The Computer

Definition
 an electronic device for storing and processing
data, typically in binary form, according to
instructions given to it in a variable program.
Functions
 There are basically for basic functions of computers - input, storage,
processing and output. These are described below: Input: Receiving or
accepting information from outside sources. The most common way of
performing this function is through the information entered through the
keyboard and the click of mouse.
Input Devices
A mouse is a small device that a computer user pushes across
a desk surface in order to point to a place on a display screen
and to select one or more actions to take from that position
A computer keyboard is defined as the set of typewriter-
like keys that enables you to enter data into a computer
or other devices
A scanner is a device that captures images from
photographic prints, posters, magazine pages, and similar
sources for computer editing and display
In computers, a joystick is a cursor control device used in
computer games and assistive technology .

Output Devices
A printer is a device that accepts text and graphic output from a
computer and transfers the information to paper
monitor In computers, a monitor is a computer display and related parts
packaged in a physical unit that is separate from other parts of
the computer.
Headphones Sometimes referred to as earphones, headphones are a
hardware output device that either plug into your computer line
out or your speakers to privately listen to audio without
disturbing others.
Printer
are speakers sold for use with computers, although usually
capable of other audio uses, e.g. for an MP3 player.

Processing Devices
Computer hardware
is the collection of physical components that constitute a
computer system.
CPU (central processing unit): the part of a computer in which
operations are controlled and executed.
Kateharbour
Motherboard: a printed circuit board containing the
principal components of a computer or other device, with
connectors for other circuit boards to be slotted into.
Motherboard
A memory is just like a human brain. It is used to store data
and instruction. Computer memory is the storage space in
computer where data is to be processed and instructions
required for processing are stored.
Memory Devices
Storage Devices
CD-ROM
Compact Disc - Read-Only Memory (CD-ROM) discs can hold around
800MB of data.
Thing Link, tools for image interaction that allow content sharing via
online images. The purpose of Thing Link, according to its
developers, is to allow photos and other images to be made into web
links, mainly for the purpose of advertising and education.
Thing link
Flash memory
has started to replace magnetic media as it becomes cheaper as
it is the more efficient and reliable solution.
Zip drive The Zip drive is a medium-to-high-capacity (at the time of its
release) removable floppy disk storage system that was
introduced by Iomega, Originally, Zip disks launched with
capacities of 100 MB, .
Types of Computer
Supercomputer
A supercomputer is a computer with a high level of computing
performance compared to a general-purpose computer.
Tower
A tower is a tall structure, taller than it is wide, often by a
significant margin.
Desktop computer
A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for
regular use at a single location on or near a desk or table
due to its size and power requirements.
also known as a computer chassis, tower, system unit,
cabinet, base unit, or simply case, is the enclosure that
contains most of the components of a computer.

Types of Computer
Server (computing)
In computing, a server is a computer program or a device that
provides functionality for other programs or devices, called
"clients". This architecture is called the client–server model, and
a single overall computation is distributed across multiple
processes or devices.
Personal computer
is a multi-purpose electronic computer whose size,
capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use.
PCs are intended to be operated directly by an end user,
rather than by a computer expert or technician.
Major Part Of The Computer
Industrial Motherboards
Advantech industrial motherboard series range from Mini-
ITX Motherboard, Micro ATX to ATX form factor boards
.
An extension cord, power extender, drop cord, or
extension lead is a length of flexible electrical power
cable.
Extension cord
Cable clips for mains wiring must be insulated. All-metal clips
are no longer compliant.
Cable clip
Cable Tie Base
A cable tie (also known as a hose tie, steggel tie, zap strap or
zip tie, and by the brand names Ty-Rap and Panduit strap) is a
type of fastener, for holding items together primarily electric
cables or wires.
Transmission Media
 is a material substance (solid, liquid, gas, or plasma) that can
propagate energy waves. For example, the transmission medium for
sounds is usually air, but solids and liquids may also act as transmission
media for sound.
 The absence of a material medium in vacuum may also constitute a
transmission medium for electromagnetic waves such as light and
radio waves. While material substance is not required for
electromagnetic waves to propagate, such waves are usually affected
by the transmission media they pass through, for instance by
absorption or by reflection or refraction at the interfaces between
media.
Types of Transmission media
Twisted pair
cabling is a type of wiring in which two conductors of a
single circuit are twisted together for the purposes of
canceling out electromagnetic interference
Wired transmission media
A transmission media is an information carrier. In this case a
wire which moves the information.
Coaxial cable
Coaxial cable is built with coppery core which is inside of
plastic cover. The cover is surrounded by metallic shield
witch works like a second wire. Then the whole structure is
inside of elastic cover.
Types of Transmission Media
 In the world of communication transmission media plays the very
important role without transmission media there is no communication.
Transmission media is broadly classified in two parts.
Transmission Media
The means through which data is transformed from one place to
another is called transmission or communication media.
Turbo
also known as fiber optic cable, is an assembly similar to an
electrical cable, but containing one or more optical fibers that
are used to carry light.
Optical fiber cable
Types of Computer
Minicomputer
A minicomputer, or colloquially mini, is a class of smaller
computers that developed in the mid-1960s[1][2] and sold for
much less than mainframe[3].
Mainframe computer
Laptop A laptop, often called a notebook or "notebook computer", is a
small, portable personal computer with a form factor,
alphanumeric keyboard.
Microcomputer A microcomputer is a small, relatively inexpensive
computer with a microprocessor as its central
processing
are computers used primarily by large organizations for
critical applications, bulk data processing, such as census,
industry and consumer statistics.
