The Ergonomic Keyboard And Mouse Prevent Carpal Tunnel...
Office workers in Mound, Minnesota, may be aware of the importance of the ergonomic keyboard and mouse to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome
and other repetitive stress disorders. However, these are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the health problems researchers have
linked to prolonged sitting. High blood sugar The Washington Post reports that poor posture does contribute to a variety of spinal issues, such as
neck strain and muscle tissue damage. However, studies show that even at an ergonomic station, the pancreas is negatively affected. That organ
produces insulin to help the body regulate the amount of sugar in the blood. When a person sits for hours at a time, muscles stop responding the
way they should to insulin, and that prompts the pancreas to go into overdrive. As a result, the risk for diabetes rises. Low mental function Unused
muscles take a toll in other areas of the body, as well. Fat is not burned as efficiently when muscle movement is restricted, and that leads to sluggish
blood flow and less oxygen in the brain. Lower mental capacity is one side effect, and depression may follow, since the body does not produce the
chemicals that improve mood and outlook. Cancer According to Time Magazine, a recent analysis of 43 studies indicates a clear link between sitting
for hours during the day, and colon, lung and endometrial cancer. Regular exercise did not lower the risks, which were 66 percent higher for those
who are typically deskbound at work.

Nt1310 Section 2 Section 3
Section III–A explains how the keyboard works while section III–B describes the main iterations that led to the keyboard's final version. In section
III–C, some of the user–interface design principles that helped to fine–tune the keyboard design are mentioned.
A. How Does It Work
The keyboard works like text entry keyboards, however, instead of inputting letters it inputs blocks. Each key inputs a block or changes a field.
Version 3 in figure 1 shows the current layout of the keyboard. Once a block is inserted, the keyboard selects and highlights the first unoccupiedinput
connector. The arrow keys allow navigating the blocks through their connectors by highlighting them. The keyboard's keys will be enabled or disabled

Just like many keyboard designs that utilize the letter or word frequencies to layout their keys, we want to utilize the blocks' frequencies. To
accomplish this, we looked for Blockly programs sources. Code Studio, a website offering online courses created by Code.org, is used by millions
of students [14]. It relies heavily on Blockly to teach programming concepts. Therefore, we choose it as a reference for Blockly programs. We
counted the frequency of each block that was asked to be input in all the offered activities. However, if the activity asks the users to input less than 10
blocks we did not include that activity in the statistics. We chose not to include such activities because they have few blocks that do not represent a
common block–base program. Commonly, an activity with few blocks just teaches how to input blocks rather than teaching programming concepts
or problems solving. This left us with 47 Blockly programs from courses 2,3, and 4. We found that the average input task consists of 19 blocks. Table
I shows the frequency of block types. The Code Studio activities did not ask the students to input all the block types in Blockly as can be noticed from

Swot Analysis Of Morgan Chase & Co
JP Morgan Chase & Co. is currently United States' biggest bank, and the 6th biggest bank internationally with over 2.4 trillion dollars in assets. This
financial juggernaut was formed in 2000, when Chase Manhattan Corporation and JP Morgan & Co merged. Currently, Chase is well known for
their credit card line in America, and is responsible for consumer banking, while JP Morgan is well known internationally, and responsible for
investment banking. Although JPMC is one of the world's biggest banks, senior management at JPMC has continuously referred to the company as a
technology company. Technology plays an astronomically more important role in banking because of convenience and security. JPMC currently has
over 40,000 technologists, of which over 18,000 are software developers (Crowe). In comparison, Google, arguably the most renowned tech company
in the world, has around 60,000 employees. With such an enormous staff of technologists and coders, JPMC, like any big tech corporation, must be
concerned with employee production efficiency. Over my past summer as an intern, I've noticed that there is one key area that JPMC could improve on
– keyboards. Every technologist at JPMC has their own area for their computer setup, and unsurprisingly, most technologists spend a majority of their
time in front of their computer doing one task – typing. The keyboards provided by JPMC were basic plastic membrane keyboards that did not support
any added functionality. Even as an intern, I

Career Episode # 3 CE 3: Head Mounted Mouse & Keyboard for the Physically Disabled CE 3.1 Introduction This project was performed as a
semester project during my Bachelors of Electronics and Communications Engineering at VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY,
BANGALORE, INDIA. I performed this project with two other group mates, however, I was the project lead as it was originally my idea and my
fellows agreed I was fit to take charge. We did indeed need external help from time to time, for which we consulted our instructors of the relevant
disciplines. Their help was very valuable and I thank them for their cooperation. CE 3.2: Background CE 3.2.1 The theme of the project was to
bring forth an idea which could prove to be helpful in today's world and bring it to completion once the idea was approved. My first instinct was to
develop a solution for people who are physically impaired and could use my invention to complete day to day tasks more seamlessly. I was very
enthusiastic about my idea and thankfully our course instructor was too and gave us a go ahead on the project. However we were at first more
inclined towards developing a robotics related project and a vacuum cleaning automaton such as the famous RoombaВ® but another group had already
taken this idea a few step further so we dropped our initiative out of professional and friendly courtesy. CE 3.2.2 Electronic gadgets such as

Modern Technology
Technology is developing day by day. With technology developing, innovation is increasing. This modern era, technology is everything. But is
only technology good enough for us? Not quite. The technology we want has to be innovative, they have to fulfill every requirement that we
desire. They have to be efficient, they have to cool and good looking, most of they have to be unique and of high performance qualities. Hundreds
and thousands of different types of technological advancements have occurred. A specified area to cover and witness the massive development of
technology would be the electrical devices. More specifically, mobile devices. These are devices that are known for their portability and flexibility
of use. A mobile device now a days is never one single functioning piece of equipment. A modern mobile device includes the features of a music
player, a video player, a phone device, an internet browsing device and so many other multi purpose features. We all know that these are all found in
smart phones. But they are even more powerful features in tablets. Tablets are basically a regular smart phone, but with everything much bigger. With
tablets, bigger is better. Tablets are a major breakthrough in technological advancement and developments. Tabs are found in almost every day
households, but mostly they are found in the uses of official works. There are tens and hundreds of types of tabs. But one company stands out from the

Identifying The Components of Cognitivist Theories used in, "Kermit and The Keyboard."
Abstract
Cognitivism emphasizes on the explanation of cognitive structures and process, and the intervention of these structures and processes between
instruction and learning (Glaserfeld, 1989). The study of cognitivism has allowed for educators, theorist and psychologist to understand the concepts of
knowing, thinking and formulating feedback. In reviewing the sample texture, "Kermit and the Keyboard," has allowed for philosophers and
psychologist to review the interactional theories of learning process. Within this paper, will identify,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Philosophers and psychologist was able to determine three different cognitivist theories in relation to sample text to help capture the meaning of
information processing using cognitivism. The three theories of cognitivist that was evaluated relates to the sample text Cognitive Information

provided the essence of understanding and explaining Kermit's learning in the story.
The approach of using cognitive and knowledge development creates the mental process of attention, memory, producing and understanding the process
of learning (Smith, 2002). The three different cognitivist theories, Cognitive Information Processing (CIP), Piaget's Theory and Perspective of
Interactional Theories of Cognitive Development helps capture the significants of cognitive and knowledge development in capturing the true meaning

Bach Fugue Analysis
For that reason, Bach used a fugue in solo organ pieces and in instrumental works and choral cantatas. This Fugue is the most famous of fugues by any
composer.
The difficult part to explain is how Bach created the Toccata's forceful organ effect. When Bach was in Arnstadt when he was younger, theorgan
ordinarily lacked a 16–foot register on the keyboard; consequently, it sounds an octave lower than the normal 8–foot register. Accordingly, in order to
create the effect, Bach used octave doubling; consequently, he continued the resounding effect of the opening bars; conversely, there is no octave
doubling in any of Bach's later organ works; moreover, the fugue sounds furious with its uninterrupted series of fast notes. Also, Bach felt ... Show more

This section segues into the third and final section of the Toccata, which consists almost entirely of a passage doubled at the sixth and comprising
reiterations of the same three–note figure, similar to doubled passages in the first section; after a brief pedal flourish, the piece ends with a D minor
chord. In Bach's brilliance, he made the subject of the four–voice fugue up entirely of sixteenth notes with an implied pedal point set against a brief
melodic subject that first falls and then rises. Nevertheless, Baroque music frequently encountered Violinistic figures and that of Bach, both as fugue
subjects and as material in non–imitative pieces. The answer is in the subdominant key, rather than the dominant. Although it's a four–part fugue, there
are only three voices, and some of the interludes are in two or even one voice (notated as two); although Bach employed only one simple triadic
harmony throughout the fugue, there is an unexpected C minor subject entry and, furthermore, a solo pedal statement of the subject (a unique feature
for a Baroque fugue). After the final subject entry, the composition resolves to a sustained B flat major chord; a multi–sectional coda follows, which
Bach marked as Recitativo. Although it's only 17 bars long, it progresses through five tempo changes; in addition, Bach had the last bars played Molto

Why Are Computers Important Today? World?
Why are computers important in today's world?
Computers have become important in today's world because they are used in most fields of work, even the unexpected lines of work use computers
for example; Doctors rely on computers to store data for medical research and even keeping information about patients. Nowadays, we rely so much on
computers to help us to accomplish tasks easily, communicate, educate and there are many more uses.
Identify the main parts of a computer
System Unit
The system unit is where everything is stored to be able to work. The system unit holds the CPU (central processing unit) to act as the brain of the
computer. The unit contains the power supply and the motherboard, which is the brain and blood of the computer. All the other parts of the computer
join at the unit to allow the computer to work, which are: the monitor, mouse, keyboard and the speakers (if required).
Monitor
The monitor is the visual part of the computer. It is used to display information from the computer onto a screen to allow the user to see what they are
doing. The monitor does require electricity in order for it to work, which means that it has its own power cord, which is needed to be plugged into an
outlet.
Mouse
The mouse is used to help navigate around the computer. Some mouse's are wired and some are wireless. There are two buttons on a mouse that are

Advantages and Disadvantages of Keyboards Versus Pencils...
Technology is slowly taking over the world. It affects many things, one of them being handwriting. Typing has some advantages over handwriting, but
typing also has some disadvantages. Cursive is outdated, and typing is more efficient than handwriting in general. However, handwriting has some
benefits over typing. Cursive was a lot more prominent in the past then it is today. According to Remington Korper, cursive was taught before printing.
This made it the main form of writing for students. Some people that had excellent cursive could take it as a job. The first type of cursive was
Spencerian. This was a very time consuming, tiring writing. The next type was Palmer's Method. This was faster and easier than Spencerian writing. It is

This makes note taking easier"(Pros and Cons). With faster note taking and the ability to do assignments faster, a lot of time in class could be saved
which allows for more information to be taught. "When notes and assignments are saved to a computer, there's less likelihood of them getting lost,
especially if important files are routinely backed up"(Pros and Cons). Notes and assignments are harder to lose if typed and saved on a computer
compared to writing on a piece of paper. This makes sure you are able to study, possibly leading to higher grades. Even though typing has many
advantages over cursive, typing also has some disadvantages. For one, laptops or computers can cost upwards of $300. This is very expensive
compared to paper and pencils, which only cost a couple dollars. Laptops and computers are also very easily broken. "The act of handwriting helps
students (and adults) retain information more effectively than when keyboarding"(Handwriting Debate) Handwriting helps with memorizing things.
Without it, students would have a harder time memorizing info which could result in lower test scores. "Digital devices may be great learning tools,
but they also offer a number of distractions to students"(Pros and Cons). Laptops and computers are distractions in school. This could also result in
lower grades. So is handwriting going to die out?

The Music Instrument the Organ Essay
The organ is an instrument that dates back to the third century B.C. The man credited for this invention is Ctesibius of Alexandria who invented an
instrument called the hydraulis, which used wind maintained through water pressure to some pipes. Organs are most likely found in churches and are
used during the services. Its divine pitch imitates that of a human voice and creates a beautiful sound that many find pleasing. There are three types of
organs, non–piped, electronic, and mechanical organs. Non–piped organs are much like accordions and harmonicas. Electronic organs make
electronically produced sounds through speakers. Then the mechanical organs are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organs also range in size from single small keyboards to huge organs with five keyboards. Some of the bigger instruments can have over 10,000 pipes.
The famous Wolfgang Amadeaus Mozart once called theorgan the "king of instruments". Organs were traditionally used for Christian and Catholic
Church services, that is why they are commonly referred to as "church organs". Organs are ideally made to accompany human voices. It could be a
soloist, choir, whatever, that is one of its key purposes. This first began in the seventh century with Pope Vitalian. At first people were not fond of
having music and singing during church services but people quickly became accustomed to having an organ around because of the beautiful sound that
complimented the songs of worship. The organ became a popular and much wanted necessity in years to come.
Some organs, preferably larger ones, are also used for concerts called organ recitals. Almost any organ large enough outside of church is considered a
concert organ. Church organs are very large to begin with, so concert organs must be very, very large. In the twentieth century, organs were made to
replace symphony orchestras by playing transcripts of orchestral pieces. This was a major accomplishment because symphony orchestras took up a lot
of space and time. The organ was considerably smaller and only required the musical talent of one person instead of an entire

Why Use An Ergonomic Keyboard
Why Use an Ergonomic Keyboard
The word ergonomic is probably a word you have heard severally from various quarters and the technology world is perhaps the main center of focus
as far as this is concerned. Looking at computers which are our main concern, you will find that the aspect of an ergonomic keyboard has been
incorporated too.
Essentially, an ergonomic keyboard is supposed to make you comfortable as you work as it draws away muscle strain and other repetitive strain
injuries (RSI). In most cases, you will find that this variety of keyboards are V shaped and this is meant to enable both hands to type at an angle,
which is assumed to be the most natural way to do so for every person.
As usual, most of the times, when working on or with your keyboard, speed, comfort and efficiency are of the essence. It is said that using one of
these will help you work efficiently and faster over a long period of time since your hands and wrists will be much more comfortable and that injuries
such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome will be prevented in the long run. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While you are at it, understand that there are several varieties of these you are set to find out there such as the arch keyboard that ensures keys are
close to your fingers and the split variety that is meant to make your wrists assume a more natural position as you type.
Other varieties include the contoured keyboard and handheld keyboard. But what really do you need to consider as you choose what ergonomic
keyboard is best for you, given the varieties available? I would say design features. This is what helps you determine what is best for you and

The Microorganization Of The Computers
If one touches a laptop, he or she would assumably believe that the keyboard has the most bacteria, because it is touched the most throughout the day.
Wouldn't that be many people's idea? According to a study done by the University of Cambridge, laptop keyboards can hold dangerous germs. The
article states that computers are most likely to be contaminated with potentially pathogenic microorganisms in healthcare settings (Rutala, W. A., White,
M. S., Gergen, M. F., & Weber, D. J. 2016, June 21). In addition, another article issued by the American Journal of Infection Control expresses that
touch screens are more probable to contain opportunistic bacterial pathogens, since multiple hands mean multiple carriers of germs. The experimenters

As for the keyboard (Figure 3), the colonies were spread out, unevenly, and the mouse pad's bacteria colony (Figure 2) was barely visible. What was
surprising was the fact that the most touched region was not the area with the most bacteria. It was actually one of the least touched regions, because
many people restrain from touching the screen, since it may cause the it to have finger imprints on it. Not only this, but the difference in colony sizes
sparked the idea that they may be different types of bacteria on each region of the laptop. The data suggested that the bacteria from the keyboard and
mousepad are the same, most likely someone's hands. Through this journey, the experiments learned the importance of cleaning not only their hands,
but their laptops also because it may even carry various amounts and types of bacteria. However, there were some human errors made throughout the
experiment. Not mentioned before, the control petri dish (Figure 1) was actually the second attempt. During the first, the experimenters did not wave
the swab in the air, but immediately swabbed the agar. This eventually led to the lid of the dish containing a foggy layer, hardly letting the
experimenters see into the dish After trying the second time, it contained a small bacteria colony, which meant that it agar and swabs were exposed for
too long this attempt. Moving on, the experiment could have shown more accurate and consistent results if it had been done multiple times

Mobile Computing : Using Handheld Devices With Miniature...
Introduction Mobile computing can be defined as the use of handheld devices with miniature keyboards that allow the users to gain instant access
to the information they need, as well as it enables them to communicate or use applications available on the mobile technology platform to solve
problems. This can be attributed to the fact that there is an increasing advancement in terms of the availability and efficiency of mobile based
applications (Sykes, 2014). Additionally, mobile devices allow users to socialize with other users on the go. In fact, over the past few years,
mobile computing has evolved progressively, especially with the advent of wireless technology. Basically, wireless technology has made the
location of mobile users irrelevant as emphasized by Sykes (2014). A good number of businesses have been compelled to modify their business
processes so as to accommodate the rapidly evolving mobile technology. For instance, there are thousands of applications for both android and iOS
platforms than can be exploited by businesses to perform innumerable tasks and processes. Essentially, this has motivated businesses to redesign their
desktop platforms and the Web to run on mobile devices with the help of mobile applications, such as iPhone, iPad, and Android applications.
Therefore, the implication of mobile devices in the modern world of business is getting clearer, considering the impact they've had on social media
networking sites (Jabeur, Zeadally & Sayed, 2013).

Essay on Evolution of the Keyboard
The Physical Evolution of the Keyboard: From Monochord to Harpsichord
Since the first person heard the wind whistle through the trees or the sea in a seashell humans have been drawn to sound. Being the oppressive and
ingenious species that we are we felt the need to capture these sounds and any others that we could to keep for our own. Eventually people like
Pythagoras and gods such as Apollo found that by stretching materials and picking/plucking them that they would produce sounds and that the tighter
you stretched these strings the higher the sound would go. These were the early beginnings of the pianoforte.

brass blades called tangents. Under normal circumstances the strings are deadened by felt dampers lying very near to on end of the strings. As the key
is depressed it strikes the string just past the felt damper and creates a temporary bridge for that string allowing it to vibrate. For the note to continue
to vibrate the player must keep the key depressed. Also, due to the nature of the mechanism on the clavichord it is possible for the player to create
vibrato by varying the amount of pressure put on a key once it has been depressed. Unfortunately due to the size and construction of the clavichord it
has an extremely soft sound making it impossible to be heard in noisy surroundings.

HISTORY AND ORIGINATORS OF KEYBOARD Essay
HISTORY AND ORIGINATORS OF KEYBOARD
BAROQUE PERIOD
Harpsichord (Italian cembalo; French clavecin), stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are plucked to produce sound. It was developed in
Europe in the 14th or 15th century and was widely used from the 16th to the early 19th century, when it was superseded by the piano. In the 20th
century the harpsichord was revived for performance of music of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, as well as for new compositions. The incisive
sound quality of the plucked metal strings adds clarity to melodic lines. The harpsichord is particularly effective in performing contrapuntal music–that
is, music that consists of two or more melodies played at the same time, such as that of the German ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A typical two–manual harpsichord of the 18th century had strings at normal and octave–high pitch playable on the lower manual, strings at normal
pitch controlled by the upper manual, and a coupling mechanism. Early History The earliest school of harpsichord building developed in Italy in the
16th and 17th centuries. Italian harpsichords differed from others in that they normally were made of extremely thin wood and then placed in a
stronger outer case of the same shape. A second important school of building developed in the 16th and 17th centuries in Flanders, centered around the
influential Ruckers family of builders. These schools gave way in the 18th century to distinctive styles of building that developed in France (the
Blachet family), Germany (the Hass family), and England (Jacob Kirkman). Harpsichords of the different national schools varied in details of their
proportions and construction, resulting in slight, although characteristic differences in tone color. Modern Developments In the 20th century, two
broad approaches to harpsichord building emerged. The first utilized recent principles of construction, such as are found in present–day pianos.
Stimulated by the Polish harpsichordist Wanda Landowska, this style was exemplified by the French piano firms of Pleyel and Г‰rard. Their
harpsichords relied on heavy strings under high tension in a heavily braced case. Many

Keyboard Sonata And Scarlatti Similarities
The pieces Sonata in A Major, H. 186, Wq. 55/4, keyboard sonata, excerpt: Second movement (1765) by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Sonata in
D Major, K. 119, keyboard sonata (ca. 1740s) by Domenico Scarlatti are both very unique pieces. Both Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Domenico
Scarlatti were keyboard composers during their time in the 1700's. Both of their pieces have more similarities then they do differences. One similarity
that stands out the most in these two pieces is that they are both keyboard played sonatas. Both pieces are in major key and have a very unique
melody. Even thought Domenico Scarlatti's piece is a little more disjointed or harsh sounding, it still has a soothing melody in the majority of its

So, how do people really use their handheld devices? An interactive study of wireless technology usey
FRANCINE K. SCHLOSSER*
University of Waterloo, Canada
Summary
Using a symbolic interactionist methodology, the diverse meanings assigned by employees to wireless handheld technology are investigated. Interviews
were conducted with 11 individuals representing three organizations in the public and private sector enhancing our understanding of technology use
within an organizational context. Wireless technology practices are examined as they relate to aspects of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of these, 91 per cent have used a mobile phone and 27.5 per cent a pager. These devices have evolved from basic paging, telephone, and scheduling
technologies to active messaging: for instance, Internet–enabled handheld computers (e.g. Palm Pilot and RIM's BlackBerry) currently allow
individuals to send and receive wireless communications. However, there has been little investigation into the ways in which employees are
adapting to these wireless technologies. Thus, this study will be provisional and exploratory in nature and will address the need for this type of
research given the limited nature of past research on the meanings and uses of wireless technology. This research responds to Orlikowski and
Iacono's (2001) suggestion for increased research into the 'ensemble' view of technology (which considers technology as embedded within the larger
social context) because there has been little work to date in this area. Orlikowski and Iacono (2001, p. 121) defined IT artefacts as 'those bundles of
material and cultural properties packaged in some socially recognizable form such as hardware and/or software.' Upon reviewing past studies of
technology performed over the past ten years, they concluded that these artefacts must be viewed within their cultural and historical context, and as
dynamic and continually evolving products. Further, although there has been some research on

The encoding hypothesis says that writing helps to encode the information better. The external–storage hypothesis suggests that by writing down the
information is helpful because you can review it later, therefore increasing retention. Even though, there has been a mix of results in these hypotheses it
is certain to say that the use of these two hypotheses together can help improve the academic performance. Other research suggests that note taking can
be generative (in our own words) and non–generative (word for word). Verbatim note taking tends to lower our cognitive process. The deeper the
information is processed and encoded the better the comprehension and retention of the information and better it is for encoding. The research has
shown that people who take verbatim notes show a lower academic performance than those who use non–verbatim notes.
In the article were three studies conducted to answer two questions "whether taking notes on a laptop versus writing long–hand notes affects academic
performance and to explore the potential mechanism of verbatim overlap as a proxy for depth of processing".

CIP explains the continuing development process, the actual stages of the learning process.(Driscoll, 2005) Piagetian Theory Piaget's Stages of
Cognitive Development proposes that a child's capacity to understand certain concepts is based on the child's developmental stage. He outlined 4
stages of development that spanned a child's age from birth through 11 years old. The list below presents a summary of the characteristics typical at
each stage: * Sensorimotor (birth to approximately age 2) – begins to mentally represent objects and events * Preoperational (2 to 7 years) – engages in
symbolic play * Concrete Operational (7 to 11 years) – performs mental operations * Formal Operational (11 years onward) – Solves abstract problems
in systematic and logical fashion (Driscoll, 2005, p.195) Piaget's perspective on Kermit assumes he has reached his formal operational stage of
development and therefore does not provide much of an explanation of how Kermit learned to play the keyboard. However if applied to a child
learning to play the keyboard, like the CIP theory Piaget's theory does address the learning of a symbol system which he termed social knowledge.
This can be used to explain Kermit's recognition of the musical notes and

Productivity is the grouping of smart preparation and dedicated hard work. Continuing productive to your work is really hard. Every time end of the
working day, chances are that you are not fulfilled with what you have gifted. Productivity could be constantly value–added, but here are 8 pointers that
have truly worked for you. Fortunately, a computer, smartphone and a little know how all you need are.
1.Speed Reading Saves Your Time.
In your daily working day wants you to read huge passages of text quickly, think about figuring out how to speed read. On a normal, a person reads
around 200 to 250words per minute (WPM) and this is really slow compared to speed readers because of sub–vocalization – you unconsciously read
every word to yourself as you read. Eliminating sub–vocalization is one of the essential fundamental of speed reading. You can use Speed Reader (by P
Garrison) app for your android phone and tablet, for google chrome you'll use Spreed extension and for iOS try Speed Reading HD.
These apps are using Rapid Serial Visual Presentation technique. In this technique you'll see one word at a time very quickly in the center of your
screen. You'll observe that you're rapidly capable to read 300wpm and with a little more practice you'll reach 500–600wpm. You'll have the capacity for
reading three times quicker with a couple of days practice.

History Of The Suite : French Keyboard And Lute Music...
BRDPAT004 History of Music 1 Assignment The development of the suite in French keyboard and lute music during the 17th century Looking at
the suite from a German perspective, it seems as if the French suite is less cohesive and refined as compared to the fixed structure of dances found
in the German suite. The French suite is described as a 'loose form' as it is sometimes seen as a sequence of contrasting dances and other times as a
series of dances in the same key. In early French suites it can be said that the influence of other cultural aspects in society is vast on the music.
Trends noted in society pertaining to aesthetics and values can be found represented in the music. One of the earliest significant publications of a
keyboard suite was "Pieces de clavicin" by Jacques Champion Chambonnieres, who was seen as a big figure in the development of suite. Another
significant manuscript, known as the Bauyn MS , features dances by both Chambonnieres and his student, Louis Couperin. The arrangement of
early suites in France differs, but it is noted that these manuscripts are arranged by composer, key and genre. The dances were arranged by key in
ascending order. In these early examples the Courantes always appeared before the Sarabandes and Gigue. Some evidence does exist that some
consideration was taken by the composers to specify the order in which pieces should be played. Notes were usually made on the top of manuscripts
for example written on a Gigue from D'anglebert's

Bloom 's Taxonomy : Taxonomy Essay
Bloom's Taxonomy
Bloom's Taxonomy provides teachers a basis to develop classroom lessons with more depth and higher levels of critical thinking. This hierarchy shows
how students can learn material better and retain more later. There are six levels (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation) which cover the basics of the information (knowledge) all the way to critical analysis proving or disproving theoretical situations
(evaluation).
This technique appears ideal for my classes – Computer Science (Java programming) – because of the intense focus on critical thinking and problem
solving aspects of knowledge acquisition and use. I believe that the 1st three levels – knowledge, comprehension, and application – are ideally suited to
the "on–level" CS classes, and I can add analysis and synthesis to the "Pre–AP" CS classes.
These two classes assume that the students have little to no prior experience with computer programming and that the courses are geared to that end by
providing much of the basics of Java. It is because of this that so much of the 1st half of the year–long course is spent on basic concepts. We naturally
fall into these first three levels, knowledge, comprehension, and application, during this part of the course. Through the first 8 weeks, we have
discussed basic information such as variables, arithmetic operators, displaying data on the terminal, keyboard input, and decision control. Through

Kermit and the Keyboard
The Learning Processes of Kermit
As I read the story of "Kermit and the Keyboard" I began to think of the learning processes that he engages himself in as he tries to accomplish
learning task as it relates to playing the keyboard. In this story three cognitive theories can be recognized, analyzed and they are all believed to produce
different learning outcomes. These three theories are the Cognitive Information–Processing Theory, The Piaget's Theory of Development as it relates to
learning and lastly, The Interactional Theories of Cognitive Development. Each one of these theories presents itself in the manner in which Kermit
develops a strategy for learning how to play the keyboard.
In the cognitive information–processing approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Kermit's process of learning he was able to process information and stores it in his memory. He uses the processes of attention, pattern recognition,
encoding, chunking, rehearsal and retrieval to initiate his learning processes and obtain new knowledge. According to Piaget's point of view, Kermit's
learning outcome and the process of learning has no bearing on his theory. This is due to the fact that Kermit is an adult and has reached the formal
operational stage of development. With this in mind, the 4 stages that focus on the processes of assimilation, accommodation and equilibrium in the
development of the cognitive structuring process is not in the process of development in learning how to play the keyboard. However, there are
some insights that can be attributed to this learning style. The type of knowledge is a point that we can certainly consider as it relates to Piaget's
theory of learning. Physical knowledge is one type of knowledge that can be focused upon and this would include the actual touch of the keys when
playing the keyboard, the amount of force that would need to be exerted on the keys to produce a sound and what sound the keys make as it relates to
what functions they are under when producing a sound. Piaget believes that this knowledge is gained through doing; therefore, Kermit had to
experiment with the keyboard in order to meet this concept of knowledge attainment according to the theory of Piaget. And as the

Essay on The keyboard sonatas of Haydn and Mozart
I. Haydn
Haydn has a special preference for writing music in a bundle of six. Each of the six pieces has its individuality while sharing many common features
at the same time. Haydn's solo keyboard sonatas show striking diversity in type and style. They often could be categorized by their style periods and
each of them reflects a corresponding social background.
Sonatas composed from 1773 to 1784 were intended as "public" works from the very beginning, with a clear conception of the taste, preferences, and
instruments available to the musical public of Vienna. The Sonata in F Major, Hob. XVI: 23; L38 written in 1773 for solo harpsichord is the best

II. Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarthad endless ideas for writing piano sonatas and like his other works, his sonata style has evolved dramatically over the
years. His early works have been constantly compared with other well–known composers at the time. For example, it has been suggested that Haydn's F
Major Sonata, Hob. XVI: 23 as a model for Mozart's K. 280 in the same key.
The C Major Sonata, K. 309 was written on November 8, 1777 for the fifteen–year–old Rosa Connabich who was the daughter of the leader of the
Elector Karl Theodor's famous Mannheim orchestra, Christian Cannabich. It was composed for solo piano. The three movements include Allegro con
spirito, Andante un poco Adagio , and Rondo: Allegretto grazioso. The opening theme of the first movement uses a symmetrical paragraph of fourteen
bars with seven measures each. It is followed by a pair of 3–bar balancing phrases. The slow movement also adapted the well balanced phrase structure
at its exposition. This particular style was never unusual to musicians during the period. It has been used by many others including Josef Antonin
Stepan whose Sonata no. 57 in E flat embraced almost identical elements as in Mozart's C Major Sonata. However, Mozart made his own mark
distinctively in various moments. For instance, in the second movement, there was a frequent alternation between two dynamics, piano and forte.
During 1777, Mozart was traveling with his mother

The Ergonomic Keyboard And Mouse Prevent Carpal Tunnel...

  • 1. The Ergonomic Keyboard And Mouse Prevent Carpal Tunnel... Office workers in Mound, Minnesota, may be aware of the importance of the ergonomic keyboard and mouse to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive stress disorders. However, these are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the health problems researchers have linked to prolonged sitting. High blood sugar The Washington Post reports that poor posture does contribute to a variety of spinal issues, such as neck strain and muscle tissue damage. However, studies show that even at an ergonomic station, the pancreas is negatively affected. That organ produces insulin to help the body regulate the amount of sugar in the blood. When a person sits for hours at a time, muscles stop responding the way they should to insulin, and that prompts the pancreas to go into overdrive. As a result, the risk for diabetes rises. Low mental function Unused muscles take a toll in other areas of the body, as well. Fat is not burned as efficiently when muscle movement is restricted, and that leads to sluggish blood flow and less oxygen in the brain. Lower mental capacity is one side effect, and depression may follow, since the body does not produce the chemicals that improve mood and outlook. Cancer According to Time Magazine, a recent analysis of 43 studies indicates a clear link between sitting for hours during the day, and colon, lung and endometrial cancer. Regular exercise did not lower the risks, which were 66 percent higher for those who are typically deskbound at work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Nt1310 Section 2 Section 3 Section III–A explains how the keyboard works while section III–B describes the main iterations that led to the keyboard's final version. In section III–C, some of the user–interface design principles that helped to fine–tune the keyboard design are mentioned. A. How Does It Work The keyboard works like text entry keyboards, however, instead of inputting letters it inputs blocks. Each key inputs a block or changes a field. Version 3 in figure 1 shows the current layout of the keyboard. Once a block is inserted, the keyboard selects and highlights the first unoccupiedinput connector. The arrow keys allow navigating the blocks through their connectors by highlighting them. The keyboard's keys will be enabled or disabled according to the highlighted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just like many keyboard designs that utilize the letter or word frequencies to layout their keys, we want to utilize the blocks' frequencies. To accomplish this, we looked for Blockly programs sources. Code Studio, a website offering online courses created by Code.org, is used by millions of students [14]. It relies heavily on Blockly to teach programming concepts. Therefore, we choose it as a reference for Blockly programs. We counted the frequency of each block that was asked to be input in all the offered activities. However, if the activity asks the users to input less than 10 blocks we did not include that activity in the statistics. We chose not to include such activities because they have few blocks that do not represent a common block–base program. Commonly, an activity with few blocks just teaches how to input blocks rather than teaching programming concepts or problems solving. This left us with 47 Blockly programs from courses 2,3, and 4. We found that the average input task consists of 19 blocks. Table I shows the frequency of block types. The Code Studio activities did not ask the students to input all the block types in Blockly as can be noticed from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Swot Analysis Of Morgan Chase & Co JP Morgan Chase & Co. is currently United States' biggest bank, and the 6th biggest bank internationally with over 2.4 trillion dollars in assets. This financial juggernaut was formed in 2000, when Chase Manhattan Corporation and JP Morgan & Co merged. Currently, Chase is well known for their credit card line in America, and is responsible for consumer banking, while JP Morgan is well known internationally, and responsible for investment banking. Although JPMC is one of the world's biggest banks, senior management at JPMC has continuously referred to the company as a technology company. Technology plays an astronomically more important role in banking because of convenience and security. JPMC currently has over 40,000 technologists, of which over 18,000 are software developers (Crowe). In comparison, Google, arguably the most renowned tech company in the world, has around 60,000 employees. With such an enormous staff of technologists and coders, JPMC, like any big tech corporation, must be concerned with employee production efficiency. Over my past summer as an intern, I've noticed that there is one key area that JPMC could improve on – keyboards. Every technologist at JPMC has their own area for their computer setup, and unsurprisingly, most technologists spend a majority of their time in front of their computer doing one task – typing. The keyboards provided by JPMC were basic plastic membrane keyboards that did not support any added functionality. Even as an intern, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Short Note On Head Mounted Mouse & Keyboard For The... Career Episode # 3 CE 3: Head Mounted Mouse & Keyboard for the Physically Disabled CE 3.1 Introduction This project was performed as a semester project during my Bachelors of Electronics and Communications Engineering at VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, BANGALORE, INDIA. I performed this project with two other group mates, however, I was the project lead as it was originally my idea and my fellows agreed I was fit to take charge. We did indeed need external help from time to time, for which we consulted our instructors of the relevant disciplines. Their help was very valuable and I thank them for their cooperation. CE 3.2: Background CE 3.2.1 The theme of the project was to bring forth an idea which could prove to be helpful in today's world and bring it to completion once the idea was approved. My first instinct was to develop a solution for people who are physically impaired and could use my invention to complete day to day tasks more seamlessly. I was very enthusiastic about my idea and thankfully our course instructor was too and gave us a go ahead on the project. However we were at first more inclined towards developing a robotics related project and a vacuum cleaning automaton such as the famous RoombaВ® but another group had already taken this idea a few step further so we dropped our initiative out of professional and friendly courtesy. CE 3.2.2 Electronic gadgets such as smartphones, PDAs, computers and laptops have revolutionized the way in which we perform ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Bach Fugue Analysis For that reason, Bach used a fugue in solo organ pieces and in instrumental works and choral cantatas. This Fugue is the most famous of fugues by any composer. The difficult part to explain is how Bach created the Toccata's forceful organ effect. When Bach was in Arnstadt when he was younger, theorgan ordinarily lacked a 16–foot register on the keyboard; consequently, it sounds an octave lower than the normal 8–foot register. Accordingly, in order to create the effect, Bach used octave doubling; consequently, he continued the resounding effect of the opening bars; conversely, there is no octave doubling in any of Bach's later organ works; moreover, the fugue sounds furious with its uninterrupted series of fast notes. Also, Bach felt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This section segues into the third and final section of the Toccata, which consists almost entirely of a passage doubled at the sixth and comprising reiterations of the same three–note figure, similar to doubled passages in the first section; after a brief pedal flourish, the piece ends with a D minor chord. In Bach's brilliance, he made the subject of the four–voice fugue up entirely of sixteenth notes with an implied pedal point set against a brief melodic subject that first falls and then rises. Nevertheless, Baroque music frequently encountered Violinistic figures and that of Bach, both as fugue subjects and as material in non–imitative pieces. The answer is in the subdominant key, rather than the dominant. Although it's a four–part fugue, there are only three voices, and some of the interludes are in two or even one voice (notated as two); although Bach employed only one simple triadic harmony throughout the fugue, there is an unexpected C minor subject entry and, furthermore, a solo pedal statement of the subject (a unique feature for a Baroque fugue). After the final subject entry, the composition resolves to a sustained B flat major chord; a multi–sectional coda follows, which Bach marked as Recitativo. Although it's only 17 bars long, it progresses through five tempo changes; in addition, Bach had the last bars played Molto ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was actually one of the least touched regions, because many people restrain from touching the screen, since it may cause the it to have finger imprints on it. Not only this, but the difference in colony sizes sparked the idea that they may be different types of bacteria on each region of the laptop. Introduction Mobile computing can be defined as the use of handheld devices with miniature keyboards that allow the users to gain instant access to the information they need, as well as it enables them to communicate or use applications available on the mobile technology platform to solve problems. This can be attributed to the fact that there is an increasing advancement in terms of the availability and efficiency of mobile based applications (Sykes, 2014). Additionally, mobile devices allow users to socialize with other users on the go. In fact, over the past few years, mobile computing has evolved progressively, especially with the advent of wireless technology. Basically, wireless technology has made the location of mobile users irrelevant as emphasized by Sykes (2014). A good number of businesses have been compelled to modify their business processes so as to accommodate the rapidly evolving mobile technology. For instance, there are thousands of applications for both android and iOS platforms than can be exploited by businesses to perform innumerable tasks and processes. Essentially, this has motivated businesses to redesign their desktop platforms and the Web to run on mobile devices with the help of mobile applications, such as iPhone, iPad, and Android applications. Eventually people like Pythagoras and gods such as Apollo found that by stretching materials and picking/plucking them that they would produce sounds and that the tighter you stretched these strings the higher the sound would go. It is usually made of softwood with an "f" shaped hole cut in it to amplify the sound coming from the strings, which are situated just above it. The keys sit on a simple rocker mechanism and strike the strings with brass blades called tangents. Under normal circumstances the strings are deadened by felt dampers lying very near to on end of the strings. As the key is depressed it strikes the string just past the felt damper and creates a temporary bridge for that string allowing it to vibrate. For the note to continue to vibrate the player must keep the key depressed. Also, due to the nature of the mechanism on the clavichord it is possible for the player to create vibrato by varying the amount of pressure put on a key once it has been depressed. Unfortunately due to the size and construction of the clavichord it has an extremely soft sound making it impossible to be heard in noisy surroundings. Italian harpsichords differed from others in that they normally were made of extremely thin wood and then placed in a stronger outer case of the same shape. A second important school of building developed in the 16th and 17th centuries in Flanders, centered around the influential Ruckers family of builders. These schools gave way in the 18th century to distinctive styles of building that developed in France (the Blachet family), Germany (the Hass family), and England (Jacob Kirkman). Harpsichords of the different national schools varied in details of their proportions and construction, resulting in slight, although characteristic differences in tone color. Muller and Daniel M. Oppenheimer, and published by the Psychological Science in 2014. The article focuses on a series of previous research on the topic and studies with the goal of providing evidence to answer their two main questions. The first question is which one the two note taking strategies works better and increases academic performance longhand note taking or laptop note taking. The second question is how verbatim overlap (word for word) affects our learning. In the article, three studies were conducted similarly but as the studies were made something new was added to explore new aspects of learning. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The encoding hypothesis says that writing helps to encode the information better. The external–storage hypothesis suggests that by writing down the information is helpful because you can review it later, therefore increasing retention. Even though, there has been a mix of results in these hypotheses it is certain to say that the use of these two hypotheses together can help improve the academic performance. Other research suggests that note taking can be generative (in our own words) and non–generative (word for word). Verbatim note taking tends to lower our cognitive process. The deeper the information is processed and encoded the better the comprehension and retention of the information and better it is for encoding. The research has shown that people who take verbatim notes show a lower academic performance than those who use non–verbatim notes. In the article were three studies conducted to answer two questions "whether taking notes on a laptop versus writing long–hand notes affects academic performance and to explore the potential mechanism of verbatim overlap as a proxy for depth of processing". Study 1 They were 67 participants in study 1 and they were students from the Princeton University subject pool, there was an equal amount of men and women in the study and 1 unknown. Conaway American InterContinental University Abstract Three different cognitivist approaches to the story Kermit and the Keyboard are presented in Driscoll's Psychology of Learning for Instruction (2005). Cognitive Information Processing, Piagetian Theory, and Interactional Theories of Cognitive Development are the three perspectives given on how Kermit learns to play the keyboard. These theories have similarities as well as divergent views on development. CIP explains the continuing development process, the actual stages of the learning process.(Driscoll, 2005) Piagetian Theory Piaget's Stages of Cognitive Development proposes that a child's capacity to understand certain concepts is based on the child's developmental stage. He outlined 4 stages of development that spanned a child's age from birth through 11 years old. The list below presents a summary of the characteristics typical at each stage: * Sensorimotor (birth to approximately age 2) – begins to mentally represent objects and events * Preoperational (2 to 7 years) – engages in symbolic play * Concrete Operational (7 to 11 years) – performs mental operations * Formal Operational (11 years onward) – Solves abstract problems in systematic and logical fashion (Driscoll, 2005, p.195) Piaget's perspective on Kermit assumes he has reached his formal operational stage of development and therefore does not provide much of an explanation of how Kermit learned to play the keyboard. However if applied to a child learning to play the keyboard, like the CIP theory Piaget's theory does address the learning of a symbol system which he termed social knowledge. This can be used to explain Kermit's recognition of the musical notes and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. History Of The Suite : French Keyboard And Lute Music... BRDPAT004 History of Music 1 Assignment The development of the suite in French keyboard and lute music during the 17th century Looking at the suite from a German perspective, it seems as if the French suite is less cohesive and refined as compared to the fixed structure of dances found in the German suite. The French suite is described as a 'loose form' as it is sometimes seen as a sequence of contrasting dances and other times as a series of dances in the same key. In early French suites it can be said that the influence of other cultural aspects in society is vast on the music. Trends noted in society pertaining to aesthetics and values can be found represented in the music. One of the earliest significant publications of a keyboard suite was "Pieces de clavicin" by Jacques Champion Chambonnieres, who was seen as a big figure in the development of suite. Another significant manuscript, known as the Bauyn MS , features dances by both Chambonnieres and his student, Louis Couperin. The arrangement of early suites in France differs, but it is noted that these manuscripts are arranged by composer, key and genre. The dances were arranged by key in ascending order. In these early examples the Courantes always appeared before the Sarabandes and Gigue. Some evidence does exist that some consideration was taken by the composers to specify the order in which pieces should be played. Notes were usually made on the top of manuscripts for example written on a Gigue from D'anglebert's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Bloom 's Taxonomy : Taxonomy Essay Bloom's Taxonomy Bloom's Taxonomy provides teachers a basis to develop classroom lessons with more depth and higher levels of critical thinking. This hierarchy shows how students can learn material better and retain more later. There are six levels (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation) which cover the basics of the information (knowledge) all the way to critical analysis proving or disproving theoretical situations (evaluation). This technique appears ideal for my classes – Computer Science (Java programming) – because of the intense focus on critical thinking and problem solving aspects of knowledge acquisition and use. I believe that the 1st three levels – knowledge, comprehension, and application – are ideally suited to the "on–level" CS classes, and I can add analysis and synthesis to the "Pre–AP" CS classes. These two classes assume that the students have little to no prior experience with computer programming and that the courses are geared to that end by providing much of the basics of Java. It is because of this that so much of the 1st half of the year–long course is spent on basic concepts. We naturally fall into these first three levels, knowledge, comprehension, and application, during this part of the course. Through the first 8 weeks, we have discussed basic information such as variables, arithmetic operators, displaying data on the terminal, keyboard input, and decision control. Through lecture, demonstration, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Kermit and the Keyboard The Learning Processes of Kermit As I read the story of "Kermit and the Keyboard" I began to think of the learning processes that he engages himself in as he tries to accomplish learning task as it relates to playing the keyboard. In this story three cognitive theories can be recognized, analyzed and they are all believed to produce different learning outcomes. These three theories are the Cognitive Information–Processing Theory, The Piaget's Theory of Development as it relates to learning and lastly, The Interactional Theories of Cognitive Development. Each one of these theories presents itself in the manner in which Kermit develops a strategy for learning how to play the keyboard. In the cognitive information–processing approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Kermit's process of learning he was able to process information and stores it in his memory. He uses the processes of attention, pattern recognition, encoding, chunking, rehearsal and retrieval to initiate his learning processes and obtain new knowledge. According to Piaget's point of view, Kermit's learning outcome and the process of learning has no bearing on his theory. This is due to the fact that Kermit is an adult and has reached the formal operational stage of development. With this in mind, the 4 stages that focus on the processes of assimilation, accommodation and equilibrium in the development of the cognitive structuring process is not in the process of development in learning how to play the keyboard. However, there are some insights that can be attributed to this learning style. The type of knowledge is a point that we can certainly consider as it relates to Piaget's theory of learning. Physical knowledge is one type of knowledge that can be focused upon and this would include the actual touch of the keys when playing the keyboard, the amount of force that would need to be exerted on the keys to produce a sound and what sound the keys make as it relates to what functions they are under when producing a sound. Piaget believes that this knowledge is gained through doing; therefore, Kermit had to experiment with the keyboard in order to meet this concept of knowledge attainment according to the theory of Piaget. • 41. Essay on The keyboard sonatas of Haydn and Mozart I. Haydn Haydn has a special preference for writing music in a bundle of six. Each of the six pieces has its individuality while sharing many common features at the same time. Haydn's solo keyboard sonatas show striking diversity in type and style. They often could be categorized by their style periods and each of them reflects a corresponding social background. Sonatas composed from 1773 to 1784 were intended as "public" works from the very beginning, with a clear conception of the taste, preferences, and instruments available to the musical public of Vienna. Mozart Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarthad endless ideas for writing piano sonatas and like his other works, his sonata style has evolved dramatically over the years. His early works have been constantly compared with other well–known composers at the time. For example, it has been suggested that Haydn's F Major Sonata, Hob. XVI: 23 as a model for Mozart's K. 280 in the same key. The C Major Sonata, K. 309 was written on November 8, 1777 for the fifteen–year–old Rosa Connabich who was the daughter of the leader of the Elector Karl Theodor's famous Mannheim orchestra, Christian Cannabich. It was composed for solo piano. The three movements include Allegro con spirito, Andante un poco Adagio , and Rondo: Allegretto grazioso. The opening theme of the first movement uses a symmetrical paragraph of fourteen bars with seven measures each. It is followed by a pair of 3–bar balancing phrases. The slow movement also adapted the well balanced phrase structure at its exposition. This particular style was never unusual to musicians during the period. It has been used by many others including Josef Antonin Stepan whose Sonata no. 57 in E flat embraced almost identical elements as in Mozart's C Major Sonata. However, Mozart made his own mark distinctively in various moments. For instance, in the second movement, there was a frequent alternation between two dynamics, piano and forte.
