(In effect, use ICPC, or “In Context Peer Coaching”:

2. What is your reaction to what I said?
3. What do you think needs to improve?
4. What are the challenges that you face?
5. What are the “facts of the case” (ref. NPEP method)Reality

Assist the dad to think through the ideas, problems and
resolutions. (The coach is not there to give the “solutions”)
Better to ask the following questions:
1. What do you think can be done?
2. How can we move toward the goal?
3. What options or alternatives do we have?
4. What has worked in the past?
5. …. What do you think of this approach?.....
Note: Be open, and HELPFUL. The coach should point out, very
delicately, whatever is obviously wrong.

The GROW Model for Peer Coaching
A Framework for Effective Peer Coaching
PROCESS:
• 1 Dad actor & 1 Peer Coach actor will discuss. Peer Coach will
take the lead, using the GROW Model
• Other participants will evaluate the Peer Coach, using the
Role Playing Score Sheet. Write the Peer Coach Name
• Reverse Roles
• Again, participants will evaluate the Peer Coach, using the
Role Playing Score Sheet. Write the Peer Coach Name
• Three Cases: 1) Dad knows PAREF and attends some
Formation activities, 2) Dad doesn’t know anything about
PAREF, 3) Dad has some objections vs the school

The GROW Model for Peer Coaching A Framework for Effective Peer Coaching Assist the dad to assess his situation vis-à-vis his Goals (In effect, use ICPC, or “In Context Peer Coaching”: actual family environment) 1. So, how’s the family in this aspect? 2. What is your reaction to what I said? 3. What do you think needs to improve? 4. What are the challenges that you face? 5. (The coach is not there to give the “solutions”) Better to ask the following questions: 1. What do you think can be done? 2. How can we move toward the goal? 3. What options or alternatives do we have? 4. What has worked in the past? 5. …. What do you think of this approach?..... Note: Be open, and HELPFUL. The coach should point out, very delicately, whatever is obviously wrong. Options (How do we get there?) Measurable 3. Achievable 4. Reasonable 5. Time Bound Note: The process is long-term, gradual, encouraging. You are only an instrument, not the boss! Way Forward (What Next?)   • 9. ROLE PLAYING The GROW Model for Peer Coaching A Framework for Effective Peer Coaching PROCESS: • 1 Dad actor & 1 Peer Coach actor will discuss. Peer Coach will take the lead, using the GROW Model • Other participants will evaluate the Peer Coach, using the Role Playing Score Sheet. Write the Peer Coach Name • Reverse Roles • Again, participants will evaluate the Peer Coach, using the Role Playing Score Sheet. Write the Peer Coach Name • Three Cases: 1) Dad knows PAREF and attends some Formation activities, 2) Dad doesn’t know anything about PAREF, 3) Dad has some objections vs the school © PEER COACHING SEMINAR • Cebu • June 6, 2015 • DDC & FRF
