”, commitment, demands a high level
of devotion to the goal and a willingness to
get deeply involved in the activities necessary
to achieve a positive outcome.
17. The third “C”, challenge, requires that persons
view the event as a challenge as opposed to a
threat.
18. Hence, persons should be more inclined to
embrace a challenge as opposed to being
afraid of it.
19. The next big event, whatever it is, should not be
feared.
