3. They say history always repeats itself. Which is true, but for
technology I would beg to differ. Technology is always advancing and
never seems to take a step back. What will communication
technology be like by the year 2026? Lets take a look!

4. Education of the Future
• “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the
teacher is the most important.” –Bill Gates
• That quote says a lot being so short. One of the major technology changes that I believe will
happen is that teachers will slowly step away rom being up in front of a board drawing out
discussions and lectures and all students ill be learning from tablets of sorts that whatever the
teacher is writing on a board of there own will pop up on theirs. The same goes for online classes.
Online classes are sure to be greatly different in the coming years.

5. What will be different?
• Learning
• Teaching tools- With online classes, teachers/professors will be able to virtually show, explain and
demonstrate what it is that they are instructing.
• Methods and ways of teaching- I strongly believe that within the next 10 years teaches will be able
to do holographic video calls.
• Things that we use now will become of no use like paper, pencils, notebooks, etc.

6. Other ways of communication
Laptops
• Laptops now and days have bigger
keyboards, screens, and higher
resolution.
• I believe that laptops will become a thing
of the past. Not now but within the next
20 years.
Tablets, and IPads
• Are already extremely portable and easy
to carry.
• They are also easy access.
• They will be what laptops are to us now.
• You will be able to do even more
advanced operations on them.
• They will be used in surgeries,
classrooms, military, everywhere.

7. Uses and Gratification Theory
• Uses and gratifications theory attempts to explain the uses and
functions of the media for individuals, groups, and society in
general.
• This Theory discusses why individuals, groups, and company's use
certain media. Also identifying the positive and negative uses of
them using that form of media.
• This plays a big role in media outlets and the different media to
see what the consumer is being satisfied with.

8. Cell Phones
• The common cell phone today can do almost everything.
• From video calls, internet, text, social media, news updates in
politics, community, and sports. So what could be more?
• Imagine a phone that can send out a signal of trouble when in dire
needs. A phone that could project items into virtual holograms.
Something out of a star wars movie.

9. Theories
Media Dependency Theory
• This theory is extended from the Uses and Gratification
Theory.
• There is an internal link between media, audience and
large social system.
• It has 3 degrees:
• Individual, An individual will become more dependent on
media, if the medium satisfy his/her needs.
• Social Stability, the more the person or group is using this
media, the more they feel the need to keep using it
because they want more information, knowledge, or
advice.
• Active Audience, the active audience chooses the media
dependence on their individual needs and other factors
such as economic conditions, society and culture.
Social Information Processing
• This theory was developed back in 1992 by Joseph
Walther
• This theory discusses how people can hold
relationships, and communicate with other people
online without really seeing and being involved in the
real world.
• Instant Messaging, email, chat rooms
• Interpersonal relationships devleped through
computer technology has gelped people with the
issues that they would have had with a FTF (face to
face relationship).

10. TV’s of The Future
Tv now has ben greatly more advanced
then ever before. You can watch cable,
get on the web, video call and more.
But what could they add.
By 2026 the Television will be able to.
Be able to watch everything in 4d. So
you could feel as if the station you
were watching or movie you were
watching was right in front of you.
