The state of enterprise gamification - for sales, customer service, learning and more - in 2015.
What it means, how it is transforming into a fitbit for work, and what the future holds for it.
How enterprise gamification can be used in call centers and contact centers for customer service gamification. How to use gamification to balance AHT, FCR and customer satisfaction. How to use gamification for job essence and job function and for call center onboarding.

Is product management primarily supporting the tactics of other departments? Or is it a strategic role that is grounded in market facts? Product managers need to look beyond UX to the entire customer experience through every step of the product life cycle.

Enterprise Gamification as Methodology to Promote Employee EngagementPatrick Bartl
Talent development as well as employee engagement and commitment are the most important workforce challenges for enterprises today. The majority of employees in the Western world are either indifferent or unengaged. Social science suggests that employee motivation drives employee engagement which in turn drives customer satisfaction and loyalty. This means that employee engagement has a direct impact on the performance. Companies with high sustainable engagement achieve the threefold operating margin compared to companies with low traditional engagement. Enterprise gamification offers a solution to promote engagement across the company.
Gaming in general is for everybody. This is mainly driven by the digitalization and evolution of video games. The democratic shift entails generations of digital natives that grow up with games. Gaming is therefore omnipresent in their lives. However, gamification is not a form of pure fun at work or a video game on top of work. Gamification aims to leverage the ludic drive of humans embedded in a state-of-the-art technological environment. It is defined as the use of game mechanics and experience design in a non-game context to (digitally) engage and motivate employees to achieve their objectives and in turn meet aligned organizational goals. This can help to move a significant part of the indifferent employees into the group of engaged to highly engaged employees.

How to communicate your enterprise gamification projectCentrical
An effective launch of any enterprise gamification project requires credible and repeated communications. This is good news: communicating a gamification project makes employees more likely to find it credible, is a great opportunity to explain goals and objectives and can even impact corporate culture.
For sales gamification, you can communicate products to sell, which offerings can be combined, how many communications are required for each lead and more. For customer service gamification, you can indicate training goals and set expectations and targets. For elearning, gamification communication can set expectations for levels of proficiency, learning goals completed and more

Metrics-driven goals are fundamental to building great products. While data, KPIs and OKRs have an impact on most jobs, it is especially true for product teams. In our current situation, product professionals are being challenged to clearly articulate the value of their products and solutions in a language that focuses on outcome vs. output and value created vs. effort spent.
Are you struggling to provide the metrics that matter most for your product or solution? Are you caught in a loop reinventing how to measure the progress and success of your products?
In this webinar, join Mike Smart and Devin Anderson to:
*Explore how to help your product or solution stand out.
*Learn how to combine vision with quantifiable metrics that measure process, progress and value.
*Learn how to use leading metrics, such as usage and adoption, to impact product performance and business outcomes.
You’ll leave with real life strategies for using your data super powers for the good of your product.
This deck was part of our presentation "Putting Digital Back in the Boardroom" delivered by Adam Abrahami, Managing Director, iris Concise at Social Media Week New York 2017.
You know the story too well. You have a great idea. You sell it in and secure the budgets. Your team deliver the best campaign you’ve ever seen. Your boss asks you how it performed. You ask your team how it performed. Three weeks later you receive a report. It talks about site visits, it talks about bounce rate, it talks about likes, shares, comments. You excitedly take it to your boss.
She looks at you with a bemused look on her face…
“What does this all mean?”
You tell her that it’s beating industry benchmarks. It’s going viral. It’s trending!
“What is it doing for the business though?”
In this era of marketing transparency everyone expects to receive tangible sales information as part of your post-campaign reports. It’s not always available. How do you package up your performance metrics in a way that has resonance at a board level? How do you get your show-stopping, award-winning, best-in-class campaign the kudos it deserves? How do you make small scale activities interesting to executives?
iris Worldwide approach these situations with the help of their in-house management consultancy iris Concise. Together, this deck will be taking you through the frameworks, approaches, and strategies used to develop campaign KPIs, measurement metrics, and reports that executives not only pay attention to, but talk about.
If you’re looking to have your work get more interest internally, or find ways to present your campaign performance in a way that makes your clients look better than ever before, this workshop is for you.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
