The Moon is the Earth’s nearest
Neighbor.
It is a ball of rock that orbits
Earth.
It takes about 27 days to make
one full orbit.

object in the night sky.
• But the Moon can’t make its own
light or heat.
• It looks like it shines because
the sun’s light bounces off of it.
