Listen! Listen!
    Listen!
 Salleh regards Siti as someone
special, but Siti regards her as not more
  than just friends.
 What could be the causes of this
  misunderstanding?
 Siti might be using inappropriate non-
  verbal cues while communicating with
  Salleh. (gestures, speeches, and face
expressions that might suggest that she is
interested in him, while she is not.)
 Salleh’s failure to correctly interpret Siti’s
  actions.
 Salleh does not ask Siti whether she feels
the same way or not. This could be the
biggest mistake because we can never
know unless we confront and deliver our
  message directly rather than just
depending on non-verbal cues. That is
  why, verbal communication is very
  important.
 Both on Siti’s and Salleh’s families.
 Siti’s family (not prepared, not enough
  refrehments for unexpected guests)
 Salleh’s family (proposal rejected because
Siti does not posses the same feeling)
 Salleh’s family is infuriated because of the
  rejection.
 They are shocked to the fact that they
expect Siti’s family to accept the
proposal, but in the end, it turns out the
  other way round.
 To heat things up, Siti’s family laugh at
them and Siti’s father tells them that Salleh
is not more than just friends to Siti.
 Thus, conflict and argument occur.
 Argument occurs
 Salleh’s family feeling upset and hurt
 Due to the conflict and
  embarrassment, they never speak again.
 What should have been done to avoid this
  situation?
 Avoid misunderstanding
 Siti’s family should have reject the
proposal politely, not by laughing at them
 The problem should have not been taken
too far, not to the extent that voices are
raised, fights and insulting each other.
 Both families should have apologized with
  each other.
 Mostly on Salleh’s family
 They are embarrassed by the way Siti’s
  family rejects their proposal.
 Salleh’s family does not apologize.
