Harmful Effects Of Bisphenol A
For my science fair project, I choose to test the effects of Bisphenol A (BPA) on plants after
learning that BPA has been removed from many plastics due to the harmful hazards of this
chemical. Does BPA effect plants? Specifically, I will be testing to see if different amounts of BPA
given to plants will have an impact on plant grown and plant life span. Bisphenol Aor BPA is
produced worldwide in large amounts and is found in many of our everyday items. In 2002,
approximately 2.8 million pounds of BPA were produced and that amount has increased to over 6

When BPA was created it was life changing. Yes, we already had plastics, but when BPA was
created our plastic became stronger and much improved. With BPA, we could do much more with
plastics than in the past like being able to transport water in spill proof bottles and ways to
transport food while keeping it sealed shut. BPA allowed food to be heated in the microwave
without the plastic melting. People felt safer when polycarbonate plastics were created because it
made all plastic safety gear much stronger and more protective. Having this new and improved

The Use Of Darkness In The Night By Arthur Miller
Darkness is hardly ever seen as a positive entity. Children are taught to fear the dark, that
monsters lie in the absence of light. Darkness is a powerful image that authors use to their
advantage in building up the scene and mood within their writing. Arthur Miller is no exception.
He uses the contrast of dark and light to build up suspense and mood. He is also able to
foreshadow the upcoming events with the use of night. To start, the play opens up with the
scene of Paris accusing Abigail of being in the woods late in the night, [ find quote] This use of
darkness symbolizes the sinister act of witchcraft. The effect of these actions results in Betty
lying in bed, sick. She supposedly cannot move and is despondent. She s been like this since
