Why Baseball Is Important To Me Research Paper
Baseball is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. I love how I feel at home when I walk onto the
field. I always play the same position, second base,it is my favorite position to play.I love when
the ball is hit to me and I can scoop it up and throw it to first. When we get three outs, we go to
bat and I hit pretty good most of the time. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head
out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around
me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I
always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first
unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the
shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we
get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and
tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we
bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because
he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and
coach normally tells me to hit away.I

Ted Talk By Elizabeth Loftus
My topic of interest is in memory; to be more exact it s on the phenomenon of false memory.
False memories are memories someone remembers but in truly did not occur or happened in the
way remembered. I was interested in the topic truthfully because I watch a lot of SUV on TV,
and while the cases may not be real I feel like people do have scenarios similar to the cases. There
was one episode in which a rape victim had identified the person she believed had attacked her,
with so much certainty she KNEW it was he. Needless to say, it had turned out she mistook the
person who attacked her with someone who had similar features. In a Ted Talk by Elizabeth Loftus
she states examples of people going to psychotherapy, and then they d come out having

The History of the Modern Piano
The History of the Modern Piano Pianos have been around for about three millenniums, and have
been redesigned hundreds if not thousands of times! What has kept this instrument, this form of
expressing deep feeling, so entwined with its owner and all those who hear it? The piano has
been around for such a lengthy period of time that it is described to have an epoch, or an age,
which represents its climb into fame and ends just before the current depression it s going through.
This is known as, The Age of the Piano(Bellis, About). There are many types of pianos that can be
divided into groups. The spinet piano, the console piano, and the studio piano are a few examples
of these. These are called vertical pianos, because they focus... Show more content on

His first attempt, in 1720, was successful, in the goals he was trying to accomplish, but the music
was soft and the keys were too hard to push down. We still adopt his system of 88 piano keys to
create music. Some of his original pianos still exist today in the world. There are currently ten
that are still kept in museums (Natural History, 5). The piano was first designed without a strong
system of plucking the strings. This initially made the first couple attempts a failure, but some
German inventors got together and developed a better system of making intricate sounds (with
deep and light feeling) with hammers (The Piano, 6). These depths allowed for the expression of
romanticism and emotion. The piano was invented, because the harpsichord was unable of
creating depths (Bellis, About). It was made because of a want or need for music and feeling.
Pianos, today, are still used in creating music and beats which are enjoyed by the people who
listen to these sounds. The piano has been a part of creating, playing, and enjoying music for a
long time, but is losing demand. People have been trying to come up with different methods of
creating sound, of playing sound, and of listening to these two ingredients of sound mixed together
to create a

Understudie
It has been highlighted to my attention that a freedom I now have may soon be taken away from
me. I am alluding to the opportunity of putting away my effects at school with genuine feelings of
serenity, realizing that they will be sheltered from prying eyes inside my locker. The strategy of
arbitrary lockerlooks that you are thinking about won t control grounds savagery or lessen

It is safe to say that they are to surrender their security? Is it accurate to say that they are to be
dealt with as though they are blameworthy of having firearms and medications? I feel certain
they would preferably be sheltered from a shooter s point than be absolutely powerless. I am
sure, in any case, that inclusion in extracurricular exercises that transcend social factions would
make the likelihood of understudies viciously completing their fury essentially more improbable
than having their lockers sought aimlessly. Savagery aside, it is likewise certain to me that
youngsters who do as they are told ought not be looted of pride and security for the far fetched
possibility of other kids being incidentally frustrated in their way of self annihilation by the
utilization of weapons or medications. As should be obvious, arbitrary locker pursuits are not the
response to making our schools safe, and to pay somebody to do the seeking would misuse both
assets and opportunity. While a sentiment security, which weapons and medications encroach upon,
is fundamental in our schools, I don t trust that it can be accomplished by irregular locker seeks.
This approach will additionally estrange understudies inclined to medication utilize and savagery; it
will pointlessly harm the cooperative attitude of understudies all in all; and, at long last, it will

Buying A Home Essay
Luxury is a divisive word; it is a satisfaction and not a necessity lavish and expensive, great ease
and comfort, these are all adjectives that define luxury.
Luxury in the new context is the enjoyment of the best in life.
Owning a home that doesn t leave a negative impact on the community, and brings in positive

musculoskeletal and joint pain. While it is an effective form of pain therapy, not all patients can
tolerate the side effects of a traditional NSAIDS such as a gastrointestinal toxicity. As a result, either
the patient reduces the dosage or stop taking the medication at all. This kind of response is
frustrating to the physical therapist since the patient s participation to achieve a desired outcome is

The French Hip Hop History
Melanie Georgiades, more commonly referred to as Diam s, played a major role in the French
hip hop history due to her highly controversial music and challenging feminism brought out in a
world of machismo. Born in Cyprus in 1980, Diam s was an only child raised by a single mother
in France, in the suburbs of Orsay. Growing up Diam s was heavily inspired by French
mainstream music: specifically rap and pop. Most notably among the musicians that inspired
Diam s are Supreme NTM and Public Enemy; similarities between the musicians can be heard in
their music. The importance behind Diam s music extends far beyond the scope of female
empowerment. While Diam s did play a prominent role in advancing feminist ideas in what has
always been a largely male dominated rap culture, she also challenged many societal norms,
especially in the Francophone world. By combining new styles with controversial messages
Diam s established herself as a true hip hop artist, and did so successfully. Diam s created a
plethora of well liked and popular musical albums throughout her time as a successful artist from
the mid 1990s to mid 2000s. These included SOS, Dans Ma Bulle, and Brut De Femme. The
content within these albums were directly influenced by her outlook of the culture that she grew
up in, and since her career was started at the mere age of fifteen, youthful ingenuity was added to
her cause. This lyrical honesty boosted Diam s into position of France s most popular female
rapper which gave

Puerto Rican Beauty Standards Essay
As of recently, the media has been flooded with positive interpretations of beauty standards all
over the world. According to various sources, beauty ideals, in women especially, are socially
constructed in order to judge a person s value based on physical attractiveness; therefore, it is
highly encouraged that people pay attention to their looks and take care of themselves, in order
for others to create a positive first impression of one s character. It is no secret that beauty
standards vary from one culture to the next and it is difficult to establish a universal principle of
what is considered beautiful. Many countries ideals contrast one another and, as a result, allow for
stereotypes to emerge. This is the case between American... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is not uncommon that you ll hear Puerto Ricans refer to themselves as the mutts of the Spanish
community, this is because of the island s history. Soon after Christopher Columbus discovered the
island in 1493, it became known as the rich port for the Spanish or Puerto Rico, due to the fact that
it produced mass amounts of cattle, sugar cane, tobacco, and coffee, especially considering the
island s size. Such prosperity and wealth opened the door for the slave trade to enter the colony,
and as a result Puerto Rican bloodlines and cultures evolved not only from the Spanish, but also
from Africans, and indigenous TaГno and Carib people ( Puerto Rico History and Heritage ). In
addition, over the centuries many failed attempts where made by the French, Dutch, and English to
conquer the island which even further changed the bloodlines. Of course, as history has it, at the
end of the Spanish American war in 1898, the Treaty of Paris declared the the Spanish would
surrender Puerto Rico to the United States, therefore infiltrating American culture and beauty ideals.
One of the most charming statements ever made about Puerto Rican diversity goes as follows:
Their skins were like a rainbow of toasted wood...Some skins were very fair, as fair as his, but they
betrayed another something against the bone. Their

Employees Motivation Essay
Employees Motivation A business seeks profit by provided customers with goods and services
(Schoell, et al 15). There are various types of businesses that differ according to their ownership.
The three basic forms of private ownership businesses are the sole proprietorship (i.e. sole trader),
partnership, and corporation (Schoell, et al 132). The type of ownership that a business organization
would apply is dependent on the owner s financial statusand objectives. Apart from the different
types of ownerships, there are various styles of management and leadership. The organization s

The autocratic style of leadership would be considered the most task oriented type, in which the
manager carry out all the decision making process without any consultations from subordinates.
Communication is one way, where the work provided by the manager is to be done without any
modifications by the subordinates. In this style of leadership, the delegation of authority is
centralized, meaning that the decision making is only performed by top line managers and is
rarely delegated to subordinates along the chain of command (Bovee, et al 476 8). The
democratic leadership style is more of a participative type of leadership (Schoell, et al 286). It is
a two way communication leadership, in which employees are allowed to contribute in the
decision making; however, the manager makes the final decision. The delegation of authority in
this style of leadership is less centralized and more decentralized than in the autocratic style.
Employees feel more flexible, since they are allowed to modify in the methods of accomplishing
the tasks and to contribute in the decision making. This changes the working environment; making
it an environment with a lot of team working, where each employee feels that he plays an
essential role in the well being of the business (Bovee, et al 476 8). The free reign style of
leadership is the most lenient style, in which the employees have the complete freedom by

Jude And Sue In Grapes Of Wrath
People often make mistakes that they eventually come to regret. Simultaneously, there would be
someone close to that person that would want them to be in a happier state than the one they are
currently in. This is evident through the nature and predicament of the characters Jude and Sue in
the passage; Sue is unhappy because she regrets getting married, and Jude wishes that she was
happier and her misery would end. The nature and predicament of the characters are portrayed
through the literary elements that are present in the story. The nature and predicament of Jude and
Sue are revealed in the passage through the use of diction, tone, choice of detail, and symbolism.
Initially, the diction and tone used in the passage portray... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Notably, the use of symbolism in the story can be found through Jude s act of putting the rabbit
out of his misery from the trap, which symbolizes Jude s wishing for Sue to be put out of her
misery. In addition, the rabbit being trapped in the gin symbolizes the agony that Sue is enduring
from being trapped in her unwanted marriage. For example, in lines 11 through 13, stating, If it
were a bad catch by the hind leg, the animal would tug during the ensuing six hours till the iron
teeth of the trap had stripped the leg bone of its flesh, when, should a weak springed instrument
enable it to escape, it would die in the field from mortification of the limb. This quote explains
the aftermath of what would be considered a bad catch of the rabbit by the trap, as it would
struggle to escape and fail to do so. As the rabbit being trapped represents Sue being hopelessly
trapped in her marriage, this symbolizes that there is no escape from her marriage, as Sue feels
she should be allowed to correct the major mistake she had made. Since Jude put the rabbit out
of its suffering, this also symbolizes the suffering that he wants to end for Sue, as she suffers
from her marriage that she would find relief from ending. Moving on, the use of symbolism
through the rabbit can be found in lines 19 through 21, which states The faint click of the trap as
dragged about by the writhing animal guided him now, and reaching the spot he struck the rabbit
on the back of the neck with the side of his palm, and it stretched itself out dead. This quote
refers to when Jude went out to kill the rabbit in order to end its suffering while it was struggling
to escape the trap in agonizing pain. Additionally, this symbolizes Jude s desire for Sue to be
relieved from her regret and agony of her undesirable marriage, as Jude feels that Sue should not

The Benefits Of Irreversible Enzyme Inhibitors
Enzyme inhibitors are molecules that bind to enzymes to decrease their activity. Many drugs are
enzyme inhibitors because by blocking the enzymes activity it can kill pathogens (shpanskaya and
Melechko, 2008) Enzyme inhibitors assist in altering the catalytic action of an enzyme in order to
slow down or stop catalysis (Worthington biochemical corporation, 2015). Inhabitation can either be
reversible or irreversible. During irreversible inhabitation the inhibitor detaches slowly from its
targeted enzyme as it is tightly bound to the enzyme by covalent or noncovalent bonds. Important
drugs such as penicillin are irreversible inhibitors. The penicillin covalently modifies the enzyme
transpeptidase which prevents synthesis of bacterial cell walls consequently killing off the bacteria
(Biochemistry, 2002)
As opposed to irreversible inhibition, reversible inhibition is a rapid detachment of the enzyme
inhibitor because the inhibitors bind to the enzymes with non covalent bonds. Unlike irreversible
inhibitors, reversible inhibitors do not have chemical reaction and can be broken down easily by
methods such as dilution (shpanskaya ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the amount of energy needed to pump blood around the body and can cause high blood pressure.
This can be dangerous for the heart if it had been weakened by heart attack. By blocking the

Within this novel, our main character is the scientist Victor Frankenstein. His curiosity and will to

Movie Adaptations In The Odyssey
Book to movie adaptations have been an increasingly popular style of film. Many believe that the
integrity of book to movie adaptations are lost when films are not exact replicas of the book.
However, adaptations are a form of interpretation that involve some means of redesigning and
reconstruction to convert them into a different art form. In this paper I will argue the reasons why
I agree with the claim that O, Brother Where Art Thou is based on the epic The Odyssey. The basic
premise of The Odyssey is Odysseusjourney back home. After the Trojan Warand battling many

The Odyssey, the blind person is the prophet, Tiresias, who guides him on the future of his

In the end it brought the Civil War to the United States.
Historians have traditionally labeled the period after the War of 1812 the Era of good feelings .
Although Nationalism did exist between regions of the United States, this was just a façade.
Underneath this so called nationalism there was a great deal of regionalism also known as
sectionalism. Due to this great amount of sectionalism, the different way of living, the beliefs of
tariffs and slavery brought the country to divide.
There existed nationalism during The Era of Good Feelings . During the 4th of July everybody
celebrated as a nation the Independence of the United States (Document C). Artists like John
Krimmel painted art work showing how happy the United States celebrated the Independence. He
showed salves and salve owners all together celebrating this important feast. This way he showed
how the United States were all together celebrating the Nation s victory as a whole.
Although the United states did expressed Nationalism in some ways, all this was forgotten when
the country stated to divided it self into different sections with different believes. One of the great
differences between these sections was tariffs. Hohn Randolph of congress said in 1816, With my

was able to defend the homeland and support the United State s foreign relations through his
passing of the Neutrality Proclamation, Jay s Treaty, and the Treaty of Tripoli. Many historians
would argue that Thomas Jeffersonmade strides in advancing the nation much further through his
accomplishment of acquiring the Louisiana Territory. Although neither president perfectly
accomplished all goals they set out to complete, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson single
handedly accomplished, shaped, and developed the nation through treaties and foreign relations far
more than any other pair of presidents during their terms as president. Both George Washington and
Thomas Jefferson developed many treaties during their terms as president, but each had one treaty
that made them stand out from other presidents to make them superior Chief Diplomats. For
Thomas Jefferson this treaty is clearly the Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana Purchase nearly
doubled the size of the United States, provided land for American

The Theme Of Lessing s The Grass Is Singing
Lessing s first novel The Grass is Singing exemplifies the imperial of the English idea of home
/land as it prevails in the colony. British settlers in Post World War I South Africa, Not only
identified imperial England as home but also sought to replicate on the African veldt the domestic
ideal that in turn became a sign of white privilege (Tseng 159). Lessing s identification with the
mother country is mediated through her gendered experience of colonial life. The Grass is Singing
in Doris Lessing s own experiences on African lands. Lessing identifies with her mother country
while she indirectly challenges Englishness.

Essay on Thousand Acres
A Thousand Acres, by Jane Smiley, is a story of incest, ignorance, and the
imperialistic voice of the almighty man. Ignorance of being lead by a man, particular
views of Rose and Ginny, and domesticated to believe that quot; When we are good girls and
accept our circumstances, we re glad about it. . .When we are bad girls, it drives us
crazy quot; (99). The imperialistic voice usually comes from the omnipotent Larry Cook, Rose,
Ginny, and Caroline s father. And the incestuous relations only entangle this
dysfunctional family. The eldest daughter, Ginny, is the most loyal and idolizes her
father. The second eldest daughter, Rose, is linked to her father through Ginny, who keeps
her from losing faith in him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ty has much respect
for Larry as Larry does him. This is because Ty s background showed proper history Ty s
dad, whom had inherited the extra farm that Ty had farmed for six years (12). His good
manners were also a favorable aspect with Larry. Ty also shares some of the same views as
Larry. Pete on the other hand, was not as well liked by Larry as Ty was. The feeling
seemed to be mutual, but because of the marital connections they remained amicable to one
another. And often used Ty as a mediator for disagreements. With the Cookfarm transfer
negotiations still pending, preparations were made to expand the farm s operations and
make a profit. Initially, the transfer has the Cook family on edge. The whole transfer
idea was Larry s. His character simply gleams rays of control to all those around. Even
when he announces his plan, at a party of all places, Larry positions himself at the
center of the circle of family members. As he boldly pronounces, We re going to form a
corporation...you girls are going to have shares...we re going to build this new
Slurrystore, and maybe a Harveststore, too, and enlarge the hog operation (18). At this
point, the decision seems to be made. Nowhere within his declaration does he say Would

Theme Of Women In The Bluest Eye
In the end, the men are afraid of death, that it was they are most fearful of. By choosing death,
not only is she finally making a choice in her life, but she is finally gaining power over the kings,
princes and rulers which she always wished to, because she is doing what they fear most.
Women have little to no choice in their lives, society and systems within it, make decisions for
most women, like Firdaus. By taking away a woman s ability to choose, it is oppressing her. If you
have a voice, you have power, which is why there is a power struggle of this proportion among
women, because their voice is stolen from them.
The Bluest Eye. To complicate Firdaus story, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrisontells the story of
another girl s life. Pecola was born and raised a poor, powerless, Black girl. Her power struggle
is different, it is more internalized. Pecola grew up in an abusive household, where she
witnessed her father s power over her mother. When she was still just a child, her father raped
her. In this way he was able to gain power over Pecola as well. She learned from a young age that
Black meant ugly, which in turn meant powerless. Whereas white was beautiful and powerful.
This can be demonstrated by Pecola s interest in a cup that had Shirley Temple s face on it, which
is highly symbolic within the text, We knew she was fond of the Shirley Temple cup and took
every opportunity to drink milk out of it just to handle sweet Shirley s face (Morrison 23). Pecola

The Purpose Of A Motion Brief
1.The purpose of a motion brief is two fold. A motion brief needs to be both educating and
persuasive. Simply put, as an attorney, you are an advocate for your client. In short, you want to
set out the applicable law and the facts of the case for the judge to take a particular action in your
case in your motionbrief to be effective in your motion.
2.Generally speaking, there are many legal sources to check before drafting and filing a motion
brief. Accordingly, when drafting a motion brief the first step would be to generate a list of search
terms. In addition, you can start by first start reading secondary sources, to obtain background
information on a topic of law which is pertinent to your brief. Afterwards, you would look at
controlling statutes, or constitutional provisions to find controlling cases. Once you find legal
authority to support your brief, you would want to shepardize to verify that the legal authority has
not been repealed, reversed or otherwise changed. Next, shepardize using Case maker, Lexis Nexis,
or even Westlaw. Finally, once your research is complete, you can begin writing your brief.
Furthermore, equally important when drafting your motion brief is checking the rules of the Court
that you are filing in.
3.In both a motion brief and a formal memo you would include an issue statement (legal question)
to identify the applicable law in question. Unlike a motion brief to the Court, where you would
need to be both educative and persuasive;

Osteoporosis Malady And Its Counteractive Action
ntroduction
As per World Health Organization (2004), osteoporosis is an illness that influences the casualty s
bones making them diminish in their thickness and be more powerless against crack. It has been
turned out to be specifically identified with the mass of bones that an individual figures out how to
accomplish amid both his/her adolescence and pre adult phases of life. Specialists have kept on
stressing the preventive way to deal with this sickness urging folks to guarantee that their
youngsters hone sound propensities which, as they accentuate, can actually lead them to breaking
their bones amid later phases of life. Such an awesome accentuation is put significantly in light of
the fact that the ailment has no cure. This review presents research discoveries on osteoporosis
malady and its counteractive action beginning from right on time youth.
As indicated by Lucas (2006), bones shape the system which permits the development of any kid.
He takes note of that bones, as living tissues, tend to change and that at whatever point this is
going on, specific bones are supplanted by the recently created ones. In his outline, he clarifies that
amid the two early phases of life, that is youth and immaturity, there is a bigger number of bones
being saved with the development of the skeleton than those which are being framed. He takes note
of that the kid s bone mass regularly increments till the kid achieves his/her 20s. As of right now,
the singular s bones accomplish

Essay On A Quilt Of A Country By Nadine Gordimer
A quilt of a country is an essay about the idea that every man in the united states is created equal.
Anna Quindlen says that the united states is like a huge quilt. That means that it is full of many
different crazy people who come together as one when it matters. Also this means if our country is
in danger like on 9/11 the people of the united states no matter what racehelp each other. Also in the
text she compares America to a mongrel what she means by this is that
America is full of all different people from all different races and people who are of two races. I
believe that the United States is better as a mixed nation with all different races.

Before the heron her father didn t show affection to her or his job. I do believe that symbols are an
important part of a person s life and can be seen everywhere.
What all these stories have in common is they all talk about something that is seen in our
everyday lives. The first story talks about how America is a nation full of all different people
from all different races. She refers to our nation as a mongrel of a nation meaning it is full of
mixed people. The second story talks about slavery in africa and how it affected her. You can
still see forms of slavery in today s society like in china were the kids work in horrible conditions
for little pay. Lastly the third story talks about symbolism and how a dad needed to pay more
attention to his daughter. You can see symbols all over the world in many different shapes, sizes,
and forms.
In conclusion i believe that all of these stories are important in their own way. Also i believe that
these points need to be solved before we can move on. Child slavery in china is a huge problem
that needs to be resolved. Also neglective parents need to be talked to about what they are doing to
their child. Lastly people need to learn to accept the fact that the united states is a mongrel country

Abraham was born a poor farmhand boy in Kentucky, but he moved from small cabins in
Kentucky, Indiana, and finally settled in Illinois. He was a farmhand for his father in these states

Lincoln got his first dose of slavery at the age of eighteen when he was hired to take a flatboat

When the Kansas Nebraska Act repealed the Missouri Compromise by allowing slavery in the

Lincoln spoke harshly against slavery, even going so far as to call it a cancer . In 1856 Lincoln
switched to the Republican Party solely because the Whigs couldn t be absolutely against
slavery as a party, while the Republicans strongly disfavored slavery. In 1858 Lincoln fought

saying, I am not in favor of Negro equality . At this point in his life Lincoln was a leading

Patience Between Caesar And Pompey The Sole Consul
Patience between Caesar and Pompey continued to wear thin, beginning with the dissolution of
the Triumvirate; the three leaders, Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus. Tensions continued to strain
when the senate appointed Pompey the Sole Consul. Appointing Pompey the Sole Consul was
not meant to offend or outrage Caesar, but soon it would become a matter of great importance.
The city had been distracted by frequent street fights between the armed bands of Clodius, a

The Reflection Of Ludwig Van Beethoven And Beethoven s...
When one thinks of the most influential composers of the Classical period, who comes to mind? To
name a few, most individuals would state Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. All three of these men
made great contributions to Classical music. However, Beethoven s Ninth Symphony was
considered one of the greatest works of Classical musicby both complying to and stretching the
norms of the era. Not only did Beethoven represent the formal ideals of the era, but he also opened
the era to new possibilities of freedom.
A symphony is a musical composition for an orchestra, it employs several movements. This music
is usually disciplined and lengthy. The word symphГµnia is of Greek origin meaning notes
sounding together. It often indicated ensemble music in the 16th century. Symphonies for
instruments only arose in the Baroque period (Libin, LE). At this point in time someone usually
conducted, but not in the same manner we see today. The symphony genre that is displayed in
Beethoven s Ninth is the product of the classical period. The strings were then imperative and each
instrument carried its own language. In addition to this, orchestras were gaining size and sounds
were changing. Currently, the orchestra is experiencing freedom. The sections are interchangeable
with size, so it changes to the composers liking ( A Short History of the Symphony Orchestra ).
Ludwig van Beethoven composed the Ninth Symphony, even though he was deaf at the time. Many
individuals thought that he could not

As the American Industrial Revolution began in the first half of the 19th century, girls as young
as five left their farm homes to find work, personal independence and adventure. There were
good jobs in New England mills. The mill girls of Lowell, MA, became an integral part of the
social and economic changes underway. They helped shape mill rules, protested actively for fair
wages, improved working conditions and secured shorter hours. They helped establish women s
employment possibilities. Their actions during this time established a strong legacy and serve as a

Work hours were long (generally 70 or more hours each week). The workplace was hot and dirty
( Lowell Mill Girls ). Work was hard, tedious and sometimes dangerous. There were reports of
falls, metal object projectiles striking workers, parts of hands damaged or lost in machinery and
bales of cotton falling on workers ( The Mill Girls; Alexaraeburk; McCabe 70). Living
conditions were generally considered tolerable (Wright 11) and offered a certain degree of
normalcy, a sense of community and gender solidarity (Alexaraeburk). Wages for women were
considered very good for this time in U.S. history. Unfortunately, their $1.75 to $3 each week
was about half of the rate men in the mill received (McCabe 36). Despite these circumstances,
visiting dignitaries admired the paternalism mill owners showed to the mill girls and also the
quality of the Mill Girls work and diligence trying to improve their position and prospects in life.
British visitors were surprised to see the majority of the workers were women and their personal
appearance and demeanor were so much better than the girls working in English factories.
Interestingly, the visitors generally observed the Lowell mill girls were so infinitely superior as to
make a stranger immediately perceive that some very large cause must have created the difference.
The visitors admired the environment and attitude of both workers and owners who, in their
judgment, were pursuing higher goals

The Allegorical Messages of The Divine Comedy by Dante...
The beginning lines of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri indicate a pragmatic journey
through the dark woods. It is soon evident that The Divine Comedy is in terms of an allegory.
Midway through his life, Dante finds himself lost and in darkness. He is confused and unaware of
how he has ended up in these dark woods. Dante soon comes across Italian poet Virgil, who will
guide him through the Nine Circles of Hell. Dante Alighieris The Divine Comedy: Inferno portrays
Dante s life and adventure through Hell which allegorically represents a much broader subject: man
s journey through life to salvation.
The Divine Comedy: Inferno begins when Dante is midway through life and he has lost his way.
In the starting lines, Dante claims, Midway in our life s journey, I went astray From the straight
road and woke To find myself Alone in a dark wood. Dante declares that he has strayed away from
the straight road. In Dante s allegory, the straight road symbolizes the right and virtuous path that
leads to God. Mankind must be constantly seeking morality, and once man begins to lose sight of
this righteousness, they will begin to abandon God s honest path. In order to remain on the right
path, man must carefully strive for virtue and be aware of their sins.
Not knowing how he wandered away from the straight road, Dante finds himself in an eerie, dark
wood. In Dante s Inferno, this dark wood allegorically resembles the people of mankind who are
not consciously aware of

Although, this was before work days became too long forcing physical activity time to suffer,

to today where they have an increase in obesity like everywhere else, but not as obvious due to

Mediterranean diet, we can see which components are responsible for why its mortality statistics
of the area s population were living longer than other populations around the world, including
other europeans. To start, olive oil is a rich source of monounsaturated fat, which is protective
against heart disease and replaces saturated fat from the eating habits. Olive oil is also a source
of antioxidants including vitamin E. The high intake of fresh fruit and vegetables has been
shown to be protective against both heart disease and cancer because of the antioxidants they
contain. Also, Fish are a source of omega 3 polyunsaturated fats and the complex long chain
derivatives of these fats appear to be particularly beneficial to heart health because of the anti
inflammatory of the arteries which leads to a decrease in blood pressure keeping the blood
flowing smoothly. The Mediterranean diet is filled with a multiplicity of benefits for the body. For

Theories Surrounding The Development Of One s Gender Identity
There are numerous theories regarding the development of one s gender identity. Gender identity
refers how one identifies as either male, female or transgender.
Lawrence Kohlberg developed the Cognitive Developmental Theory, a three stage theory that
suggests that children that has the ability and go through a process before making a cognitive
process concerning their gender identity. This theory includes: (1) Gender Labeling a child can
recognize than he or she is male or female by age 3 but they fail to recognize that gender is stable
and constant throughout the lifespan. (For example, a child may realize that he is a male but may
think he can grow up to be amother.) (2) Gender Stability a child understands that their gender is

Climate Change Is An Important Issue That Concerns Humanity
Climate change is an important issue that concerns humanity. Climate change refers to an increase
in average global temperatures. Every day, the enhanced greenhouse effect continues to advance,
which significantly influences Earth s long term climate. In addition, human activity is also
contributing to the increase of global warmingand is already leading to harmful consequences.
Some people believe that global warming is not occurring and the heating of the globe, is just a
part of the Earth s natural cycle. Several consequences such as, ice caps melting, show us that
global warming is in fact occurring. Therefore, we should start making changes in order to reduce
future damages to the Earth.
The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is one of the many reasons why global warming is occurring.
Heat that is being trapped by the Earth s surface is known as the natural greenhouse effect.
However, throughout the last decades since the Industrial Revolution, the natural greenhouse effect
has been disrupted due to greenhouse gas trapping too much heat in the Earth s atmosphere. The
enhanced greenhouse gas effect is the extra heating of the Earth s atmosphere caused by increased
levels of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere. According to
Cheryl Jakabs, carbon dioxide levels are now 100 parts per million higher than the beginning of the
1800s. Furthermore, this increase of greenhouse gases may lead to an increase of natural disasters.

Essay Problems with Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide
Euthanasia Problems
Doctors do err on cancer patients survival times, so how can they say when the time is ripe for
assisted suicide. A study in the July 1 issue of Cancer, the journal of the American Cancer Society,
finds that doctors are often wrong in predicting how long terminally ill cancer patients will live.
After studying the accuracy of doctors predictions regarding 233 patients with end of life cancer,
the researchers found most doctors had a tendency to overestimate survival time. But among
patients who lived longer than six months, 40% had been expected to die sooner. The results are
relevant to decisions to refer patients to hospice care and also to decisions for assisted suicide,
which in Oregon can only be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hemlock s newsletter commented that the younger the person, the more likely he or she is to favor
this legislation. The newsletter added that this is somewhat at odds with how Hemlock views its
membership, since it sees itself as defending the interests of elderly citizens. (Humphry; Poll 9) A
study of cancer patients found that terminally ill patients experiencing significant pain are more
opposed to physician assisted suicide than other terminally ill patients or the general public. The
patients who did tend to favor assisted suicide were those who had been diagnosed with clinical
depression. The researchers commented: Patients with pain do not seem to view euthanasia or
physician assisted suicide as the appropriate response to poor pain management. Indeed, oncology
patients in pain may be suspicious that if euthanasia or physician assisted suicide are legalized, the
medical care system may not focus sufficient resources on provision of pain relief and palliative
care (Emanuel 1809)
* Researchers at Duke University recently surveyed hundreds of frail elderly patients receiving
outpatient treatment and their families. The elderly patients themselves strongly opposed physician
assisted suicide: only 34% favored legalization, with support even lower among female and black
patients. But 56% of their younger relatives favored it, and they were usually wrong in predicting
the elderly patients views.

The Male Gaze
The Male Gaze . In 1975, feminist film critic Laura Mulvey in her 1975 essay entitled Visual
Pleasure and Narrative Cinema defined a new phrase the Male Gaze . Mulvey explained the
phrase as a filter that is placed onto various mediums such as film that depict the world and
women from a masculine point of view and in terms of men s male dominance over women . This
gazeaccording to Mulvey, sexualizes and objectifies the woman . The male gaze also affects how
women see themselves and how they act in public.
The male gaze consists of three different gazes:
That of the person behind the camera, That of the characters within the representation or the film

Plurality Voting And Voting System
We often hear people saying that they re going to vote for someone they don t really like, because
he/she is the lesser of two evils . (Ossipoff) Many take the United States voting system with an it is
what it is attitude, assuming it could be no better. This is certainly not the case. The United States
uses what is known as plurality voting, meaning the candidate with the largest percentage of votes
wins. This is also a winner takes all system, where losers of the election receive no representation.
This leads voters to compromise, not selecting their favorite because they believe him/her to be
unviable, and ultimately selecting somebody they don t like (Ossipoff). Plurality voting results in
high amounts of wasted votes, making... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suppose that two districts of equal population are voting to elect 1 representative each. Suppose
further that in District A, the winning candidate receives 90% of the votes, while in District B,
the winner receives only 51%. In District A, 39% of the votes for the winner (all excess after
reaching 51%) had no effect on the outcome, as that candidate would have won either way. In
District B, no winning votes are wasted. However, in both cases, the same amount of
representation is awarded. In essence, 39% of the winning voters in District A are not being
represented. Similarly, all votes to the losing candidate are wasted their desires are in no way
reflected in the result of the election. In any two person race, 49% of voters do not receive any
representation for their vote. With more candidates, often more than 50% of votes are wasted.
Voters do not fail to see this, and it affects their desire to vote (Amy). If natural wasting of votes
isn t bad enough, politicians currently holding office grossly manipulate the voting districts to
artificially create wasted votes in a strategy known as gerrymandering. Two types of
gerrymandering are most common; cracking and packing. In cracking, politicians redraw voting
boundaries to spread out the votes that oppose them such that in all districts, they hold a minority,
effectively forcing all their votes to be wasted. Similarly, in packing, boundaries are redrawn

Dream Interpretation For Beginners Summary
A person opens their eyes and realizes that they are are on a gigantic chocolate chip cookie boat,
flowing down a warm, white, milky river. When the person looks all around from the milky
river, the person sees mountains that are made of ice cream and are topped with whipped cream
and cherries on top. They are in paradise. They awake to a loud sound, and as the milky river and
ice cream mountains fade away, they realize it was all just a dream. Dreams are a series of
thoughts, images and sensations that occur in a person s mind when they are sleep. Peoples views
on dreamingtoday are similar yet different in a way, from what people believed back then. Sigmund
Freuds beliefs and theories were believed by many people, including one of his theories called day

as the sleeping and dreaming structure, rapid eye movement sleep, and non rapid eye movement

what we have learned or done the day of or the day before. For example, if a student is reading a
certain novel and learning about events from it, that student might have a dream regarding what
he or she is reading or learning about. On a different subject, dreams can play out the final scene
of our problems during the day while we sleep. They can do this by processing all of the emotions

Crumple Zone Research Papers
A crumple zone is a very important part of a car. Without crumple zones there would be a higher
risk of someone dying or getting seriously hurt when involved in a car accident. Before this term
I didn t have a great knowledge on how important crumple zones actually were, how they worked
or the different types. In class Mr Window showed us some educational videos about crumple
zones and the part that I found the most interesting was when they did an egg throw. The
scientist whom was doing this experiment threw an egg at a brick wall and another egg at a soft
sheet. It showed us the different impacts on the egg and he explained how when the egg hits the
sheet it kept moving just like a person would if they were in a car crash and didn t have a seat
belt on (http://www.iihs.org/iihs/videos). I found it fascinating and couldn t wait to learn more.

When someone crashes a car into a wall the car pushes against the wall and the wall pushes back
at the car. The formulas I used in our experiment include: Gravitation Potential Energy
(GPE=MGH), Force (F=GPEГ·D) and acceleration (A=FГ·M). The GPE depends on the energy
stored in the height of an object, as an example if a heavy object was placed high up, a force is
likely to be holding the object up there, the GPE also helps us work out aspects of other
formulas. A force is a push or a pull, which is measured in Newtons (N), by working out the force
we could find out how many newtons were pushing against the car. Using the force formula I was
able to then go on and calculate the acceleration. The acceleration allowed us to see how far the
cart moved and at what rate, the acceleration is calculated in

Place relates to Major League Soccer in terms of location of each teams stadium. This is key in all
sports, teams must locate themselves in places where they will be able to attract fans to attend
their matches at high rates. Teams like Atlanta United F.C. and the Seattle Sounders have placed
themselves in prime locations to succeed. They both have done a great job with perfecting where
they play to help increase attendance to their games. While the MLS average attendance per match
is a mere 21,823, Seattle have averaged 42,892 and Atlanta have averaged 46,721 per match. These
two teams aren t even in first place in their conference, but they were able to place themselves in
locations that are effective for them to record these much higher averages of attendance.
c. Rank the four in order of importance to your product. Explain your rankings.
Promotion Promotion is going to be the most important aspect of our product since there is
currently not enough marketing of MLS. You can find an advertisement for the NFL on almost any
channel but you will rarely see a commercial or promotion for major league soccer.
Product The MLS has recently been lacking competition. There tends to be a handful of teams that
compete for the top spots and then the rest of the league, who battle for the bottom ranks. These top
teams garner the most attention and fan base while the other teams struggle to keep fans interested.

The Use Of Darkness In The Night By Arthur Miller
Darkness is hardly ever seen as a positive entity. Children are taught to fear the dark, that
monsters lie in the absence of light. Darkness is a powerful image that authors use to their
advantage in building up the scene and mood within their writing. Arthur Miller is no exception.
He uses the contrast of dark and light to build up suspense and mood. He is also able to
foreshadow the upcoming events with the use of night. To start, the play opens up with the
scene of Paris accusing Abigail of being in the woods late in the night, [ find quote] This use of
darkness symbolizes the sinister act of witchcraft. The effect of these actions results in Betty
lying in bed, sick. She supposedly cannot move and is despondent. She s been like this since
midnight, Then why can she not move herself since midnight? (pg.10) It s almost as if the
bleeding darkness is also at fault for Betty s illness, that it isn t just witchcraft that ails her.
Darkness is further diminished when the image of light comes to make an appearance. In the
play, light is seen as something holy. Hale equates light to God s holiness and sees it as a way to
purify Tituba, ... open yourself and let God s holy light shine on you. (pg.45) In addition, the dark
also is a foreshadowing element. In the beginning of Act II, the scene is set at the Proctor s house
in the night. What keeps you so late? It s almost dark. (pg.49) The mood between the two
characters, John Proctor and his wife, Elizabeth is harsh,

  • 2. Why Baseball Is Important To Me Research Paper Baseball is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. I love how I feel at home when I walk onto the field. I always play the same position, second base,it is my favorite position to play.I love when the ball is hit to me and I can scoop it up and throw it to first. When we get three outs, we go to bat and I hit pretty good most of the time. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and coach normally tells me to hit away.I ... • 3. Ted Talk By Elizabeth Loftus My topic of interest is in memory; to be more exact it s on the phenomenon of false memory. False memories are memories someone remembers but in truly did not occur or happened in the way remembered. I was interested in the topic truthfully because I watch a lot of SUV on TV, and while the cases may not be real I feel like people do have scenarios similar to the cases. There was one episode in which a rape victim had identified the person she believed had attacked her, with so much certainty she KNEW it was he. Needless to say, it had turned out she mistook the person who attacked her with someone who had similar features. In a Ted Talk by Elizabeth Loftus she states examples of people going to psychotherapy, and then they d come out having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The History of the Modern Piano The History of the Modern Piano Pianos have been around for about three millenniums, and have been redesigned hundreds if not thousands of times! What has kept this instrument, this form of expressing deep feeling, so entwined with its owner and all those who hear it? The piano has been around for such a lengthy period of time that it is described to have an epoch, or an age, which represents its climb into fame and ends just before the current depression it s going through. This is known as, The Age of the Piano(Bellis, About). There are many types of pianos that can be divided into groups. The spinet piano, the console piano, and the studio piano are a few examples of these. These are called vertical pianos, because they focus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His first attempt, in 1720, was successful, in the goals he was trying to accomplish, but the music was soft and the keys were too hard to push down. We still adopt his system of 88 piano keys to create music. Some of his original pianos still exist today in the world. There are currently ten that are still kept in museums (Natural History, 5). The piano was first designed without a strong system of plucking the strings. This initially made the first couple attempts a failure, but some German inventors got together and developed a better system of making intricate sounds (with deep and light feeling) with hammers (The Piano, 6). These depths allowed for the expression of romanticism and emotion. The piano was invented, because the harpsichord was unable of creating depths (Bellis, About). It was made because of a want or need for music and feeling. Pianos, today, are still used in creating music and beats which are enjoyed by the people who listen to these sounds. The piano has been a part of creating, playing, and enjoying music for a long time, but is losing demand. People have been trying to come up with different methods of creating sound, of playing sound, and of listening to these two ingredients of sound mixed together to create a ... It is safe to say that they are to surrender their security? Is it accurate to say that they are to be dealt with as though they are blameworthy of having firearms and medications? I feel certain they would preferably be sheltered from a shooter s point than be absolutely powerless. I am sure, in any case, that inclusion in extracurricular exercises that transcend social factions would make the likelihood of understudies viciously completing their fury essentially more improbable than having their lockers sought aimlessly. Savagery aside, it is likewise certain to me that youngsters who do as they are told ought not be looted of pride and security for the far fetched possibility of other kids being incidentally frustrated in their way of self annihilation by the utilization of weapons or medications. As should be obvious, arbitrary locker pursuits are not the response to making our schools safe, and to pay somebody to do the seeking would misuse both assets and opportunity. While a sentiment security, which weapons and medications encroach upon, is fundamental in our schools, I don t trust that it can be accomplished by irregular locker seeks. • 10. The French Hip Hop History Melanie Georgiades, more commonly referred to as Diam s, played a major role in the French hip hop history due to her highly controversial music and challenging feminism brought out in a world of machismo. Born in Cyprus in 1980, Diam s was an only child raised by a single mother in France, in the suburbs of Orsay. Growing up Diam s was heavily inspired by French mainstream music: specifically rap and pop. Most notably among the musicians that inspired Diam s are Supreme NTM and Public Enemy; similarities between the musicians can be heard in their music. The importance behind Diam s music extends far beyond the scope of female empowerment. While Diam s did play a prominent role in advancing feminist ideas in what has always been a largely male dominated rap culture, she also challenged many societal norms, especially in the Francophone world. By combining new styles with controversial messages Diam s established herself as a true hip hop artist, and did so successfully. Diam s created a plethora of well liked and popular musical albums throughout her time as a successful artist from the mid 1990s to mid 2000s. These included SOS, Dans Ma Bulle, and Brut De Femme. The content within these albums were directly influenced by her outlook of the culture that she grew up in, and since her career was started at the mere age of fifteen, youthful ingenuity was added to her cause. This lyrical honesty boosted Diam s into position of France s most popular female rapper which gave ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to various sources, beauty ideals, in women especially, are socially constructed in order to judge a person s value based on physical attractiveness; therefore, it is highly encouraged that people pay attention to their looks and take care of themselves, in order for others to create a positive first impression of one s character. It is no secret that beauty standards vary from one culture to the next and it is difficult to establish a universal principle of what is considered beautiful. It is not uncommon that you ll hear Puerto Ricans refer to themselves as the mutts of the Spanish community, this is because of the island s history. Soon after Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1493, it became known as the rich port for the Spanish or Puerto Rico, due to the fact that it produced mass amounts of cattle, sugar cane, tobacco, and coffee, especially considering the island s size. Such prosperity and wealth opened the door for the slave trade to enter the colony, and as a result Puerto Rican bloodlines and cultures evolved not only from the Spanish, but also from Africans, and indigenous TaГno and Carib people ( Puerto Rico History and Heritage ). In addition, over the centuries many failed attempts where made by the French, Dutch, and English to conquer the island which even further changed the bloodlines. Of course, as history has it, at the end of the Spanish American war in 1898, the Treaty of Paris declared the the Spanish would surrender Puerto Rico to the United States, therefore infiltrating American culture and beauty ideals. The democratic leadership style is more of a participative type of leadership (Schoell, et al 286). It is a two way communication leadership, in which employees are allowed to contribute in the decision making; however, the manager makes the final decision. The delegation of authority in this style of leadership is less centralized and more decentralized than in the autocratic style. Employees feel more flexible, since they are allowed to modify in the methods of accomplishing the tasks and to contribute in the decision making. This changes the working environment; making it an environment with a lot of team working, where each employee feels that he plays an essential role in the well being of the business (Bovee, et al 476 8). The free reign style of leadership is the most lenient style, in which the employees have the complete freedom by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Jude And Sue In Grapes Of Wrath People often make mistakes that they eventually come to regret. Simultaneously, there would be someone close to that person that would want them to be in a happier state than the one they are currently in. This is evident through the nature and predicament of the characters Jude and Sue in the passage; Sue is unhappy because she regrets getting married, and Jude wishes that she was happier and her misery would end. The nature and predicament of the characters are portrayed through the literary elements that are present in the story. The nature and predicament of Jude and Sue are revealed in the passage through the use of diction, tone, choice of detail, and symbolism. Notably, the use of symbolism in the story can be found through Jude s act of putting the rabbit out of his misery from the trap, which symbolizes Jude s wishing for Sue to be put out of her misery. In addition, the rabbit being trapped in the gin symbolizes the agony that Sue is enduring from being trapped in her unwanted marriage. For example, in lines 11 through 13, stating, If it were a bad catch by the hind leg, the animal would tug during the ensuing six hours till the iron teeth of the trap had stripped the leg bone of its flesh, when, should a weak springed instrument enable it to escape, it would die in the field from mortification of the limb. This quote explains the aftermath of what would be considered a bad catch of the rabbit by the trap, as it would struggle to escape and fail to do so. As the rabbit being trapped represents Sue being hopelessly trapped in her marriage, this symbolizes that there is no escape from her marriage, as Sue feels she should be allowed to correct the major mistake she had made. Since Jude put the rabbit out of its suffering, this also symbolizes the suffering that he wants to end for Sue, as she suffers from her marriage that she would find relief from ending. Moving on, the use of symbolism through the rabbit can be found in lines 19 through 21, which states The faint click of the trap as dragged about by the writhing animal guided him now, and reaching the spot he struck the rabbit on the back of the neck with the side of his palm, and it stretched itself out dead. This quote refers to when Jude went out to kill the rabbit in order to end its suffering while it was struggling to escape the trap in agonizing pain. Additionally, this symbolizes Jude s desire for Sue to be relieved from her regret and agony of her undesirable marriage, as Jude feels that Sue should not have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Benefits Of Irreversible Enzyme Inhibitors Enzyme inhibitors are molecules that bind to enzymes to decrease their activity. Many drugs are enzyme inhibitors because by blocking the enzymes activity it can kill pathogens (shpanskaya and Melechko, 2008) Enzyme inhibitors assist in altering the catalytic action of an enzyme in order to slow down or stop catalysis (Worthington biochemical corporation, 2015). Inhabitation can either be reversible or irreversible. During irreversible inhabitation the inhibitor detaches slowly from its targeted enzyme as it is tightly bound to the enzyme by covalent or noncovalent bonds. Important drugs such as penicillin are irreversible inhibitors. The penicillin covalently modifies the enzyme transpeptidase which prevents synthesis of bacterial cell walls consequently killing off the bacteria (Biochemistry, 2002) As opposed to irreversible inhibition, reversible inhibition is a rapid detachment of the enzyme inhibitor because the inhibitors bind to the enzymes with non covalent bonds. Unlike irreversible inhibitors, reversible inhibitors do not have chemical reaction and can be broken down easily by methods such as dilution (shpanskaya ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compare And Contrast Thomas Jefferson And George Washington Chief Diplomat is defined as a leader who oversees, creates, and executes foreign relations and policies between the United States and other countries. The two most influential Chief Diplomats the US has ever had were George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. George Washington thrusted into the presidency by unanimous vote of the electoral college. Throughout his presidency, George Washington developed the country further than any president who would follow did. Washington was able to defend the homeland and support the United State s foreign relations through his passing of the Neutrality Proclamation, Jay s Treaty, and the Treaty of Tripoli. Many historians would argue that Thomas Jeffersonmade strides in advancing the nation much further through his accomplishment of acquiring the Louisiana Territory. Although neither president perfectly accomplished all goals they set out to complete, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson single handedly accomplished, shaped, and developed the nation through treaties and foreign relations far more than any other pair of presidents during their terms as president. Both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson developed many treaties during their terms as president, but each had one treaty that made them stand out from other presidents to make them superior Chief Diplomats. Accordingly, when drafting a motion brief the first step would be to generate a list of search terms. In addition, you can start by first start reading secondary sources, to obtain background information on a topic of law which is pertinent to your brief. Afterwards, you would look at controlling statutes, or constitutional provisions to find controlling cases. Once you find legal authority to support your brief, you would want to shepardize to verify that the legal authority has not been repealed, reversed or otherwise changed. Next, shepardize using Case maker, Lexis Nexis, or even Westlaw. Finally, once your research is complete, you can begin writing your brief. Furthermore, equally important when drafting your motion brief is checking the rules of the Court that you are filing in. 3.In both a motion brief and a formal memo you would include an issue statement (legal question) to identify the applicable law in question. To name a few, most individuals would state Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. All three of these men made great contributions to Classical music. However, Beethoven s Ninth Symphony was considered one of the greatest works of Classical musicby both complying to and stretching the norms of the era. Not only did Beethoven represent the formal ideals of the era, but he also opened the era to new possibilities of freedom. A symphony is a musical composition for an orchestra, it employs several movements. This music is usually disciplined and lengthy. The word symphГµnia is of Greek origin meaning notes sounding together. It often indicated ensemble music in the 16th century. Symphonies for instruments only arose in the Baroque period (Libin, LE). At this point in time someone usually conducted, but not in the same manner we see today. The symphony genre that is displayed in Beethoven s Ninth is the product of the classical period. The strings were then imperative and each instrument carried its own language. In addition to this, orchestras were gaining size and sounds were changing. Currently, the orchestra is experiencing freedom. The sections are interchangeable with size, so it changes to the composers liking ( A Short History of the Symphony Orchestra ). It is soon evident that The Divine Comedy is in terms of an allegory. Midway through his life, Dante finds himself lost and in darkness. He is confused and unaware of how he has ended up in these dark woods. Dante soon comes across Italian poet Virgil, who will guide him through the Nine Circles of Hell. Dante Alighieris The Divine Comedy: Inferno portrays Dante s life and adventure through Hell which allegorically represents a much broader subject: man s journey through life to salvation. The Divine Comedy: Inferno begins when Dante is midway through life and he has lost his way. In the starting lines, Dante claims, Midway in our life s journey, I went astray From the straight road and woke To find myself Alone in a dark wood. Dante declares that he has strayed away from the straight road. In Dante s allegory, the straight road symbolizes the right and virtuous path that leads to God. Mankind must be constantly seeking morality, and once man begins to lose sight of this righteousness, they will begin to abandon God s honest path. In order to remain on the right path, man must carefully strive for virtue and be aware of their sins. Every day, the enhanced greenhouse effect continues to advance, which significantly influences Earth s long term climate. In addition, human activity is also contributing to the increase of global warmingand is already leading to harmful consequences. Some people believe that global warming is not occurring and the heating of the globe, is just a part of the Earth s natural cycle. Several consequences such as, ice caps melting, show us that global warming is in fact occurring. Therefore, we should start making changes in order to reduce future damages to the Earth. The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is one of the many reasons why global warming is occurring. Heat that is being trapped by the Earth s surface is known as the natural greenhouse effect. However, throughout the last decades since the Industrial Revolution, the natural greenhouse effect has been disrupted due to greenhouse gas trapping too much heat in the Earth s atmosphere. The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is the extra heating of the Earth s atmosphere caused by increased levels of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere. According to Cheryl Jakabs, carbon dioxide levels are now 100 parts per million higher than the beginning of the 1800s. The United States uses what is known as plurality voting, meaning the candidate with the largest percentage of votes wins. However, in both cases, the same amount of representation is awarded. In essence, 39% of the winning voters in District A are not being represented. Similarly, all votes to the losing candidate are wasted their desires are in no way reflected in the result of the election. In any two person race, 49% of voters do not receive any representation for their vote. With more candidates, often more than 50% of votes are wasted. These two teams aren t even in first place in their conference, but they were able to place themselves in locations that are effective for them to record these much higher averages of attendance. c. Rank the four in order of importance to your product. Explain your rankings. Promotion Promotion is going to be the most important aspect of our product since there is currently not enough marketing of MLS. You can find an advertisement for the NFL on almost any channel but you will rarely see a commercial or promotion for major league soccer. Product The MLS has recently been lacking competition. There tends to be a handful of teams that compete for the top spots and then the rest of the league, who battle for the bottom ranks. These top teams garner the most attention and fan base while the other teams struggle to keep fans interested. Place We ranked place as the third most important factor ... Nt3110 Unit 1 Algorithm Application Paper section{Design Procedure} label{Design} We divide the system into four main parts as follows. begin {itemize} item [1.] Modularize. item [2.] Evaluation. item [3.] Estimation. item [4.] Testing end{itemize} We represent this fact graphically in the following figure ref{Figure:Phase}. Each part of the figure describes briefly. begin{figure}[htp] includegraphics[width=.48textwidth]{figure/arc2.eps} caption{Architecture of design procedure. } label{Figure:Phase} end{figure} subsection{Modularize:} Social networks are growing day by day. For modular representation of Graph $G(V,E)$ first phase of the design issue is to modularize the network having border nodescite{newman2006modularity}. Boarder nodes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then users of these groups are recommended .We use an effective technique of identify the best user to be recommended. When we are in the distance based group then apply probability based function and gets the user with high concentration of communication. For example, we need two users but as many as fifty users have same distance from the recommender. Then we use the probability function and set a threshold value 2 this will identify the best two users for the best solution. Again if we are in the probability based group then calculate shortest distance among the users who have same probability value. For above example, assume 130 nodes have same probability (suppose 0.9) then run BFS for these nodes (130) the users having shortest distance from the user are recommended. Though our approach is to work efficiently and succeed to produce a result as much effective as we want, we have same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Harmful Effects Of Bisphenol A For my science fair project, I choose to test the effects of Bisphenol A (BPA) on plants after learning that BPA has been removed from many plastics due to the harmful hazards of this chemical. Does BPA effect plants? Specifically, I will be testing to see if different amounts of BPA given to plants will have an impact on plant grown and plant life span. Bisphenol Aor BPA is produced worldwide in large amounts and is found in many of our everyday items. In 2002, approximately 2.8 million pounds of BPA were produced and that amount has increased to over 6 billion pounds in 2008. (What Is BPA?) Some research has been done to see if BPA is harmful, but most of the research has been done with animals. Researchers have found a link between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When BPA was created it was life changing. Yes, we already had plastics, but when BPA was created our plastic became stronger and much improved. With BPA, we could do much more with plastics than in the past like being able to transport water in spill proof bottles and ways to transport food while keeping it sealed shut. BPA allowed food to be heated in the microwave without the plastic melting. People felt safer when polycarbonate plastics were created because it made all plastic safety gear much stronger and more protective. Having this new and improved plastic was astonishing and seemed to be a great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 58. The Use Of Darkness In The Night By Arthur Miller Darkness is hardly ever seen as a positive entity. Children are taught to fear the dark, that monsters lie in the absence of light. Darkness is a powerful image that authors use to their advantage in building up the scene and mood within their writing. Arthur Miller is no exception. He uses the contrast of dark and light to build up suspense and mood. He is also able to foreshadow the upcoming events with the use of night. To start, the play opens up with the scene of Paris accusing Abigail of being in the woods late in the night, [ find quote] This use of darkness symbolizes the sinister act of witchcraft. The effect of these actions results in Betty lying in bed, sick. She supposedly cannot move and is despondent. She s been like this since midnight, Then why can she not move herself since midnight? (pg.10) It s almost as if the bleeding darkness is also at fault for Betty s illness, that it isn t just witchcraft that ails her. Darkness is further diminished when the image of light comes to make an appearance. In the play, light is seen as something holy. Hale equates light to God s holiness and sees it as a way to purify Tituba, ... open yourself and let God s holy light shine on you. (pg.45) In addition, the dark also is a foreshadowing element. In the beginning of Act II, the scene is set at the Proctor s house in the night. What keeps you so late? It s almost dark. (pg.49) The mood between the two characters, John Proctor and his wife, Elizabeth is harsh, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
